Traveller Character Generation

I'm bored, so, for the ceremonial breaking in of my copy, it's time for the gestalt intelligence of Veeky Forums to generate a Traveller 2e Character!
Rolling for gender.
1 for male, 2 for female.

Rolled 1 (1d2)

Right. Now, roll 2d6 in order for STR, DEX, END, INT, EDU, and SOC.

Rolled 5, 2 = 7 (2d6)

We have an STR of 7. Now, on to DEX.

dice+2d6

Rolled 6, 3 = 9 (2d6)

Alright, here's hoping for no death during character creation.

Alright, on to END.
One can only hope.

Rolled 1, 6 = 7 (2d6)

Next, INT.

Rolled 3, 6 = 9 (2d6)

SMART LIKE SMART BULL.

STR 7
DEX 9
END 7
INT 9

We're rolling pretty well. Let's hope we don't fuck up with EDU and SOC.
Speaking of...
On to EDU.

Rolled 2, 3 = 5 (2d6)

Let's get us some o' them ol book lernins I reckon.

Well then. On to SOC.

STR 7
DEX 9
END 7
INT 9
EDU 5

Not a bad start, but a little underschooled.

Rolled 1, 3 = 4 (2d6)

Well, it's either Neckbeard or not, and I hope it's neckbeard.

...

This character can't be a neckbeard, he's physically fit.
On to background skills.
The following 2 posters may choose one skill each from this list:
Admin, Animals, Art, Athletics, Carouse, Drive, Electronics, Flyer, Language, Mechanic, Medic, Profession, Science, Seafarer, Streetwise, Survival, Vacc Suit.

Animals, lets be 'druid' who can't into human interaction

STR 7
DEX 9
END 7
INT 9
EDU 5
SOC 4

Vacc Suit, because space.

Animals and Vacc Suit. An interesting combination. Next up: Let's give this monstrosity a name.

Earl Birmingham MacDougless the Third

Denglebert Jones

Denglebert it is. Now, does Denglebert take any pre-career education?

Of course he has

What kind? Univerity, or Military Academy?

Denglebert probably partied a lot, and went to University. And then Partied a lot.

University

Maybe he's from a family of Space Flea herders living on an Asteroid?

All right. Roll 2d6, and add Denglebert's EDU modifier of -1.

Rolled 5, 5 + 1 = 11 (2d6 + 1)

Here goes nothing.

Rolled 4, 4 + 1 = 9 (2d6 + 1)

Okay, lets see how our spaciculture studies go.

I can just imagine the look on everyone's faces when he gets 90% on the entrance test

Astoundingly, Denglebert manages to complete the entrance exams with a respectable 90%. Pick one skill at level zero, and one skill at level 1.

Forgot to post skill list.
Admin, Astrogation, Animals, Art, Advocate, Electronics, Engineer, Language, Medic, Navigation, Profession, Science.

Carouse and Flyer?

Do we have a list to choose from?

Major in Biology, minor in Electronics

Electronics (0) and Medic (1)

Sorry, Science(Biology)

Denglebert majors in Science (Biology), and minors in electronics. He also gains +1 EDU. Roll 2d6 for life events.

Shit, didn't see Medic, I vote major in that instead

Medic it is then.

Rolled 3, 6 = 9 (2d6)

Gotchya
>Character Pictured

Rolled 5, 5 = 10 (2d6)

Here's for psionics

Sadly, Denglebert's dreams of space wizardry are crushed by Mr. Alcublierre, an arrogant, boorish professor with some frankly suspect conclusions. Roll 2d6 + Medic 1 or Electronics 0 to attempt to disprove his theories.

Let's stick it to the man, man!

Rolled 6, 3 + 1 = 10 (2d6 + 1)

Rolled 3, 6 + 1 = 10 (2d6 + 1)

I guess use Medic 1, since we're more likely to disprove him.

Mr. Alcublierre proposed methods for the treatment of acute spatio-paralysis in shipboard cattle are obviously foolish and I can prove it.

The man has thoroughly had it stuck to

It completely devourers his free time, but eventually Denglebert presents his findings, completely overturning Mr. Alcublierre's bullshit "study." He becomes a much more experienced medic because of it, but Alcubilerre will not forget this insult.
Roll 2d6 to graduate.

