Tell me about the campaign you've always wanted to run.

Secret Wars: WoD

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Hunter Edition

Jackass: WoD

Fallout: Post Gehenna

Actually truth be told I always wanted to run a Chronicle, like VtR, in South Africa. Like JBerg or Capetown

And make it Zef as fuck.

Thing is, I don't know much about South African culture, though I feel it would be interesting as hell

theonyxpath.com/and-that-was-the-gen-con-that-was-monday-meeting-notes/

...

Wow.

Well, I think I prefer Rose Bailey to Justin Achilli. He was a fucking assrat

Deus Ex with wizards.

Can I put my dick inside this

Sure but it might not be coming out

I'm goin in

You can put your dick inside anything if you're brave enough.

I'm still wondering what, if any, announcements the Grand Masquerade will have.

You can be anything's dildo if you're brave enough

The refinements in 2e are getting weird.

Help. I've been drafted as the GM for a game of Vampire and I know nothing about World of Darkness. I have a week until the first session, I need to read the core rulebook and the Vampire setting book, right? How do I properly run this? You're my only hope.

Take speed and marathon the Underworld saga, Twilight and the Godfather

Then run that

>Take speed and marathon the Underworld saga, Twilight and the Godfather

I'd rather recommend him to watch: Kindred the Embraced. Downplayed Nosferatu clan it was pretty solid.

>show never got the second season it deserved because main actor got in a bike accident
>he died by getting his head decapitated

And interview with a vampire.
And Being Human season 1 Britain
And play Vampire Bloodlines
And read "Reap the Whirlwind" adventure for B&S which was designed as a quickstart

Grab Chronicles of Darkness and Vampire the Requiem Second Edition
Read Vampire, keep Chronicles on hand for the core rules that VtR didn't include(because they weren't written yet) like Investigation and Chases
Then watch some urban fantasy shows/movies that have Vampires in them, like Being Human(US works better in the way the vamps work, with their NEED for blood, but UK is better overall, even though the vamps are more like addicts than anything) or What We Are In The Shadows(Which is basically about a typical VtR coterie).

Who cares? It's all oWoD shit.

M:tAs using 2e rules with a group who doesn't care about a more rules lite approach to Magick.

2e as in CofD that is.

Which splat would you want as your romantic partner and why?

Werewolf
Because gay werewolves
Awoooooo

I want an Anakim that likes to be called Daddy.

All right, someone invoked it.
Who's got the Bloodlines infographic? It's time.

...

Probably either giest or mage because they are the least likely to get me tied up in weird shit

>Implying my boypussy is a barrier
I feel like they're the most likely to get you wrapped up in some weird shit.

Latest Network Zero is live where we look at Inferno and think about how to use demons in games, how to update the rules for Inferno, and demons in movies.

networkzero.podbean.com/e/network-zero-3/

No. Is Mai Waifu

As well as the Queen of Trashy Boners

youtube.com/watch?v=6Emmg5RI2Os

Anyway, yeah, I want to make a Zef as fuck VtR game in South Africa.

not listened, but have you postulated/considered demon possessed that don't burn out hosts/intentionally tone down their stuff to preserve their host?

Think of it as them announcing what CofD is never going to have.

I think if you wanted that, that is where perhaps the Possessed equivalent of Geist's Synergy may come in to play, with a better score meaning less wasting away.

Hunter
Honestly, I don't mind dying at the end of a monster-killing roadtrip with some crazy chick.

Changeling Fairest so we can have dream sex

So, I'm trying to download the books, but, there is nothing for demons there. Am I missing something?

The book you are looking for is this drivethrurpg.com/product/59019/World-of-Darkness-Inferno?affiliate_id=416321
So you are looking for Inferno.

Yes, please.

Hunter. Any hunter game, really. I just don't have any good players or stable place to play.

Any word on how the Hurt Locker is progressing?

You going to cover Forsaken 2nd at some point?

Gonna do Descent sometime too?

He may have been looking for Demon the Descent
In which case your best bet is probably 4shared, since afaik there still isn't a link for Demon in the pastebin

>firestorm chronicles anthology
>Juanita Bonita
Was her creator 5? What kind of name is that? Was Papi mentally stunted?

