Orc tribes

Hey tg I'm getting ready to run an orc campaign where pc's have to work together and unite the clans, but I want to come up with some fun/interesting orc clans for them to meet. So far I've got 4 or 5 done with quests that would unite them.

So can we have a thread to come up with some unique orc clans?

I won't post the quests but I'll toss up the clan ideas I came up with so far.

The bone crushers

Chieftain: Bone dust

The bone crushers pride themselves on strength. They will hunt powerful enemies that they consider worthy opponents. Once the prey is dead the orc takes the bones and grinds them up and wears it into battle as it was warpaint. It is said that some of the strongest of the clan wears ground up dragon bone.

Stuck at work, so posting some pics to keep the thread alive

...

>So can we have a thread to come up with some unique orc clans?

>The Swine Gut clan.

-The only thing they're good at is swine herding, but BOY are they ever fucking good at it.

-They excel at farming in general: producing the majority of the food that falls into the hands of the other orcs via trade or the odd non-hostile raid/shake down, but again they're mostly know for their pork.

-Most other clans keep them alive and around because they're too lazy/prideful to farm themselves and in some bizarre way they actually like the idea of being able to gloat about "Orc grown food."

Cheiftain: Horgus, Big Gut.

-Not Actually an Orc but an Ogre who originally bullied and fought his way to the top of the clan so he could enslave them to feed him: has grown fat, massive and has about 32 half-orc sons within the community.

...

In the Grond Valley there are many Orc tribes. There are the fearsome BearFists, the savage BloodTalons, the proud ThunderTusks and the industrious CopperTrouts. And, tucked away in the foothills of the Dread Mountains, sandwiched between the ThunderTusks and the craggy realm of the Flamey FlapBeast, there are the laughable StickPoops.

If any tribe could be said to be an embarrassment to Orc-kind, it is the StickPoops. Possessed of such inbred stupidity that they don't even understand fire or stoneworking, the StickPoops are named for their one and only invention: the Poop-On-A-Stick, a simple wooden spear with a big solid turd impaled on it, the better to poison the warriors of any other tribe in the Valley.

Not that the StickPoops have much to fear from their neighbours: their corner of the valley is a rugged wasteland, with little of any worth. Food is scarce, the StickPoops surviving mostly by eating bugs, and those rodents too slow to flee. Water is freely available from a huge flooded sinkhole, but as the StickPoops use that same sinkhole as a lavatory, the water is fatal for anyone but a StickPoop to drink.

Without stone tools or fire, the StickPoops hunt with hand and tooth like feral beasts. They have an impoverished vocabulary, not helped by their dulled intelligence from generations of inbreeding and drinking rotten water. Occasionally a StickPoop will venture out of their lands, for they often forget that such things as borders exist, and steal food from the other tribes. The tribes mostly ignore these thefts, because wiping out the StickPoops would be a waste of time and effort that could be better spent fighting each other.

How about a tribe of orcs that are ruled by a caste of Goblins. The Goblin leader is a powerful user of magic which he uses to keep the orcs in line. Whenever an orc steps out of line he's blasted apart. This powerful magic has led the orcs to view the goblins as a god-like race, something that the Goblins have started to believe themselves.

>The Black Mire Clan.

-Mildly successful clan with a surprisingly large amount of magic-literate orcs: boasting the largest amount of casters of any neighboring clan.

-Their clan operates and calls home to an impassable, treacherous, constantly overcast muggy bog-land that has been slowly growing larger and larger each year.

-The clan gets everything they need from the bog: pitch, wood, fish, meat, fruit, stank-ass-herbs, etc..

Chieftain: The Dark Druid, Mire Tusk.
-Was once the clans elder, but climbed the rank of chieftain after he had a great vision: a massive, perpetual fertile and dark bog swallowing the land and his orcs thriving as the others drowned in it's waters and muck.

>The Rapefist Clan: They rape you with their fists.

>The Fistrape Clan: They rape your fists with their dicks.

