So what best strategy for chaos in multiplayer? Spam bombardiers?

Use stealth to break contact and let you shoot them when they can't shoot you. Stay away and use long range shit. You are the longest range and sneakest race.

What skills and upgrades, what ships?

not that playstyle, but i've been having great fun with 2 slaughters with extra boost gauge, camo, no boost reveal, AP ammo, khorne favour, sensor disruptor and gauge recharge skill, being able to disappear and strike out of nowhere when they least expect it is amazing fun.

daily reminder that playing IN is like dressing like a slut

you're asking for it

Why do you need AP ammo when chaos mostly have those laser that count amour as 25% anyways? How well sensor distruptors work?

Albeit a slut with a very big, reinforced, strap on

next update when, the game is very sad to fight eldar in atm for better or worse

>be IN
>match against chaos
>bring 2 mars BCs to ward off the inevitable bomber spam
>think I'm gold
>launch fighters and wait for the BEES
>BEES go after my lead dauntless
>burn retros and put it behind both mars BCs
>suddenly, torpedo launch to starboard
>it's way off course
>i lel
>suddenly, fighter screen runs after errant torpedoes
>bombers power through escort turrets via sheer weight of numbers
>dauntless reduced to less than half life in an instant

Sasuga chaos

What do you mean user?

Dead game... Dawn of War 2 currently has more players on Steam.

Fucking lazy fuckers, what are they doing

Space Marines months after release date... no eldar balance fixes...

because every little helps? i'm considering swapping it out for asteroid shields though

Asteroid shields seems fun, too bad you some times get map with no asteroids.
Also you get no damage from asteroids while shield up or even when hes down?

Considering that chaos ships have the lowest damage per minute weapons in the game every little doesn't just help, every little is absolutely necessary.

Unless bombers, then you're fine.

But doesn't AP ammo works on 3 click or less and you don't want to be that close?

Not sure, but you're concealed when stationary in an asteroid field with them.

Died trying.

Yeah, you don't want to be that close. Unless you're running Khorne/Nurgle.

So best to go all bombers setup?

I like how the mission failure prompt of that one goes.

>>Do you read me, Spire? Spire? SPIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!
>>retry

That's how the Chaos AI seems to roll. Hiding just on the edge of asteroid fields, sending out deathswarms and hammering silent running as soon as you ID them.

Kek

I love moments like this in game, whether it's me or the enemy. It's always fun spawning in a gas cloud and luring the enemy into ramming distance with escorts.

>Charging out at AAF with 3 Imp cruisers with ramming spurs behind a wall of torps
>StormbringerDeepPurple.mp3

Really? Top kek

I came

Just got a Dominator, what cruiser should I get next?

Either a tyrant or another dominator
Both have very powerful broadsides, it' sustain that one has torpedoes and the other a nova cannon.
Last, but not least, you could get a gothic, it becomes a very nice lance-boat, with good support capabilities with the lance range upgrade

Thanks user

i'm also trying to pick my battles, and hit them with augur disruptor before attacking then running

Why all the hate on the Dictator? I've had decent luck with it as a 2nd place lineship behind a Dominator and before a Gothic. It's got enough macros to support the gunline, can take a ramming spur and has torps, and it's ordinance bays let your line of battle reach out and hurt people/provide fighter cover.

The dictator is fine, IMO, but what it can do, the Mars can do better, albeit at a higher price tag.

It's fine for smaller point games, but any time you can fit a Mars in, it's probably a better choice. I still got one though, and named it Macharius, for reasons I hope would be obvious.

Same here on the naming. I just don't care for the Mars really. I'm not a huge nova fan, and I like being able to ram. Plus in a 600pt game I'd rather have 4 line ships rather than 3.

I can see how the Mars can be better at times. I had a game a couple nights ago against 2 Admech Mars'. They raped my ships hard. But still...I picture your pic when I deploy my Dictator

Can confirm that and works.
Keeping Vandez alive in the last mission is a pain because he won't even try to avoid the PK's ray of Death.

It's actually quite easy to use the thing, and I started loving it after a while.
Maybe it's just because I love fighting at long range?

Multiplayer such pain.
Started ork and all i do is lose.
I get matched with obviously higher players.
When i don't it's damn chaos spamming bombers and i don't even can get close.

Go full speed my Ork friend, on 97pt light cruisers. You're already tough/shooty enough, you don't need those upgrades or skills till later. Double-Boost is the best.

Well im pretty much doing this but it's not enough.

What's the best strategy for the campaign in general? Is each battle you don't do a permanent loss? Can you skip main missions for a turn? What should one prioritize?

If you want easy time go for ramming ships, get close, use your powerful broadsides. Torpedo all you got at start in enemy direction.
Killing insubordination captain denies exp, so better don't.

just let exterminatus happen it is the emperors will.

prioritize on saving hive worlds, cardinal, prison, schola, and gateway worlds are of secondary concern to you if you wish to save battlefleet gothic.

The less deployments your have the better that way you can conserve your ships and avoid costly upgrades.

