I'll try to remember to put those in the next OP.

Would it be possible to have a Blank animal?

Does the blank gene even exist in anything other than humans?

Ask the Biologis.

But the universe is a big place...

He'd probably conduct experiments to find out.

Thus (potentially) creating blank animals.

I am actually planning to use an "evil character" that isn't properly human but he has a blank gene.

>In truth he is a genestealer offspring.
>But the Pariah gene showed, so the result isn't a proper Genestealer human.
>The human was born normally, but with a sort of Twin Genestealer in it.
>Due to the Psyonic Nature of the Tyrannids, the Xeno twin was somewhat repressed for all of this years, tough it was growing in size, slowly.
>Only the Human know about his mutation, and always hid it behind clothes, like it was some kind of oversized pimple that was growing every year.
>It's also a fervant Imperial Cultist, and he joined the ranks of Ecclesiarchy, and he raised his ranks in no time, becoming an Exorcist at 31.
>But his Xeno twin was growing with time, and he started to influence him indirectly, with visions and dreams.
>One day the enormous Space Hulk named Malsumis reemerged from the warp
>He started to have dreams about Saints and even what he may recall being the Emperor guiding him into the Space Hulk
>An expedition of Techmarines is sent to check for any lost technologies.
>The guy uses his ranks to join the mission, because muh visions, muh faith
>2 weeks passes
>The Techmarines went missing, without any answers at all
>My players are gathered for a very special mission to investigate what happened.
>They will find this guy with some scratches
>He will try to convince the players to bring him into one place.
>The place is what it seems to be an old and sacred place.
>Sadly the place is now full of Genestealers.

Life sucks.

some sort of nigger culexus?

The Genestealer is some kind of coinjoined twin, but only part of the head is showing from the belly (it increases in size as years pass)

that is terrifying. nice.

This is for Deathwatch?

I'm thinking of establishing a dark eldar slave colony. Hear me out. It uses the lottery system to determine who gets picked up back to comoragh . How many humans or xenos would i have to enslave to found said colony? 1000 to start?

My friend who's playing aWeapons Specialist in an OW game I'm DMing has decided to become quite the marksman, what with him using a ton of modifiers to get an 83 BS for his Boltgun.

Pretty cool, I have to say.

Off world meat farm run by a Dark Eldar Kabal? Sounds like a good plan.

Fabricated religion worshiping Dark Eldar. Maybe there's a tournament to see who is the toughest, the winners are taken as a reward. But their fate is, obviously, never told to the colonists.

Just remember that modifiers max out at +60 and -60. But yeah, stacking the bonuses is how you get around having low-ish base stats.

Kind of like warboys! The winners ascend to valhalla!

Dark Heresy.

My players are 3 6000 exp acolytes for a OneShot.

Some threads ago I posted the begin of the story, but I realised that I wanted to wait to the actual game to begin before posting that on here, and I hope you all enjoy.

I like it. Perhaps the Dark Eldar Kabal is woefully under manned. They bolster their forces with humans. When they die in battle, the Dark Eldar drink in their pain to become more powerful.

Human warriors who gain notice of the Dark Eldar are taken by the Homunculi to become "Warriors of the Gods".

Does anyone know if theres a Rogue Trader Suplement with different Pattern Hellpistols or Hot Shot Pistols?

I don't think so, but it would be pretty easy to homebrew a different Pattern

Most all weapons in the 40k RPGs are cross compatible. Look around in the other RPGs, I'm sure there's at least a few.

Im not sating you should do this, but I could totally see a space marine chapter liberating the world from the dark eldar and then continuing the religion in order to get aspirants.

That'd be some serious heresy. But a Renegade chapter could, and should, do this.

From a mechanical standpoint, why would you ever spend 1 of your 12 ability points giving a mount the Blind trait when it doesn't give any benefits?

Hmmm... iirc, pretty sure that'd make it immune to stuff like flashbangs? I dunno.

Rolled 10 (1d20)

Help me roll up a heretic cult for a DH campaigh
>1d4chan.org/wiki/Heretical_Cult_Creation_Tables

first roll is d20 for their background

Only photon flash grenades because the only thing they do is blind you. Actual flashbang grenades i.e. stun grenades use Concussive (2) to do the stunning.

>Errant Adeptus
Great, angry nerds

Next roll is 1d20 to determine their cult of idea

Rolled 3 (1d20)

rollin

>Pleasure Cult: The pursuit of pleasure, whether through partaking of exotic stimulants, the mingling of flesh, or gorging on epicurean delicacies, is a common focus for many cults. Although simple hedonism may seem to be a minor threat at first glance, those willing to place personal indulgence above the Imperium can be surprisingly dangerous if they see their delights threatened.

