What's more impressive? A 225x5 bench or a 225x5 floor press? my vote is for the floor press since its all upper body

guys what kind of bar this is?

Looks like a Multi grip curl bar, but this one is probably wide grip curl bar?

we have this at our gym but hadn't seen anyone using it, so have no idea what to do with it

Swiss bar/football bar. Its supposed to be for pressing with less shoulder strain

What’s more impressive
1pl8 chin up x2
2pl8 bench x2
Both at 81kg
(Yes I am aware neither of them are impressive)

2 pl8 bench

kek

HOLY FUCK i NEED ONE OF THOSE

>tfw still recovering from shoulder surgery

2 plate bench x2 for sure

Really?
That’s odd I would have assumed the chins would be less achievable (because of fatties doing 0.5 BW bench)
Thanks brehs

Last session I did 225x5x3, at 165lbs

most likely just a 16 year old larper. Probably can't even bench 1pl8

If you can floor press 2pl8 you can bench more than that

I can 1pl8 chins for 4 reps but only bench 85 for 3 and I focus way more on bench
I think 2pl8 weighted chins is rougly equivalent to 2pl8 bench assuming equivalent training and being not fat

Floor press because it isn't a lift you should practice regularly.
But bench if the bench is paused.

im gonna say bench because theres more range of motion and the floor press only goes parallel. but I guess floor press can be harder depending on your body comp and since theres no hip/leg drive

floor press precedes bench press

What?
I bench 250 for 5x5 but I can only do 40lbs 5x5 for weighted chins. I also almost never see anyone doing weighted pull-ups or chin-ups, but I regularly see people bench more than I do.

Because everyone benches but no one does weighted pull ups.

Yeah, so how is a 2pl8 bench more impressive than a 2pl8 weighted chin-up?

It was 1pl8 chin ups, which I assume is +20kg in this case

That makes more sense, but even then it doesn't seem accurate to say that's less impressive than a 2pl8 bench.
2pl8 bench really isn't that much.

Just from my experience, but you don't see anywhere near as much talk about chin up weight progression

yes. A guy who can only bench 225x5 is weaker than a guy who can floor press 225x5, because floor pressing 225x5 automatically means you can bench more than 225x5

225 curl
