Way to take the fun out of it. Half dragons are better as the result of magical experimental sex*.

* actual dragons may or may not be involved.

>magical experimental sex*.
Pretty much a given, really.

...

They're still an excuse for broken Mary Sue player characters that want free powers with no actual work or downsides involved...

Do magical experimentation mutations breed true? Or is every half-dragon the direct, first-generation result of magical experimentation?

What kind of experiments, anyway? What are these wizards trying to discover?

How well they can get their scaly partners off. Duh.

>less fetishbait
>bad

>No downsides

Then you aren't making them legit mutants that society tries to kill on sight given their appearance and the common fear of dragons most people have.

They should also not have any magical ability beyond a weak as shit breath weapon usable once per day and maybe low-light vision, flight, or water breathing depending on their lineage plus half damage from a source depending on their lineage as well.

All in all though, no clothing or armor should fit them, they should look like sloth from the goonies covered in scales, they should be infertile, and their life expectancy should be 20 years at max.

They are genetic abominations and should be treated as such.

It's a joke about the sex being the fun part in a literal way user.

You realize nobody actually plays them this way ever, right? Some people like to have FUN in their games.

WRONGBADFUN

Some people like to have magical mary-sues at the start too.

They are faggots and should be ignored and despised.

They are the same type of people who make succubi as physically attractive instead of hideous rape monsters that literally fuck people to death. They might use a guise to get a human to start fucking them, but then they turn into a hideous monster that pins the male and uses their dark talent to keep them erect and fucks them until their heart gives out while causing non-lethal but constant damage and pain to their victim the whole time.

Morphogenic field transplantation; an experimental procedure where the morphogenic field of one creature is removed, mimicked, or approximated and spliced on top of an existing creature.

Since the morphogenic field guides biological development, this has interesting effects and is an extremely useful tool for studying the interplay between mechanistic physical biology and the magical elan vital or homme-force associated with it.

This is actually usually done with smaller, faster-living, and otherwise well-studied test animals such as the Norlandic rat or amorphic jelly as the recipient, but a dragon's morphogenic field is obviously much bigger than those and so there is usually quite a bit left over.

If improperly warded during the transfer process, or if the test equipment is inappropriately purified and disposed of, the spillover can leak into nearby villages, where it is strongly absorbed by vulnerable, morphogenically plastic developing embryos.

Due to the Lamarckian principle, these often are passed on to later generations, but in the most common case (of an artificial, patchwork donor field constructed by alchemical projection and symbolic evocation of a sympathetic framework of dragon body parts, usually obtained by adventurers-for-hire, likely augmented by a living draco vulgaris) the transplantation is incomplete and will be subsumed by the human's natural principle within a generation or two.

However, in the very rare case that the field is stripped from an actual, living dragon, especially if the developing embryo is exposed to draconic biowaste in vivo due to inappropriate disposal, or if the transfer is specifically grafted to a human donor, it can achieve full integration with the human's natural field and be passed along like all other traits.

>pins the male and uses their dark talent to keep them erect and fucks them until their heart gives out while causing non-lethal but constant damage and pain to their victim the whole time.
That's a bit detailed, not everything has to be about your fetish user.

Okay, let's say you guys are right.

There is a magical being that is a union between a humanoid and dragon, it is stronger, smarter, and just plain better than everyone else in pretty much every way possible and has a regal reptilian appearance and access to pretty potent magical abilities right off the bat.

Why is it hanging around mundane, shit-tier, first level adventurers that are inferior to it and will just be a liability to it in the first place, cause it to split rewards that it earns, and just be an overall negative for it in the long run and up front?

If it is good aligned, it wouldn't want the weaker beings taking place in a fight in the same way a paladin wouldn't want farmers with pitchforks accompanying him on a quest to destroy a monster.

If it is neutral, it wouldn't want to split its rewards from going on quests and /or it wouldn't want others to slow it down in accomplishing its own personal goals.

If it is evil, it wouldn't want to associate with lesser beings that are beneath them.

