do macro wep upgrades count for chaos escort missile launchers?
Parker Diaz
yah, missile launchers are macro weapons.
Jonathan Gray
In fairness it's very true to the tabletop.
Wyatt Ortiz
>both with Ram upgrade
Jeremiah Carter
...
Joshua Roberts
is anyone else getting triggered by the torpedo tubes on the retribution? there's no way a torpedo would fit in there, they're too far behind on the prow
Cameron Miller
Poor bastard
Dylan Gutierrez
Fucking hell, I haven't played eldar since the beta and everything's changed. How do I get gud?
Matthew Walker
Try to isolate ships, and hit them in the asses with concentrated pulsar rape.
Austin Ross
clearly the tubes just extend out past the back of the prow. or the torpedoes are stubby little things.
Gavin Carter
Side breech load.
Ian Gutierrez
the prow ends right behind the tube entrance
aren't torpedoes too long for that?
Christopher Collins
They are supposed to but are bugged and don't.
Owen Kelly
>aren't torpedoes too long for that? no, this would be purpose built machinery.
Carson Garcia
Unless I get lucky and Chaos screw up.
Fighting against chaos is just boring. Chase them around the map, hope for two critics in order to destroy their engine.
Or some how stasis and taunt get them.
Carter Sanders
I'm an actual torpedoman and I don't give a flying fuck.
please kill yourself.
Sebastian Campbell
>I'm an actual torpedoman
Bullshit, fucking liar. Torpedos don't have fuckin arms or even fingers. How are we supposed to believe you can type?
Kayden Butler
>IN vs Eldar >put Mars with navigational shield in asteroids for extra protection >blast around with Retribution on flank to draw in Eldar >Eldar swing in from both sides, Mars distracts most from right flank >Retribution and Gothic ramming everything >MWJ Ret and barely graze Eldar flag ship >It still explodes >Remaining Eldar decide to pile on Mars >All ahead full out of the asteroids into remaining cruiser >Tactical cogitator while ramming! >Retro then AAF, repeat
That was fun.
My only regret is that I forgot to brace for impact.
Austin Reed
He detonates repeatedly on the keyboard of course.
Luke Parker
user, not that kind of torpedoman.
Ian White
I use my tube feeler, I can only type one key at a time, and I have to be upside down to do it.
Eli Moore
>brace for impact >ramming
But how do you use lock on target to spray the rest of his fleet with macros while ramming?
Jayden Kelly
Macrocannons don't do shit so you basically ignore it.
Angel Bell
>Laughingeldar.jpg
Okay
Jacob Collins
>macrocannons don't do shit
u wot
Christian Perez
I'd mostly brought ships that were lance heavy or had abilities to make ramming easier. The Mars I was just spamming assault boats and nova cannon. Lance boats seem to generally work better for me against Eldar. If I think a mission against them is going to end up with a lot of ships under repair I'll just bring stacks of Firestorms with upgrades lances.
Caleb Young
Auto-firing weapons have abysmal damage output compared to bombers, ramming, pulsars and even torpedoes and nova cannons, which is why IN players trying to broadside people get utterly raped by players from other races almost all of the time.
Colton Barnes
imperial macros have outstanding damage, especially when in ap range. bombers are easily either dodged by silent running from range, or fighter intercepts, torpedos as well. not to mention their long cooldowns. pulsars are currently broken andare in line to be nerfed next patch, and novas scatter so much that unless you mass them they can barely get through shields, and no ram upgrades for nova ships. speaking of rams, if you are in ram range, you are also in ap cannon range, so why not both?
Evan Gonzalez
>Imperial Navy vs orkz Oh dear god what do I even do
Jaxson Fisher
target the engines. try using long-ranged ships.
Owen Jenkins
fuckload of torpedoes
stay out of 5000m
Christian Price
9k Gothic Lances with +50% shield damage do pretty good.
Remember they cant execute for insubordination like you can so you could start a chain reaction on their ships.
Samuel Perry
they can if they get chained squigs, which any self respecting ork would get asap on their ships.
Kayden Carter
>imperial macros have outstanding damage No they don't. They have a moderately high amount of alpha damage but their damage per minute is an extremely mediocre 90 or 75 for plasma.
They're certainly better than lances (possibly except vs orks) but they're pretty rubbish overall and could probably do with a modest damage buff so bad imperial players on the forum would whine less about every other race needing to be nerfed.
Samuel Harris
Im currently running an ork carrier fleet with no squigs its pretty fun when chaos fleets realise they dont have as many bombers as me but the chain warp out sometimes completely fucks my fleet up makes the ships expensive too, 116 points for a light cruiser with no guns. still, lets me take suicide squads of brutes >mfw 5 brutes BRB into an imperial battlecruiser
Blake Hernandez
So the secret to literally every matchup is "target their engines"?
