Hey Veeky Forums, I'm bored so let's roll up an Imperial Guard regiment to pass the time.

Roll a d10 for Regiment Classification.

Rolled 2 (1d10)

Rolling, for the Emperor!!

We are a proper regiment, Guardsman!

Roll a d100 to see what kind of band-of-misfits this regiment is!

Rolled 97 (1d100)

Sir yes sir!

By the Emperor! This really IS a band of misfits!

Guardsman, roll d3+1 times to see just WHO serves in this regiment!

Rolled 1 + 1 (1d3 + 1)

Alright Guardsmen, now roll me a 2d100 to see who your brothers and sisters in arms are from!

Rolled 69, 1 = 70 (2d100)

Hoping for Vat grown priesthood

Vat-Grown men, Guardsman! I will allow you a re-roll of the 1, should you wish to!

If not, proceed to roll a d10!

Rolled 5 (1d10)

Let's save that re-roll for later just in case,

Very well then!

Standard Conscription, good enough for me, good enough for you!

Roll a 2d100 for our home world and it's terrain!

Rolled 84, 86 = 170 (2d100)

An Airless Shrine World! Emperor, we've got something going on here!

Give me a d100 for core units!

Rolled 71 (1d100)

Drop troops! Hallelujah, it's raining men!

D10 for the specialization.

On it Sir!

Guardsman! Do you take me for some sort of fool? Roll properly or I'll distribute the Emperor's Benediction!

Rolled 4 (1d10)

I fucked it up Sir!

Lightning Strike! Drop in, and hit them where it hurts, a real sucker punch!

Now roll a d10 for how loyal these Vat-grown Shriners are! They better be danged loyal, else I'm a fool!

Rolled 3 (1d10)

Of course they're Fanatical, they're Vat-grown Shrine worlders! Guardsman, do you intend to make me look like a fool?

Roll a d100 for our Special Equipment, what in the Emperor's name do we have that others don't?

Rolled 13 (1d100)

War Trophies, eh? Unless these are purity seals or some form of medal, then these guardsmen have something going on!

D100 for their creed!

Rolled 91 (1d100)

Rolled 71 (1d100)

Not OP, but maybe we can combine these?

Steel Over Flesh!

Best of the Best!

Well, guardsmen, Steel over Flesh was rolled first, so that's what we'll be going with!

What? Sure thing!

These guardsmen are augmented and believe themselves to be some of the best around! Perhaps they are, I don't care!

Roll a 2d100 for their friends and enemies!

Rolled 17, 51 = 68 (2d100)

A chapter of the Adeptus Astartes and the Tyranids? Fascinating!

Well, we've finished rolling them up! I'll write up a summary post next!

>Regiment
>Vat-Grown Males
>Standard Conscription
>Airless Shrine World
>Drop Troops
>Lightning Strike
>Fanatical
>War Trophies
>Steel Over Flesh
>Best of the Best

So heavy augmented, ultra skilled, ultra faithful, lightning strike drop troops who are trained to kill even before birth?

I thought this was the guard, not the astartes.

Kek.

But these guys are religious, unlike most Astartes chapters!

So... even more loyal than Astartes?

So you've rolled some elite Skitarii? I mean, it doesn't say anywhere that it has to be a shrine world to the Emperor. Could be a shrine world to the Omnissiah.

Well, they are friends with an Astartes chapter. I bet the chapter definitely recruits from this regiment, and they probably train together as well.

None more loyal!

Could be. Though, I'm pretty sure only Shrine Worlds are dedicated to the Emps, Skitarii are part of Forgeworlds, I'd thought?

Should we roll up a custom Astares chapter?

Sure, but before that I think we should give these guys a name:
Here are some suggestions of mine. Keep in mind that this is just me brainstorming.
>Prexian droppers
>Maxwell Secundus 19th strike team
>Dendrobraxian's vatborn
>Emperors drop legion

I like Dendrobraxian's Vatborn

seconding

>Shrine World is in a sector that relied heavily on Marine protection
>raised some above average PDF regiments for engaging the enemy in fights while Marines operated behind enemy lines
>suddenly Tyranids invade
>the Chapter is (almost) destroyed, but they manage to destroy the Tyranids
>without the Chapter/while it's rebuilding, the PDF takes it upon themselves to fill the now vacant spot of Marines
>raise up this Regiment

Sounds good to me

Yeah, that name's pretty cool to me.

So shall Dendrobraxia be the name of the planet or just the regiment?

It could be the name of the planet.

Alternately, I think it might make sense if Dendrobraxia is the name of the Imperial Saint who made the shrine world holy. Given the fanatical nature of the regiment, it makes sense they might name themselves after a saint.

Maybe the planet can be called Sankt Dendro?

I've got this if we want to further our fluff with the regiment, the planet and the sector as a whole

Yeah, that could work.

All in all, this regiment fit really well together in theme and special abilities. If we want to fluff out the sector with other groups (Spess marines, etc), I'm game if others are.

