Real talk though, why do Iron Warriors have the hazard stripes?

>why do Iron Warriors have the hazard stripes?
So you see your death approaching, even in low-visibility workplace environments.

GW's website down for anyone else?

How do I fight better Necrons with Sisters of Battle.

Massive amount of penitent engines and hope for the best?

Yeah, FW too.

Continue to wait for an update.

Depends what Necrons you're fighting.

If it's the Decurion or Wraith spam, just tell the guy he's a cheese dick and walk away.

I don't think sisters have any real silver bullets for dealing with crons, your best hope is just to get objectives and hope they don't grind you down in time.

The same way you kill Necrons with anything- spam as many bullets as you can (best is heavy bolter- 3 Ap3 shots each will fuck up basic infantry's day) and bring a few anti-vehicle weapons, then if your opponent is that guy figure out how to down the 3++ rerolling ones with the 4+ FNP behind it. (Protip: You're fucked)

Become Dead Men--er, Dead Sisters Walking and just throw melta at it while obscuring the gunners with bodies.

The Emperor had forced them to place a hazard marking on everything constructed by the Iron warriors after one too many structural failures and cave-ins happened to fall onto his beloved porcelain throne.

spam meltas and heavy flamers but mostly meltas.

All of these links are redundant, since every last one of those you just posted is condensed into just 3 links in the OP. Other fandexes can be added if their creators are willing to give me some permalinks, or I can start a compiled library someday of all the particularly good 'fixdexes' like the SOB codex and space 0din.

There's also the problem that a lot of your links are BROKEN. You just keep copying the old ones without ever bothering to check if they're still active.

Which Wing is best? Greenwing, Deathwing or Ravenwing?

The Lord of Iron is not pleased.

Of the six wings you choose the two shittiest ones.

On the TT? Raven, no doubt.

In fluff? None, because Dark Angels are dumb.

Ironwing, of course.

Chaos kept the overly stringent H&S regulations after the heresy.

...

Why did land raiders lose the ability to take dozer-blades?

They had them until the 4e SM codex. Imperial Armor 2 2nd edition still has them as an option on all featured land raiders (including the Spartan Assault Tank).

How did we lose the technology to stick a bit of metal in front of the land raider like we do on everything else? Worse, I can buy them to protect a 35 point rhino but not a 250 point land raider?

The hell is that supposed to be?

Because it blocks the access hatch?

In the fluff all wings.

The last thread got me into a Black Templar mood so I've got to ask: how do you Black Templar in 2000/16 ?

Do you guys actually take an Emperor's Champion or another named HQ or just build your own Smashfucker ? Any large Crusader Squads on foot or in Land Rairders ?

Because the Imperium is built upon forgotten knowledge. Even at the time of the Great Crusade, much had been forgotten. The scattered human colonies had been cut off from Terra for thousands of years.

It's completely reasonable that on whatever planet the Iron Warriors were running around on, a local belief system formed around the hazard stripes which were found on many of the old machines the colony used. As time passes, the original purpose of the stripes becomes forgotten, but from father to son, generation after generation, the colonists are taught that if you see the stripes, you must be cautious. Over time, this morphs into a belief that the stripes prevent the machine from harming you during its use. It's a quick step from there to putting stripes on all machines to ensure their safe operation. Every time someone used a machine that lacked the stripes and was injured would re-enforce the belief, whilst those who were injured using machines that had the stripes would be chided for not showing proper deference to the stripes.

So then why do land raiders have a one in six chance to break down and become immobile over rough terrain?

Then why can the Land Raider Helios, Land Raider Prometheus, Spartan Assault Tank, and all normal land raiders up until C:SM 5e hit take them? Clearly that wasn't a problem for anyone until 2008. Then only the stock land raiders in core codexes forgot how to use them. Looks like the 6e DE codex still had dozer blades available for land raiders as well, unless I'm missing something.

>are any fags better than the TOTALLY NOT HERETICAL Dark Angels

nigga you serious?

*6e Dark Angels, not DE. Sorry. D'eldar in a land raider might be terrifying though.

What do the dark eldar have to do with this?

They forgot how to make exploritor modification.
Now they can't be good over rough terrain without blocking the hatch

Deathwing > Greenwing/Ironwing > Ravenwing

In actuality it was something Perturabo brought from Olympia most likely.

But the SoB codex is shit. As is the "Angels of Ruin" Chaos thing.

If you were playing a quick, fun 500 point game where you were only allowed to bring basic troop choices for your faction and nothing else, what would you bring and why? Which faction would have the easiest time winning?

Inquisitorial land raiders can still take dozer blades.

We just started 40k, but I have to say that Godzilla is excellent cover.