There is no good reason for a half-dragon to be a member of a party. They could be villains, I suppose, who view everything else as cannon fodder to slow down the heroes going after it without giving two solid shits about what happens to its followers, or even an NPC that the characters wander into who might be nice to them but still think they are too weak to risk their safety on their own personal quest.

All in all, half-dragons shouldn't be a member of your party.

That's a standard succubus action, user.

Although they do it in your dreams and are the old excuse for wet dreams.

(Note that stripping the morphogenic field from a sapient creature is strictly forbidden due to the effects on the donor; it falls under the Accords of the Unbroken Circle along with soul burning, godform construction, and full blood sacrifice. These are frequently ignored, however, if covertly, and do not extend protection to goblinoids or the homeless)

Always pegged it as succubus use the pretty visage as a honey trap, and when someone is dumb enough to think with their dick, then they go full rape monster personally.

Are you allergic to dragons, but still admire the majestic beasts they are?
Or did you always want a dragon, but never could afford one?

That's right, call 555-DRAGONS right now, and you can get your very own half-dragon for only 4999$!

Okay, let's say you're right. Let's say that there is a being called a Rogue, that is faster, sneakier, and just plain smarter than anyone else in the party...

I could continue, but I think the point is made. Everyone has weaknesses, everyone has needs. By your logic, parties would only be made up of humans, because Elves are immortal graceful beings who are better at everything, and why on middle earth would one join the fellowship to destroy the ring, instead of just doing it himself?

Does striping the morphogenic cause the organism to loose it's form? Because that would make a decent origion for ooze/slime type monsters.

It should keep it from being able to develop further... so maybe it explains pseudodragons, drakes, and linnorms instead?

>Why is it hanging around mundane, shit-tier, first level adventurers
No one said anything about first level adventurers user. If you are going by D&D the half dragon template is a +3 level adjustment, so the party should be starting at level 4 or above. You are just making up a situation with a power disparity due to your personal distaste for half dragons.

No, the rouge has no problem recognizing that the other members of the party have their uses. They are there to keep shit off his back while he picks locks and steals shit. They take blows meant for him in case things out of his control because of bad intel.

A normal creature (human, dwarf, halfling, etc) will recognize the benefit of other races helping them out.

A half-dragon, is flat out better than other races in every way. There is no benefit to having the team around as they might get hurt (good), might slow him down (neutral), or are inferior beings not worth his time (evil).

That is a far cry different than 'I am sneakier than they are so they can get fucked.'

That said, a rouge will be quick to split the party on a quest to accomplish something personal for sure.

That's great. Could you respond to this part now?

>By your logic, parties would only be made up of humans, because Elves are immortal graceful beings who are better at everything, and why on middle earth would one join the fellowship to destroy the ring, instead of just doing it himself?

Priscilla a shit
Fair Lady a best

No; it's significantly worse. Initially, no physical effects are visible, although the victim rapidly acquires a psychological condition akin to full-body integrity identity disorder; just as the removal of a limb leads to phantom limb disorders if the morphogenic field remains intact, the compromise of the field while the body remains intact causes the entire body to feel alien and revoltingly wrong. Self-harm often results, which leads to the second phase.

Without a morphogenic field, the body still retains its shape due to the mechanical structural integrity of living tissue. However, cellular development and bodily growth and change is now entirely unguided; the body will grow more or less randomly, and this is greatly accelerated by having to heal injuries. Residual fragments of the original morphogenic field may lead to random development of partial organs or misplaced tissues; worse still, a living body without a morphogenic field is as much an unnatural vacuum as a brain without a soul (in fact, both are similar phenomena) and a new field will attempt to assert itself, patterning off any random wisps of residual fields from nearby organisms or leftover from the operation. Cancerous cells, no longer recognized as incorrectly following the plan, will begin to grow uncontrolled according, or not, to this partial field (which is typically too weak and disordered to support living tissue, holding only the general shape of the organism.)

Shortly into this process, the lucky ones die.

