Is trail mix considered unhealthy? (Also trail mix appreciation thread)

as long as it's consumed in moderation, is it really that unhealthy? (Also if you have any trail mix nearby, please post pictures of your trail mix, I enjoy trail mix)

My other bin of trail mix, Tex mex is really good

trail mix is calorie dense food that's good for you know... hiking up a trail?

you can literally get fat off of trail mix

My final container of delectable trail mix, the almonds are incredible

Yeah, all that sugar and salt does a body good.

>chocolate
>caramel
>candy

yeah I'm sure that's very healthy m8

I only have that mix occasionally, it's a special treat

If you're hiking up and down mountains all day the calories are great. But it's not something you would eat to try to lose weight.

I don't have pictures of any but my favorite trail mix for thru-hikes is:
Peanuts
Almonds
Raisins
Banana chips
M&Ms
Reese's Pieces

Pistachio nuts are GOAT and offering them to someone you recently met is good measure of whether you can respect them or not

I really like this mix. Probably not the best quality but a great bang for your buck if you're trying to bulk. 150g is like 800 cal

>chocolate, fruit, and m&ms mixed with some nuts
>needs to be told whether it's healthy or not

Is this thread for real?

Any mix like that one is gonna be fucking awful for you. Dried fruit is good in it. Nuts and granola as well. Of course, you shouldn't just eat trail mix while lounging around the house. It's good when you're actually hiking, but otherwise I would stay the fuck away from it.

That looks fucking disgusting. Have another horrible meal.

Even the pistachios are laughing at me.

>if you trying to bulk
If you're trying to bulk, eat whatever healthy food you usually eat, but more.

Reading here about eating junk food to "bulk" rustles my jimmies

It's as healthy as what you put into it.

It's supposed to be calorie dense (to take with you while hiking, etc) but that doesn't mean it has to be shitty. Less candy and pretzels, more nuts and dried fruit.

That's candy bro

it looks good bro.
its healthy enough for me.
better than pizza and beer for sure.

that trailmix is like 100% sugar and peanuts which are a shit nut.
you can get some trailmixes that will be healthier, but there are so many calories in trail mix it would have to be consumed very moderately unless you're bulking.

I finally figured out how to ma great tm at home that healthy, (I call it tm but I have no idea if it technically is)
>Sunflower, chia, flax or whatever seeds you want
>Oats that are slightly grilled
>Almonds that are blended till smooth almond butter but still a bit crumbly
>Dried cranberries
>Mix together
The sits and almonds make it extremely sweet with no added sugar.

it's a good way of consuming 1,000 kcal in a milisecond without feeling like you've eaten anything

that's why it's meant to be eaten when doing several hours of activities that burn like 500kcal per hour

it's cutting season, stay safe

What is "healthy" anyway? Trail mix is cool shit that serves a purpose and it is good for thath purpose i. e. in that case it is "healthy". If you spent your days on a chair having 3 meals and then eating a pack of trail mix in addition and reaching far beyond your energy expenditure trail mix is "unhealthy" for sure.

it's still sugar tho, there are better alternatives
