Having the god of Death also be the god of Justice and craftsmanship is a interesting combination. I was tempted to make a comfy god of death but... It'd have been weird

Hm. I wanted a form that allowed me to walk among the world but a lot of the themes I wanted to embody are unfortunately Major. For the good of my people I will take up permanent residence in the Godly plane as a Celestial.

This might break your idea for how the theme system should work but I like it a lot when CYOAs offer you some flexibility in what sort of things you're allowed to pick so it feels a bit less constrained. Something like forgoing two Minor themes for one Major would be neat.

I mean this more as a humorous coincidence than anything approaching a political statement but I realized that a hammer and sickle would be an appropriate symbol for Odot. Also did decide to go ahead and build Odot's wife. I envision the two of them at the head of a small and comfy pantheon who are more interested in supporting and building up humanity than bickering and hoarding their own power.

The emphasis on walls has a dual purpose. She will not only oversee the construction of great defensive projects like the Theodosian Walls but also strengthen construction on a smaller scale. I'll be Celestial
I'll be the god of Fertility so that my people can be more youthful, and they can have more children which means a more powerful nation.
I'll also pick love so that we have a nice defensive bonus for our city, and so there are less single moms.
Death is a necessity and no one picked it I don't think. I want my people to have an afterlife, everyone deserves one. Good people go to heaven, bad people go to hell.
And I'll pick the sun for my last major theme. It's a good general perk for my people it goes well with fertility and it's benefits for old age, and less sickness.
Minor themes will be
The moon so I can have control of both celestial objects in the sky. Both the sun and moon are under my domain.
And hunting will be my second that will go nice with the moon, and maybe death.

In case you care, the reason most solar gods are male is because stability and dependability were seen as male traits. Lunar gods were mostly female because women were considered to be more unstable (and emotional).

The reason Death is often male as well is because most religions see Death as a divine administrator, who govers the world of the dead, and they didn't a woman would be capable of that.

I can't see any reason to base your gender off of one pantheon of gods. I can see why fertility and love are commonly associated with a more feminine side but fuck it, I made a male god of fertility above.

You could also question why you need to be at all human, and therefore gendered, at all in the first place, especially if you're a Celestial god. Not all spirituality and worship necessitates antrhopomorphization.

You're also the first God. If I added a "companion" who was god of X and Y, would you pick X and Y? It would also force you to either be the Godking, or not allow you to be the Godking

yep. Well, I imagined a "single player mode", where the recruiter makes/finds people who pick other themes, to fill out the pantheon, and the "multi player mode", where anons form a pantheon.
I like it when people actually talk to each other, and respond to their builds.

In all seriousness, Zeus is overrated. His best feat is barely stuffing a monster who ripped out his sinews in their first battle under a mountain without fully killing it.

That was my idea, just make an organization rather than a cult or religion. If they believe in their leader, it is somewhat the same as believing in a god. Only I am pretending to be an all-powerful and well trained man, providing training (through my minor themes) to my initiates.

You want me on my side? I'm trying to keep religion out of this. The guilty must pay because of their wrongdoings, not because a god told them they were wrong. Changing civilizations and even destroying them down if their corruption is seeded too deeply.

Still having you on my side as an ally wouldn't be too wrong. However, no official affiliations can be permitted.

Would it be possible to see in a future version something that's halfway between aetherial and terrestrial? The change in points seem more dramatic a change between those two than it does aetherial and celestial, and I'm wondering if aetherials are like celestials with one foot in the terrestrial, could there be some sort of terrestrial with a foot in the celestial tier that could be squeezed in there?