Eventually, after the slow and painful development into a jumbled abomination of semi-functional random tissues and limbs, the new field will have asserted itself strongly enough to direct the immune system to reject "foreign" tissue growth, and the organism will essentially dissolve as its own body attacks anything not conforming to its incoherent morphogenic blueprint. Death is slow and painful.

However, modern medical magic can prevent this, if promptly discovered.

Sadly, however, as anyone performing morphogenic stripping is almost certainly doing it covertly and with no regard for the donor's fate, very few victims are discovered in time to save them. Full recovery of the initial field is only possible within a handful of minutes; an hour at most; if found after this, the victim will likely never return to full health and will need treatment and medical assistance for the rest of their likely shortened life.

Within days, except under exceptional circumstances, the victim's body has become disordered enough and the malformed field has become strong enough that a priest and a merciful release are all that can be offered.

For a similar case to late-stage morphogenic failure, look up "Hisai Ouchi". Or better yet, don't.

I love Morphogenic Fields as a Science Fiction concept.

Seath fucked Gwynivere, get over it you little bitch.

Kirk doesn't deserve her affections

Have you ever met a person who believes they are better than everybody else and doesn't want anyone else around? Pretty sure the cliche with such pride and vanity is to want others to be around to affirm it.

>Have you ever met a person who believes they are better than everybody else and doesn't want anyone else around?
Chris-chan

>Half dragons are made from magical experiments rather than actual sex.
pic not related?

>muh d&d
It can be played perfectly in system where class and level are not important

I'd say either

Something can be the child of a Dragon and someone else

Or a Magical Experiment using Dragon's Blood or Body Part's

I would see the experiments as having different levels like the most powerful would have a baby in the womb given Dragon's Blood magically but you would have to wait for it to grow up.

follows by an adult with Dragon parts: Eyes, Scales, Wings, and whatever, Weaker and more costly but you have it now

And then Dragon Blood Elixir given to an Adult as the Weakest Cheapest and Fastest

An actual half breed would be any where from Dragon's Blood Child to an Sdult with Dragon Parts in strength

>By your logic, parties would only be made up of humans, because Elves are immortal graceful beings who are better at everything, and why on middle earth would one join the fellowship to destroy the ring, instead of just doing it himself?
Because the One Ring's power tempts even the strongest hearts, and the mighty and proud are ever more vulnerable to the terrible majesty it promises them. The humble hobbits are best suited to deliver it, for their small, simple natures help to keep them safe from its deadly attraction.

What if you fug a dragon shape shifted as human?

So are they for figurative sex?

Maybe if it buys me dinner first

My PCs would have found this out if they didn't decide to torch that wizard's lab before reading his notes.

Would it have been useful information?
Have they been futilely fucking dragons trying to produce halfbreeds?

But half dragon half-golems are made from sex rather than actual magical experiments.

It might be when he comes to get them, as they only torched his lab and garden, not his house.

Yes, especially if I can get it pregnant.

I want to touch her fluffy tail.

The problem here is that you keep jumping between extremes. There is such thing as middle ground, especially when you think the only possibilities are "genetic abomination with crippling mutations" and "perfect character who is better than everyone else".

No
Give me the dragoness instead

I read a fapfic about such a scenario here.

I have a japanese comic just on this topic.

...

...

...

>she's only a dragon for like 2 panels out of 30 pages
I was so disappointed

Depends on setting.
In D&D, which hosts the most popular "dragons breed with everything" settings, dragons are actually a semi-divine race and therefore half-dragons are like demi-demi-demi-demigods. Of course they receive nothing but benefits.
(All dragonkind is descended from Io the Ninefold Dragon, the great progenitor god. They were not shaped like the mortal races.)

...

...

Well user, it's the thought that counts.
And it wouldn't be fucking a dragon in human form if she was in dragon form during the act.

I think I will stop here for the sake of decency. There might be children browsing Veeky Forums.

coincidentally, the rest is on
archived.moe/h/thread/4306348/ about halfway into the thread

>taking aways what makes succubus unique from them

sirens and a lot of other shit already fulfill the "looks pretty but is actually hideous" thing, plus that would make them the same as other demons, why not let one of them be something other than just fangs and suffering for once?