> Land Raider Helios
> Land Raider Prometheus
> Spartan Assault Tank
> All Land Raiders prior to 2008.

They actively had to retcon the ability to take dozer blades. Even weirder, it looks like DA still retain the ancient and mysterious secrets of taking rhino blades and sticking them on a land raider, as I'm not seeing anything that says they can't.

And apparently Inquisitorial Land Raiders still can, per So what the fuck?

A female tabletop wargaming miniature designed by a woman, does that bother you, cis scum?
Well guess what, you're going to be seeing a lot more women in your precious hobby.

What is the best way to begin playing WH40k on the cheap? Just buy the starter edition?

daemonettes because that's what i usually use

Meltas and Exorcists will help wear down their infantry by bypassing their armor saves and will hurt their reanimation protocols with double toughness. Necron Warriors will be relying on a 5+ save as opposed to a 4+/4+ save. Mass bolter fire can also work in a pinch.

First, throw out any ideas of not having your wallet skullfucked to death if you continue any further into this hobby.

Second, yes, buying a start collecting set is not a bad idea.

Probably Scions cuz AP 3 and special rules. At 500 points I could bring 25 and some special weapons.

Play 30k with Sigismund, the greatest non-primarch warrior of all time, and bring enough Templars in Land Raiders to murderfuck your way through all opposition.

Not one bit

If you can, try to avoid buying straight from GW.

>Get on my level pleb

Does inquisition henchmen count as troops? If so, them, since 65-point bolter and psyker blobs are more cost-efficient than most things.

I for one am excited to see overweight men of questionable hygiene panting over their meticulously painted lewd miniatures in public for what would have been a friendly game.

Pink Horrors. Summon more Pink Horrors or explode into a Greater Daemon. Ruin the spirit of the contest.

Is buying a 'used' set advisable? or should I look for a sealed one on Amazon or Ebay?

quoted wrong

>scoria
>human
He surpassed the flesh in a way that IH can only dream of. I love how his face is just stapled on. Kelbor Hal When?

If you can find a good deal on one, sure, why not? Neat thing about the start collecting sets is they usually have a ready made formation you can play with. At least some of them do. What armies are you interested in?

Except they arent. There are two different booklinks that hold different content, whitedwarfs which aren't in the other links, and the forgeworld bookindex provides referance to where FW model rules can be found in the books. If you want to have a fandex section, make a mega with each pdf with a creditation section under each entry.

I was actually reading up on them as an alternative to 40k Templars and they seem supper expensive per model. Not really a big rampaging horde but I guess that doesn't work anymore.

I was thinking Necrons or Spacemarines.
but I don't know enough to say definitiveley

You have to remember that 30k's 1.5 is our 2.5.

Or something like that. Basically 30k is played at a much higher points level than 40k is.

How do the 30k legion lists compare to the 40k world? Would they be competitive? OP?

He's very possessive of that book. I guess he hasn't yet been disappointed by the ending.

power armor gypsy will steal all your shit.

Do mouse cords count as difficult terrain? Jokes aside you can make some make shift terrain from cereal boxes and empty toliet tissue rolls make excellent towers

Other way around. 30ks 2.5k is our 1.5k

What is the top most flyer?

they're actually decent, more towards a middle of the road balance than 40k decurion/gladius/etc formations, but keep in mind they're designed for playing higher points level games. average 30k game is 3000pts, and that's about where they reach best parity with 40k stuff.

The legion lists are mid-tier. At lower points levels they'll get wrecked by a lot of things, but can still hold their own. At higher points levels they will wreck a lot of things.

So, worse than C:SM but far better than CSM.

Middle of the pack. Generally weaker at lower levels. Top 40k is leagues ahead of top 30k, and I'd be willing to bet that 40k Imperial super-friends could make a scarier deathstar point-for-point than any of the primarch-stars.

Any rumors when we're supposed to get the next HH forgeworld book?

its funny, but locally a lot of the chaos players have gone full heresy and started making legions and warbands from the time of the scouring using 30k as a base, and the results have actually made playing against chaos a LOT more fun since the legion used as the base gives each a different flavor, along with the more flexible of the two auxiliaries lists (I forget the official name, I think its solar auxilia?) used for cultists results in some fun stuff. it also evokes a really great "old and grumpy vs new" feel to the battles.

Looks like a great start! Good luck.

That's our plan. We've been saving beer boxes for that specific purpose. We're a pretty crafty bunch.

I'm trying to run a Planetary Empires campaign over Tabletop Simulator, but most of my friends keep being wishy-washy with when they're available. Would anyone here be interested in playing, assuming they have Tabletop Sim?

>the dark tower ending

Sweet lord don't remind me.