Fitting, considering that they are pencil pushing nerds.

next we need a 1d100 roll to determine their leadership

I'm thinking of making a mining colony rough rider regiment that also does underwater ops. How would you stat spearguns?

Rolled 54 (1d100)

Adepts don't necessarily need to be from the administratum, they could be astropaths or something.

For added fun, place the cult in a unique position, like they are the only ones who understand how a certain filing system works or they know the procedures to call in vital aid that the system needs. That way, getting rid of them immediately can actually present more of a problem than letting them stay

My spear gun can shoot like 4 or 5 metres but that's because of the cord. It goes straight through fish and keeps flying through the water. Where I go spearfishing the visability is usually limited so if I can see a fish I can kill it. shits fucking dope.

No idea how to stat it though.

Sounds good. I might theme it around an Eyes Wide Shut sort of thing.

You rolled:
>Diumvirate/Triumvirate: The cult has two or three main leaders. Sometimes they work in harmony and sometimes they are in conflict with each other. This fits in perfectly.

Next roll is 1d20 to determine their leadership nature

Stat it like a Laslock, but no smoke screen with rending and critical snare.

Rolled 5 (1d20)

please be a 7

Noble. But let's make him still in the Adeptus, he just happens to be a local noble who joined. He also has considerable resources to call upon because of his wealth and contacts with the nobility.

Next roll is 1d10 for his leadership style

...

Rolled 9 (1d10)

rollin

How fast would you say you can reload it in terms of half/full/etc. actions?

Definitely Full. No doubt about that. Maybe even two full

There are 2-3 spear guns in RT pdfs, non-core.

Aaaand theyre turned into grotesques and wracks. Fuck yes

testing, please ignore

you can't ignore my girth

What is the best book to get a group and DM to get familiar with the rules? We all like Deathwatch and the idea of being marines, but Only War would be a good one for us too if it's good for immersive regiment roleplay (We all have read and love Ghost series)

What should be on a Rogue Trader's must have list of weapons, armor, and gear?

Who could ignore the girth of the 33th?

Yes.

Melta guns, best quality plasma guns, best quality carapace/power armor, your ship, etc.

Does the effect of Razor Sharp apply after all modifiers to pen are done or does it apply to base pen first then external modifiers to pen are added on?

I'd apply it to base pen first, then add any modifiers.

you have got to have at least one digi-weapon

Alright, so I'm not 100% sure how this is supposed to work, but in the Rogue Trader book it shows Rank 1 and a bunch of stuff in it. Since we're starting at Rank 1, I can purchase anything in that little box for the listed amount of xp, but don't start with everything in there, right?

Now posted in the right thread.

>Not having a digiweapon on each digit, including toes.
>Not having a digiweapon grill so you can kill with a smile.

Where can one find digi-weapons?

Space monkeys. No joke.

Be prepared to pay quite a bit though

Let me rephrase that: in which book can one find digi-weapons?

You start with everything in the black box, unless it says "or". The stuff in the Advances tables requires spending XP first.

>40krpgtools.com/armoury/weapons/
Type in "Digi"

So, how many Deathwatch players here acquire beakie helmets as soon as possible and go old school?

Alright, cool. Thanks

Is there anything that lets you play as a Blank in Rogue Trader? Or rules for a Culexus Assassin anywhere maybe?

The Navis Primer has rules for blanks.

Navis Primer has rules for Blanks.
Including the stats for a Culexus Assassin.

Scary motherfuckers.

So my google fu is weak right now. If I'm creating a regiment for OW, and select Well Provisioned, and then add a new type of grenade to my standard kit. Does well provisioned apply to that grenade type, giving me 2 of it, or do I only get the one.

Basically does well provisioned apply before or after you finish picking up additional gear for your standard kit?

I never found it clear either, but we all said it made sense after, so thats how my group did it

Conceptually, how would a Khornate marine who defends simple humans from Marines who threaten them work out? Kind of like a fucked up Paladin is what I have in mind

Depends on how much of a dick your GM is. Since my games are explicitly not balanced, I go with 'applies after'.

>your skulls are MINE to give to Khorne, weakling! But in the meantime your are the bait in my trap.

You could be riding on some parts of the older lore where Khorne finds no honour in harvesting the unarmed.

That, too, could be amusing.

I completely forgot about that old stuff, that helps. Thanks bud. I guess I'd have to figure out a way to make other players not scared of my character because I guess Khornates have a reputation for being unreliable or something.

