How would your last character handle this situation?

How would your last character handle this situation?

The woman every time

Grab maiden, swing her round and tell her to grab the chest or I'm using her as a meat tobaggon to reach it myself.

Princess.

Seriously, from an in character perspective, rule of paladin trumps most other concerns. Even if I didn't play paladins, I just don't think I could honestly play the kind of character that'd chose money over a life.

And to add to that last point, treasure isn't really worth much. I know it has a worth, but it's fairly easy to get more. I don't care about having a large amount of it, since there's rarely anything I want or even need to buy.

Also she's qt.

What did Conan do?

Wait, both are within arm's length. I've got two arms. I can have it all!

>47194314
I'mma guess treasure, he's got a bad track record with wimmens.

The chick
he's gay but a person is worth more than treasure.

>Both within arms length

Unless your last character only had one arm, this isn't even a problem

>girl is qt but has shit personality
drop her, grab chest

>girl is ugly but has nice personality
I save her

>girl is qt and has nice personality
I save her

>girl is ugly and has shit personality
drop her, grab chest

if my character had arms like conan, they would grab both

Neither. I wait for both to fall to their ground and scavange the remains.

>What did Conan do?

Didn't he grab both, since they were both in arm's reach and he was strong enough to carry both due to being Conan and not just some dudebro?

>woman is treated like an object
wow, ok

Save the girl, then go collect the gold from the smashed chest the bottom of the cliff.

The gold will still just as precious after it's hit the ground. The girl, not so much.

This. She doesn't look that heavy, you can one-hand that.

the woman

See

>hand on the ledge

The gold. She can hold on for 6 seconds.

Money, wait a while to create tension and then rescue the maiden since he could Fly.

You can at least catch her reasonably. But are you fast enough to both grab her and grab the chest?

The chest, you can just throw on the ground behind you easily once you got enough of a grip on it to throw it back. But the woman, you have to at least grab a limb, maaaybe the braid, and physically pull her up.

I'm going to presume distance you want is actually extensive enough to prevent grabbing both, otherwise there is no game.

In which case: the girl. Always the girl. Some cash is going to get me some wine and some whores, but this one is better.

Being fucking Conan, he can just pull her up by one hand I expect.

Isn't a body, living or not, an object in motion?

a treasure can be replaced or retrieved, but a life cannot

The girl, obviously.

Besides, from the pic alone, I have no idea if there's even anything in the box.

Even if there's treasure in there, it will survive the fall. The girl won't.

My last character can save both, because he controls gravity.

But if he couldn't, he'd save the woman over the treasure.

My party would all save the girl except the Druid who'd go for the chest and the Fighter who'd be more then capable to grabbing both considering he can, and does, literally, carry half the party a fair amount.

You can sell whatever is in that box once, but you can sell the girl every night.

They laughed when I min-maxed arm length.

underrated post

He'd save the lady. He's not even into humans (Vargr in Traveller) but he is already pretty rich (as are the other characters in the party) so unless his boss tells him to grab the box he will save the lady.

Especially if said person can becomea prostitute and earn you more than that pesky little treasure.

Either that or you could ransom her (if she is royalty) or sell her to slavers.
Plus, you can have fun with her prior to that.

A life is replaced with snu-snu. Didn't teach you about bees and flowers? The ancient treasure of the lost people of awesomia cannot be replaced.

gold. play a dwarf rogue/ranger who gets rather ridiculously complex contracts for literally every minor job... and has forgery for... well... some people die and end up holding out on us... this makes sure we are well compensated regardless.

kek

My exalted character would save the person, but immediately regret it. Threaten her life if she mentions this to anyone. Then jump after the gold, being an air caste with a sister that gets really pissy unless we make a profit.

My PF would go for the gold, find her corpse and use speak with dead to ask if she's good enough money for a raise dead spell.

Woman.
Chests are sturdy.

My character would get the girl but would be very sad for the next couple of days.

>woman

It's a game asset, not a woman. I bet you're one of those fucks that complains when a bunch of pixels come together to make an image resembling an attractive womam

She'd save the woman. Chaotic neutral lesbian always goes for poon before mysterious boxes, unless she wants to find out what's in the box, then she'll have to hope the woman is good at the "tuck and roll" technique.

Grab the woman, and probably get her to help find all the gold? I mean, it's got to stop somewhere.

The woman. She'll save her, treat her with respect, offer her clothing, food and comfort and even escort her home.

Playing an exiled Drow who still considers herself a true citizen of Menzoberranzan and wants to go home, living in the horrifically sunlit world above full of Drow hating people not without good reason, mind you she'd take a perverse joy from the simple fact that this lady now owes her life to a Drow.
She'll go home, collapse into her families arms and cry her heart out for hours knowing the only reason she still lives at all is all at the grace of one of those spider-buggering monsters that all but decimated the world not even a handful of years ago.

It may even work out assuming the rest of the party will stay back and not ruin the allusion. Because one look at their pale skin and she'd instantly assume, half correctly, that I'm their slave or captive, kept on a short leash and forced to help people out as a type of penance.

Living beings are called subjects instead of objects. To call one otherwise is to imply it is non-living.

Wow nice 3rd world understanding of English there, hon.

No.

Depends, do I know her? Do I like her?

Probably by fleeing while Conan was distracted

Both or neither, depending on the context. As a vampire, she's fast and strong enough to do both, but also has little fucks to give without good reason.

Meat tobaggon

I am referring to you as an object in this sentence.

Depends whats in the chest. Is it something new I can learn that will bring me closer to my goals? The chest.
Does the person know something or is someone that can help me achieve my goals? Then the person.
If both can do that, which ever is more valuable or unattainable from somewhere else.
If either of them put me in any kind of harmful or compromising position that would get me killed, than neither.
Self preservation comes first, followed very very closely on anything that can expand my magical knowledge.

