Bumping fresh bread

Still just Chuck to go.

Rolled 3, 10 = 13 (2d20)

Apologies, I tried fighting the wireless work connection to do my orders in the morning, but just gave up after Captcha spat in my face because it wouldn't stay on one connection for 3 minutes together.

Just how large is a MEGAbear?

If the map is to scale (which we have no reason to doubt and plenty to believe), they look about twice the size of a GGA Crocodile. So about 10 meters tall at the shoulder, and 20 meters long.

Holy crud. So they are large as average building parts?

What gets me is that as large as they are, Merikan garages are bigger. Even the small ones could hold a tank or as we've seen an MGP, and the ones in the mansion grounds are as big as the actual mansions, and could fit most of our assault team in them with plenty of elbow room.

To add, I don't even think those were their only mobile gun platforms.

But man, can you imagine talking to railgun guy at a barbeque? He'd be completely insufferable talking about his ride. Glad I don't live in this neighbourhood.

Speaking of barbeque, we're taking some bear meat back with us. And Tragedy, try and collect as much alcohol as you can!

Hell yeah. Better leave B4 though, I think you winged it with your gamma gun and I don't wanna take any chances I swear if I come back to base and find you cooking stuff on it...

You sure about the booze though? This is Haxton Guye's personal brew we're talking about. God only knows what proof it is. I know you're all about collecting war crime tools, but the point of those is to inflict them on 'other' people.

Scared to drink a little guye brew huh?

"I wouldn't trust my life on a Merikan beer, it's all cheap and tastes terrible."

See, I'm not like those Guye Co. jocks. That kind of shit doesn't work on me. You're going to have to bribe me with something a little more enticing than pride.

Besides, at least that animal neurotoxin rotgut you had me drinking had some spice, even if it was awful. From what I've heard, and what I know about Guye, it's just the boring kind of shitty. Like, "Why does he go to all the trouble to make this stuff, doesn't he know he can just go to a wholesalers and pickup paint thinner by the gallon?"

Hey we can cut it with fruit juice if its too strong for you.

"well, I wouldn't mind talking with him, as I can see he's a man, or woman? anyway, man of taste who knows the superiority of railguns. I would share tips and tricks, tidbits about the maintenance and modifica- I mean some minor tweaks to make the gun pack more boom.
...uh, guys? are we seriously going to steal things now? and alcohol, of all things?"

Oh, come off it rich boy. I saw how you took Horst's own brew and it wasn't any better than me.

Yes, but refined mega-fauna venom can hardly compare to the beer given to Guye Co employees right?

Hey, I don't see them rushing to lick it up off the ground. Besids, the point of the job is to stop them from having it. Can't have it if we've taken it, right?

And I'm sure the recovery team can grab us some choice bear cuts while they're dragging off Bludhawk's mech.

Well, Horst claims to have drunk with Guye, I'm sure he'd know (provided he's not just full of shit).

Maybe you wouldn't, but living out in Midas has taught me something: take what you can get.
Besides, that isn't beer. And from what I've heard about Guye, those spirits will have a pleasantly powerful bouquet, and a whole range of subtle aftertastes for you to enjoy when you wake up.
It isn't theft, it's spoils.

>it's spoils.
I'd punch you for that pun if you were here. As is, I'll just have to do with shaking my fist in the air angrily.

Horrible?!!
It wasn't even rotgut!
It was honeyed widow!
It's a parlor drink, like a table wine where I'm from.
My sister drank that since she was six!
If you can't handle that, then muckmaw destilled rotgut would kill you
I actually agree that merikan beer is equal to goat piss, but I hate most shit but some of the wines that come from those royalist nations.
Who would turn down a drink from Mr. guye though?
Even if it is swill?

>Can't have it if we've taken it, right?
"well, sure, but how are we gong to carry all those liquor? those tanks look really big to carry around with VTOL..."

"like loot?"

>muckmaw destilled rotgut would kill you
Yeah, literal actual poison has a way of doing that.

I'm still here ain't I?

You know that thing the old emperors would do where they deliberately imbibed poison on a regular basis in an attempt to build up an immunity? I'm starting to become convinced that's what you've done, only with progressively more inadvisable alcohols.

The map isn't to scale. In fact scale is something I've probably fucked up when making the assets to this game. Most of the tokens are sized for visibility/impressiveness rather than being a 100% accurate representation of their size relative to other tokens.

Beginning turn processing...

Can we still have 10 meters tall at the shoulder, and 20 meters long MEGAbears?

>#48513207
Can't do that otherwise everybody will want to hold the detonations on the indirect fire weapons that didn't hit where they want. A miss is a miss.

Kail: Hack failed... warning counter-intrusion detected, systems compromised. High tech systems offline. Long Bow offline...

If you really want to...

>standby for NPC phase

I should be one more hex in the 2 direction Command.

And nice toss Tragedy.

>all those crits
Crud, the pilot actually might be dead.

>Super Pugilist had a ECCM pod
well that's another dirt cryptic can use to taunt the B.O.S.S. pilot.

Don't worry, she has another demo charge, she's got this.