>The Rapesword Clan: They rape you with their swords.

>The Dogrape Clan: They rape your dogs. Other pets and livestock may be raped as well depending on their mood.

>The Rapeknife Clan: They capture all genders and treat them to fine dining experiences based on the varied cuisines that they have experienced during their rovings. They take your critique of their cuisine serously and expect you to be honest and generous with feedback and criticism so they can improve upon their cooking methods.

>The Rapeaxe Clan: They rape you with their axes.

>>The Fistrape Clan: They rape your fists with their dicks.

They... Force you to give them hand jobs?

The Orcs of the Purple Claw
This tribe is lead by a shaman who carries a demonic purple claw (with an eye in its palm)
The shaman spends alot of time talking to the claw before issuing commands.

No. They rape your fists with their dicks.
It's pretty simple really.

Most of these seem fine. Except those rapeknifes, those are childish and disgusting. Next time just make more thought out clans like the rapeaxes.

What, no Rapespears?

What? No.
That doesn't even make sense.
"Rapespears". Lookit this guy trying to be funny.

>RockJaw Clan
Famous for mines and underground arenas.
>ThunderStorm Clan.
Famous for there mighty shamans and cunning combat tactics. Shit like what the 300 dudes did in 300 with the choke point and shit like flanking.
>MountainCrown Clan
famous for an ancient battle with a dwarven fort. They also tend to wear lots of gold and jewelry and use dwarven armor/weapons.
>BloodStain Clan
Famous for wearing the blood of there kill and crude humor.
>Howling Clan
Famous for there sync with nature and there vicious wolf companions.
>IronShield Clan
A smaller clan famous for there sword and shield combat and paladin like life style.
>HellMarch Clan
Famous for there brutal conquest in forein lands and furious women who they leave behind to raise the children into brutal warriors.

...

i like it.

>Skull Eater Clan
They are a brutal clan traveling the land planting there camps in areas along there travels selling any rare goods except for the skulls of the rare creatures they kill. There ultimate goal is to have the largest of skulls and a lot of them. They put the Largest skull of they have on top their tents and wear the skull of their favorite kill.

>Blork Clarn
cunning but brutal
>Flork Clan
Brutal but cunning.

>Clan Dork
A well respected clan named for Sir Destroyer of Mortals the first orc with a Sir name and title. the named was originally Destroyer Clan King of Morals but was shorten to Dork Clan. They are well known gentlemen. Famous for there art and music.

A confederation of clans forming the Blooded Tribes sworn to the Gaura a Demon God of immense power that empowers the Orcs in return for blood sacrifice. They are led by Ukar the Destroyer.

there should be a yearly contest for champion of the orc clans where all the orcs send there best warrior who will wear all the orc banners after difficult challenges and brutal combat.

>The Iron Maw Clan
Chieftain Muldar Vur

One of the more... "industrial" clans. After taking over a small dwarf town they found the mountain contained plenty of metals and precious materials that they started to mine. They became a smith clan that trades armor and weapons. Their trademark is an iron headpiece that covers the lower jaw with a maw of metal teeth.

...

The Warcraft orcs
The War hammer orcs
The Dungeon Meshi orcs
The Madru orcs.
And finally
The Tolkien Orcs

...

Y'all some shitty motherfuckers who can't write worth a damn for the benefit of BEST RACE, WARRIOR STRONK. Lucello the Half-Pimp's here to set things right.

We've got the Splinterlimb Tribe, who actually killed so many Wood Elves that they claimed a ruined High Elf city to hold their regional moots in, but the magical fallout is slowly fucking their brains to death and causing them to get bone growths and natural magic and Harlequin disease in current generations. They have earned the most glory, but can't understand why the gods punish their children.

We've got the Ogrehide tribe, who have fucking nuts guys with spiked gauntlets and daggers and shortswords who go into battle basically shirtless and depend on their constant physical training and ritual scarring to protect them as well as leather armor. They settle political disputes with wrestling and bareknuckle boxing. Ritual scarring with wood ash to color the scar tissue is incredibly common as both a symbol for one's clan easily discerned by other Ogrehide clans, similar to the personal charge and colors of a noble house or local lord, at least to the Orcs.