Cults and militia.
Solar auxiliary are more rigid, better equipped, and better trained.

Check all links, include all that work.

Where's that "random Necron list vs. Orks" user?

Want that batrep for the schadenfreude.

No 30k army can hold a candle to the 40k ones because of the decurions and superfriends combos.

Danw of War 3 gameplay with narration.
youtube.com/watch?v=ZAy0N-lFGFc

Surprise surprise, it looks like fucking shite. Manages to look worse than DoW 1 from gameplay perspective alone.

It looks like a fugging cartoon.

That said, as soon as they break 2k and can bring LoW units, it can be great with the right matchup. I played Nightlords ft. Curze and a bunch of Terror squads, along with a podded Leviathan and a bunch of ground-pounding contemptors against a Tau list featuring an optimised Stealth Cadre and Riptide Wing. There were no survivors, and i only lost two contemptors and a Terror squad, Curze only lost one wound from a plasma crisis team. The 'Test leadership or flee' thing from curze killing a unit is amazing, since as soon as he caught a Riptide it died, messily, and anything near it turned tail and ran, including the aforementioned Crisis Team.

Where can I find the files for combat patrol? Can't seem to locate it in the mega.

Eldar have the best flyers from a normal standpoint. The manta is the best shv flyer. Necrons have the best flyers from battlefleet gothic.

Does that really happen though? I've never seen lewd models being played in person.

Trueborn count as regular Kabalites as per the FAQ, so assuming we can't bring dedicated transports I guess I'd run
>10 Warriors
>10 Warriors with Splinter Cannon
>10 Warriors with Splinter Cannon
>5 Trueborn with 4 Blasters
>5 Trueborn with 4 Blasters

I'd immediately proceed to die terribly without ever getting anywhere near killing range for anything. kek.

Easiest time winning would probably be GK with a bunch of Termie psykers. Or, depending on the mission, maybe some sort of Daemon summoning faggotry or a giant horde of heretics or whatever.

4th edition rulebook was the last time it was published in any book. There are some tourneys that have their own versions that you might want to try

>GK with a bunch of Termie psykers
Enjoy having twelve models for your entire army

>Not a dev video answering questions
>Another video of the same mission with commentary
Regardless of how shit the game looks, if the game isn't fun there's no hope, and it isn't looking good so far. What a way to end the DoW series.

If I ever do manage to play this I'm not going to play SM in multiplayer ever if lascannons continue to stream piss colored laser beams.

So basically Penitent Engines, every fucking squad with heavy flamer and melta. In order to make no clear priority target.
Sadly both.

I'm happy I could destroy 4 wraith with a 1000 point army. I still think I should just play with a 1000 points more.
2000 SoB vs 1000 Necrons seems fair. It's not like anyone would notice with all the cheap cheese new codex and formations can pull out.

>What a way to end the DoW series.
Wait, have they said this will be the last game?
Given the nature of both sega and GW, it would make little sense for them to retire a series, instead of trying to get as much cash as they can out of it.

That lascannon decision was shitty as fuck. It worked like in the fluff in all previous games, why turn it into a continuous beam all of a sudden?

They'd still rape the shit out of my DEldar, I think. Plus they'd basically have an entire game phase to themselves unless they were fighting Daemons.

Also, on a different but related note: How does everyone feel about the Eldar, DEldar, and Harlequin FAQs? I missed the last thread. To me it seemed like everything that wasn't errata in the CE FAQ was obvious or just a slightly more helpful reading of the rules. Errata on Warp Spiders was a good idea. DEldar FAQ was okay I guess, feels good to finally settle the (extremely fucking obvious) debate over the 10 pt HQ scenario. In fact, combined with the Trueborn-are-Warriors, that part makes it so the boxed set can actually be useful, imo. Run it with Trueborn, then run a CAD with a single Llhamaean (fuck spelling, too lazy to google) and Venom Warriors, and it's actually useful.

I don't know anything about Harlies so I can't comment on that.

grey knights they're probably the only faction where the relative power of the army is an inverse curve. they're strongest at really low points or really high points, and weakest inbetween where they're let down by high points costs per model and can't rely on LoW/Inquisitorial support to give them an extra push.

Not really, a total of WC2 and shitty prechosen powers means that GK termies are pretty mediocre. Daemons/CWE would destroy them

Who the fuck knows?
Why remove the cover system and replace it with a retarded capture point that makes you invulnerable to shooting attacks?
Why bring back basebuilding only to simplify it to the point of utter banality?
Why refer to your troops as "line units" like they were from a fucking moba?
Why does Gabriel jump around like a Harlequin in a god damn terminator suit?

So many questions.