Here is some fluff

+++Holo-tape recording from unknown Dendrobraxian guardsman+++
++Found in the bunker "Gamma-Alpha /6\" on Jurvus Prime in the aftermatch of the Tyranid invasion++

*Sounds of las fire in the background* Incomming! Spore mines to the left, Kronhendris, take position up by those containers, Emanuel take count our ammo, and check if the pilots are still alive. Emperor dammit, I though they couldn't shoot down our Valkyrie.

"Sir, they have us surrounded, we won't last long!"

*A roar along with heavy lasgun fire in the background* "Where is your fate guardsman! If they have us surrounded then that means there are more targets for us to shoot! And the more of these Emperor hatin' xenos we kill the more we make both the Emperor and Saint Dendrobraxia, so pick up that rifle and hold the line!

"Gargoyles incomming! Aim for the sky-"

+++END OF HOLO-VID RECORDING+++

Fuck, just saw that I misspell on some stuff.

Where did everyone go?

Bump

We have to give them some angel-related name

No. Do Eldar or Tau, we haven't rolled using those tables in years.

Bump!

Why did everyone leave? I really like the idea behind this regiment

Probably a timezone thing with everyone going to sleep.

Stupid timezones

Yeah, the planet's name.

Also, how strong is the tyranid presence in the sector?

I like this one more since I like that the regiments call themselvs after a saint instead of ther homeworld

Shame this died off like that, I really liked this concept.

It's not dead. I just guess OP are off snoozing in his own timezone

Bump.

Dendronian Iron Angels?

Also forgot my image.

Bump.

Don't words starting with dendro- have to do with trees?
Maybe the shrine world is based around some sort of holy tree, one planted by a saint or blessed by a saint or the site of a saint's martyrdom or something?

>Hey Veeky Forums, I'm bored so let's do something completely nonproductive
Go read Ride the Tiger you fuck.

You say to the day-and-three-hour-old OP post.

how does i roll dice on Veeky Forums?

You're not the OP fool! I am!

But anyways, you put dice+numberdnumber in the options field.

Anyways, I completely forgot about this thread.

Sorry, sir! I forgot I wasn't in my old thread!

since the thread is dead, I'm gonna test it

Rolled 1, 4, 1, 2 = 8 (4d4)

fuck, trying again

want to just roll up a new regiment?

Sounds good to me.

alright, just give me a sec while I bring up the guard creation table

alright, so roll me a 1d10 to figure out what we originated as

Rolled 9 (1d10)

Ooookay, we're militia. That's... Wow, we're probably worse than the PDF.

ah well, 1d100 for recruitment criteria.

Rolled 94 (1d100)

So, we're all convicts. Nice to know. Not sure why we wouldn't be a penal legion, but sure, why not.

1d10 for the nature of our recruits

Rolled 7 (1d10)

Maybe they arm the prisoners to defend the planet? Sort of like a cheap army?

hm... standard conscription. Huh, maybe these prisoners are offered reduced sentences or given pardons if they complete their tours of duty?

Now for the homeworld 1d100

Rolled 48 (1d100)

I'm thinking they take them, hand them an autogun and/or autopistol, and a knife, then tell them to go kill the attacking Xenos, Heretics, Mutants, etc.

Remember, they're Militia, not even PDF.

what do you know, we come from a Death World.

we must be one of the meanest sons of bitches out there.

What's the terrain like? 1d100

Rolled 61 (1d100)

Prison Planet? Take the survivors and hand them guns?

Or give them guns, then come back for them?

We're on an ocean planet. Hm. that probably makes for a very good prison. Not many places to hide out on except already colonized islands.

Deadly aquatic life, probably. These guys might be pretty good at amphibious operations.

Probably give the most tenacious prisoners supplies and drop them off at the battlefield. Pick up whoever's left, rinse and repeat.

What's the core unit for this regiment? 1d10

sorry, meant 1d100

Rolled 89 (1d100)

Rather odd. We seem to be set up for Siege warfare. Maybe we're just good at taking out coastal installations?

1d10 for our specialization

Rolled 9 (1d10)

hey OP where do you get those tables from? seems interesting. mind putting them up or are they in some kind of book?

siege warfare could be saboteurs? so send prisoners with bombs in and look who makes it back?

1d4Chan, mate. Though, he's not the OP.

1d4chan.org/wiki/Imperial_Guard_Regiment_Creation_Tables

Here ya go!

We Guerillas nao! Kind of fits...

1d4chan.org/wiki/Imperial_Guard_Regiment_Creation_Tables

Also, I'm not the OP, I'm just hijacking this thread for shits and giggles.

Usually, my impression of siege warfare has you breaching a place pretty conspicuously. Or, you know, you're just good at taking down fortifications and battlements by some means. Explosives, probably. So yeah, maybe suicide bombers.

And now for Loyalty: 1d10

ty, not on my home computer so didnt think about checking 1d4.

siege guerillas sounds nice, maybe good in hivesieges, creeping up vents and shit in the underhive to disrupt enemys and find weakpoints in the structure then preparing it for breaching

>siege guerillas sounds nice, maybe good in hivesieges, creeping up vents and shit in the underhive to disrupt enemys and find weakpoints in the structure then preparing it for breaching
yeah, except they come from an ocean world. So probably taking an objective from a more coastal environment would be more effective.