>beautiful strange
Best story so far. Strange, fun, sad, Promethean style lonely.

Ya got a link? I'm not the best at finding stuff

Forsaken is the next one we will cover.

Need to find you a job, and pay for it yourself.

I'm just kidding.

Eventually. I think we will try and slot that in at some point. I would prefer to have run it before then or used elements in a game.

Is this actually someone from darker days radio? I was thinking about tuning into that since this blog I tried was trash.

I've been listening to Darker Days and Network Zero, and they're both solid gaming specialist podcasts. It's worth a try.

Unfortunately I'm really looking for a solid let's play style podcast. Something like listening to AI, but for cofd.

The Sabbat was here

The Camarilla sucks ass

Ah. Well, unfortunately I don't think there's any CofD AP podcasts that are still running. The best you're gonna get is hoping someone runs CofD on Twitch or something.

oWoD > ChroD

Yup. I Chris, who hosts DDR and NZ

No praising Caine here. Move along.

How is that even possible? See OP? Are you seeing this DaveB? This is your problem right here. You need famous nerds playing your game and then spread it around the net.

Thanks.

Given what wargaming nerds we are on Network Zero we will also be doing some Iron Kingdoms and Warmahordes talk, but more about the setting and narrative and not army list wank.

We do have a one shot actual play recording using CofD. It's my story that I ran based on the local legends of my home town in the UK.

I just want to play Mage the Ascension. Explore weird dimensions, fight the Men in Black, deal with routine weird stuff, that sort of thing.

Once my gaming group is sorted (we ran the first session of Geist, but one player has had a change of work circumstances) I will try and record a game session.

Chris Allen is running a Werewolf one and has run another werewolf one before that (and an Exalted game and a Mummy game, at least one with DaveB).

Geek + Sundry have also been doing a Werewolf the Forsaken game.

The Forsaken game's 1e, right? I need to check that one out still.

2e

If you don't want to get tied up in weird shit, get a vampire. They are the most worldly of the splats.

If you don't want a partner who seems like THEY are weird shit, get a Mage or a Sin-Eater. They'll drag you into the weird shit, though.

Still no link for the Vampire's humble bundle?

Demon. We'll have a pretty normal life except for when we get broken up by time and space.

I just searched their site. But the mobile site seems to suck. Where is this wtf game?

which one?

So. Ok. Seers of the Throne obviously has the best order merit, as they should. But who has the worst?
I'm torn between Silver Ladder, Mysterium, and Free Council.
All are shit, and not worth the XP. But I can't decide which one is LEAST worth the XP.

does it matter?

Not really, but it is something to talk about.

The only one that's not that great is Free Council, and that's because Order Tools are shit.
I houserule Order Tools to be -2 to Paradox, like a Personal Tool. Makes Free Council much better.

I also came up with a one dot, repurchasable merit that makes a chosen Rote not be subject to Quiescence provided you can use your Yantra with it and don't take additional Paradox; I really liked the Magical Tradition concept from 1e

It's all separate stuff that's already available (if in better quality) in most of the torrents. There's no need to lump it all together.

Myeah. That one is shit, but it's shit always, everywhere.
Mysterium and Silver Ladder have meh merits, that are only usable in extremely narrow circumstances.

I meant the geek and sundry stuff, my bad for not specifyimg. Thanks

So, does anyone have a link to download the new demon books?

They're useful in the kind of circumstances that will likely come up if you're part of those groups. Egregore is pretty damned good.

Yeah. But you need like half a dozen Mysterium to make it useful. Unless the chronicle is an all-Mysterium one, that will never happen.

Not really. You just need to have a fairly huge Mysterium population. Mysterium also have the best magical libaries/museums.

Only for Arche, and being in the Mysterium and having Egregore is sort of... implied that other people in the Mysterium will like you enough to help you with a Teamwork roll, especially if its in the Mysterium's interests.
Anima is useful if you travel, even just to another city
Barathrum is *amazing*. Nothing like having all the knowledge of the entire Caucus in your head at all times, and getting Informed on everything the Order owns is just gravy.
Calamitas is actually what Techne should be. Having the ability to go to a total -4 on a Paradox roll is incredibly useful.
Focus is also nothing to sneeze at, when you've got a hotline to every other Mystagogue.

