I did. Like 2 threads ago. We are begind in the number count by like 7 editions.

More than that, but hey no one's perfect.

What would the general reaction be to a sanshyuum getting out of his hoverchair and kicking ass in hand to hand?

Morning, /jc/.

So recently I looked up the list of classes in Disgaea. I promptly began to cry. No one will mind if I base perks around species and background while leaving classes up to you, right?

I hope the jump doesn't somehow kill me before I finish.

Also, what do about the series power level? I mostly planmed to leave your strength up to level grinding like in canon, with perks giving you boosts to growth in certain areas. So you could reach a good level in jump and onwards by grinding XP. Thoughts?

Yea they will. You have to either give the classes or give perks based on them otherwise it isn't true to the setting.

Jumpers, what are your fondest "first time doing X" memories?

We will mind so hard we will pop a blood vessel in your eye with our minds

1.) PREDATOR
>LOCATIONORIGINSITEMS & EQUIPMENT

Just do what FF14 did, make perks based around the main classes. Anyone who expects you to do perks for every single class ever made in Disgaea is asking for a bit much, even Muyo when he was doing it wasn't going to do that.

I'd prefer if you listed the classes at least. And as for the power level and gaining strength, making it the same as canon is good.

To be fair, if you base it off Passives, specials gained every so levels at least for monsters, etc, then it should be easier

Question for Gaunlet, if he's here or reads this at some point... does Secret Power Slumbering from the Mortals Gauntlet also apply to other motepools?

Disgaea is a Jump that people are going to expect a lot out of. Still, I think you should be fine so long as you allow everyone to choose a class for free (unless they pick a monster race) and include a short section giving a basic run down of each class. Like a two or three sentence description just so people don't have to go digging to find out what each one does.

If you do that, I don't think people will mind basing the perks on species and background. I /would/ add in an undiscounted perk that allows a Jumper to buy a second class though.

As for the series power level, it sounds like that's a good plan. Letting people grind their way to power makes a ton of sense for the setting. You can beat the story at a relatively low level anyways, so there's no reason for people to expect they'll be level 9999 by the end of ten years. Maybe level 1000 if you ate item dungeons like candy, but that's the high end of what I'd expect to gain.

Want to know how I know you've been talking to Red in the IRC?

First time having a reality warper duel. Happened in Marvel. Against Jaspers. It quickly degraded into a talent show and ended with a rock off.

After that, we shacked hands and parted ways.

>classes

I think I'd like to know at least the broad strokes about what the classes are capable of. Doesn't have to be terribly detailed, but a brief summary of their capabilities would be nice. There can't be that many, surely?

>what about series power level

I think that sounds fine but I'm not very familiar with Disgaea

The first time I stopped a mugging by shooting hardlight pixels at someone! I was really proud of myself because the thieves got smart and got undercover, so I ricochetted my projectiles off the ceiling and from the wall behind them. It was really convenient because everyone thought I was a hero while I was really just trying to snag the ray sphere shard those ex-DUP goons had stowed in their getaway vehicle.

First time I gave someone else magic-and first time I seriously botched magic too. I condensed a little magicka into an amulet for Elodie to wear and suggested she try to do some spells with it while also using her natural Lumen abilities. And...accidentally created a roving snowstorm that brought snowmen to life for a mile before dissipating. At the time we were both freaking out trying to stop them from thumpity-thump-thumping their way into a traffic accident and we ended up having to send them away to the North Pole to live but afterwards we had a good laugh about the whole thing.

The first time I built a gadget with super-science alone. I won first place in the Latveria county science fair! Of course afterwards Doom had me questioned to ask exactly how my miniature weather remote's mass-energy conversion worked (there was pokeball tech in there) and he figured out quickly I was from another world, but he was a good sport about it and invited me to some more science cons. Blaise and Gar were going to skip it, until I told them there would be real lasers lying around.

Oh, and the first time I ever suplexed a vampire king. The Red King did NOT see that portal-zandatsu coming.

I disagree with not being able to make it to the level cap within 10 years, given that a crap ton of people can achieve it in far less time. Probably avoid any specific mention of time, but just say that hitting the cap is kind of a pain in the ass.

Why not do it like Overlord did the class skills?

How long does grinding take anyways? Are you going to implement Reincarnation?