Lose as many aritfact as you can, they backfire on you in a big way.

Under no circumstance should you ever ram or fire on the warma- I mean Abaddon's glorious temple with massed torpedoes

Chalice and Apocalypse when?

So on TT, what's the best IN battleship to take if I'm going to be fighting Tyranids? I'm trying to make my first fleet and I need to know what BB to get first.

wait a minute...

I like your style brother.

Hey, matey! I like how you think! In fact, I might just happen to know a friend that would just LOVE to spend some time with you!

I'm craving more content for this so badly. What makes me sad is now all my IN ships are level 10 I have no reason to play as anything but orkz.

Though orkz make for da best shitpostin.

>admiral: DANALD KRUMP
pregame: WE IZ BUILDING DA WALL. GIV US YER TEETH OR YER BITZ.
on enemy warp out: YE AV TO GO BACK.
on shield or energy crit: YA LOW ENERGY GITZ
whenever I feel like (and especially on big red button: MORK AN GORK ATTACK (MAGA MAGA MAGA)

One day, I'll meet chaos admiral Hilldawg. It'll be glorious.

The best strategy is to win fleet battles and not lose ships. Try to avoid losing, as this is bad. With this advice you should do well next time.

If recaster-user is still here, don't forget that there are some eldar forgeworld ships on ebay right now, and I would buy at least one of each light cruiser, and some transports. They'll be over in about 14 hours.

How can we fix the Nova Cannon /bfg/?

it's pretty alright as it is, basically useless when you get to brawling and not enough by itself to bombard the enemy the entire match.

It seems OP when your trashed light cruiser tries to disengage so it can warp out and gets annihilated by a nova blast, but I don't think that's unfair considering the cheese other fleets are capable of.

Is the mission where you protect the inquisitor one that you are supposed to fail?

beat it
>Inquisitors ship blows up and breaks apart as soon as it heads into the warp
>Starts playing his defeat speech
>Victorious pops up on the screen and interrupts him

THUSLY DID THE EMPEROR DECREE

"Eh, close enough"

AND IT WAS GOOD

I love it when that happens

How much of a difference does the ramming prow upgrade make?

Lots and lots

God damnit people are such salty cunts in multiplayer. I haven't seen people bitch so much since I played COD multiplayer years ago.

About 50% more

Muh lineships

>The punishment for disobedience is DEATH! *BLAM*

Based commissar.

Only one mission is impossible to win, the one where the first Blackstone Fortress appears (even if it gets to -100hp, it'll still warp out). All other missions are winnable. I managed to keep both the Hand and the Eye first time through on normal difficulty. Just ram everything.

You can win it, just make it warp out before it get to point, not hard to do, just start torpedoing it at very beginning. Sure you can't ram this thing but it burns good.

Well you can it just ends very badly for you.

Dose free mines tho

Just keep firing torpedoes.

Emperor. Gives you fighter coverage to deal with the huge amount of attack craft nids can put out while providing ranged support for taking out swarms or at least putting blast markers on more important ships to cut their speed. It'll be hanging back enough that the +5 armour isn't as much of an issue unless you're already fucked.

Thanks man, had my eye on the Apocalypse for the cannon, but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

2010 update nova cannon is tricky because of the scatter dice. Chances are there are enough nids you hit something, but being forward arc means you're probably closing distance on a fleet that wants to close with you. The apoc has a nasty lance broad side for when/if you get stuck in, but doesn't have much to do until then.

Oberon trades too much weapon battery firepower and range for 2 lance shots and less attack craft. The Victory class isn't total hot garbage, but it isn't doing anything special against nids, maybe poping an escort or two before they close. Retribution could work in some cases, has a lot of damage output and can throw a strong sucker punch torpedo salvo but I've yet to face a nid fleet that wasn't taking advantage of being able to launch twice as many attack craft so the Emperor's fighter coverage just seems more effective.

You might want to look at the Dominion class battlecruiser. Its got 4 lances at 45cm and 4 attack craft at 260pts.

Huh, missed that battlecruiser when I was looking over the rulebooks, seeing it side by side with the Jovian, the Jov's extra hanger bays look tempting if I wanted to forgo the fighter coverage on the battleship front.

Not sure about the Victory as it is, seems too similar to the Apoc' to me.

I'd love to try and make an Oberon, but the only player in my area does Nids', so you're probably right on that front.

Alright, so Emperor it is, I have nothing against it anyway. Dominion looks tempting, but I dunno' man, the Jov' looks fun if I just wanted to go full carrier against this guy. I have a soft spot for the Dictator as is.

What should I do if I want to have the maximum amount of boarding actions as ork? All line ships with grots, waaaagh and shokk attacks? Or everything into escorts and one line waaaagh ship?

Use Waaaaagh! and Goffs favor.

So, all line ships? I'm not sure, but I think escorts can't have favors.

Escorts can't even board, man.

