Have you ever played with someone who hates your guts?

Have you ever played with someone who hates your guts?

Yes. It's kind of baffling to see in person. I would have cut ties a lot sooner, but I just felt bad for the guy. Everything that leads to someone forcing themselves to play a game with someone they hate is kind of just pitiful to see

Briefly.

Played in a Call of Cthulhu game with some micro-alpha male. One of these "fake it 'till you make it types" that goes out of his way to project confidence, and he accomplishes this by putting down others.
Wouldn't let me participate. Talked over me whenever I tried to roleplay. Had to shit on everything I did. Made fun of my accent and pronunciation (I'm not from around here. I've been living on another continent for over half a decade.)
Fucking blonde haired racist nazi cunt, cock-nosed goblin-looking motherfucker.

Not unless they were amazingly good at keeping it a secret.

Why would you play a non-competitive game (I assume you're not talking about 40K or WM matches here) with someone you hate?

You sound kinda racist yourself

Yeah. He played a lawful stupid paladin and I was a rogue that just kept throwing my voice to sound like it came out of his ass when we were trying to sneak through dungeons. This was 2e.

I got irl beef with one of my players, we talked it out a few times and came to the conclusion we just dont jive anymore.
My games are part of the college's club though and he is one of my objectively better players. We agreed as long as we just keep it on point when we play everything will be fine cause it's kinda stupid for me to kick him out of a semi-public game for personal BS that has nothing to do with anyone else.

>ITT: Being responsible adults

Yeah...
Myself

I once played with a dude that played as a dragonborn that really hated the way I play. He played most encounters like a videogame while I was doing shit like running fist first into a slime and casting thunderwave, abusing the hell out of illusion spells like making smoke appear in a cave and shouting "FIRE, OH GOD GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN" causing hordes of dudes to run for the entrance and get ganked, or pulling some "Jackie Chan with a ladder" type shit on a moving statue to end up disarming it and climbing on top of it to ride it. He got so mad that almost every single session there would be some pretty vocal outbursts about my character's, and by extension my own, stupid plans which ended up with the DM constantly panicking trying to make things right.

Never played with anyone who openly hates me, but I've played with quite a few assholes.
Played one game (a multi-GM multi-table mega-game thing) where my character died during the last session, during the epic final fight because some ass-hat from another group teleported into our section of the battle and dropped a bomb on my head. I assumed he was trying to kill the enemies surrounding me and turning me into a necessary sacrifice, so I asked if I could dodge... nope, he explicitly said he wanted to kill my character. The one I'd grown quite attached to over the campaign.
And the GM fucking allowed it.
I would have punched that fucker if I didn't know I'd have been expelled from the club and University for doing so.

No, but I play with someone I fucking hate.

Last night I and a couple friends got really excited about playing and hopped on the hype train and rode it all the way through a 4 hour session, dragging the guy who wanted to play all serious along for the ride. Luckily the other two were on board as well because we pulled off some stupid shit. There's no doubt in my mind that that guy hated all three of us and won't be interested in playing with us again. But fuck that guy, sometimes you have to cut loose and take the chimera tail for a belt.

My group was bad.

>Sniper white knight who plotted against the group "For the lulz and rp reasons" *Actual quote

>Lumbering retard heavy weapon specialist who would switch every session between a gunho shoot first ask questions later/ sleep in the middle of fighting to the intelligent philosopher who wants to be in charge of making the deciding on every plan by himself for the group

>Navy seal CQC specialist who got pissy at first because as a "theif/spy" kind of character, I was taking away his role of "Sneak around" but ended up being ok once he turned into a ninja jiu jitsu kind of character.

>Medic with the tendency to actually wound us more then heal and hoard explosive weaponry. Was prone to randomly shoot us because "She didn't like what we were doing"

>A locksmith/bomb maker who didn't allocate/ level points properly who would check for traps on every. single. door/floor/wall/ceiling/air/water/earth/fire. Was also prone to take apart batteries to make makeshift lithium bombs that always had a 25-40% chance to blow up in his inventory every round.

>Roy mustang with two tanks of propane and tubes under his shirt sleeves with a flint gloves and a steel glove. Asks every session for a katana that vibrated like in MGS. Ended up taking a regular katana and trying to cut a nuke in half because he "felt the bomb maker" was going to fail his roles to disarm the nuke.

>Mad max borderlands psycho with a chainsaw axe (was pretty funny)

Every session lasted 4 hours. 1 of gameplay and 3 hours of fucking arguing on what should happen and then bitching about what happens. Everyone was mad at everyone. Except the snipe/medic since they were dating irl

This was a modded game of twilight 2k if anyone is interested.

The GM loathed me for a couple of months after I got together with the girl on our group because he had the hots for her. We talked it out like adults and we're over it now, he still acts passive agressive at times.

