How much do gymnasts actually lift weights and how much is this just result of body weight workouts?

how much do gymnasts actually lift weights and how much is this just result of body weight workouts?

They have like the ultimate aesthetics combined with the ultimate bw/strength ratio.

Vast majority, if not all of it, is pure bodyweight. And roids. Lots and lots of roids.

Putting on extra mass would only mean making their routines more difficult, so they try to stay light and lean. At least on the olympic level.

Keep in mind they are all sub 5'9 manlets

I would suggest that it’s training intensely from a young age, day in day out. You program your body composition since then to look like OP pic

Gymcel cope

>how much do gymnasts actually lift weights and how much is this just result of body weight workouts?
on the Olympic level all of them but they don't do much besides squats and calf stuff. Since nothing else it really left deficient.

> with the ultimate bw/strength ratio.

Sprinters and wrestlers are stronger pound for pound

Ben jhomson could squat 600 lbs for reps at 170 lbs
And bench 440 lbs at that bw
What thet have is top tier elasticy

Anyways the gimnast physique is a result of roiding and being a manlet

Someone post that webm of that French gymnast.

>haha he's not a sad cunt, COPE

Average height of a male gymnast is 5'4"-5'7".

FUCK.
I wanted to be gymnast juicy and strong.
Not gonna make it brahs.
Almost a foot too tall for this shit :(

>how much do gymnasts actually lift weights
In germany at least, they don't lift weights except when if they're hurt, for rehabilitation exercises. They use small weights for that, though.

I asked.

Dunno about the US, though.

>Sprinters and wrestlers are stronger pound for pound
Nope. Gymnasts and Oly lifters are the athletes with the most maximal strength by FAR. Sprinters are good, too, but wrestlers are pretty shit at maximal strength.

That guy got caught on a drug scandal and used atrocious form on his lifting with spotters helping him on bench and wraps and boxes on squats, in reality he could only squat like 500lb tops for a hard single or double, while being on drugs.
The strongest pound for pound are obviously elite weightlifters and powerlifters in lower weight classes.

>tfw hypermobile rotator cuffs
will gymnast rings help with this?

You can look like that from just bodyweight stuff, natty, training for a long time with progressive overload. One thing that adds to the percieved size of gymnasts is that they are quite short, shorter people have better leverages, shorter ROM and over-all better weight to strength ratio. Especially the elite guys are the top 0.1% and to reach that level you need every advantage you can get, including being short.

Look at these numbers of olympic winners in rings:
"2000 Sydney, Szilveszter Csollány (HUN) – 168 cm (5 ft 6 in)
2004 Athens, Dimosthenis Tampakos (GRE) – 163 cm (5 ft 4 in)
2008 Beijing, Chen Yibing (CHN) – 160 cm (5 ft 3 in) –
2012 London, Arthur Zanetti (BRA) – 156 cm (5 ft 1.4 in)"

All short guys, making them look bigger. But! There are exceptions like Russell Czeschin(who doesnt look big but is 6'3'') and jon-Michael Chombeau(who looks big and is 6'3'')

Pic related is daniel vadnal from FitnessFAQ, 6' and has built his physique, especially upper-body almost exclusively with body weight.

>no legs

hahahahahah

Big legs are not an advantage in gymnastics,

This all the way.
Love bodyweight training.

>tons of roids to not add mass
Ok I guess

>gymnasts train calves
Why would they even bother?

why do runners train upper body?
aesthetics mainly, they still got to live in that body.

Gymnastics have among the least drug problems, I honestly belive it's one of the most natty sports in the olympic(excluding the ones where strength almost doesn't matter).

Ahahahah! What? The upper body is heavily involved in sprinting, that's why they train it.
You know jackshit

Because of shit tons of jumps, they need injury prevention for ankles

Whats a good bodyweight routine and what makes the reddit one a good one

Good to know, thanks

everything is heavily involved in sprinting that dosen't mean they have need bulging pectorals or amazing forearms but they do anyways.
>what makes the reddit one a good one?
it's simple, minimal equipment (rings), uses progressions, and has mobility/warm up stuff included. It's all you "need" in one place that's what makes it "good".
Are you going to need additional tutorials and stuff to move onto planche and front lever?
Absolutely but don't stop using the program if you're still gaining with it.

go so some curls and ohp and let me know how much you 100m drops by lmao

Go actually train sprinting with a coach

how are their NECKS so THICC????? hnnggggg

Painkillers are drugs user.

These are elite athletes with hours of training a day and eventually, steroids.

Keep in mind that the ahtletes you see will look great because they have muscle genetics and made it that far on gymnastics alone for that very reason. Not that gymnastics wont build you plenty, but those fuckers would have gotten huge off of playing ping pong

Never. Its 100% bodyweight workout.

u srs bro
upper body is huge in sprinting
