Lent

So what is Veeky Forums doing for lent? Any physical goals? I plan on stopping recreational internet use(coming here), cutting sugar out of my diet, and reaching a sub 7 min mile.

catholics are a joke and so is your antichrist of a pope.

protestant here, and i'll be fasting during lent, no food.

Cutting out porn.

The only liquid I drink during Lent is water, and I abide by the no meat on Friday’s.

I plan on giving up lifting for lent.

>ridiculing another Christian
Really showing that love of Christ bro.

Nothing. Tbqh I try to live so that if there's anything getting in the way of my walk with God, I repent and try to get rid of it as I'm convicted.

I guess I don't have a problem with Lent itself though provided someone lives the same way. And I suppose wanting to give up something that isn't necessarily sinful but that is enjoyed nonetheless isn't something to be discouraged either.

Giving up smoking.

Reading and meditating everyday as much as possible. My diet and exercise already perfect.

I guess /nofap/ aswell. I'm already doing keto might aswell go full meme machine.

> Really showing that love of Christ bro.
what faggot denomination do you belong to? you sound like you're ignorant of the bible, dont you know the many times jesus and the apostles used strong language and gestures? you probably dont.

> Nothing. Tbqh I try to live so that if there's anything getting in the way of my walk with God, I repent and try to get rid of it as I'm convicted.
So you aren't even keen on keeping this tradition. What are you some nondenominational christian?

no food except on Sundays.
Might go pescatarian for the duration as well.

Personally, I'm going vegan. I really love eggs, milk, and meat but I hope that it can give me some perspective and learn to respect life better in some small way.

Even the other Catholics at work aren't giving anything up, kinda sad bros.

I just like the concept. If it gets me some good points with the guy in the sky, that's cool to.

> I just like the concept. If it gets me some good points with the guy in the sky, that's cool to.

dude thats not how it works in the bible, you are justified by faith alone, you dont need to keep lent to get good with God.

yes, swipe at each other's throats now

delusional sectarian shit stains

romanists need to repent of their heresy

The fuck is lent? Some sort of cuck lentil?

Go vegan if you want, but make sure you have done adequate research to make sure you get enough complete proteins, and take the b12 supplement.

Be healthy about it my dude

>you sound like you're ignorant of the bible
>implying you'll ever understand the bible unless you dedicate 20 years to it and study it in its original languages
protestocucks, not even once

Yeah, I've been reading as much as I can about it. So far Mic the Vegan on YouTube has been the best source. Most sites and personalities I find just talk about how horrible meat is but never get into the nitty gritty of what you need to look out for.

Thanks though man, I appreciate you looking out for me.

>So you aren't even keen on keeping this tradition. What are you some nondenominational christian?
The answer is I'm Reformed and Presbyterian (although only by convencience, the episcopate is okay in my book)

But given that the command to observe Lent is found nowhere in Scripture, the real question is what kind of self-described Protestant elevates tradition as binding on the conscience when that authority belongs Scripture alone?

I hope you prepare a number of lentil puns for the duration

>studying shitty fiction for 20 years
absolutely fucking mental

imagine dedicating your life to Narnia or something

Why are protestants so much more successful and white compared to brown mestizo C*tholics?

Holy crap, you're right user. I'm painfully under-prepared

I'm just giving up.

kek

there are a lot of protestant bible scholars out there you mong

> The answer is I'm Reformed and Presbyterian (although only by convencience, the episcopate is okay in my book)
Me too, and I share your view on episcopal government as well.

> But given that the command to observe Lent is found nowhere in Scripture, the real question is what kind of self-described Protestant elevates tradition as binding on the conscience when that authority belongs Scripture alone?
One who doesn't hold to the RPW. That's unscriptural. Nothing wrong with practicing Lent. I don't look down on people who don't do it.

I get you're an ignorant atheist looking to justify your disgusting and immoral lifestyle. But the Bible has a lot of scholarship backing it up.

I'm giving up religion for lent.

>tfw want to stop eating meat but dont want to lose gains
What to do

>Ash Wednesday last year
>Fap 3 times in the same day
>Eat delicious In-N-Out double double
The pope is a heretic and OP is a faggot.

lol what a gaytheist thing to say

>2018
>being religious

>protestant
>judgmental as all fuck
Weird of you to shit on Catholics so hard when you are one.

Nothing. My walk with God is my own and I see no point in upholding archaic traditions that only propagate through fear mongering and old-age dogma.

I'm gonna try and not masturbate the whole time. The Catholics say you can't ever do it, some Prots say it's okay, but I know in my heart that some of the stuff I've spanked it to is unacceptable and I'm going to spend the time reading and meditating on what I can do to align my sexuality and my faith.

...

Well yeah, they're cuckin' pretty hard with all that guilt and shame, but just leave it at that lmfao nothing to get your panties in a twist about. Dude's over here acting like it's possible to follow God the wrong way or some shit
