Warhammers!

Hey Veeky Forums, I know you talk about Warhammer a lot, but you hardly ever talk about Warhammers!

What's the best kind, flat headed or ones with rounded heads?

>flat headed or ones with rounded heads?

Both are equally shit, flat heads distribute too much force and rounded heads are deflected too easily.

You want a nice, small striking surface to maximize power that can also grip into armor as it strikes so it doesn't lose energy over curved or glancing angle surfaces.

Isn't that basically just a mace at that point?

>Punky Knight
Dildo-headed hammers

By Flat headed, I'll assume you mean this

And i'll go with flat, those edges look painful unlike the rounded ones

No, it's a warhammer. An actual one. These huge things you see in fantasy would be unwieldy and ineffective against armored targets.

The trouble i always have is that those look like meat tenderisers, and so it adds this whole "I AM THE ASSISTANT TO THE MEAT PREPARATIONS CHEF RAAARGH!" element to anyone weilding one.

What, you don't eat what you kill? How wasteful.

Repurposed splitting mauls where the blunt end is more pronounced or the "sharp" end is dulled down.

I fucking loved Ajax's warhammer in Troy, although it would need a lot of tweakage to make it actually viable in an actual combat situation.

It should not be forgotten that you shouldn't waste energy and opportunities with flurries of swings, but actually use the butt-end of the handle to create an opening, hook the motherfocker with the top end and bring him to fall, then smash his everything with a downward blow as if you would split a god damn log - But you actually mash some organs and grind some bones!

>you're not a fighting trio with a man wielding a fuckhuge meat clever and a mage slinging fireballs while you wield a huge meat tenderizer calling yourselves "The fighting chefs"

Absolute pleb.

Maces actually concentrate less force than a warhammer does because of the alignment of the center of mass and larger surface area.

The advantage to maces over warhammers is that you don't get as fucked if you strike off angle.

Here's a link how fucking great Ajax's maul is.

Please note that it is, in fact, a hollywood film and thus has taken lots of creative freedoms

Ajax for based Greek hero. Only one I know of that got that way through badassery and hardwork rather than the dickings around of the gods. Hector was pretty damn cool too. Shame his brother and Achilleus were both twats.

It always bothered me that Smough's hammer has a flat striking surface

Recall that he was an executioner, not necessarily a warrior. It was likely a ceremonial weapon intended for maximum splattering of soft targets rather than crushing armored opponents.

The best kind is pic related of

Also Smough is inhumanly strong. Having something that big is more about the fact that you could splat like 5 guys at once, considering it'll hit like a truck.

BRB, stealing this.

He was also a 20 foot tall demi-god who LITERALLY shot lightning out of his asshole.

That maulhammer is great, shame about the trainwreck of a movie.

And now the real question is it futa if it's just a really long clit?

She actually has a testicle, it is just internal.

She gon' git Gauled, regardless.

Hell yeah, war hammers. Shame I'm on my phone and not my compy, or I'd dump a few pics I have for concept-art fuel. Closest I have right now is pic related, the one-handed baby brother known as a chipping or miner's hammer - really a tool for, well, mining, but the war hammer was originally based on various tools as well, so there you go.

Or something. Fuck, I'm tired, but fuck yeah war hammers. God's work and all that.

Strength is something but unless that hammer is hollow, there's no way Smough can swing that around. I know he looks fucking heavy and shit, but have you seen the size of that hammer?

But it's a vidyagem, so who cares?

lol, i use one of those to chip away the flux when i arc weld

It is actually full of the 2 bones of the people he ate. Swell guy that Smough.

Thats the part that bothers you? Look at the fucking picture you posted.

Ignore the "2", phone posting.

Bump

Smough is swole as fuck though and also

Most of the google image results for weapons are naked characters holding them for whatever reason.

Smough's hammer still looks fucking stupid though.

this is allegedly a warhammer used by persian dervishes.

What is that bulb above her panties?

The ones that are made of fists!

It was first the latter before some surgeon fucker upgraded her against her will

Cowper's gland

There's an axe attached to that hammer.

Mons.
Look up some anatomy.

The fuck are you talking about?

The main character in spunky Knight had a huge clit. But in one of the manga she was captured by a mad scientist/slaver that "upgraded" her with a functional dick instead of a clit. He was going to sell her as a sex slave but being the massive slut she is she was able to out last him, so he resorted to chemical enhancements, which he left near by and she overdosed him on them, which killed him, when given the chance.

...

I think "It's Hammer Time" would of been a better name, but thank you for the hammer head's.

Infinite hammer works.jpg

Is that really Smough tough? Because I reckon the player can buy and wear it too.

...

