whats up yall, im a noob to getting Veeky Forums and want to start slow
ive been doing pushups like 5 times a day for the past week. today ive done 4 sets of 40-50 pushups. when i reach that point, i start to reach muscle failure.
if i keep doing this along with situps, will i notice any difference? would it be better worth my time to try something else, or order some weights?

Ok then, serious talk.
4 sets of 40-50 pushups is not bad at all, but you're training at a very very high rep scheme. You need some more resistance.
First off, read the sticky. Human body works by getting better at what it does. Break your bone, it'll regrow harder. Muscles do the same when you train them. So if you start lifting weights for 50 reps, you're gonna get better at lifting at lifting weight for 50 reps.
If you wanna lift heavy shit, try lifting for lower reps. You're gonna need weight and specific exercises to control the movement so it's consistent and controlled. The big 3 are ideal for this.
Honestly, read Veeky Forums a lot and consistently do what you're doing. If you really don#t want to go to gym, get some weight and put it on your back when you do pushups. Do five sets of it. Then next time, try to do a little bit more, either weight or reps. Then even more.

thats pretty fuckin helpful info
appreciate it. i never thought about putting weight on my back

Thomas Robinson
You're gonna have to start thinking about that. If you wanna train your abs, do certain crunch exercises. Don't have a roman chair? Hang from something and raise your legs, slowly and controlled. How do you progress? Do more, or at a better form, or use more weight. It's simple really.
The hardest is gonna be eating a lot.
Also, learn discipline and motivation, and the difference. This is something that will help you the rest of your life.
Also, post your body, age, weight and height and start looking at Alexander Karelin everyday to remind you of what man can become through hard work
Liam Wood
im pretty good with discipline so thats been helping me yeah
anything by or about alexander karelin you might recommend listening to or reading?
Grayson Bennett
I can barely do five push-ups. 5,9 180
Brandon Stewart
I don't think he wrote books or so but he got attacked once while eating, the dude smashed a glass on his head supposedly, but Karelin didnt go fight him until he finished his meal. He also lost like a single match in his entire olympic career, probably the best wrestler to have ever lifted in his life.
Also, Wasili Alexeev, one of the best weightlifters, was known for training and lifting weights in the water of the ice cold volga because he felt like it. Also he got thrown into Jail and the Soviet government pussied out and let him out.
As for actual literature, I'm not sure. Probably Rippetoes starting strenght and practical programming for starters. You can never read enough.
Kayden Wilson
karelin is fuckin awesome dude im watching his shit on youtube
he looks like someone i wanna get wasted with too

Well, whatever works for you. Nietzsche fucking motivated me for years and still does. A lot of motivational posters, quotes etc. actually work, even tho it's faggy. Just browse around, not sure what your life is like but I used to sit a lot on the computer doing nothing and fapping until I discovered lifting and started looking for all kinds motivational shit on my computer(also heart break, rip)
Rich Piana motivated the fuck out of me. Zyzz motivated me too. Eric Bugenhagen has some good shit.
Gavin Garcia
ill look into them tomorrow, i have their names pasted in my notepad for porn.
i listen to podcasts all day at my job so i listen to a good amount of motivating shit
thanks for all the info man