I'm going to say do it like Narnia or Legends of Chima. Give a list of classes and/or racial options, give each of them some flavor text and a single perk, and you're done.
There should be something to differentiate the options, but you don't have to go indepth.

You don't need to make perks for the upgraded forms of classes, because a Rogue is exactly the same as a Space Pirate except that one has higher stats. Just make perks for each tree. In fact, since you're probably buying into those classes, maybe just have you start out as the highest tier of anything you buy...?

After that, just make a bunch of perks for backgrounds or factions, like Angels, EDF, Demons, and the requisite Drop In.
Bam, done.

pls no bully
List and features it is, then. Easiest on me and still provides options.

I'm not giving that a hard answer this early. I will probably include reincarnation unless someone points out an obvious exploit that's too big to ignore. I doubt it'll be an issue, though.

A lot of my most memorable firsts were in Pokemon. First time I realized this wasn't just some fever dream or coma fantasy. First victory in battle. First time surfing. All my favorite firsts were surprisingly small things, all things considered.

I certainly respect your right to disagree with me.

That should be fine. Just base the perks around races/archetypes and then handle the classes separately. You should dedicate a small section to detailing what each class does but the classes themselves are all fairly straightforward and don't really require perks. They do require a bit of explanation, however.

The power level isn't really a problem. It's an integral part of the setting itself and capping it would cut away at the fundamental basis of Disgaea and probably piss a lot of people off. Sure you could become ludicrously powerful if you're willing to pour a nigh infinite amount of blood, sweat, and tears into grinding in the Land of Carnage or something but that's just one of the facets of Disgaea as a series. It's reaching level one million so you can clear the tippity top levels of the Item World and create that Super Ultimate Spork that can shear through Excalibur like it's made of tissue paper.

Jurassic Park. My first time eating raw red meat and not getting sick.

It was D E L I C I O U S.

Yes, or at least that's what he told me.

What's the best order to go through Gundam jumps in, assuming someone doesn't really know the series but wants to do them togther?

Gundam Build Fighters is a lighthearted show built as a tribute to all the other gundams.
It also comes with a perk that gives you knowledge on the entirety of gundam lore.

Tower: By the Gods, at least we're away from that place.
Black Cat: I think we broke it.
Jump-Chan: Now now, you all did a very good job. Wildly entertaining. I'm quite pleased how you managed to stand everything on end yet still stay within the boundaries of the challenge.
Gemini: But it was all an accident.
Jump-Chan: That makes it no less entertaining.
Taboo: I hope we are going somewhere a little more interesting this time.
Tower: I hope wherever we end up I can punch someone in the face.
Jump-Chan: Well... that depends. On an unrelated note, how well do you like wearing dresses?
Tower: [Redacted]
Gemini: Better let me take the lead. Besides, you don't have the hips for skirts.

The Four entered this world considerably smoother than the last, having already gained considerable experience with the modern world. Gemini, Tower, and Taboo entered the stage as emerging models with a rather famous modeling company. Blue Steel Modeling was already the host to a number of large names who did not look fondly on new competition, especially considering their non-standard body types.
Gemini could fake whatever kind of body it wanted, but choose to keep its natural height, making it considerably shorter than was normal for a model. Tower, muscular as she was, looked more like a bodybuilder than a model. As for Taboo, well, she frightened pretty much anyone with a sense of self preservation and her body, while attractive, was of the wrong proportions for standard modeling.
Still, after a few false starts, each of the three found a niche market that lapped them up like find wine. Taboo's taste in leather and flair for the arcane soon found her posing for cosplay costume specialists, though she was forbidden from hanging her scrolls in the background after one camera exploded and three assistants had seizures from looking at them. Tower began posing for sporting equipment of all kinds, hardly the most flattering look but on her they screamed the promise of power to those who wore it. Gemini did the most general modeling, specializing in swimsuits after she discovered she quite enjoyed surfing.
Black Cat was the least visible of the four and that was quite all right with him. It allowed him to work with jewelry in the privacy of the penthouse in his natural form instead of the Human one. He was the least happy about having to adopt an entirely different form to fit in here. It had chaffed him during the last ten years, but this time around it had become an itch that threatened to drive him mad. He still showed up to every photo shoot or gala event, but was happiest at home.

