I have been coming to Veeky Forums on and off for the last 10 years and have never posted. Listen or don’t, it makes no difference to me as I am leaving after posting. These are things I have learned that I would have wanted to know 10 years ago; some of them I learned here and it is because of those anons that I am doing this.
Consistency is the most important factor of any fitness programming. Learning to understand your body and how it grows takes years. Work-out regularly, eat well regularly, sleep properly regularly. On a long enough timeline, assuming natty, this is the best way to ensure never falling off the gains train.
Wank it all you want, but stop watching porn. The earlier you can get yourself off of it, the better. If you think you have a problem, you probably do and, sooner or later, it will affect your sex life. There further down the kink train you are, the more you should take this seriously.
You are the only one who can fend for yourself completely. Keep yourself in order before you try to keep anything else in order. Working-out is just one part of this. It is not that much work, but it requires discipline. Apply that discipline to the things that matter.
Do not forget how fungible you are, no matter how special you might think you are. We are all interchangeable with others who can serve the same function; be it in a relationship, a job, or a society. Do not become attached to any version of yourself because your reality can change drastically. If you are lucky enough to come from a good home your family would be an exception to this idea.
Related to porn. Be vigilant of how you consume media. Modern corporate media has been nearly perfectly honed to extract maximum value by being appealing to consumers in ways that are exploitative of inherent human urges. Read more books.
Accept and embrace the complexity of the world you inhabit. There are no global shadow boogymen and if you think there are, you need to ask yourself why you need there to be one. The sooner you accept that the world is complicated and certainly beyond your current understanding, the sooner you will begin to realize how your personal power can be manifest in the world. Anyone who is deadset on convincing you of the existence of a boogeyman is getting something from you believing in that boogeyman.
Friendships are the most vital relationships a man can form on a long enough timeline; make friends that you are willing to suffer for and who are willing to suffer for you. Form friendships that will make you grow emotionally, be active in your friendships that matter in this way. Make friends that will not hesitate to tell you when you are being retarded and trust them when they do.
Develop a strong moral code, a man without integrity man is not much. It is far harder but more satisfying on aggregate to be good. Spending too much time on Veeky Forums will degenerate you, but there is value in experiencing user. Read more books.

Ironically the only aspect in life in which I achieved this is working out regularly for the past year and half. For the rest I still have a huge problem for setting goals and working toward them in a consistent manner even though you will only see the fruit of your labor in years.
