Found out after a long time of having a squat higher than my deadlift that my body proportions are fucked up so I switched to sumo and now my maxes are normal. I still train conventional, but my start position is almost horizontal short fucking arms and long torso.

Should have started cooking for myself and doing powercleans WAY earlier.

Deloading is important as fuck after a certain point, along with good sleep and not drinking so much. Ignoring any of these will rape your gains. I realized this since I started tracking my lifts for the last 9 months and a weekend of heavy drinking will drop everything 3-5% easily. Not getting 8+ hours of sleep or skipping a deload every 6 weeks will stall me or make me slip back.

If you have long femurs don't be afraid to sumo dead lift. 6'5" 57% legs ( ground to upper hip ) and almost snapped my shit after getting shamed to do conventional. Matter of fact even if you can do conventional with no problem I recommend leading it sumo buy 20lbs so you know you can handle the weight in a safe way before you try conventional.
