Don't eat meat today

Don't eat meat today.

...

I was going to do the old school apostles fast for lent - vegan with one meal a day - but I started a new routine that's really great and I don't want to cuck my gains

fuck you jesus i do what i want

It's Lent, bro, not only should you not be eating meat on Fridays, but no meat, eggs or dairy until Easter!

You were meant to use up all all your eggs and milk making pancakes on Tuesday. Until Easter your only animal protein should be shellfish (no blood).

Show me where Christ says to do that, papists.

sorry jesus; i already packed my lunch for today and im not going to just not eat it

Also, no olive oil or wine, except for Sundays, are the traditional rules. You could extrapolate that to your modern situation as no added fats or alcohol at all, if you wish, although people used to drink beer for Lent in Europe. There were monks who consumed nothing but beer all Lent lol.

That's an orthodox thing breh, its fine if you want to do that but not required

I'm not Christian or Catholic, but isn't the fasting meant to be in imitation/in honour of Jesus' 40 day fast in the desert?

Why even practice Lent if you won't even do it properly lol.

>losing gains because some dudes who wrote a book 2 thousand years ago said so
Hahahahahahahahah

>Year of our Lord 2018
>Being a filthy papist

Do the proper Christian thing and look inward. Decide what material things are getting in the way of your relationship with God. Give those up. If you can go all of Lent without them, maybe you can remove them from your life entirely.

Giving up meat before an old guy in a silly hat in Rome said it was a good idea is dumb.

fuck off kike on a stick, you're not even God

There's lots of ways to make Lent a struggle without doing that. Lots of Orthodox just end up eating an exotic Mediterranean diet anyway so its not even as hardcore as they make it out to be.

If I'm not mistaken any abstinence is valid. I'm on no fap and intermittent fasting 18/6. I guess it counts

Yoy are an eastern orthodox Jesus, it's too early

I ate meat past midnight last night. Does that count? Im actually considering not eating anything on Fridays at all.

Orthodox fast as well, and more strictly than Roman Catholics. They aren't Papists.

Fair enough. Any step in the right direction.

Rate my lent sacrifices plebs...
>Ovolactovegetarian monday through saturday
>1 serving red meat, 2 servings fatty fish on sunday along with veg
>no soy
>no more than 3 servings of fruit per day
>2 gallons of water per day only for liquids
>no caffeine
>no booze
>no refined sugars
>actually do my full body mobility routine each morning...

Doing this primarily for the sacrifice as well as incorporating more veg into my diet in general.

Up votes for my fellow narwhal

I feel like this is an issue Christians have a lot.

"GIVE IT ALL UP AND GIVE IT ALL UP RIGHT NOW! CHANGE!"

But whenever I try this I fail. To me its been about slowly getting better day by day. I was in a terrible place a year ago. Im still not where I would like to be but Ive cut so many addictions out of my life and am doing so much better. I feel like its easier on people to ease them in. When you throw it in their face to immediately change everything, it just turns them off.

I'm doing nofap lent but zero interest in foregoing meat, etc.

If there's a Scriptural basis for it I'll consider, but most popish theology is extrapolating a single commandment into being something very broad, like mariolatry.

Eastern Rite Catholic icons look like that too

I don't anyway user, God bless.

>not being Christian means you’re a soyboy
I know a ton of numale faggot Christians.

>dont eat these specific foods at these specific days of the year or you will go to hell
remind me again how religion isn't for brainlets only

Christ gives instructions for fasting in the sermon on the mount and the Didache says to fast on Wednesdays and Fridays. There's also an OT basis like Moses fasting on Mt Sinai.

I'm on a keto diet. I need meat, retard.

You can eat fish brah

Where should I go for my one meal today, bros? I was thinking Of going Italian and getting some pasta.

>don't eat meat on friday
>come to my temple on sunday to eat my body
what did Jesus mean by this?

fuck me Jesus so I can eat your meat

I tried meat abstinence during Fridays for 2 months. Never again.

I'm on a social media abstinence for Lent. I can't lose my gains, God knows.

Cook your own meal senpai

I'm not but thanks for the reminder. BTW here is a reading list for anyone interested.

I'm from a 99% papist country and here what you're describing is considered practicing Lent better than lol no meat

Lent for orthodox starts monday. No meat this week. But no diary and meat for 40 days. Just going in ketosis desu.

What are you guys giving up for lent? For me its
>social media
>jerking off/porn
>drinking

Not sure I can go a whole day without meat though.

All drugs except caffeine. Generally less of everything and reading about lives of holy men etc.

I wish I could trade places with you. I've been observing the lent for ten years now, no problems with not eating meat dairy or eggs, but I managed not to fap only once.

Why not? I was born Christian so have no idea of Catholic holidays

I'm giving up food for Lent. Fasting for 40 days to achieve /jesusmode/.

rip

Lol I don't think you know what a keto diet is. Fat is not exclusive to animal products you know.

Fat is all you NEED on a keto diet. From where (animal fats, vegetable fats, your own fat) doesn't matter.

Definitely possible, but very fucking hard.
Remember to ease yourself back into food with things like carrot juice if srs.

you can eat eggs, had a bomb ass vegi/eggs after workout shit was cash.

Eggs aren't meat according to the church

Maybe modern Catholics can, but old school Catholics and Orthodox aren't meant too, or at least so I've read.

Yeah I'm gonna start with bone broth and work up from there, but that's a long way away.

im a 20 year old roman catholic and i go by what my diocese says to do.
