Do these serve a practical purpose?

Handles.

>mating purposes

...

>cooling
>handlebars (if sturdy enough)
>head is separable from the body and can escape in emergency

It shows they are an unnatural abomination.
Alternatively if their head gets cut off they can use them to fly away.

>>handlebars (if sturdy enough)

>not using chub rolls like a normal person

It shows that they're halfway to becoming a Vargouille, which is way more scary than some dumb anime girl. Also more metal. Pic related.

>Cooling
>Monstergirl fanning herself with her headwings because she's flustered

stop it user

Helps in flight maybe. Probably works in a similar manner to the tail feathers of birds in that it helps her to angle and turn.

Koakuma a SLUT for patchi

They could be used for display purposes, like peacock tail feathers, or half of the weird doodads some animals have.

canards

>head is separable from the body and can escape in emergency

Full-head ejection system.

thats quite a funny thing to see happen, will probably encounter my players a new little bad guy soon. just to see the look on their faces^^.

for extra freak factor make the headless body go berserk

That or make it go full on "The Thing" and have it break apart into a bunch of pieces that attack while the head makes its escape.

It's a "costume" bit used in anime art.

Has nothing to do with traditional games.

Vargouilles are monsters that turn other people into Vargouilles by making their head grow wings and fly off.

>do they serve a purpose
They display that your GM has crossed the acceptable weeb line and is irredeemable. Keeps you from wasting your time and lets you get to finding a new game immediately.

...

>implying you wouldn't walk away from a con game if they said in-character shit like nee-chan and nyan

You're fighting one of those weird foreign vampires and the head will fly off when the body is too damaged.

So long as it stays in-character and they're not creepers that do it all the time, it's alright.

Pry the stick out of your ass man. Embrace the weeb once in a while. Who knows? You might have a good time.

They serve as a focus for her psychic powers, obviously. They are also an erogenous zone.

Much like human head hair and pinky toes.

No.

But what is the point you are trying to make?

I mean, it'd make me think twice, but it's not an automatic 'no'. Besides, this is about wings on someone's head, not 'nee-chan' and 'nyan'.

Don't be such a bully, you nerd.

Fucking kek.
LC stronk.

It means she's a mandurugo or penanggalan or leyak.

There is an acceptable amount of weeb, but the example given are taking it too far. A lot of weebs act like furries, forcing their weird interests on other people and making everyone else uncomfortable. The stick in my ass is fine where it is you people just need to work on your boundaries.

Nope. The hair on the other hand...

Finer communication between members of the same species (advanced body language)

More realistically, desert animals have large ears for the same purpose, they just circulate a lot of blood through them to cool in the breeze.

So when and if she's beheaded, the head can fly away to safety.

They're about as practical as licking your clean hands like that.

weren't the seraph say to use the first of their six wings to cover their face? Sooo they might have a pair on their head. And so monsters related to/desended from or imitating/mocking them might.

Balance while walking.

Yeah, they're cute.

/thread

They aren't wings, they are specialized organs for picking up radio waves.

>I am such a fucking tumblr triggered faggot that headwings trigger me
calm the fuck down and find a hobby that is less stressful, like knitting, or gardening.

I'm sorry I upset you. Please continue running with your arms behind your back, I promise not to judge you.

>Do these serve a practical purpose?

See these anons:
They're used to regulate the tempature of the demon's/devil's body (a useful ability given the hot, hellish environment they're native to).

And as said by many other anons; if their body or safety becomes compromised a demon with "head wings" can also detach their head and fly off to safety.

>"monster"
>posts abhuman
why is this allowed

Cooling and use in attracting mates

Makes them masters of ambushes

>"Gee Sarge, that's a nice cool breeze."

"What's with all the bats, though? Kind of freaky, don't you think?"

...

>head hair
>natural provider of shade to the part of your body most likely to get sunburnt
>useless

You trying to insult the Night Lords motherfucker?

Dude.

excellent

Squeek Squeek.

In Xenoblade there is actually a race of humanoids with large wings sticking out their heads, which look almost decorative until one of those people straight up fly away. It was kinda weird to witness.

It does sound weird to witness. Do you have any images or videos? I don't know where to start looking for it myself.

I tried looking for it on youtube but to no avail. Look for something like High Entia Xenoblade if you wanna see what do these guys look... actually the one you'll see the most is half human and as such has small wings that can't lift her up.

Yeah I found some pictures at least, and holy shit those are some big wings. Certainly the biggest head-wings I've ever seen.

I think they fly by using some Aether related shenanigans though and not muscular strenght, but the thing is never adressed since it only happens once at the end of one subquest that is also easily missed and unlocked toward the end of the game.

I was about to call shit on you then I agreed

i imagine they can come in pretty handy on a hot day

They serve more purpose than their slightly-more-retarded cousin, the footwing.

Seriously, what's up with the Hermes-style footwings. I get that they're supposed to be a mmetaphor for speed or something, but they still look dumb as fuck.

Pheromones receptors/ejectors

Picking up radio signals from the future

They're fake. But demonkind considers them beautiful. Beauty is a practical purpose.

Thought: Normally if someone goes into great detail over their character's appearance it's a red flag, but if they're dressing up for a special occasion they should get roleplaying xp for great descriptions of their character's new appearance. Especially if they don't normally do that.

Heat dissipation. They are heatsinks.

>my personal dislike of your hobby and behavior is your problem

Cool down on those faggot levels, Ivan, you're burning all of our sensors out

I'm surprised no one has suggested swatting flies away.

That'd need a cow-like tail.

Claymore seems oddly underrepresented on Veeky Forums
