basically a sort of middleman for the police and court system in the US since in most areas it is massively overpopulated.
She is a citizen that agrees to pay the criminals bail so he can get out of jail before his court date. If you dont get bailed out you will sit in jail until your court date which could be 2 or 3 years in the future (even if you charge is as minor as a weed charge)
Basically she loses money if the guy runs away and doesnt show in court so its her "job" to get him to go to court. There are a lot of grey areas because a bail bondsman is just a citizen, most of them are the scum of the earth

The issue here was the DA was looking for 1st degree murder charges, not manslaughter. Because it wasn't premeditated, it can't be murder, especially not 1st degree. From what it looks like the case is still ongoing so hopefully this retarded bitch gets to spend at least some time in prison. She will forsure go broke from lawyer fees, lose her rights to own a firearm for a long time, and never be a bondsman again.