The Bladehymn tribe are mostly coastal raiders, who pride themselves on their skill as axe-throwers and falconers by tradition. They're also the only Orcs with any real tradition for oratory, and they have battle-chants and epic songs performed before battle to get everybody riled up.

Will Continue, it got too long.

Sundersteel are the most aggressive and archaic of orc tribes. Their history is marked by multiple notable faith-leaders being given visions of a possible future where the grandeur of mountains and the expanse of forests has been replaced with plains of grey and gleaming metal and glass obelisks that constantly lacerate the firmament of the sky like gnawing teeth. They don't just scoff at your metal weapons, they smash them and throw them into a fucking pit in the sea, and take apart your castle board-by-board and brick-by-brick before setting it all on fire and howling at the moon while they dance in the ashes. Any coinage they find gets put on a longship that's built just for the occasion out of pieces of ruined houses, and sent out to sea while on fire like a gold-and-magic-item-laden Viking funerary ship.
There's probably millions of pounds of precious metal and stones lost in the bottom of some sea trench because of the zeal of these motherfuckers. Their name even translates to Common as "Sundersteel".The reason they do this all is because the demigods they worship are actually spirits of Elemental Earth who show them a future where mountains and forests are fucking flattened and replaced with grey plains, while great obelisks are erected that constantly rend the firmament of the sky like metal-and-glass teeth of a scavenger. Men hold thunder and lightning in their hands, and rocs howl on wings of flame while serpents have wild hair that swings them high into the sky with their eldritch gibbering.

>We've got the Ogrehide tribe
So basically just vanilla barbs?

More like green/brown Turks with a thing for ritual scarring since tattoos don't always show up as easily on their skin. Also, orcs don't have the fucking patience to work with little needles dipped in ink all of the time. Bladehymn are pretty cool with tattoos after being taught how to do them by polynesian coastal elves.

>The Blood Mammoth tribe

Through a weird mixing of blood some of the orks of the far north fucked some mountain Trolls an some generations later us some Torks! A clan of mixed blood we like ta call torks are slower, and dumber but all ta'gether BIGGER MEANER and can take a beatin like some of our toughest.

They about 8 ta 12 feet tall, an durable as they are dumb. Some got tusks like elephants an boars an even worse they got a trolls healin speed. It's a good ol fight if ya want yer blood pumpin. They're at least smart enough ta follow the old ways which means fightin raidin an drinkin. If ya can keep em organized an happy then ya got a real handy siege party. Make sure ta keep em from fire though, the fuckers seem extra flammable. Just load em up wit some gear an point em in a direction an they'll brute stick there way ta victory.

>The Clan-less

The Clan-less are a miserable lot. No loyalty no home no trust. These sorry sods have not earned a proper orc death, they have shown no loyalty to their clan and have shown such dishonor that instead of death they have become exiled. A mark of an exile is scarred onto the face of a Clan-less and lets all who see them know of their dishonor. Their name is taken and they are cast out, no orc will shelter them, no orc will trust them an in some cases a tribe may even hunt them down like dogs.

Orcs from many tribes make up this lot, I guess rats on a sinking boat. Some of these orcs have come together to make a clan of exiles and the irony isn't lost. Since no orc will help em they go round takin odd jobs as mercenaries an hired crooks. Most of the group wear masks ta cover up the mark. If ya see one be sure ta keep an eye out there are bound ta be more about.

...

...

>Shark Tooth Clan
A clan that lives by an ocean and river who fish with their bare hands and newts. They take pride in excellent harpooning and catching the biggest fish.
In a nearby mountain lives a rather large dragon who they have "tamed" with fish. The dragon heats a pound inside the mountain fueled by the snow atop the mountain. he creates "natural" hot springs that the orcs use for rituals.
The not so distant human city makes trade with them buying the orcs herbs and massive amount of fish related shit.