>Full dragons are made from magical experiments rather than actual sex.

Had that happen to a character once. Bad times.

We get it, you had a bad breakup.

I've read several and written one or two, I still want more

How is it bestiality when she is a dragon?

It's bestiality because a dragon is having sex with a lesser creature

Mind you most dragons don't have anything resembling a bestiality taboo, but it's still shameful she did so while in a pathetic human form

She clearly doesn't want to fuck in dragon form. Also, and more importantly the guy drawing it didn't want to make it either look like bestiality, or like two dragons fucking.

Pathfinder specifies that half-blue dragons are the most common for that reason explicitly.

>muh sickly bug waifu
Fuck off, Priscilla is more interesting, more powerful and has cuter feet

Thanks for the file name user!

>cuter feet
>Not fluffy tail

best half dragon

It IS possible to play a normal half-dragon/dragonborn character. A lot of the other races get better stuff in the long run anyhow. Breath weapons lose usefulness by 7th level. Stat changes and superior darkvision is forever.

does not matter OP.
What matters though is: Can WE have sex with them??

>not wanting to be a reptilian Aragorn/Strider, an elite warrior of divine/noble blood hiding his true nature and working alongside a group of like-minded beings that share your morals/ambitions/duty.

Yeah, magical experiments on female dragons.

I have conflicted feelings about that picture
more?

There's only NSFW ones left
twitter.com/firefloof because I'm not linking FA on Veeky Forums

Does Seath even have a penis? He was one of the Everlasting Dragons (except he ain't got no scales, bitch ain't even got legs) and they weren't exactly built with "procreation" in mind.

Where is that Dragon Rape comic when we need it?

It's a meme. People are too stupid to process that maybe not every single thing in the game has to be spelled out or plainly obvious. They see a giant lady and a white dragon, so have to believe that's where the large white half-dragon comes from, when there's nothing even remotely indicating this might be the case.

>implying the half-dragon has to naturally be better than everyone
>implying the half dragon can't form attachments with the party, not even condescending compassion
>implying it can't have any personality beyond being a half dragon

>There is a magical being that is a union between a humanoid and dragon, it is stronger, smarter, and just plain better than everyone else in pretty much every way possible and has a regal reptilian appearance and access to pretty potent magical abilities right off the bat.

Not really.

d20srd.org/srd/monsters/halfDragon.htm

>Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +8, Con +2, Int +2, Cha +2.

So it's notably stronger, a little tougher, a little smarter, and a little more self-assured than a human with the same training, but not more agile nor more perceptive. A 1st-level half-dragon isn't any better at picking locks or pockets, feats of acrobatics, diving out of the way of falling rocks or avoiding traps, than a 1st-level human with the same training and ability scores would be at the same tasks, and is somewhat worse than an elf or halfling at it.

This is before you get into specialization. A half-dragon fighter is gonna be a Hell of a fighter, but won't be able to cast spells, pick locks, or magically heal the wounded.

Knight Captain Yorshka is actively claiming to be the younger sister of Gwyndolin and Gwynevere. And she's a half dragon, So unless she's adopted. There is at least SOME dragon Shinanigans going on in Old Boy Gwyn's gene pool.

>There is at least SOME dragon Shinanigans going on in Old Boy Gwyn's gene pool.

Hell, Gwyn's own firstborn son allied himself with the Everlasting Dragons for shits and giggles. I think the only thing going well for Gwyn's family was Gwynevere was a legitimately good person with a loving husband, and Gwyn himself was the one that enforced the whole "boy looks like a lady" thing on Gwyndolin.

That said, shouldn't Priscilla be some sort of Witch/Dragon hybrid? Witches had the Life Soul, Priscilla had the Lifehunt Scythe.

Older tabletops didn't have half dragons.
A Dragon would have to shapeshift into a humanoid to mate with a humanoid and the offspring would be of the race he shifted into with a guaranteed chance of being a sorcerer.
