The idea may have merit but there hasn't been enough actual credible research into it to determine that one way or another. It's also not a new idea; back in the 90's there was something called the 'blood type diet', which was along similar lines, but it's bullshit and really doesn't work except in the most general ways.

Another similar idea is dietary recommendations based on your personal genetics; you'd have your DNA sequenced, and based on that there would be a list of foods you should and should not eat. But again, there's little actual research into this idea, and furthermore not much interest in doing it, and in some cases actual resistance to the entire idea.

What if we tried to put a control on the successful group and put them on a continent that was largely frozen and inhospitable, and placed the other group on a lush, warm continent with many resources available, and the other group in the tundra still accomplished more?