>I guess Khornates have a reputation for being unreliable or something.
Because they are. Backstabbing is a trade mark of Khorne

To be fair, while Khorne has the most well-known backstabber, I would expect just as much backstabbing from Slaneeshi, and even more from Tzeentchians. Possibly a bit less from Nurglites.

Sure, but out of all 4, Khorne is the one you can trust to betray his allies

They asked for it, ok

Well if they weren't wimps hiding in their tents instead of fighting while in the process of being deep frozen, they wouldn't have been betrayed now would they?

I've got an RT question. It says in Chargen that you get a Talented (Any Skill) if you get a talent that you already have. Does this include when you end up at the actual character class?

I'm mainly asking because if you're an Arch-Militant you get Basic (Universal) but being from a fortress world gives you Basic (SP or Las). Would already having a basic weapon training cause the Arch-Militant to gain a Talented or is the Basic from Fortress world just shoved into the Arch-Militant's Basic (Universal)

Did you check the errata?

It doesn't say anything about it in the 1.4 Errata

Beakie armor is the objective best armor statwise, to the point you should refuse artificer honors. The loss of renown and standing is easily outweighed by the mechanical benefits of the armor.

I would say it should get shoved into the Basic (Universal) and not give any talented. Specific weapon proficiencies are pretty meaningless in RT given how easy universal is to get for everyone, but going from just having Las or SP is still an improvement.

Talented can be a very powerful talent, so I'd also recommend only allowing a player to take it if there is no alternative. If they have a choice between 2 talents, one of which they already have, don't let them pick it again just to get a talented. Even if it means going back to the previous point where they got the talent and picking a different choice there.

Spoken like a knave.

if I were you, I would try to argue to my GM that I'm entitled to the bonus like you get for other skills. Like how if you get navigate (surface) twice in chargen, you get a +10 to it, or whatever. That might have been a houserule, it has been a bit since I looked at the RT book.

>That, too, could be amusing.
especially if you play it like >I'm not sparing you or anything, baka! I'm totally going to brutally murder you later.

Any GM that tries to take my beakie away, I walk from their game.

In un-errata'd Deathwatch what's better, Storm bolter or heavy bolter? I have terminator armor.

I'm pretty sure assault cannon will be better when I can afford that.

Heavy, by far.
The Heavy Bolter is even better than an Assault Cannon. Did you even read the statlines?

Also un-errataed Deathwatch weapons are bad and you should feel bad for using them.

Wait, I'm retarded, the Assault Cannon is still better, but only marginally. Storm Bolter is still a shit.

>47302944
Even though every hit counts as two hits, requiring lower DOS for more dakka?

It packs a significantly smaller punch per hit, which is bad when you consider that everything that isn't a Horde is running around with at least a 8 Toughness Bonus.

Okay, thanks!

Yes. IIRC there was psy-dampening plants in some story.
Also Harlequin Solitaires are blanks. It's not a purely necron thing.

That's a really cool idea, but I don't think it would work with a complete blank, since I'm not sure he could process psychic visions at all, and it would probably block the twin communication with the hivemind.
Maybe make him a regular human that scores some negative psionic level on the assignment instead of someone with the pariah gene ? That should be sfficient to explain the cojointed stealer.

Consider that chain of posts stolen for a future campaign.

I'd stat it as a crossbow without the primitive quality. Available in every core book (reload 2full). Range underwater...2m to 5m ?

If you want to operate operationally, you'd be better of with something like pic related.
Stub revolver without the reliable quality that can't be reloaded, range 5m.
Or hypercavitating or whatever tech bullets, then you can have functional firearms underwater.

As user said it, you have void spear guns in RT : standard version in Into the Storm, and the bigger harpoon gun in Hostile Acquisitions/

Oh yeah. Well, just checked the rules and terminators can't even carry any non-storm bolter bolt weapon, so this is my primary armament until I can get an assault canon. Oh well. Such is the price I pay for an effective damage resistance of 24. and the eventual ability to get a chainfist.

>Terminator-Compatible Weapons: Any combi-weapon, Power Weapon or Force Weapon, Storm Bolter, Storm Shield, Heavy Flamer, Assault Cannon, Cyclone Missile Launcher.
Well, this is pretty retarded. I can have a bolter as long a I attach an auxiliary flamethower to it? Not to mention that there are actual termie models with plasma cannons.
I can't believe that every tactical dreadnought armour machine spirit got prissy as a construction flaw.

It's restrictive for the sake of it, I'd houserule against it.

Anybody here played a Tau explorer in Rogue Trader?

Can't say I have