Cable Guy: "Chuck behind you!"

>standby for aftermath...

"I can't believe he actually broke through my defenses. I'm actually ashamed there, I mean, he's a B.O.S.S, but still, it's an ECCM on a Guye Co goon !"

Hold on a minute, did the wimp just damage itself?

oh crud. I forgot to tell Chuck yesterday when I got home.
looks like he's gonna be okay though. total damage this turn was 18, while he had 14 HP left last turn.

After the explosions die down a battered hatch on the wrecked batman slowly swings open and a rather battered Chuck tumbles out. A camel is inexplicably waiting for him at the foot of his mech.

Cable Guy: "Oh thank The One, for a moment there I though Chuck had bought it. Spare we need to think about retreating, Tragedy needs a little more time to destroy the distillery but these homeowners look like they're about to turn their guns on us."

------------

MGP-F: "Just cus I wasted those Guye Co dicks doesn't mean I'm on your side merc. Your little operation got muh wall wrecked!"

MGP-C: "Yeah! Mine too. Get out of or neighbourhood now! Or we'll waste you too!"

---------

Cable Guy:"You know you could put a missile in both of them before they get the chance to retaliate, just saying."

Wat Do? (Spare or Kail must decide since they are in the immediate area. Whoever posts first will have their actions played out.)
>retreat prematurely? (Fail distillery destruction)

>Waste em (Mission ends with all objectives complete, but you will live with the guilt that you killed someone just because it was the easiest and most expedient thing to do.)

>Intimidate them (Spare or Kail roll a d20, redline cannot be used. If the average is over 10 the mission will be completed with all objectives, if not another round of combat will ensue and actions must be declared normally.)

>Compensate them (Mission ends with all objectives complete but with -15 to company payout. However you will sleep soundly knowing that you did the right thing.)

"Uh, guys? what happened to the Super pug? Is he... dead?
-Uh oh. Shoot. I'll just sit here and let the superiors handle the non-combat talks..."

Can we pay them off with captured Guye Co 50th Anniversary Private Reserve Ale? I'm sure we can muster up close to a life time's supply for them.

Rolled 14 (1d20)

"Look guys. This is a Swarmer micro-missile pod. It pretty much shreds through armor, and there's shrapnel flying everywhere. Not a pretty way to go, I would know about it, we lost a good pilot to one of these.

Long story short, let's make deal : Walk away. We won't stick around for much longer, and we'll all come out alive. Sounds fair ? You guys are outgunned and outnumbered, and even in the unlikely event you manage to wreck one of us, the others will just fucking crush you. Shit, you'll even have the satisfaction of seeing those Guye Co jokers losing their precious beer. Imagine, sipping an ice cool beer while the workers watch with envy.

Please don't do anything rash. We would both regret it, and I'm too young to live with this kind of shit."

What the Haxxkid said

C'mon. This way you can reinforce your wall with scrapped bear armor and mount one of 'em as a signal for others to stay out. And you got to punch GuyeCo.

Practically community service. Here, gimme your accounts and we'll sort something out. Have a 30% Merc Voucher. Next time someone wrecks your stuff, call us.

Kill jester

You can almost hear the painful sound of egos being crushed in the face of superior firepower. Wordlessly the MGPs slink back into their respective garages. A minute later an explosion kicks off at the Guye Co. compound as Tragedy blows the distillery.

The Puglist-X demonstrated several special attacks that could be performed with it's experimental power fists. Without the custom systems incorporated in the original arm assembly the salvaged fist can only perform at the same level of a mass production model... it does look a lot cooler though.

((K I'm prepare the next mission, if this thread is still alive when I'm done we can go straight into the briefing.))

Tragedy will take the time to loot a pallet of beer, leaving a few cases/kegs outside of both those homeowners' driveways. The lion's share goes back to the C3 Super Secret Base.

I'll post repair costs once I figure out how much all my crap costs.

Tragedy would discover that the distillery produced casks of extremely potent hard liquor distilled from fermented bear urine and enhanced with propylene glycol, artificial sweeteners, battery acid and industrial lubricant.

With the garage doors finally closed, Kail made sure his external speakers were off, and let out a huge sigh.
"Can't believe it worked... My legs feel like jelly. Anyway, good job everyone, we did good. Really good."

"This shit reminds me of this kegger I went to once at a sorority house. Someone brought this stuff, Misco, that had a reputation for being both cheap and having terrible quality control. >Horst requests the fist be mounted on his pugilists left arm

Command, it might be a bit late for this, but it looks like Chuck took 3 damage per shot from that Wimp because he has composite armour.

Thing is, he also has deflection angles, so shouldn't he have taken 2 damage per shot because the ability increased his all round DR to 2?

(Cryptic sort of deflates into his seat as the tension leaves him)

Whew. That went pretty damn well. Nice hustle out there guys. The distillery was destroyed, the bears were all killed and we slew our first boss and the timeline was preserved.

This was a great piece of gear to play around with. Now I'll definitely have to look into getting my own.

I think we're rounding up with maintenance.
Also seriously, stop double posting, it's getting fairly ridiculous at this point.