Start dating his mom and cut his allowance if he starts acting up

No, I'm pretty lucky, since I play IRL with my real friends.

What if one of your friends was replaced by a doppelganger or a changeling and now he's trying to destroy the game?

Didn't consider that, huh

Oh fuck, that could explain what my DM pulled last encounter.

Yeah, in yugioh. Because I don't want to send someone I actually like to the shadow realm.

There is always someone that will hate me in a game. Usually after I began solving problens and getting good results. As a GM, there are players that will cause trouble, no matter what happens during the campaign.

> D&D 3.5 = made an OP Human Fighter, player begun bitching about my char, for no reason because there were at least other 3 players with OP characters (Ranger, Monk, Barbarian)

I don't think they hated me, but in our early campaigns, one person in our group apparently found it funny to pick on my characters in particular.

It wasn't like light teasing/banter, which I can deal with and even encourage, but full on "lol I'm going to steal from your character", "lol I'm going to kick your character in the balls", "lol I'm going to mess up your character's attempt at doing something on purpose", among other things.

I wasn't cool with it, the DM told me in retrospect he wasn't cool with it (even though he would run with it), but neither of us really spoke up about it, so it continued for way longer than it should have.

Luckily their habit of doing this died down after they realized it's not really cool to single out a person in the group and act disruptive and actually started roleplaying decently in later campaigns.

Well, racism DOES beget racism, and all that.

So basically you're a piece of shit?

Yeah, online, for a while.

Unfortunately, she's the best friend of the chick I'm stupidly in love with, and said chick was also in that game, so....

Yeah, I was in the game too fucking long.

>Being responsible adults

why?

Lol yeah, I played with some really salty "REEE THIS GAME IS ABOUT ROLEPLAYING AND STORY REEE" types when I just wanted to build my char and roll some dice to bust some loot pinatas.

I play with myself all the time so yeah

im currently running a game where two of the players hate each other.
player 1 is a heavy gunner/juggernaut who is in the process of recruiting gang members for a private army.

player 2 is an assassin who is literally the dumbest mother fucker i have ever met...

they complain to me every day how they think the other person is playing their character wrong and how i should punish them...
frankly its quite frustrating...

Nothing that you said makes any sense

This is why it's so important t get the group to agree on what the campaign is about before it starts.

Yeah, fun times.

My ex. Other players felt like that she was bitchy to me and was glad when the ex was gone. I tried to keep my best poker face through the 3 sessions after breakup.

>Being responsible adults
I got enough of that when I'm in the office, getting paid for it.

Huh, yeah you'd be an asshole for that last part.

>that hand
geez, great pic aside from that

Did he also cuck you?

>Stupid shit
>Chimera tail belt
SON, WHEN YOU BEST A MAGICAL BEAST, YOU DAMN WELL BETTER TAKE A TROPHY.
Your friend is clearly just mad cause he didn't get one

I'm playing 2 campaigns and GMing a third with someone who hates my guts

I had a similar situation, but ended almost instantly

>lol imma go and take your sword
>What? why?
>because it's shiny and i like shiny things XD
>Ok. I punch you in the face
>what?! Your paladin can't do that!
>Of course i can, you were stealing from me and i'm not a pacifist. Now get your hand off my stuff before i punch you again.

Later the same guy tried to get revenge by sneak attacking me during a combat with some bandits. Wanted to kill me and make it look like i died in the battle

too bad undead are immune to sneak attack damage

Yeah. Playing Rugby in college, accidently sent this guy to hospital. we're on the same team ; but we're chill now.

Why would you hate yourselves?
You're great guys

On rare occasions

>with my real friends.

How many of 'em?

>undead paladin

I would've killed you too.

user has a point.

Through the wonders of neurosis that may be everyone.

Played as the only guy in an otherwise all-female group, in which there was a stereotypical man hating feminazi tumblrina.

Did she RP an elf?
Or did she RP an overly assertive red headed archer?

Shit, left my fag on.

No, a goliath paladin. Some of her beliefs ended up bleeding into the game through her character, and she was quite brutal to men.

I played a bard by comparison.

Mate, there's an entire template perfect for undead paladins in 3.5 (which I guess he was playing), the baelnorn. What's your problem?

>played a bard with feminnazis
I couldn't resist playing a charming womanizer

Actually I played him sort of naive and like a young Don Quixote-lite.

She and her character still hated him and even physically was abusive, but he wasn't a womanizer.

actually it was pathfinder

Good luck, i'm already dead

bumping for table feuds

fuck bitches, love dice and fictional waifus

Yes.
She even kept trying to kill my characters.
Then threw a bitch fit when I accidentally killed hers with an explosion.

We're friends now.
Though I think she still hates me a little.

meh, whatever. It was my fault for liking someone anyway. I had a moment of weakness where I couldn't hold my self to objective logical analysis.

