His only mistake is assuming that humanity draws faith solely from religion and dogma.

pretty sure he spoke of faith as something about religion and only religion

>inb4 fedora tipping

If it was true then Chaos would of won.

Yes, because you're never going to convince everyone to follow the same religion.

The vast majority of holy wars are between sects of the same faith for Chrissakes.

Religion, like language or anything else really is a powerful tool if used properly.

To be a Primarch is to achieve Dominance of not only your own domain, but a thousand others all diverse in cultures and interest. With that in mind most Primarchs would probably use Religion as a tool in the way Kor Phaeron suggests.

But you can have faith in pretty much anything.

Well?

I think you missed the point.
Kor isn't praising his personal religion, but belief into something itself.
The sheer power of such zealous attitude towards a faith is what moves mountains, what makes a warrior an unstoppable holy crusader, it's what makes communities and societies, it's what makes morals and laws.
His point is, without faith\religion, ANY given religion, including basically any belief system (atheism, philosophies, laws, etc) there is nothing but beasts.
He is praising the great gift of belief that sentient species seem to have, as if they have faith\a strong belief about something, nothing will change their mindset, not even objective truth.
Even the most humble cavemen believed in something.
This of course comes from one of the leaders of the most zealous, religious and probably fanatic organization in the Wh40k univese, almost seconding the Imperium of man and the SoB, so this applies extremely well for the Word Bearers.

>yfw the Imperial religion is secretly feeding Tzeentch

Not at all; the trick is finding something universal enough that everyone can find faith in it, but powerful enough that they will be moved to great works by it.

A house built on a false foundation is a fair-weather illusion. When the earth shakes it shall come tumbling down. Truth is power. By spreading ignorance you keep your people weak. The weak are easy to control but are also easy to overcome.

The word religion literally derives from the same root as the term ligament, or ligature, meaning "to bind together."
So I'd say this is not a new line of reasoning. I'm inclined to agree.

Are you implying that my ego-centric pursuit of idle pleasure will not drive humanity to greater heights?

Absolutely.
Emps was correct but miscalculated the part were he was huge dick to everybody and overestimated common non-terra man.

>the point

The point of OP's screed is that swallowing a load of unsupported assertion AND THEN ACTING ON IT is democrat-grade stupid - as we learned in The Last Church. Every single sentence in this "Koran" guy's sermon is [citation needed], cos the IoM needs more than just "lolwordofgodyo" to put shekels in his collection plate.

>truth is power
>laughing_Nietzsche.jpg

What then is truth? A movable host of metaphors, metonymies, and anthropomorphisms: in short, a sum of human relations which have been poetically and rhetorically intensified, transferred, and embellished, and which, after long usage, seem to a people to be fixed, canonical, and binding. Truths are illusions which we have forgotten are illusions; they are metaphors that have become worn out and have been drained of sensuous force, coins which have lost their embossing and are now considered as metal and no longer as coins.

Congratulations kid, you've out edged yourself.

This is technically correct. Faith is belief without evidence, and isn't confined to religious matters.

All of you only believe in evolution because of faith. None of you have actually witnessed, studied, or done the studies proving evolution first-hand.

No. He's actually totally right.

Too bad he chose the Murder, Rape, Decay, Backstab Religion.

He had the right idea, but he ran it in the wrong way.

Wasn't he praising the Emperor for a time, until the Big E rejected this cult surrounding him? Then feeling rejected, he found a cool uncle who accepted him and started praising him instead?

Nah, Lorgar was the one who decided to run to Chaos after Daddy beat him like a red-headed stepchild. Kor Phaeron was a priest of the Old Faith of Colchis, which (surprise surprise) worshipped Chaos. He simply hid his true faith really well.

You forgot the :^) at the end of your comment

>he hasn't even perceived the pure forms underlying reality

sorry bro, it's all objective

speak for yourself loser

>implying we can ever meaningfully perceive the pure forms of underlying reality without endlessly classifying and objectifying it, and so replace that essence of reality with a screened appearance of it
>implying that it is possible to appreciate the essence of a being through the already classified and objectified words used to discuss these things

Claiming reality to be "objective" is just simplifying it so it can be packaged and reproduced to everyone who inquires into it. Those pure forms we're talking about cannot be appreciated if already condensed into object forms.