Player version of the armor is not exact copy of what Smough is wearing, just made in same style

Find a flaw

Has anyone seen a video accurately depicting flail combat? While I think they are cool as hell, I cannot for the life of me think of how functional they were in combat. Which crazy son a bitch was like yeah, I'll use the flail in combat?

>I couldn't find all the parts to reforge the legendary sword so here's some other bits I found on the battlefield
>just put em all together I'm sure it'll work out

>Which crazy son a bitch was like yeah, I'll use the flail in combat?
Hussites.

They used the flails a lot? I didn't know that, huh.

Better for grinding up tasty tasty bones.

No one really ever appreciates the pick.

One thing I enjoyed about Mount and Blade was that you could actually switch between the hammer end and the pick end.

...

So what's the rake for exactly?

...

I'm guessing it's to widen the point of impact and make the wound/damage harder to repair.

I can't from a combative standpoint, but it looks dumb/gross as fuck.

8/10, would not be seen wielding

>One thing I enjoyed about Mount and Blade was that you could actually switch between the hammer end and the pick end.

That's a really neat mechanic. What difference does it make in gameplay?

Well ,that particular example is a bit crude, but I can definitely visualize an alternative that's aesthetic as fuck.

You think she'd want to keep her uniball well armored, not expose and accentuate it. One solid gut punch and she'd crumple so fast.

Gameplaywise, it's effectively allowing you to switch between a weapon that will kill people and a weapon that will knock them unconscious. Useful for taking prisoners, and it means you don't have to also take a mace or another blunt weapon.

There's a command that you can issue your troops to make them use non-lethal weapons, but unfortunately in most cases that means they just use their fists, which of course are not effective.

That's why it's called a slag hammer. A chipping hammer is used by amateur mineralogists like Andy Dufresne, and a warhammer resembles neither because war.

>attached axe

Spiking cav often got your weapon pulled from your grasp, so it was considered prudent to whack them out of the saddle with a mighty hammer blow before waling on them with the spiky bit as they struggled to rise from the ground.

Guard is too big for its purpose and might get stuck against various opponents in melee. That is more adequate for a sword or something that you want to swing faster and not as a blunt weapon.

Striking heads are too small for a two handed weapon as would be striking range (you'd want a few extra inches of length), again, I'd change guards to use it as a one handed pick, otherwise it wouldn't work.

Tapered point a cutie. might work as a feint wep charge and stab deal (which may explain the guard).

Conclusion: Maybe a specialist weapon to deal against a particular set of weapons or armor, good all around offense but needs more compromise towards one area to develop kill potential.

I'm pretty sure it's a dueling weapon made for tournaments. As far as I can tell, it has all the advantages of half-swording with the added bonus of knocking a nigger the fuck out.

pass me the blunt.jpg

...

Yeah, honestly the melee part of the medieval tournaments was almost perfect for war hammers and other blunt weapons.

how does Veeky Forums feel about lumping axes in with warhammers? They're both large, swinging weapons, both kinda more about tearing through things through sheer momentum than via sharpness - like does it really matter whether you're using a pointy war hammer or dull edged battle axe?

Mechanically speaking they should be treated identically, shouldn't they?

Which is best, Veeky Forums?

The spiky one on the right is the one I'd be the most scared of being smacked with.

Is the spring/coil purely for a handle? or does it serve another purpose?

Does he have a sleeve coming out of a sleeve?
10/10

It's just a handle man. Probably cheaper to make than adding an actual rubber handle.

The one he posted is a cheap polymer-coated one. That shit comes off the minutes you start actually using it to knock flux off a weld.

I think you could make the argument that the way it's designed ensures that heat isn't as quickly transferred to the handle as it would if it were attached directly to the shaft 100%, but I always wear gloves when using one so it makes no difference to me either way.

Keeps the handle from getting hot if you're using in while welding...or rather, let's it cool down quicker than a solid handle.

For me axes give a bonus versus shields and blocking with a hafted, while warhammers ignore heavy armour. It's not exactly realistic, but I prefer giving the players choice. If you start lumping big swingy weapons together, the only other options left will be spears and swords.

Yeah, it's clearly a coat designed to stay firmly in place like a normal coat, but to also have the flappy unsused sleeves you get when you just wear a coat perched on your shoulders like a badass.

That is LITERALLY from porn. Seriously, shut up.

More clothes and armor they wear, the more they have to sexily take off.

Only plebs don't find practical heavy armor intrinsically sexy, just consider how sexy a woman in full plate is under all that armor. Your dick will grow a can opener.

It's no penis. She has one of those too for special occasions.

No, that was the weaponsmith from a land of futas who had TWO penises, who she fucked to get that +2 vorpal sword at a discount.