Rolled 6, 6 = 12 (2d6)

I sure hope Denglebert isn't on the review board for my thesis.

Rolled 4, 1 = 5 (2d6)

Here goes nothing

SHAZAM

Though Denglebert had nightmares about failure
It motivated him to work harder, getting him on the honours roll

>Denglebert
I meant Alcublierre, my B

Are we all done?

Are we not doing careers? At the moment all we have is a good medic who can fiddle with electrics and lasso cows in hostile atmospheres

I don't have the rules, I'm just rolling, so I was waiting for the next roll or choose prompt.

Not only does Denglebert graduate, he does so with flying colors. The Sphere is his oyster, and it's time to pick a career.

Choose from:
Agent, Army, Citizen, Drifter, Entertainer, Marine, Merchant, Navy, Noble, Rogue, Scholar, Scout

I'd say Marines support, using his commission roll from graduating. He wants to be a medical officer

I would say either Citizen or Scholar, what do you think?

That works too, seconded.
>Keep safe out there Private

He wants to be a hero in the sky

Have to leave for 20 mins, keep Denglebert's legend alive

Love this song
I'll do my best, friend

Aye aye sir!

Seeing as this is the closest to a spacer general we have, whats our favourite spacer shanty?

Here's a favourite of mine

What does Denglebert look like?

speaking of 2e, does anyone have High Guard or even the playtest docs? It should have been out for a while now.

I think they're still all under wraps.

There was an user a day or so ago who claimed to have the CSC for 2e, but that it was watermarked with his friends name
Guess the watermarking is deterring folk from sharing

STR 7
DEX 9
END 7
INT 9
EDU 5+1=6
SOC 4
University 1 Term
Animal-0, Electronics-0, Vacc Suit-0, Science(Biology)-1

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it didn't seem worthy of it's own thread.

Anyhow I've been browsing Traveller stuff on Ebay and got wondering how classic Traveller stacks up compared to it's more modern versions? Any particular pros and cons you all can think of off hand?

Denglebert graduated with honours, so +2 to edu and medic 2, electronics 1

I've been reading through Classic and Mongoose, and the thing about Classic is that it's much less centralised, in the sense that the rules are spread between books

Alright, next response to this post choose's Denglebert's career.

Denglebert Jones
Homeworld:

STR 7

END 7
INT 9
EDU 5+2=7
SOC 4

Animal-0, Vacc Suit-0, Electronics-1, Science(Biology)-2

Navy science officer, reporting in.

We already chose marine support

It's medicine 2 not biology 2

Marine support

Whoops. Forgot we switched him to Medico.

Marine Support it is. Make a SOC roll.

You also get a +2 bonus for graduating with honors.

Rolled 6, 4 + 1 = 11 (2d6 + 1)

Is SOC 4 -1 or -2
Plus how much do we get for the honours?

So it's 10-SOCmod+2 which makes 10?

SOC is -1.
Dinglebert's research piques the attention of a colonel, and he is accepted into the Marine Corps.

Holy shit Dinglebert has some serious upward mobility.

You recive Athletics, Vacc Suit, Tactics, Heavy Weapons, Gun Combat, and Stealth at 0.
Pretty good for a lowly hydroponic farmer.
Make a END survival roll.

Do we not make our skill roll first?
And do we not get another for making the commission?

On the first term, you get all the skills in Service Skills at level 0, and don't make any skill rolls.
You may, however, make an EDU+2 advancement roll because I forgot about the comission and I'm sorry.

Is that a change from MGT1e?

Rolled 4, 2 + 2 = 8 (2d6 + 2)

Rolling Commission

Alright. Dinglebert starts his term as a Lieutenant, and gains Leadership at 1. Make an END roll.

Rolled 2, 3 = 5 (2d6)

During a boarding action on an enemy vessel, Dinglebert narrowly avoids eating a dozen flechette rounds, but manages to get back to their ship intact. Make an Events roll.

Rolled 6, 2 = 8 (2d6)

That was a close one senpai

That's it, I'm requesting Dinglebert fanart next drawthread.
Dinglebert is dispatched to an assault and occupation of an enemy planet. Pick Recon 1, Gun Combat 1, Leadership 1 or Electronics (Comms) 1. Also, make an EDU advancement roll.

Gun Combat (1)

What a badass this guy is, 10/10 would follow to war
