Can it be swung sheathed?

Use it to cut things in-situ. Like leave the sword in one place and use it to cut stone or wood really easily.

Heat it up, creating a nanometer-scale vacuum gap between air and the surface of the sword.

Encase it with water

You don't consider air matter? It's not fucking vacuum you know.

Conquer Atlantis

Drag it across the ground and slice upwards, sheath it after each kill (I'm guessing the sheath is free game?

>gases aren't matter

>sword wont swing through air
>so put it in an aquarium and swing it around in that!
>cursed sword becomes a really inefficient high maintenance one use club

>It's not fucking vacuum you know.
No, but the gaps between the air molecules are vacuums, and air has a lot of gaps.

The nastiest punji stick.

Oh, weird.

Guess I'll leave it there.

Looking at all the posts in this thread, I guess the moral of the story is that the sword is a really fucky magical artifact.

Who enchanted this? I'd like to see him personally.

>I'd like to see him personally.
You may come to regret it.

Be a wizard

Go about casting this on everything because no sense of right or wrong.

Trees, villagers, princesses all just falling through the floor due to this curse +gravity

Tell other wizards about this, becomes fad.

Soon Meteorolomancers are complaining about the weather systems. Geomancers are telling us the sheer amount of shit we did this to has diluted the makeup of the planets core.

Decide we'll fix this by going to the center of the world and destroying all the shit we sent down with a greater spell of destruction.

The Core:Wizard Edition

It wouldn't help anyway. You'd hit someone and cut through the sheath, but then the air touching the rest of the blade would stop it cold. It'd be like trying to slice skin that's flush with a sheet of metal.
Stabs might work, briefly, but again air would form what amounts to a retaining ring around the blade, stopping you from stabbing further.

Solution: give it to an anime character who can pull off that shockwave vacuum thing, send them to fight huge monsters you can bury the whole sword in.

What if you move the air instead?

The perfect weapon for space warfare

Imma cast invisibility on it and then hide it in doorways at neck height.

By that logic, everything less dense than a neutron star is a vacuum.

Swing it with a Scabbard, upon contact it will slice up the Scabbard along with the target.
The true problem is how to deal with it afterwards, you'll have to find a way to sheathe it back to move it around.
8/10 equip, would keep to OKHO bosses that fight alone.

this thing probably kicks 30 kinds of ass in an aquatic campaign.

This.

Imagine shooting this thing out of an air cannon, or learning how to Airbend. It would cut through anything.

Like shit, if this thing literally cannot RESIST the force of air it doesn't even have to be that much air. Supposing you encased this sword in some wood and held it above the ground.

Now take off the encasing, very gently, so as not to disturb the air.

The sword will remain suspended midair, since the force of gravity is counteracted by the inability to move through air.

Then all you have to do is quite simply blow a puff of air and the sword, being moved by the air since it cannot move through air, will move at the speed of air movement.

The best part? Once it actualy does strike solid matter it doesn't matter what speed or force with, whether it's paper or titanium it WILL move through and slice.

Isn't it more likely that the minute movement of removing the casing and then stepping back will create just enough vaccuum to make said super sensitive to air movement sword come back and slice you in half?

Don't even bother going near it.

Buy a leafblower and fling the sword at enemies like a leaf.
