Old and new players alike are welcome! You, my friends, guide the leaders of the United Systems Republic, the newly established human nation that has united the countries of Terra Nova. Ready to face the future together, we march ever onwards and upwards! Previously: The four nations of Terra Nova united their governments after completing the Constitution, which was primarily based off the White Republic's legislature. Now we rule over Terra Nova and the 12 solar systems we've colonised so far. The year is 1262 After the Exile. Questions welcome.
Most of the special forces are those who belonged to the White Republic, a small amount of elite troops from the other nations were transfered to each of those divisions. As per our constitution, service in the Army and Militia is entirely voluntary. Any adult who wishes to gain the right to vote must undergo two years in national service in the Militia, after which they may either continue a professional military career. Those who choose other paths remain on the draft lists and can be drawn upon as reserves. From the non-white countries we got a large part of the infantry and armor forces we now have. Combat mechs have been in development in the past 40 years and are available in three classes - light, autonomous combat robots; medium class - either autonomous or piloted - are roughly equal to tanks in size and firepower; heavy mechs are crewed and posess the most firepower of any combat unit on the ground.
Pick two areas to focus on improving A.Light armament(personal weapons and equipment) and infantry B.Special forces(rangers and the four elemental orders, we could create a new special force too) C.Our airforces D.Heavy armament(tanks and artillery) E.Mechs F.Military command - officers, strategies, logistics

Logistics and the general organisation of our new military has been the focus - chain of command, hierarchy, military training, communications - all the little things that make war possible. Along with that we've brought our infantry up to speed both in training and equipment. Modern warfare can mean rapid deployment and days-long fighting in various environments. Standart equipment for the USR infantryman includes titanium-reinforced body armor, a helmet, equipped with comm tools and a HUD display, a magnetic automatic rifle and a variety of sidearms and provisions. Specialised equipment can be anything from shotguns to mini-nuclear rocket launchers(STILL IN DEVELOPMENT, DO NOT USE WITHOUT AUTHORISATION!!!) Now onto colonization, as was actually demanded: Choose one focus A.Continue improving, settling and terraforming our colonies(10 inhabited planets outside of Terra Nova), let's not stretch out too thin B.Explore and exploit star systems within our territory for minerals, energy and potential colonies C.Go beyond our frontiers and settle more distant stars!

Greeting from a American!!! To all you American and Non-American have a Happy Four of July!!! It's been 240 years since we kick Great Britain teeth in and declared independence!!! Land of the free and home of the brave!!!

A dynamic entry from the champion of the dice gods, Inky. Happy 4th of July. Also welcome again to Oldfag, hope to see the rest of the namefags today, would be great.
Three new systems have been colonized - the Hatoi system has one barren, worthless planet and two gas giants with a total of 9 sizable moons, one of which lies on a stable relative orbit towards the star Hatoi and has a verdant surface, full of animal- and plantlife (no intelligent local life was found). The Sugbar system has one planet that could be terraformed in the future, but most of the interest in it comes from mining companies who wish to exploit its two gas giants and their moons and local asteroids. The biggest prize of this Space Rush has been the Gared system, however - there we've found a Garden world within the Goldilocks zone, with a nytrogen-oxygen atmosphere and plentiful local life and overall great conditions for colonisation with minimal amounts of terraformation required to make it perfect! Increased interest has emerged towards settling in the colonies and people continue doing so as the years go by and it is now 1266

All right, I know it's samefagging so, let's do some diplomacy A.Improve relations with the Ra'ktun Imperium(we fought a war against them recently with the help of the Omicron and P'gar and signed a peace treaty) B.Improve relations with the P'gar(their religious leaders decided that their fleets should come to our aid, but they are a largely isolationist civilization) C.Improve relations with the Omicron Federation(we have some trade agreements with them and have known them for a while) D.Other
Aside from just picking an option, propose some detailed ideals - should it be trade, alliances, information etc.
James Reyes
C.Improve relations with the Omicron Federation(we have some trade agreements with them and have known them for a while)
Multi-nation training exercises would be a good idea.
We should also consider the possibility of a technological exchange, assuming they are willing.
Michael Peterson
>C.Improve relations with the Omicron Federation(we have some trade agreements with them and have known them for a while) I have some ideas, we could set up a defense pact. Also use this chance to catch up, we tell them how were going like becoming a federal like them. This is improve relations as system types of government like each other more. Also we should trade some culture, like food, clothes, etc Their going to be some aliens that will eat this stuff like candy. We share that movies with them, I'm not sure what they have, but who doesn't want to watch films from the humans. All this will increase relations and with it we could start trading tech, signing a defense pact, and maybe set up alliance in the future.

The Presidents of the two Federations met once in Terra Nova and once in Maoo'da, signing a defensive alliance and a number of new trade agreements. "Both sides have much to gain from good-willed and fair exchange" Commented the Omicron President(that's what his title translates to, anyway) Valiaga-run vag'Maoge before press from both nations. As it turns out, we're quite similar in many ways. The Omi's homeworld is made up of 80% water and the Omi race has evolved to flourish in humid land environments and survive in water for extended periods of time, but they are also mammals like us and have a mostly similar biology. They've taken a liking to many of our material products and works of art, as have people from our nation - Omi music is getting very popular, especially among the traditionally conservative Kaichou, for some odd reason. The Omicron have shared some of their civilian technologies with us and agreed to join military excercises and cooperation.

D&C Technological developments have shaped the global economy into a new phase - Terra Nova produces almost 100% of manufactured goods and a sizable agricultural surplus and is the financial, cultural and technological capital, but the colonies are now vital to the new economic system, as the demand for raw materials has increased - lucky for us, space has all you can dream of! Our economy is booming. Ships become faster, more economic and more versatile every year - an average person can now afford to visit another star system every now and then and interstellar trade can truly pick up now. Expansion of production facilities also allows us to build more light ships and schematics are being drawn for the construction of a tier-4 spacevessel - a battleship-class, equal to the strongest ships in the Omicron navy.

We'll work on our spacefleet now - last time we founded the Starfleet Academy in Millport. Our current shipcount amounts to 30 corvettes, 20 destroyers, 5 cruisers (thinking of keeping them as a tab, corvettes worth 1 point, destroyers worth 2, cruisers worth 4 and so on)
What should we focus our efforts on? PICK ONE: A.Construct a new flagship for our fleet, a battleship-class! B We've built 4 new corvettes, 3 destroyers and 2 cruisers. Focus is put on the quality of our crews as we employ virtual reality simulators and all the resources of our academies. New equipment becomes standart every now and then - more powerful weapons, engines, computer systems, communications, barriers. Along with that we haven't neglected our merchant fleets, some academies are dedicated to them - the space convoys.

The Omicron and P'gar have each settled a new system recently and so have we - the Pouhour system is the only reasonably useful one in that area and could serve as an outpost for future exploration - it's only planet is a single gas giant, orbited by 3 moons, while the system itself has a large asteroid belt. Economic development has been good - the resources of space are fueling Terra Nova's industries and most of our colonies are self-sufficient in terms of living necessities by now.

2 new systems have been colonized - the Jayug system is home to an arctic, barely livable world, 1 pressure-cooker world,2 gas giants and a whole bunch of moons and asteroids - a good source of minerals and energy, if not habitability. A great find rimwards, however - the Ervana system has not one, but two highly habitable planets - a garden world and an ocean world! There's also some sources of minerals and energy. Ervana is the most distant star we've colonized, but it is definately the most promising. In other news - terraformation has made previously uninhabitable planets inhabitable and harsh environments more livable, as we now have a total of 19 colonized planets. Population growth is rising with abundant living space.