...

Yes. Guy tried to disrupt the game by ignoring basic strategies, clues and of course not picking on my DMing style. Tried to powerplay and impose his view on the game.

His "Rich-Parent-Holy-Bow-With-A-Composite-Longbow-and-a-+4-STR-Bonus" met Giant Spider Poison, a bad save, cover and distance. It was pitiful.

Since the I know hateful persons are little more than self-destructive.

Knight of the Sepulcher :P

...you were playing Team Fortress 2?

Who's this girl?
She's really cute

>implying us whites are affected by racism

C'mon bro

Fanart of Tak from invader Zim.

Tumblr pls

xe's right tho

If you've ever been in any area with even moderate levels of urban decay, you'd know how untrue that is.

There are the types, in those neighborhoods, who genuinely hate white people and readily voice it to white strangers on the street.

Some of these roving racists are also violent... in which case, yes whites very much are "affected"

Everyone can be affected by racism. should be pretty damn obvious

I couldn't give a fuck less about racist.

Sounds like you were chaotic stupid, asshat.

Nah, they're cunts.

>when that Spicy faggot challenges you to a duel but he doesn't know you poured all of your points into Str

>abusing the hell out of illusion spells like making smoke appear in a cave and shouting "FIRE, OH GOD GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN" causing hordes of dudes to run for the entrance and get ganked
+1 inspiration, that's brilliant

>only knowing the girl you're in love with via the internet
I'm sorry for your lots, user

Currently in a game where I'm trying to figure out if another player hates me or not.

So far they've been antagonistic to myself/ my characters for all of the campaigns I've participated in with them, so the "It's in character" reasoning is seeming unlikely. So far it hasn't been anything more malicious than IC bullying and insults, and hasn't really been causing serious harm besides that.

Opinions? What do?

Mudslime spotted

Nah. We did meet, once.

She expressed the exact opposite of interest in me at that time, and broke up with me.

Sorry to hear that, bro
I'm sure you'll find the one soon

Once. And i know i'm gonna catch flak from someone for this but here ya go.
>slowly become interested in DnD in early highschool
>girlfriend plays from time to time so i ask her about it
>figure worst comes to worse i still get saturdays guaranteed off to hang with guys or i gain a hobby and spend saturdays with gf from then on
>she passes it by her group who okay it on a trial basis
>helps me make a nice fighter
>good survivability so hopefully i won't have to sit there after awhile trying to make a new character that might not make it in that session
>everyone seems pretty nice and friendly but the dm seems pretty bent in general
>typical 20 something fat guy in female body type with a goth exterior complete with makeup
>seems pretty cold in general and a little snippy but figure that might just be her general attitude
>sits theres groaning and complaining how its taking so long to get thing set up now that they have a new guy to teach
>everyone else is pretty helpful
>explains how encounters go, initiative, rolls, how i might personally know something but my character doesn't, etc.
>everyone seems to be having fun but again the entire time dm is groaning and tapping fingers loudly on table and general displeased
>encounters everything seems solely out to get me even if i'm in the way back
>dm's explanation is they can see by my hesitation and need of advice that i'm the weak link in the party
>not 20 minutes into actual game play i call her out on it despite giving it a good try
>ask her if she has a problem with me for some reason
>goes on this tangent on how she didn't invite me to her game and i brow beat others into forcing her hand despite never having met anyone prior
>gf gets pissy real quick and bitches her out
>dm just screams at her not to defend me

>at this point the argument is a back and forth between them i can't even tell whats being said just a lot of shrieking and ready to step in if it gets physical
>not even sure how it gets to this point but dm accuses my girlfriend of having sex with me like its a crime
>gf just says so what if she did
>dm goes real quiet and leaves the room
>figure its just one of those times where you leave for a breather from shit like that before hands are at throats
>start talking with gf while others are apologizing about how its not like this usually
>in the middle of suggesting we leave when we hear from the next room
"Hello? Yes. I'd like to report a rape."
>before i could even get up one of the other guys was in that room and throwing the phone against the wall
>suddenly i have to defend myself against a hysterical dm who's bawling to the 2 cops that showed up about how i've been raping my girlfriend and how she's scared to admit it to anyone and how all the signs are there while me and gf defend my damn innocence
>the preface to this whole damn conversation to frame it all was 3 people all rushing out the door to their cars and attempting to speed away just as cops rolled up
>bottom line no charges can be placed if the victim isn't willing so after about 40 minutes of shit we finally get to leave

>gf and i talk this shit out cause i almost got labeled a sex offender which is dangerously easy and inescapably life ruining in my state at the time
>turns out gm thought that her and gf holding a correspondence through texts and occasionally hanging out meant they were dating
>gf didn't find out and stop it till 3 weeks beforehand
>she apparently didn't take it well initially but since had acted normally
Turns out not only was she 27 and trying to date someone 12 years younger stepping into statutory rape territory she apparently got "raped" and her explanation to my gf on what her "rape" was was that she had to "settle" for someone else in highschool because it was "expected" of her when she couldn't get who she actually had her eyes on meaning the sex they had was technically unwanted and therefore rape. Turns out the guy she "settled" on also introduced her to tabletop and her ideology was that she was "saving" my gf from the same disappointment she experienced at her age

Tl;dr i met a psychotic dm who happened to be female and accused my loving relationship to be purely rape based.