Sunderclaws. Very much one of the wilder and more barbaric tribes. Don't understand metal working but will use stolen weapons. Feared for their usual raiding tactics: their druids and shamans shapeshift the raiding party into rats birds and other kinds of insignificant creature where they then infiltrate and turn back into hulking fuck orcs in the middle of camps and villages.

>The Warg Lance Tribe
Some orc clans utilise a vanguard of dire wolf riders to harass or charge their foes, much like the horse-riding cavalry units of many human cities, with the benefit of their mounts being just as vicious fighters as their riders naturally. The Warg Lances take this strategy to an extreme - based near a forest which is all but reigned over by the massive canids, it is a right of passage for an orc of the Black Lances to head into the woodland and either abduct a pup to raise as their mount, or better yet to subdue a wild adult and force it to submit, for this shows great power and strength, especially in a still-developing young adult.
By contrast, to lose one's mount is to become a pariah in the tribe, and for many Warg Lances who lose their wolves to battle, the very first thing they do once they return home is to head straight into the forest and acquire a new mount. It helps that wargs tend to accumulate yet more muscle mass as the load they carry increases, giving an easy indicator for seniority amongst the tribe - the bigger your dire wolf, the more power you wield, with the largest wolves taking to battle beneath the strongest orcs regardless of lineage (though some smarter Warg Lances manage to game this system by killing the current tribe leader, and hoping they can wrestle the leader's wolf into submission to claim ownership of it without getting their throats torn out).

>This clan dabbles in demonolatry, summoning demons and pairing them with orcish women in order to breed tanarukks as shock troops for the clan. They bear demonic marks and unholy deformities in pride, much in the same way other clans would do with scars and tattoos. The clan is feared and secretly despised by many, but quite powerful

>This clan is martial Buddhists who believe that the goal in life is to become a strong enough warrior to (literally) break out of the cycle of reincarnation. The males renounce material possessions in order to pursue martial arts and raid shit, while the women and peons run the modest settlements. They absolutely omniloathe necromancy and will kill necromancers on sight

>This clan is located by the shore and mostly lives off fishing and gathering mollusks. Their villages are actually enormous mounds of floating trash. Not the best fighters, their MO is petty piracy and their signature weapon is the mere harpoon. They trade with the other races quite a lot

>Remote rural clan which is basically a bunch of inbred, retarded, murderous hicks from horror movies. Or ogres from Pathfinder

...

The mediORCer Clan.
They they a bunch of failed bards who spit out nonstop puns.

A decent lazy man idea might be to take the Warcraft orc clans and just rename them.

Why oh why do they always have green skin?

Why do humans always have pale peach color skin?
Some orc have red or black skin.

There's a pretty clear evolutionary explanation for that.
Not so for green skin.

>The Upper Cut
An high society orc gang who enjoy such fripperies as fine dining, swing jazz music and decent grooming, so as to differentiate themselves from other, "lesser" orcs. They still armor up and break skulls like any other clan when the time comes for battle, but are viewed as curious and strange by other clans for their novel habits.

bigot detected

not all orcs are green

Damn nigga I flew that way over your head. I was being sarcastic. Most humans are not white.
I would assume orcs evolved there green to skin. Mabey they get energy from the sun like plants in addition to there food giving them then enough energy to grow big muscles. Maby the difference in suns or sun environments can change orc skin color over time into red or black. Not like I could actually inspect an orc to find out.

maybe for camouflage in a jungle environment too

>Snikrot Tribe

>Chieftain Azhag Breakfist

Primarily made of freed Orc Slaves from human, dwarf, and elf cities the Snikrot tribe is a primarily raiding force operating between the settlements and cities of more "civilized" races.

Many half-breeds are among the tribe, finding some measure of acceptance in their ranks.