Wow, I fucked up the editing on that last post. Sorry guys.

For nearly six years the fever pitch of the modeling circuit was their life. Unfortunately, it could only go on so long before Taboo snapped entirely. She began cursing the other models. Those that annoyed her or talked snide to her at events were the first to suffer rapid aging or similar other horrors. Her modeling opportunities soon dried up as everyone refused to work with her, anyone who did inevitably falling ill or suffering unfortunate accidents. The others managed to stop Taboo before she outright killed anyone, setting Black Cat to watch over her and letting her slip from the limelight. The quiet and ample time to pursue her own arcane passion did much to improve her mood.

What failed to improve was their reputation among the modeling community. Tower and Gemini, by association, were slowly ostracized more and more by the other models as the rumors spread. They both continued to pull in work, but interpersonal relations were strained at the best of times.

The last four years slowly dragged to a close with each of the Four grumbling at the strangeness of the adventure thus far. They could only hope something more to their tastes was on the horizon.

Was there a perk/power somewhere that made you invisible to everything but natural senses?

The first major, few-holds-barred magic duel I had in Harry Potter was such a rush even if it was basically beating up on little kids. Mainly for the reason that I had been prepping pretty much since I stepped foot in Hogwarts.

Second would have to be the first time I went dinosaur alt-form.

Maybe the Nye Cloak from Traveler's Gate?

On the other hand, you could do it last as a cool down, and IIRC there was a "everything you did in the other jumps is canon" option, where you can then shitpost about yourself.

They'd flip their shit, man.
Prophets can barely move most of the time.
It'd be the equivalent of seeing a scrawny 110 year old get up out of his wheelchair and start knocking people out like he's Mike Tyson.

>They'd flip their shit, man.
In a good way or bad?

Hey, if I take the "Android" companion option in the Big-O jump, would it be too much of a stretch for me to take R.D. in specific along?

Covenant would have some very pointed questions for you, because you just did the impossible.

Humans would simply panic. At worst they expect Prophets to have weaponized hoverchairs.
To my knowledge, the most badass thing a Prophet has ever done in combat is when Truth killed Miranda Keyes by shooting her in the back with a Spiker. Most humans aren't even strong enough to use them.

Now all I can imagine is a prophet saying

"Prophets give me strength!"

Then standing up and hulk busting some heads with some weird mixture of kung fu as every human panics and all the covies see him as even more holy.

Nah, it would be better if it was some random schlub who says it as a SPARTAN is breaking in.
Only to watch the Prophet of Jumping hop up and start beating a motherfucker with another motherfucker.

Symbiote to replace?

I will save it for the next open slot. I'm choosing the odd slots while the board chooses the evens.

What are the best first Jumps to take if your biggest problem is feeling like you're not a part of anything, or like you have no roots to grow from?

Nin-to-five

Sadness had no place in that movie. She only made things worse.

I want to know how the fuck people make logical decisions since film this implies everyone in that universe are bipolar manic-depressives.

Girls und Panzer.
You know, as long as you don't roll the German school.
Or Pravda.
Oorai is debatable.
Really, you're looking at Saunder's or Anzio.

I don't think you see anyone else going through those mood swings. Presumably the emotions followed by the movie are just bad at their job.

Maybe that kid is actually bipolar, and nobody's treating her.
How shitty would that be.

That would fit with how her Emotions are all over the place in terms of appearance when her parents' have much more uniform designs. Maybe that's just because they're adults and have fully settled into their personalities, but her brain seems to be a lot more varied.