If I try to stay anywhere remotely in range, I get chain-traktored into their fleet. It's extremely painful, for me. I want the hurting to stop.
Carter Rogers
Chaos weapons batteries perform even worse. Which is ridiculously inconsistent with tabletop considering the high firepower of chaos batteries. The numbers in the game are really weird, they seem like they must have been derived from tabletop in some way, but half of the weapons are impossibly shitty, like they just pulled the number off a spreadsheet, but didn't check the in-game result to see if it did what they wanted it to E.G. missile pod turrets, which are so bad it beggars belief.
Logan Thomas
Sometimes it's "target their generators, but also still ram them" if you're an ork.
Jacob Murphy
>So the secret to literally every matchup is "target their engines"? pretty much. a ship critted engines can only limp around and is easily outmanouvered (and so killled) except eldar who are slower as much and can use their boost often. target their generators instead which takes out the holofields I'm pretty sure.
Josiah Ortiz
> target their generators instead which takes out the holofields That's correct. I usually go for the generators first since every race enjoys shields.
Bentley Green
Putting Imperial Navy favour on a couple of ships. What are some good upgrades to give the Cobra?
Grayson Brooks
eh. I mainly play IN and chaos and losing my sheilds doesn't bother me too much. It's when I'm too slow to play the kiting game or don't have the speed too manouver to my advantage in a brawl that I get my shit kicked in.
Lincoln Johnson
I think it's somehow based on the trying to convert the total firepower of a tabletop ship into total damage per second/minute of a vidya ship, probably based on the basic cruisers.
I don't know that is was a very good way to do it.
Dylan Howard
The faster torpedoes is the absolute first pick.
Beyond that, I go for the hull and shield boosts to help them survive marginally longer. The extra turrets upgrade could also be useful if you want them in more of an AA destroyer build.
Jaxon Lopez
If you don't mind microing them a bit they can survive to launch more then one volly if you make them run the fuck away after they attack. Nothing like getting someone to chase a cobra away from a battle with a LC and give you 2 on 1 with your line ships on theirs.
Nolan Sanders
playing fast fleet orks against chaos is fun
Caleb Carter
At least chaos can get away with having shitty weapons because they at least have speed and range and good carriers. Imperial ships are just bad.
Asher Smith
whats the best escort for orks
Nathan Collins
Savage Gunship vs most things. Onslaught vs Eldar.
Aiden Lopez
What do you expect from the vanilla faction?
They're easily accesible, good in the right hands, but otherwise meh
Thank the emprah for torpedos taunt and mwj though
Michael Taylor
savages en masse with minimal lineships else take ramships unless you brought a lot of chained squigs
Grayson Taylor
Acutely they take a crazy amount of macro to not be fucking terrible. With Chaos you can turn everything on autocast along with running silent and bombers then go make a sandwich to win half your matches
Camden Peterson
I bet youre a ham and cheese pleb
Roast beef and peppers masterrace
Isaiah Morales
>The fuckers that pray to four giant quasi-sapient warp entities because life is too hard for them being cowardly bitches and attacking from afar when they can get away with it and running away when they can't.
Gee, what a surprise.
Austin Hernandez
>They're easily accesible They really aren't, though because they barely do any damage and have to micro like crazy to simultaneously be in range and at an appropriate angle to deal damage while trying to chase eldar/chaos kiters and evade ork-rape.
A decent IN player will lose out to a mediocre any-other-faction player because they have actually strengths to play to and reliable ways of dealing damage.
Jayden Myers
But lances don't work on homofields...
>autocorrect knows. I ain't gonna change it
Jeremiah Garcia
Bitch, I'm too fabulous to penetrate!
Levi Ross
>ork vs ork >he is winning >kill a ship >all his dudes warp out DEM PANZIE GITS
Austin Lewis
> void combat waifu
James Ross
I've been doggedly sticking with my IN fleet recently to try and git gud with them but it does feel like they're a little underpowered.
You either have to go all out with long range firepower or all out with brawlers to be effective, but you usually can't because of limited slots. So you end up taking a mix and aren't powerful enough in any one area. Each part of your fleet gets picked off by Orks who steamroll or Chaos who can evade your stronger ships
Ethan Nelson
Ramming makes campaign so much easier. Most your enemy's vulnerable to it and have less amour than you. I even ram nemesis to death through their ship are pretty big and i take big damage too, i end then quickly.
Eli Edwards
Too bad you can't stop them from escaping by ramming them.
Final Finishing Move, EMPERORS DIVINE RETRIBUTION!!!
Connor Howard
why are eldar players such turbofaggots? i'm sick of chasing one light cruiser around the map with the majority of my fleet for 10 minutes then losing because they were the defender in cruiser clash
Zachary Cook
Summon now Rear Admiral drawfag! We need him and his wonderful drawings!
