I think the main thing lost between Warhammer and AoS is the grime, the stank, the dirt, the sweat, the raw nastiness, there was a certain physicality to the art and setting. AoS is too clean. Warhammer is a maelstrom of a hundred different heady heavy metal concept album covers, AoS is a single photoshopped power metal EP.
