Any ideas what sort of creatures should curbstomp most races to the point of near extinction? I don't want the undead because they are overdone. Despite what pic suggests it's a fantasy setting there just aren't many pictures depicting post apocalyptic fantasy.

In realistic way? Human.

Ortherwise Nuclear powered Dragon.

Undead, God(s), or wizard(s)

All the others have that pesky sentience that gets in the way of getting them all organized enough to extinction everything.

Warforged or robot people. Not eventi necessarily on purpose, just reproduced until resources went scarce because they ate made at maturity aND don't know better.

>muh human destruction

humans would be the first ones to go if we had more than one non retarded species on this planet they are squishy, petty and it's very easy to divide and conquer them

>implying all races wouldn't have divide and conquer problems

A vast army of the undead and warped mutants led by dark sorcerers and demon lords, sponsored by an eldritch abomination who gives his most devoted minions superpowers and whose very presence causes non-allied magic/tech to fail.

The sorcerers use advanced techno-magic to set up necromantic factories which warp captured prisoners into mutants/undead soldiers, while the higher ranked demon lords abduct creatures from alternate universes to twist into monstrous supersoldiers.

We had a thread a while back where the main god of a pantheon was dying and the other gods were going all to shit.

The world was falling apart as they embodied aspects of creation.

Only Trickster was trying to do anything about it but he was fighting the tide.

Look up Degenesis Rebirth.

You get a whole bunch of factions, plus sleepers, AMSUMOs, and of course mutations like the hivemind Psychovore.

Cats.

Some kind of mutant trolls. It would make since that they mutant due to there regeneration blood that could help them evolve faster.

Or DRAGONS! i cant believe that wasn't your first idea.

>le fus ro dah xDDD
>DOVAHKIIN DOVAHKIIN DU DU DU DU
>use Marked for Death and one shot dragon :D ebin beast

An intelligent infection like Everblight in WM. Although Everblight is more like a tumor.
Alternatively, Reis, Reis everywhere.

Giant-type monsters/mutants could if given enough numbers and in the right setting.

Maybe try the Red Tide. It's a setting by Kevin Crawford, the Stars Without Number and Godbound guy. It's kind of a mess overall as he wanted to do old-school gonzo kitchen sink, but it kind of comes across as clashing thematically.
The titular red tide, though, is awesome. It's a world-ending threat that boils up into a mist that spreads across the face of the earth. People who are enveloped die gruesomely, and out of it come demons that drag people off to transform them into horrible things.
The red tide spreads unstoppably, and eventually everyone who's left gather on this one island where the tide seems not to reach for some reason.

These things, or Kryll from Gears of War

Nice Humanity you got there friendo. Itd be a shame if something happened to it.

Reminder that instead of just sending Ornstein and his merry bunch to slap the Darkwraiths they had to seal and flood the entire city, and they're still perfectly fine after the gorillion years imprisoned.

A plague.
A war.
A magic induced nuclear winter.
Volcano and earthquakes.

Kind of depends on the way you want civilization to die out.

Oozes reproducing out of control that also turn you into an ooze of they wound or kill you without dissolving you

A race of trolls that have had their weakness to fire, acid, or sunlight bred out of them magically.

Essentially, a race of eternally regenerating, violent humanoids with varying levels of size, strength, and intelligence.

Not saying they're unstoppable, but on a long enough timeline, they'd dominate.

Gnoll tribes unite under Baba Gnolla and start a gnolden age of pillage and expansion.
The Gnoll'd Horde pushes other, smaller hordes out of their lands, which go on to push more hordes out of their land and so forth.

Basically sounds like Dark Souls.

No, no, Darkwraiths aren't why New Londo was flooded. They're followers of Darkstalker Kaathe, who is really the one behind the fall of New Londo. He taught the Four Kings the power of Lifedrain (also used by Darkwraiths) and corrupted them with the Abyss. Seeing them as a threat to the Age of Gods (the goal of Kaathe, the Darkwraiths and Manus/the Abyss is to extinguish the Flame and become lords of the Age of Dark), Gwyn ordered the city destroyed as he knew his knights stood no chance. Remember, Artorias was lost to the Abyss as well, and dealing with it was his specialty.