There's always more gold to be had.

Grab the girl.

>lol le edge XD is sooo cool!
This is why we don't let you play in our campaigns, Carl.

>Both within arm's range

spread arms, grab both

alternatively, grab the girl,i know my GM and the chest is probably a mimic anyway

>Cast feather fall on the woman
>Grab the treasure
>Immediately regret both decisions, as they can't spend that treasure on a deserted island and the woman is going to cost them yet more of their dwindling food supply

The Astartes are sworn to protect humanity. A box of baubles is nothing compared to a human life.

Of course, if the box was full of mission critical materials/holy relics/Mcguffins....
He'd still probably save the chick. He's not on the Salamander level of trying to protect civilians, but he's getting there.

Ya know trolls feed on (You)s, right?

"Why the fuck should I care about a random falling box/person? It's not like they're my problem."

There's always more girls to fuck.

Grab the chest.

Also women cost a lot of money.

Last character was a necromancer. Grab chest, animate woman to carry chest.

>Both within arm's length

Go prone. Grab both.

41 > KEK > 39

>Truth table flashbacks

What would my character do? Save the girl and then make her my bitch (along with the other 5 girls i saved before)

Pretty sure I've read this one and he goes for the treasure because there was a real problem with the girl. Like she was a real asshole or something.

Chaotic evil mind: Save the girl. Then push her

Save the person. As a robot programmed to keep people safe, going for the loot wouldn't even occur to it as a real choice.

Consider: the chest could actually contain two small peopler.

>Either that or you could ransom her (if she is royalty) or sell her to slavers.
>Plus, you can have fun with her prior to that.

>Trying to ransom a wench who has lost her virtue

I can't secure my right to my neighbor's throne with that shit. Here's 10 shekels, take it or leave it.

If she is a princess and her male relatives actually like and love her they may pay. Of course they'll be after your dick and try and castrate you later for raping their sister/daughter.

"both within arms length"
reach out with both arms

Do I get the xp for dropping her to her death and, if so, how close am I to leveling?

Probably save the woman if it's someone I know, but if I'm dungeon crawling a place that's been unlooted for ages and I know I wasn't followed... Let that doppleganger bitch drop Imma get dat gold. I can rez her ass anyways if she's human, dgaf if she ends up something else.

Reach for nothing, transcend Maya.

She'd be really torn.
Not because of the chest and it's pretty baubles but because of the girl.
Without time to divine the ladies fate she is now stuck with saving her and potentially altering her tapestry of fate or leaving her to die and and achieve much the same.

Since she has started to walk among the mortals again she has been afraid of upsetting their tapestries to much, failing to realise that since becoming one of the Disir, her very nature is to weave, the warp and weft of their life manipulated at her finger-tips.

She'd likely save her regardless. Her morals and outlook still shaped by her prior mortal life.

In the mindset of my last character, save the woman. She is wearing nice jewelry, which means she is worth something to someone. Find out who that someone is, and ransom her off.

>"Unfortunately, I can't pay what you demand. My wife was carrying the family fortune in a treasure chest. Surely you have that now, so please show mercy, keep it and leave us our life and our love."

>be intermediate summoner
>have summoned creature as close friend

>send creature to grab chest
>grab woman
>chide creature for almost losing his footing
>chide other allies for not helping
>chide villain for setting this up in the first place
>chide woman to keep up chiding streak

My summoner's kind of a jerk.

The gold. He's already got a family AND a band of thieves, he can't afford another mouth to feed.

>chide treasure chest in case it's a mimic

Woman, then fly to bottom to get chest.

>the family fortune is just some outdated savings bonds

Seriously, we have no idea if what's in the chest is of any worth.

1) Wait for both to fall
2) Raise the corpse of the woman
3) Command her to fetch me the treasure.
4) Consume the soul, dispel undead.

It would be in character.

>chide mimic for not joining the party

...

Not in English, they're not
they're not usually referred to as "objects," admittedly, but people aren't "subjects" unless you're talking about their being ruled by a king or something

Well, it depends on the value of whatever is in the box.

If the box is anywhere over 750g in value, I'd go for the box, spend a resurrection spell on the woman for 500g and keep the rest

>Implying my dwarf barbarian didn't get himself stuck in the box and is currently hurdling off a cliff while another party member has to choose between him and the party slut-charisma,

>Both within arms length
Reach out both arms?

Fortunately, my current character has a way of being in two places at once.
Putting tat aside though, she would rescue the woman every time, because saving a life over gaining wealth is just the right thing to do.

Getting pretty tired of damsels in distress, so she can just keep falling if that one hand on the ledge doesn't work out for her.

Using both my hands for treasure, which will make me infinitely more desirable to all women, including the falling damsel in the event she manages to not die.

Good heavens the MYSTERY CHEST is going DIE if it falls to the ground!!!

Save the mystery chest!

>both fall
>both within arm's reach
>wat do

Use both arms?
How is this even a question?

Welp ...

/thread

>subtly calling the woman an object
Heh.

the woman is a woman but the MYSTERY CHEST could be anything... even a WOMAN!

Move so fast that he can grab the girl in one hand and rush over to the chest and also grab it

>Both are within arm's reach
Grab both, if both are within my reach I can obviously grab both of them at once.

>one object on one side, one on the other
UM
EX
CUSE
ME
SHITLORD

This. Treasure is still treasure, even when smashed a little.

Hot bitches just turn into low quality meat.

Grab box, Fly on Girl, Feather Fall.
