No it's not. The best angle is 90° side on. Front makes anyone look in, back makes anyone look high.

I think I can agree with that, I certainly watch closer for a specific reason for failure if a lifter is known for making it when reffing.

I did

Barbell Squat 3x5
Dumbbell Squat 2x10
Lying Leg Curl 4x10+
Good Mornings 2x7

and 20 minutes of gay core workout shit.
Should I start loading weight on plank holds?

back makes people who are high look high

show me a video of someone clearly hitting depth from 90 but looking super high from back

I'd start looking at variations before loading, fighting to hold the plank/brace whilst moving is gonna be better than loading if you want to transfer that ability over to loaded movement imo.
Stuff like stir the pot, ab rollouts and this cunt of a variation;

I'm going to bed lad, but nuckols made a post about this a while back and I'll try to find it tomorrow.

its about the dev blocks ttps etc

lmaoing at the cope in this post

>Thoughts on my "sumo is bad" analogy? It's what stopped me from being a "sumo isn't as good as conventional" guy lol.

>Deadlift is a simple idea: pick the bar up off the ground and lock it out. Here's another two simple ideas: jump as far as you can, and jump as high as you can. The high jump and the long jump. If you've ever seen an athlete attempt the high jump or long jump, then you kinda understand where I'm going with this.

>If you told me to jump as high or as far as I could, I'd do it the obvious way. The "right" way. Jump as high as I could straight up, or run and jump as far as I could. And obviously I'd try to land on my feet, standing.

>Yet, the most effective way to high jump requires a landing pad and the technique itself is really not intuitive nor applicable to the "real" world (not a super good way to jump over a fence, right?). It's developed to get your body over a high bar, landing be damned.

>Similarly, jumping the farthest in long jump requires a sand pit because you land on your ass in order to maximize distance. See the theme?

>The goal is maximizing your "score" with whatever technique falls within the rules. That's the whole point with all sports. Nobody hates on long jumpers by saying they should land on their feet. Nobody hates on high jumpers by saying they should remove the pad. A lot of people hate on sumo by saying it's cheating.

>Wrote this is a rush so rip if I fudged conveying the idea.

>tfw no holy world record total even if it was only for like a week

Oh, well all the credit goes to you user.

:3

Uhh, yeah?

do you talk about the people who post there

all this faggot ever does is shit up the place. i'm thoroughly convinced this idiot doesn't lift and looks and smells like a morbidly obese pile of shit.

I agree. Can't stand mastery user.

Projection

not an argument

Who's arguing? I only state facts

State your bench max.

you've neither refuted nor proven anything. not one argument.

Refute what? You just replied to me saying you were morbidly obese, I dont care

Take yours and times it by 2

moving the goal posts is not an argument.

I'm not arguing

720 lb bench! Impressive, sean.

Sounds about as realistic as your father loving you.

Projection

I want to die

>i can not refute your argument, sir

very well, i accept your admission of defeat.

Projecting your insecurities onto me isn't an argument

LMAO just go out and have fun?

I can't help but think that sean is the only faggot projecting here

>dad
He has no father

Ah yes, how I missed this PLG, where every single post is about me

thank you goys!

i hate squatting and i don't care who knows

Do it until you love it.

it's been almost a decade lad i don't think that's happening

Find a new hobby.

good idea thanks

As someone who doesn't really enjoy squats much, but have only been working out for only a year, and squats half heartedly.
What is it you enjoy about squatting that you develop from squatting more?

Just do push pull meets

>What is it you enjoy about squatting that you develop from squatting more?
The satisfaction of overcoming acting like a pussy.

Being able to squat more than I did previously, the fact that it makes almost my entire body stronger, and that it has a high carry over to deadlift

i don't get the deadlift carryover argument

surely it would be easier to progress on deadlift if you didn't squat and had more recovery tokens for deadlift variations, or maybe that was just my experience while i took a hiatus from squats

Holy fuck my life is shit ahahaha

Powerlifting is gayyy

I didn't say it was the best way to progress your deadlift, only that it has carry over

yeah ik, i just mean i see that argument a lot for keeping squats in push-pull meet specific programming

>listening to some random 80s song I like
>see in YouTube comments RIP comments for the vocalist
>Google his name
>go on wiki
>notice he was born in the same town as me

Woah cool. Maybe one day I'll be a famous singer.

I'm getting stronger but my lifts have gone down screw commercial gyms

Can i get some uhh... Shoulder mobility excercises?

youtube.com/watch?v=NVn5tGWYAZk

anyone here a home gym dude? any advice, financial estimates? i'm moving to a place in london with a sizeable basement and i think i finally have the capital to start building this shit

You can squat more than you can dl per week and if you're lifting big boi enough weights you wouldn't want to dl that often.

>Currently on a high volume program
>Had a two-day rest from this
>Actually looking forward to go the gym to do 8 sets of squats today
>Starting GVT program the coming week
Is life good

youtu.be/Sk0xwz6jNiM
Super low key drills, do them a couple times a day and you'll see a big difference

>Starting GVT program the coming week
>Is life good

Pick 1 desu lad, GVT is awful

Me and you friend though I had a 1 week deload. Nothing feels nicer than when you're itching to go back to the gym.

>gvt
>life good
*inhales* oh nonono

I want to bench on monday and friday and do The Press™ on wednesday
What would be a good program for this? I'm an early intermediate

HLM

GVT is the memest of all meme programs, utter dog shit.

>>Starting GVT program the coming week

As in for example 3x5 bench on monday, high volume pressing on wednesday and 3x8 benching on friday? Sounds pretty good desu

Reposting for ideas.

Hit 160/120/180 for gym singles this week after stalling a few times on lp training. Maybe I had more in me but nice round numbers, eh.

How do I into big boy programming for intermediates? Preferably 3x weekly full body.

5/3/1, TM, Bridge.

Unironically nuckols 28 programs
2xbeg squat 2xbeg deadlift and 3xbeg bench together are pretty sweet

>Yor freestoyle dence tea-CHA

Is the Bridge 2.0 uploaded anywhere? Recall somebody mentioning a bunch of templates on the volatile but I can't find it.

What would be a good routine for after TM?

Thanks

Post you're powerlifting waifus.

Isabella is the best.

Try HLM.

I only have an olyfu, do I need a powerlifting one as well?

Yes, one for each weight class.

...

Okay, I will have to take a look at it then

>Epidemiological studies in human ageing cohorts also suggest that low birth weight and gestational malnutrition are strongly associated with reduced skeletal muscle size, strength and gait speed in older age2,3
dam this means that if you werent born as a fat baby youre basically a gde

Just realized the strongest woman in Iceland goes to the same gym as me

>squatting body weight
not impressive

I have to buy weightlifting shoes, don't i?

when i switched to lowbar the raised heel was tipping me forward so now i squat in socks

after a month i did notice that my feet had gotten wider not sure how i feel about tat

WELL SHIT NOW I AM ON THE FENCE AGAIN

Kek

If it makes you feel better i squat and deadlift in powerlifting shoes.

are you a twink

I can honestly say that i completely regret training in my garage for years

Since joining a proper PL gym and training with other lifters ive made so much progress and cant see it slowing any time soon

I'm 105kg.

Ok now I'm gonna go and at least check out the shoes.

Not everyone can train at a good gym though. I train at a commercial gym and it has 2 powerlifters (not even national class) as coaches and they add nothing to the atmosphere because they're so outnumbered by normies. I'd rather train at home.

>I'm 105kg.
yeah youll probally get tipped forward like me if you squat lowbar

Am I supposed to be lighter or heavier to not go forward?