Seems we are, amending.
>Payout 40

Sorry, bad habit. I tend to think of things after I've already posted.

I seemed to have overlooked that... after recalculating all the damage he shouldn't have gotten wrecked.

If he's seeing this then he can adjust his payout accordingly.

>at least we held our own flank
"That was good and all, but I'm certain that I wasn't the only one that was horrified when that super pugilist veered off into the other alleyway. I came to help as soon as I saw him get invested on a certain alley, and boy, was it close. If it wasn't for spare's jammer something bad might have happened."

I think I have enough for a proper stealth Predator now.

Oh boy, another predator amongst our ranks? this is great.

While you guys wait, Dvorak's intel has been added to the lore folder:

Im also tempted to go full artillery and make a Zenith w Cluster rockets, and then 4 HK missles.

What are shadestorm?

Can't resist that sleek Apex architechture eh? Well, I know how you feel. That Summit will finally be mine

Hmm, the thick plottens. What I'd really like to know is who's responsible for Brain Box, a group capable of developing that kind of tech and being such a well kept secret is a big red flag.

INB4 Command pulls a Front mission on us and Brain Box is an actual human brain in a box.

Was going to ask this too. Best guess, an upmarket PMC.

Interesting. So there was someone working against the IF in the shadows. And Recursor is probably still kicking around. Not gonna lie, this mech is making me drool.

If I had to guess, they're probably a high-grade merc outfit.

We might be able to get LHI depending on how much salvage we get from the next mission. I think they will truely unlock the next level of tanking!

Well we've got 66 company cred from the convoy and this mission. We only need a few more creds and then we're good.

Linebreaker.
Shell plating. Composite/reactive armour.
Charge booster.
Become UNSTOPPABLE.

Did the scrap collectors bring in any Creds? since its not listed in the company rewards.

Add in a Tac Shield on for that sweet 7 Damage reduction with composite, or 14 with reactive

14 shouldn't be a problem and if we get the LHI contract but we are getting a major support assets overhaul so I'm not sure if we will get it this time around.
I think "wonder twins" would be the most tanky. Stand next to each other and advance as a team...

Zenith with
Portable Fabricator
Reactive Armor
Repair Arm
Smoke Launcher
Demo-charge

They don't stack like that.

What he said, DR from equipment doesn't stack with itself. Besides, shell plating is like a shield on steroids.

I've been looking at a linebreaker for when Chuck needs another tank instead of a dps machine, we ARE still the MASH bro's

Yeah just remembered that. But that charge booster gives soo much movement. If a mech had base move of 4, thats a 16 hex charge, assuming a clear path.

Well, shell plating knocks it down to 12, but it's still bloody far.

A commando makes that 18, WHILE potentially Stealthed, only thing faster is cirrus.

It'd be 20, wouldn't it? (5x2x2)
And isn't a commando Cirrus 16?

>PROCESSING.......
Yeah, but only in a straight line, which is more situational I'd argure.
Still, for all that tankiness potential I'd take it over a cirrus any day

ow, that +10 damage if it hits. So with an impact hammer thats 20 damage in a single hit.

Or berserker and dual wield impact hammers... Even if it only goes up to 16 spaces, with +1 damage from point blank and both hammers, that's +9 to each hit, so you'd wind up doing 36 points of damage...

Come on man, that maniacal gleam in your eyes is starting to freak me out.

I'm just saying.

With point blank and berserker, you can charge up to 16 spaces and add half that to two attacks, and with tactical advance, you could theoretically move across the field, hit, and back away.

I'm not sure how tactical advance plays into the 'straight line movement' thing. I think it might need all your moves to be in a single straight line.

Although, in a Linebreaker you probably wouldn't even need to back off. Even without plating they're hella tough.

Clearly, you just keep advancing in a straight line.

Cable Guy: “You guys know the drill by now: escort the supply trucks through to the evacuation point. The Red Crux are moving medical teams through the mountains to provide aid to poor settlements in the Midas Range. Groups like these are prized targets for the local Warlords who steal the supplies to fuel their own war efforts. It’s almost guaranteed that one of them will try to grab our convoy, it’s simply too valuable to let it go by un-molested. We don’t know the exact disposition of the enemy forces but given the capabilities of the average Warlord expect infantry, light vehicles, mega cavalry and VTOL aircraft. Warlords are not as well equipped as a national military but they still have access to some serious hardware, it’s not uncommon for them to have access to a mech or two.”

“The terrain here is treacherous, we’re looking at a mountain pass with two elevated plateaus. The darker the colour of the ground, the higher the elevation. The two dark patches to the left and right of the map are steep mountain sides, completely impassable even with jump equipment. The black lines represent cliffs and they block movement unless you’re performing a jump action. They also block line of sight past the very edge of the plateau so be careful when advancing up the ramps. Also be mindful of the vegetation in the area. It can hinder movement but will also provide cover. Stay alert and you should all get through this fine.”

Does Dr from treeline cover stack with tac shields?

Yes. Multiple sources stack so long as they're not the same type, i.e. multiple equipment doesn't stack, but cover and equipment stack.
