I've been doing ICF5x5 for a couple months now and seen good noob gains, linear progression and such. But now I'm squatting over 100kg my recovery time is much longer, which is expected of course.
But DOMS are so bad that I'm struggling to squat every day at my targeted weight. Should I drop one of the squat workouts?
icf isn't bad despite being "written" by a total retard
Switch to 3*5 if you're tired of spending 2H at a the gym and can't recover, removing a few accessories is also a good idea

Eat more and sleep more. There is absolutely no reason why soreness should be a problem. Come back when you are no longer able to increase the weight per the program protocol.

You up your work capacity so that you recover quicker. That's it. No magic or wizardry

ICF has a lot of exercises so its a lot of work being done, its not wonder its taxing your recovery. In Starting Strength when the squat gets very heavy and more recovery is needed the second squat day is done with lighter weights. So you can always do that.
But IMO you can't do ICF for a long time because when your lifts goes up you are doing a lot of work.
