Alright lads,
let's say I have muesli/granola/cereal with some dry fruits, 100% peanut peanut butter and 4 different kinds of protein powder.
How the fuck do I make my own protein bars out of that?
Selfmade Protein Bars
haram sandwhore for attention
more like gainer bar, but yeah
I just really don't wanna use honey or similar shit which is always in these recipes so I thought I'd ask Veeky Forums for a more basic solution.
Taste is obviously of tertiary importance.
Do a trial batch of cooking some oats, mixing in your other grains, PB and hydrated powder til it all starts to clump and stick together. Grind down cereal or use it as a top layer. Force it in a pan and baking it at a low temp in the oven. Fruit can be added as a sweetener too, mushed banana can help bind shit. Might need some extra water or something get everything to stick together, go hard on the PB since that'll be your adhesive. Bake til it's hard, but not break your teeth hard.
I've not tried pic related but I do want to make my own protein bars at some point
Wouldn't it be better not to cook the oats to make it easier for it all to bind together?
I guess if the oats are sufficiently hydrated before baking it should end out cooked. Dunno if you use steel cut or quick rolled but hot water is the only thing that loosens up the prior. Milk/CC isn't something I've experimented with, but I'm sure it's a good addition/water swap.
I feel like we're talking about different things due to cultural differences desu (even if the dictionary seems to think it's the same), let me take a quick pic

Those are rolled oats.
So I'm good to go with the uncooked plan?
Might simply throw some of the batch into the fridge instead of the oven, since I usually eat them raw anyway and I'm worried about heating up the protein powder.
Yup, you don't even have to cook those desu, you should be fine just doing the dairy subs instead of water. It'll taste better and be more nutritious.
Neat, I'll try making some tonight and put them in the fridge afterwards, I have Cookies&Cream, Strawberry, Vanilla and chocolate flavour around, any recommendations on what to try first?
And does anybody have experience with the ratios at which I should mix the 3 ingredients?
I'll report back tomorrow with the results, should be interesting, if the first badge doesn't taste like total ass I'll try out all 4 tastes.
This seems like the easiest way to make protein bars and if it tastes good I'm sure many fitizens could benefit from it (definitely gonna try a glass of milk on the side or maybe to dip as well).
to bind your bars you can use egg white. i made cereal bars yesterday and used egg white (and a little honey) and baked it for 25 minutes at 150 degress celsius.. perfectly sticking together
I'll try the uncooked but fridged method, my peanut butter is pretty fluid due to it being literally just ground peanuts with nothing added, so that should be fine.
I went with 125g of oats, 100g of peanut butter, 50g of protein powder and some water.
I think I used too much water and later in the process I remembered that the protein powder might start to go bad since premixing drinks is a horrible idea.
Opinions?
Put it in some saran wrap like a meat loaf and put it into the freezer, will transfer into the fridge in 10-15 minutes.
Still worried about the water thing, since i know protein powder is made to react and get digested fast.
>scared of le carbs boogeyman
man up, faggot.
I'm not afraid of carbs you retard, I just want it to be as simple as possible.
Plus, no need to eat sugar for no reason.
Soak your oats overnight and drain.
Last post today, results will come tomorrow.