If you want max boarding, go with lines equipped with Taunt and Waaagh with Goffs favor attached, it gives a plus one to any boarding done by said ship, attached to the normal Ork bonus to boarding and Waaaagh, you can string up to five boarding attempts per ship.

Make Armageddon Great Again

When playing Chaos MP, which is a better battleship: Despoiler or Desolator? Why?

Despoiler.

Overall, it has more weapons, launch bays, and forward facing guns. It fits far better with the Chaos playstyle than the Desolator does.

The Desolator has the torpedo spread, which is nice and it's only one of like...two Chaos ships with torps, but torpedoes aren't Chaos' game at all. Eldar can just dodge them, Imperials have meltas and faster torpedoes, Orks, like the IN, can fire more and send boarding ones. So you can't really outdo them at their own game.

Secondly, the Desolator has merged batteries, these do plenty of damage and all, but each boarding attempt that takes out a weapon does that much more harm because unlike the Despoiler, each weapon isn't its own thing.

Desolator is a more frontlines style broadsides ship that can kite and occasionally fire off some torps. Despoiler can kite as well as giving powerful forward fire and has a whopping four launch bays. It's more well rounded.

With Imperial Navy you need a lot of skill to make it work.

With Orks I don't care the traktor beam thingy is way to much fun. Especially when you destroy escorts and light cruisers making them kiss other ships.

>Two Ork ships with traktors
>Using them to push two escorts together
>NOW KISS
How didn't I see it before?! We need Rear Admiral Drawfag immediately!

We need shipfus first.
>Imagine two shipfus being forced to kiss by one ork battlecruiser-chan

Or the classic Big Red Button + Traktor = Kiss me you fool!

>ork captain forcefully kissing an imperial shipfu
>"KISS ME YA ZOGGIN' IDIOT!"

So can anyone confirm me that rate of fire == reload speed? Not really logical.

Also, is there any difference between a light macro turret on a cobra class and its double counterpart on the sword class?
Does the doubled number of attacks means twice the damage?

Warhammer ships as girls mobile game when?

Also, on the vidya of course.

Use a laptop, play orks, name the ships with kawaii ork names. Give them Traktor beams.

Kiss all the enemy ships.

Technically, yes, standard macro turret will shot only one shot, while the double will shoot two
>Inb4 Lord Admiral Obvious

Rate of fire is tied with the reload speed, yes.
The lower the number, the higher rof it has.

Thanks, they should rename it to reload speed so. Where I can make this suggestion?

So, the Cobra is only worth it i I plan to use the torpedoes right? If I just want more raw firepower I should just go with the frigates?

Well, if you want some alpha damage and don't mind microing/setting ships on auto torpedoing and then microing them enough by swinging them a bit here and there, then go with Cobras.
If you want to go with long range artillery, pick Firelances.
If you want close range dps support, then swords.

Firestorms are nice all rounders with the lance+macro turret.
Yes.
Swords are shield killers, high rate of fire, double macro turret, they are also very good against Eldar.
Then, Cobras, nice combo torpedo-turret, but before it I'd prioritise deploying a Widowmaker, because it has torpedoes and an enormous detection range.

>Firestorm: all rounder

>Sword: "fuck your shield, and fuck you elder scum"

>Cobra: Like the firestorm but with torps

>Widowmaker: "HA! I SEE YOU!" Perfect detection range and torps.

In the end, if you wanna do a torp spam, get also a widowmaker.

Praise the Emperor

Id personally recommend picking the shield pen upgrade for lance, the lance range upgrade and then navigational shields so you can hide your artillery fleet inside a asteroid field.

Firestorms have 6k range,no?

Thanks.

With upgrades the lance can go to 9k range.
Also, the build proposed for the upgrades can make really the Firestorm a fun unit to use

Suggestions for Storm?

So here is my idea for how to buff the IN favor, instead of summoning cobras it summons a mine field.

With macros reload and rof are the same. They are breech loaded not magazine fed.

That won't work. Either it you could put the minefield directly on a ship and it would just be "target ship takes damage", or it has a cast radius like micro-jump and it never hits at all because people dodge it. If you gave it a timer like a bomb... then it's just another bomb. Why take it over Mechanicus, for bomb+upgrade?

The only time I've ever seen people hit mines is when Orks are around: either they Red Button, and hit one they couldn't see, or they traktor someone into them.

What the Navy really need, is a better passive buff. Having a loyalty buff on the second most loyal faction is pretty rubbish. Comparing it to the Inquisition's crew point in everything (including commissar) shows how rubbish it is.

So they either must make the shit insubordination does even worse or make all factions more likely to flee the battle.

The idea is they take like a couple of seconds to arm so they can't just be used as point and click damage and what not. The primary use for them I would see is fortifying an advantageous position, such as a gas cloud. Force them to navigate around your mines while filling them up with torps and plasma macros

That sounds good.
But what about ability to summon stationary gun platforms?

I'd like a more efficient and effective macro batteries.

Its the god damn Imperial Navy act like a disciplined bunch.

Or an additional special order.

Make the favour feel like the might of the Imperial Navy is working inside your ships.