>Spindle weave tribe

Living in the western forests this tribe has adapted the tactics of the tunnel spider. Rather than fighting head on and risk losing good orcs they use surprise attacks taking out caravans in moments. The males being to heavy to hide in the trees dig ditches and cover themselves with brush, while the females hide in the trees waiting with wire nooses to hang unwanted travelers. They hide by roads waiting for carts and caravans to raid. The men will grab victims pulling them into the holes while the women will slip the nooses around the victims riding and then jump off the branches hanging their prey. Speed is the key, striking with cold precision. They even sometimes let the horses and carts go to fool pink skins into thinking the woods are haunted.

While the hunters are away the young peons and those who can't join stay in the camp growing mushrooms and other vegetables for food should a hunt fail.

A red orc. im not a fan of this pic but its alright.

>The Fire Rock clan

An old and fierce clan. Th fire rocks reside in a now redead lich's keep. The orc chieftain slew the lich many moons ago.

The red skinned orcs have been affected by the residual magiks of the lich and can now push past their bodies normal threshold to the point of fighting with broken bones or severe wounds as if the were fine.

As a right of passage the orcs will go to the depths of the tower to where an ever burning fire lays. The young orc will hold an arm to the flame and let the unnatural flame creep up the limb. Once the hand is engulfed they will put out the flame and the hand will be scared with creeping black marks. Should a chieftain be challenged both orcs will take the flame and whoever can last the longest before putting out the flames is the victor. The current leader is the charred king and uses the liches sythe.

Little do the orcs know they are feeding the liches philactory

I love that pic!!!! Got any more?

I'm on my cell so unfortunately no, but if you search red orc on Google this will show up. Once I get home I plan on posting more red orcs.

>The stormson clan

This Particular Orcish clan lives on the Thunder Plains.

Covering themselves head to toe in thick copper armour, this Orcish clan does not consider you a true warrior if you have not been struck by ligtning and lived to tell the tale

...

...

The Bog-Feast Clan.

A clan which has been pushed into the swamps decades ago, and is now finally thriving in there. Boats, secret alcoves, knowledge of the plants and monsters - you name it.

>The Wretched Tooth Clan
>A band of gruesome orcs whose strength revolves around their plentiful supply of iron and forges, ages ago the clan had stumbled onto an old metal work sight that had been abandoned, the ore vein still barely tapped into, and all the equipment still left around. It didn't take long for the orcs to figure out what to do. As a result, nearly all the orcs of the Wretched Tooth are equipped with heavy armor and lots of weapons. They also have a specialty weapon, massive towers of wood and iron, bristling with spears and arrows, these towers are more than capable of being mobile, thanks to the massive dire beasts that are kept inside the towers, pulling and pushing the war structures wherever the handler point them. The current chief is a orc named Torska, who has a knack for tactics.

Please please have a pork clan

I thought he was fucking it at first...

Porks are weeaboo shit go put that in an elf thread.

Is that fucking Katniss?

...

Can we have some kind of clan formed around Asian combat styles? like kung fu, samurai and monks.

The only respectable part of Japaneses culture are their ancient combat groups.

...

...

they also breed battle-hogs for goblins and even orcs to ride.

The Boulderfist

Delirious travelers and grizzled caravan guards speak of an orc tribe regularly impeding the progress of trade missions by sending down one fighter to personally challenge each and every grown adult male in hand to hand combat.

Once the bouts are over the caravan may pass, but either their men or the orc has to be defeated first.

The rest of the tribe observes from the cliffsides.

whats a good clan name for this group? jungle, extra muscles, iron/steel armor.

...