Xavier Allen
I am still in communication with BAttlefleet Veeky Forums, though I am a bit busy for the moment. Once I'll be operational again, I'll resume on my work.
Nathaniel Bennett
>why does the hit-n-run race not engage me in a straight up slugfest?
Leo Ward
there's hit and run, and then there's trying to win on a technicality despite taking more losses. while attacker/defender makes sense for objectve based battles, in cruiser clash it should at least count the points value of surviving ships if it comes to a timer end.
Nathaniel Foster
What is the best favour to put on a Voidstalker?
Asher Ortiz
Now you just sound like Wideborn when he was whining about his loss to Yang.
Justin Thompson
Cruiser clash has shit victory conditions. It should be based on percentage of total points destroyed, based on ship HP lost.
The fact that one side is a defender is stupid, it's symmetric warfare.
Kevin Hall
user, you still get points from killing/crippling his ships, besides, why didn't you split your force and try to come at him from two sides?
Carter Scott
i'm afraid I'm not familiar with your reference to characters from Mongolian throat songs
Gabriel Williams
I agree with you that the concept of attacker/defender in cruiser clash is a dumb mechanic. That's a fault with the game, not players. You shouldn't hold it against a player who is probably outnumbered and outgunned taking advantage of the game mechanic in order to win.
Luis Bailey
In legend of the galactic heroes Gaiden: Spiral Labyrinth episode 1... >Yang Wen-Li joins alliance military school >During his school time he and another student called Malcolm Wideborn engage in a simulated combat scenario >Yang moves his fleet to destroy Wideborns supply lines while Wideborn tries constantly to engage yang in a decisive battle >When Yang had destroyed his opponents supply lines he moved back to his more defensible position towards which Wideborn started moving >Wideborn had to retreat thoguh due to the lack of supplies and the battle was officially won by Yang >After the simulation Wideborn complained that Yang had simply kept on fleeing him and had they engaged in one on one combat, Yangs fleet would had been destroyed
Later on during the series and the main series, Wideborn would end up as a corpse and receive a double promotion to the rank of Rear-Admiral after the 6th battle of Iserlohn, while Yang became the youngest Fleet admiral in Alliance history.
Chase Diaz
The entire point of cruiser clash is that it is a meeting engagement and both sides have no objective beyond either destroying or driving the enemy force off. Spending the entire game running away and "winning" on a technicality brought about by bad programming is something that can and should be critizised.
Evan Reed
I headcanon defender being the side to receive reinforcements when the timer ends, so the attacker must destroy the enemy fleet before they get reinforcements.
Aaron Martin
Not that user but.
>implying that LoGH make sense
Jace Nguyen
Scram before i semi-circle you to death!
Oliver Lee
Rear Admiral Drawfag reporting in ! Started to work on the WIP on the next command, "FUKKEN XENO" Spire & ramming edition. Comments and criticisms welcome.
Gavin Richardson
Through sheer force of will and Britishness, Spire can breathe in space. I like it.
Lucas Green
Or is an Augmenticist with Machine trait(1+), or Void Skin implant, but yes.
perhaps should I add a rating behind trying to give something like a coat "you'll get cold sir..."
David Thomas
Carrying a cup of hot tea and his greatcoat, going "You'll catch a spacecold, sir."
I like it, but I'll let others weigh in when they wake up.
Aiden Carter
>You'll catch a voidcold sir
Nicholas Diaz
Just unlocked the battleship slot in campaign what should I get the Emperor or the Retribution?
Robert Morgan
carriers are a trap for imperials, barring the mars for interceptor fighters. retribution all the way
Thomas James
I took Retribution and it's pretty great, one ramming something smaller that him and it's gone GOOOOOONEEEEEEE.
Ayden Myers
You're a gem, drawfag.
Luis Stewart
Do you want a ship that has shitloads of torps on it and can ram shit to death? take Retribution.
Do you want a carrier? Take Emperor.
Jayden Hughes
>Void Skin implant Is this a thing? Because I want to know more about this.
Brandon Moore
I took the Retribution and haven't regretted it.
Sure hope I can unlock another Battleship slot though. Would like to try the Emperor once.
Asher Sanders
The emperor is horrible. The retribution isn't great either, but it's at least somewhat usable.
Matthew Diaz
You don't. So if you want to try it you need to make another ademeral for skirmish or replace your retribution.
The Emp lacks torps, but has some cool macro weapons and that damn cool prow.
Kayden James
Void Skin implant is describded in Rogue Trader (the RPG). somehting that allow you to stay for longer exposed to the void than normal. Even better, becoming an Augmenticist or being a Techpriest allows you to get the Machine trait, which means you no longer need to breath nor suffer the il effects of the void.
I've run away with your idea, now you canr ead l that in the Master-Gunner voice. And added an other classic to boot.
