Especially tooth whitening. How do you keep them tusks pearly? Seems like two of the most popular options are whitening strips and whitening trays (i. e., trays that you fill with a sort of bleaching gel) Which one of these two do you prefer? Which one do you think is more cost-effective/gives you the best bang for your buck? I'm on a budget so I'm trying to think economically
What about those bleaching pens, anyone here made good experiences with those?
And finally, where do other EUbros like me get their tooth whitening supplies? I always wondered why American teeth in general seem so much whiter than mine, even though I'm very anal about my tooth care, until I finally realized it's not because of poorer dental hygiene in Europe (except the UK, ayyy) but because there's some retarded law here limiting the peroxide content of tooth bleaching products to 0.1%. So, where best to order from? Atm I ordered some (supposedly and hopefully original) American Crest Whitestrips from Hong Kong off of eBay, but I'm curious what other options there are. Would non-EU European countries be an option? (E.g. Switzerland, Norway, Slav countries....)

been wearin braces for a year now. and placing a disk between my teeth so my overbite disappears. no surgery at all. And it actually fixed it. now my teeth are pretty straight. when the braces are out (in a few months) i will whiten them and i will have god-tier teeth

Just get invisalign, I am 29 and I just finished my treatment few months back. They are pretty much invisible unless someone is looking specifically at your teeth for extended period of time.

ignore the haters. Adult Orthodonitcs are really common now, within a few months your teeth will look a lot better. after 12-18 months they will be fantastic.
yes there will be pain and discomfort, yes you can't bite with your front teeth for months, yes you will get food stuck in them all the time
you will smile more, you will look better, it's worth it >hurr durr retainer. yes you sleep with a retainer on for a year, then slowly reduce how often you wear it until you just don't use it at all. and you will have a permanent wire on the back of you front teeth that will occasionally get caught on things, but these are only minor annoyances for something that looks increadable
it's the ultimate nattycuck, too scared of the maintenance to get braces.

My ortho explained that i have a small overbite and the only way to fix is to get surgery and add spacial implants inside my gum.

I'm literally obsessed with having proper dental hygiene and you'd be surprised how many girls/even guys comment on how good it looks on someone who has great teeth. Thank god my family put me through having braces when I was younger because my teeth are now fucking amazing.
Yeah this is called composite veneer. My friend got them done. Pic related is his results - only took around 2 hours I believe. He had to have an initial consultation to get his teeth molds done though.

I don't think that many people can afford them. Probably more to do with your home whitening kit and toothpaste - again, in the EU these things are limited to 0.1% peroxide, which won't do shit
When you say whitening kit what exactly do you mean, a tray? Storebought or fitted by a dentist? How much does the gel to fill those with cost on its own?

Whitening kit was bought online and was around $40 AUD for two month supply. I'm probably going to get mine professionally whitened just because I want mine even whiter.
Literally doesn't matter about products. Just do a proper cleaning routine and maintain good dental hygiene. If you want to use whitening products, use ones which are enamel safe.
Fuck the whitening trays that take weeks and shit, has anybody gone and gotten their teeth bleached at the dentists? How much does it cost/how well does it work?
I had TMJ and kind of fucked up teeth. Got invisalign and it fixed both. Insurance counted it as medical rather than cosmetic cause of the TMJ.

Got one wonky tooth as well and another one causing me to bite my cheek, looks alright from the front but ortho said I need palate surgery and braces, will take 2,5yrs total. Barely any costs for me because it's considered necessary. I'm 30 btw.
Going in for a second opinion soon, I work a lot with people and need to be taken seriously, braces aren't really an option but it's too severe for invisalagn apparently.
Pulling teeth isn't recommended, they're healthy after all and it could go really out of whack after that.

Burger dental student here. I agree with you, but Hollywood has convinced our patients that it's what they want. I try to steer them towards natural colors, and our labs are actually really good with adding the incisal halo for composite veneers but some people just don't want it.
You're literally brushing off enamel with that. You're basically sanding away the surface stains, but you're going to open yourself up for a lifetime of tooth sensitivity if you use it too much. For your own sake, please just get a bleaching tray coupon on Groupon or something and go to a real dentist.

Guys, I had two teeth extracted to do braces, it went unfinished when I was in my teens, don't want to get into that.
Now I went back to dentist and he told me I can either close it all up, and have your teeth out of line. $5k AUD all up I asked him what the fuck, and he told me back then dumbasses were pulling teeth out left and right instead of doing it properly. I now have mismatched number of teeth between top and bottom so the teeth will not be hitting each other properly when I close my mouth.
Second option is to do braces, OPEN up more space and implant. $15-$20k AUD all up. Don't know what I should do. Money is kind of an issue I guess.
Any Dent fags or people with similar situations please chime in.

If money is no object, go for the implants. If you're poor I'd recommend you don't close the spaces but instead line up your teeth properly, and down the line maybe do crowns to fill in some space. I don't know how much spacing you have so I can't make a real diagnosis.
So when you say lined up, have the braces to open it up where the implants would go? I was thinking that, and if I can't afford the implants then go with dentures or something....

The simplest thing for you would be a bridge. I'm surprised your dentist didn't suggest that. You'd have a fake tooth anchored by your premolar and canine. You might need to open up more room for it but you don't neeeeed implants if you do open up the space
