My retarded mother gave herself arthritis and chippj g teeth with dibilitating digestive problems in her early 40s by not eating fruit and not drinking water and not exercising, and eating too much shit and becoming fat and drinking too much alcohalcohoand smoking 30 cigarettes a day.
How do i convince her that dumping all her bad habits in favor of being healthy and loosing weight will reverse half or more of the damage shes done to herself?
Because she told me a specialist told her that "you cant restore cartilage", so shes using it as an excuse to not be healthy.
OP honestly you can't do anything to convince her to do what she needs to. People do things based on emotion. Point out how its weird shes drinks so much soda non chalantly. Key word is weird, people don't want to be weird.

When I was on the 3rd year of med school and 120kg I met a 80kg 5 years old boy. He was a prick and had obstructive apnoea (too fat to breathe while asleep). After a few minutes and a lot of crying (we were trying to see his throat, basic semiology etc) I saw his mom: a 200kg old, around 30 years old, behemoth. She had only one leg. When I got outside the room I asked my seniors what happened to behemoth: did she lose her leg in an accident and got fat due to depression? Nah, it was just diabetes. Fucking landwhale lost one leg, was going to lose the other one and her baby behemoth was going the same way.
This is when I started working out and counting calories, lost 40kg ever since.
