What's the theoretical limit of hair regrowth to begin with? I'm assuming it would only be possible to regrow what you had (ie if you have naturally fine hair and go bald you're not going to be treated and then have thick hair)

Regrowth is generally not considered possible. Once the follicles are damaged beyond a certain point, they're gone and you can't repair them.

This new therapy involves multiplying the dot-resistant follicles that last essentially forever, and you can create an unlimited number of them for grafting.

Given how long existing treatments take (many hours for a single grafting session of a few thousand hairs) and the fact that a full head has somewhere between 150,000 to 200,000 hairs, it would probably need to be done over a period of a few weeks (subject to pain tolerance, and the skill of the surgeon / robotic grafting unit).