Lex Magica is also pretty damned useful as well. Not as good, but still useful. Would probably be better if it was half your Consilium and Order Status.

Masque and Adamantine Hand you aren't even considering as bad, of course. Techne is the worst, but that's because Order Tools are unimpressive.

Not him but I found Masque to be horribly pointless and Adamantine Hand to be horribly boring. Masque didn't do anything a simple spell couldn't do and adamantine hand was awful except for the third and final ability the ability which was limited to archmasters.

>Not him but I found Masque to be horribly pointless and Adamantine Hand to be horribly boring. Masque didn't do anything a simple spell couldn't do and adamantine hand was awful except for the third and final ability the ability which was limited to archmasters.

Eh. What?

JTTF inside the federal government is formed to deal with what they're told is a domestic cell of an international terror group funding themselves with art fraud, museum thefts, and black market selling of antiques; you get a weird combination of black ops badasses, FBI agents, art historians, and anthropologists working to try and hunt these guys down. The big reveal is their JTTF is unsanctioned and actually an arm of an Arisen's cult, and that he'll burn all of them if they don't keep stealing artifacts from other cults for him.

It's Night's Black Agents meets Mummy: the Curse.

Masque was thematically interesting but completely pointless. It was a single +1 die adder. It had some tangential effects like being able to make a resources 3 purchase if I remember. But why would you bother when a few mind spells can replicate the same effects without needing to have a drawback associated to it?

Adamantine Hand had two skills you'd actually want to use and it was the ability to fight and preform a spell at the same time and be able to negate the abyss. The ability to negate the abyss was only eligible if you had six dots in an arcana. Outside of that there was nothing remotely interesting about Adamant Hand it was boring and the other three powers were only marginally useful. It didn't even come with the kind of flavor Masque had going for it.

It has been a while since I read either so I could be remembering it wrong.

I got a chance to run the campaign I always wanted. Then it fell apart super quick. It was an FBI game where all the players were invited to a special Xfiles style task force because they had admitted to or were known to have seen something impossible.

I have no dreams left... All my wod dreams are dead.

Masque is the most fun Merit in the entire CofD.

>It has been a while since I read either so I could be remembering it wrong.

Bruh we're talking about 2e Mage. Adamant Hand isn't even a stepped merit anymore.

Oh. Whoops. Still haven't read the 2e mage book.

But Masque is amazing.
I have no idea what you're talking about with Adamantine Hand.

What?
Masque let's you spend 1 WP (that you keep spent) to take on a different magically distinct persona;
● A different Vice and Virtue from your own
●● Free Skill Specialties equal to Masque
●●● A Signature Nimbus unique to the Masque
●●●● Two acts of Hubris no longer count
●●●●● Five free Merits for the Masque
And by paying ●● you get another Masque at the same rating as the first.

Adamantine Hand lets you choose Athletics, Brawl, or Weaponry and treat actions taken with the chosen Skill as a reflexive Order Tool on spells cast next turn, which isn't great, since Order Tools are lame, but it's still really useful.

Oh.
Also, Masque in 1e was still great, and so was Adamantine Hand, save for how expensive Fighting Styles could be, and how it was only for one Arcana each.

Which Path is best for a Guardian is Obsessed with reincarnation?

I disagree with both on 1e. I read 2e versions and they are definitely better.

Any.

Adamantine Hand would be much more useful and impressive if a version could be purchased with the Firearms skill.

Adamantine Hand did a lot more in 1e, but it also cost way more expensive in terms of XP.
I really loved Masque in 1e, but I like the 2e version a lot better because it's more customizable. I was actually wondering how they'd port it over, since the original used the whole 7 Deadly Sins thing.

Not really. I mean, first off, what would you do with it? If you shoot someone, they're probably far enough away that you could take your time casting a spell. Or already dead.
You spend a turn punching someone, then next turn you can use that punch as a +1 Yantra. That's useful, since normally you only get 1 Reflexive Yantra. (That's boring, because a flat +1 is boring)