>Feral orcs, "led" by Yuge Toe
>There used to be a secluded clan called the Barkskin, named after the way they painted themselves when hunting. They lived in A Massive Forest, using sharpened bones as daggers to hunt down game due to their hatred of metalworking. They valued the natural world around them and respected the shape-shifting guardian of the forest. With plenty of food and land they thrived. Neighboring clans envied the abundance in which the barkskin lived and often attempted to encroach on their territory, only to be driven back when the fucking trees jump up and shank them to death.
3 generations ago four of those clans' chiefs met and decided to merge their clans and hold a 4way melee, with the victor becoming the new chief, who will lead an invasion into the forest. After a brutal fight No Arms, named after the number of his arms, chief of the Axejuggler clan, emerged victorious despite entering the arena with three eyes tied behind his back to "make it a fair fight".
Preparations for the invasion began and soon the combined forces marched into the overgrowth.
The barkskin, who rarely gather together, instead preferring to live as small families within a certain territory, all fell back deep into the forest. Afraid of the army attacking them they decided to call upon the forest guardian to imbue them with his power and help them protect their home. He sent the clan's shaman a vision in which the orc stalked a great wolf under the two full moons.
After an eternity of slowly approaching he tackled the wolf and they both tumbled in a flurry of fangs, claws and flesh. In the end the wolf was mortally wounded. The shaman sank his dagger into the beast's neck and lifted it's body over his head, drinking the blood as it fell on his face.
Suddenly he felt a dull ache all over his body, quickly growing to throbbing pain and then agony, sending him to convulse on the ground.
And this is apparently getting too long, im having way too much fun cont...

FUCKING GREENTEXT how does it work? I wont bother with it anymore

Soon it passed and as he stood up he felt new strength in his limbs, a youthful lightness to his movements, as if he was reborn. Well he was, obviously, what did you think the blessing of a shape-shifting demigod would be?
He was now a half-beast, half-orc, his massive frame now hunched over, arms and feet transformed into claws, his jaw protruding even further as his head now vaguely resembled a wolf's.
He shared what he'd seen with everyone and the whole clan dispersed. As the two moons, like watchful eyes, lit up the forest, the barkskins hunted fierce game to gain their new power and one by one turned into beastformers, orcs in disguise.
As the first light of dawn appeared, the area cleared of trees by the invasion force was surrounded by feral half-orcs, lurking in the last lines of foliage. Then they murdered everyone because they're beastorcs fighting regular orcs who are still asleep.
But the transformation was permanent and warped their minds, turning them into little more than animals, their orcinity lost, part of the guardian's domain now.
Once every year the two moons are full at the same time, during which night these feral orcs can repeat the hunt, twisting their bodies even further until they look like something out of impossible creatures. Also the transformations are hereditary.
Yuge Toe, the former chief, killed a massive gorilla and drank its blood on that first hunt, now he is a legend, never seen, only leaving behind footsteps with a really large right toe. He has, so far, killed 300 invading orcs.

This was fun, i should post bullshit on tg more often.

>The Murky Sisters

A tribe of female orcs from the land of the rising sun, the murky sisters pride themselves not solely on fighting prowess but instead their brewery skills. In the mountain of Kirowaii they spend their time patiently crafting fine ales and spirit. They share this mountain with many neighbors from the forest spirits to travelers even the Boulderfists have come across these interesting orcs. The Murky Sisters are not shy around strangers and while they may not attack and raid like most other orc tribes they will defend themselves from foolish thieves or rowdy travelers. They live in a temple on the mountain that yields many ingredients necessary for their well sought after spirits. They don't care much for possessions but the money from selling the brew brings in more than enough gold to feed the sisters.

While not actually sisters the tribe is made up solely of women. Should a male be born they will raise it to a toddler and then give it to the Boulderfist tribe to grow to be a warrior. Should a daughter be born they will raise it to become a brew master like the other sisters.

When not tending to the brews they focus on training their bodies, minds, and their fighting skills. The Murky Sisters practice drunken boxing and the older members are masters that teach the younger generations. The women are born to drink and fight and they love it.

One clan decking themselves out with Dwarf skulls, living in a half-finished dwarf fortress that was invaded by the clan in question, conquered, and made home by the tribe of outcast orcs.

To add to that, there's no real shame clinging to outcast orcs, as rowdy males are cast out of clans when they rebel, and go on to form their own bands with other young orcs.

Gemjaw, clan name pending.