Maybe.

I'm still thinking she was the one.

Yes, my old GM. He stormed out after he tried baiting all of us with an argument about the confederate battle flag and I pulled so much argument dodging the topic went from flag to autism to attempted suicide in less than five sentences. I'm quite proud of it actually.

If she says no she's obviously not "the one". Both parties have to be committed for a relationship to work out, don't be dramatic.

Here something from experience that probably won't "click" with you until it happens: they're not "The One" if you don't end up happytogether.

Too many people seem to have this idea that that one person they met all that time ago HAD to be the one human being they could be happy with and no one will ever come close. The issue is this: the world population is damn near 7.5 billion. Thats 7.5X1000x1000x1000. At least one other person statistically has to exist in that massive ocean other than "The One that got away" that you could live and die happily with and not "settle". Strictly speaking theres in fact tens of thousands in all likelihood that fit that description and each and everyone is a "The One" in the making you just have to put out some effort to cut and polish that stone to see if it gleams. And don't base your shit on others views thats just hamstringing yourself at the get go. Who cares if tims wife has bombshell tits if she has a crap personality. Maybe thats all tim wants but in this particular area who gives a shit what tim wants in a partner, its about what YOU want in a partner and the only person that has a say in that is you. maybe you don't find that rocking body hotty but damn you could sit there and talk for days and days and never get bored or maybe she's a nice foil to your personality and you fill each other out in ways you lack alone.

Combinations and opportunities are literally endless from the perspective of your lifetime you merely have to get up and get to work.

No. I do not think a bitch hating /everybody/ who doesn't kiss her ass counts.

bump

Rolled 10 (1d20)

I roll to disbelieve

>You are mildly doubtful but overal unsure.
don't suppose cops keep records of calls like that over a decade ago do they?

So how was the next session?

but i'm lawful good

Put up various posters in stores and at these pavilion deals at the local campus. Pavilion deal is a 3 openinged pavilion with a thick column inside that people use to advertise shit via poster inside and out. The campus built the original as some memorial or something in the 70's but since it's a popular way to advertise shit like bands, bars, when various farmers are going to hold farmers markets, tutors, pretty much anything. Theres like 20 spread around now.
Took 4 months and 5 failed dm's till we actually got one of the lgs store owners to dm for us.
Nice guy with a shit ton of experience and actually got us into other shit beyond pf and 5e.
Guy has all the free time in the world too since he essentially relegates the work to 5 seperate managers.
Group eventually fell apart between some getting different jobs requiring different days to work or in one case a relocation several states over, and gf getting kicked out of her home by her fucked up mother and having to move 500 miles north to live with her dad which broke up our relationship.
Been about 3 years.

Seems to have chopped off the beginning bit there for some reason.
The group decided to hole a get together sans dm and we decided on staying together but no one thought they were up to the task of DMing so it ended up with us deciding to search for one. Went to kinko's with this crappy MS Paint poster we worked up and came out with a 100 stack. Eventually made different ones as we thought asking solely for pathfinder might be hindering the search.

Beyond that the first few dm's and sessions were trainwrecks or bored until LGS owner finally came over to talk to us. Like i said he's a nice guy and heard/saw the posters about our problem off and on over the months. Agreed that we'd be up for any game he'd be willing to teach and it took off from there.

i.e. a 3.5 edition or later D&D player got mad at a OSR D&D player for realizing the game isn't all about builds and numbers

Played in an game with a "lesbian" girl who is also an SJW. I make lots of off-color jokes. She pretty much hated my guts.

Nonetheless she also RPs on F-list and I recognize her character on there, unbeknownst to her. Said character approached me under my male character for a rape scene.

Shit suddenly clicked for me.

Kinda. His girlfriend was invited to the games, and she flashed her tits at me once, in front of him.
We were in high school, /he/ hadn't even seen her tits yet.

How could you blame him? But he should really be angry at his "girlfriend".
People who string along others in relationships are deplorable, if you don't like someone you should dump them, not have them dragging behind you so that you can hop on the next best looking person you see.

No, I've generally only played my tabletops with people who seemed to think I was at least alright. Unless they just internalized their hate and faked it like I do for most of them.