Lessee, memorable firsts...
> First ever skydive (no parachute though, Tet's a dick like that)
> First kill (my first match in the Moon Cell was against Alice, it ripped my heart out)
> First world-wide journey (That was in the Neo-Heisei Jump, it also awoke my wanderlust)
> First legit kung-fu battle (Good times, taking on Yu Jiaolong...and then everyone else, good times)
> First female jump (...Sword Art Online was an interesting experience, and I very quickly got over my aversion to nut shots)
> First legit samurai sword duel (Thank the almighty it wasn't against Mitsurugi, I saw what he did to Setsuko before I stepped in, but I am so fucking glad I got some experience before that bullshit...the fucker BULLET TIMES! HOW THE FLYING FUCK DOES ONE SIMPLY "TRAIN" FOR THAT?!)
> First assisted suicide (My time in Skullgirls was a real eye opener for a lot of things, especially when I had to kill Filia...just when we could have...never mind, let's continue, let's just say that sometimes you don't want your plan to work)
> First enslavement (Sure I quickly let Louise know where I stood, but nothing will change the fact that I was her slave for a good while)
> First magic duel (I gotta wonder, how did the Slytherins feel when I became their top duelist and just never gave up the spot? ...oh wait! I knew how they felt, the salt was delicious)
> First Demon slaying (Cuhrazy tiems were had by all, especially by and constant trolling of the Order of the Sword)
> First Time Stop shenanigans (DMC didn't count because it so low key, nope. What does though are the freaking Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages, that lot have no respect for Space-Time or causality let me tell you)

I have others definitely, but those are literally the First Few of them all.

As so we thank the Emperor who, in his great mercy, has delivered us through the twisted Chaos of the Warp.

>Thank the almighty it wasn't against Mitsurugi, I saw what he did to Setsuko before I stepped in
...fucked up.

Setsuka not Setsuko.

Yes, it's meant as a general chi/kai/essence enhancement.

As always it is temporary.

Gimme a cool random jump Veeky Forums RNG.

Cool. Would Charms giving you a bigger motepool count?

Unrelatedly, looks like Infernals' Merchant tree is getting folded into Noble, unless I get some great ideas for both.

Anyway, we had a bartender user, right?

Demonic Bartender [200, probably Hegra]
Demons love their liquor. As water is extremely rare and milk nearly unknown in the demon realm, instead Hell offers a thousand infernal wines, whiskeys, brandies, vodkas and other drinks. Many of them contain other drugs, both natural and supernatural. Some are flat-out toxic to mortals. Still, those Exalts who cultivates an immunity to poison and cast-iron gullet can explore a world of strange intoxicants that range from gut-ripping vileness to soul-shuddering delight.
You’ve gained an understanding on how to create all these brews yourself. How to ferment bone-wine, thanachvil, and gurshant. How to distill liquid emotions and waking dreams derived from Hegra's rains into elixirs. How to bottle the perfect pleasure that is sypax, or the liquid Lethe of final rest elixir... and finally, even the most precious drink in all of Malfeas, chalcanth. chalcanth is the liquefied, distilled essence of a demon. The unfortunate demon is dissolved in pure vitriol while still alive, so that drinking chalcanth is like tasting pure Being to a demon, and grants both Essence and memories to any who drink it. Of course if you'd prefer, it could also be used in forging infernal relics, by far the most common artifacts in Hell.

What if we blow up the internet? Then there won't be anything to come back to.

Mega Man X? Never heard of it.

I am the person you speak of and I love it.

But you would have to blow up every computer. The internet was originally designed to survive nuclear attacks.

Does it apply to Overdrive pools as well?

Aw hell yeah, chalcanth. I love that stuff. So long as it's made ethically, of course, I only distill my chalcanth from non-sapient breeds of demon. Limits the range of flavors you can have, but makes it acceptable to a much larger customer base. Too bad there aren't any non-sapient demons powerful enough for me to make azoth-grade chalcanth from, though.

Or we can do what one user raged previously - and actually focus and force the issue of making this place better.

And part of that involves not even acknowledging the shitposter's existence when they're gone, because that's just gonna bring them right back. Pretend they never existed.

I'm not even Bartender user, and I want that perk! So far all of the Hegra perks are looking like must buys, and I'm confused because as an evil overlord I thought it would be the Malfeas perks that interested me.
Basically, it's set in the future of the Megaman world, which is inhabited by humans and robots with free will, called Reploids. However, something called the Maverick Virus, combined with the arrogance and cruelty of humanity, has caused many Reploids to rebel. You're basically the counter rebellion forces.

Right. So graduate schooling and getting set up in my new apartment is taking some time, and as a result Black Crusade is getting a slight bit delayed. So for the sake of actually getting something out there, I want to ask folks if they'd want to see an update to Stargate SG-1. Possible changes would include:

-Backgrounds made free
-Possible additional races like Asgard, or if anyone else has something they'd want me to throw in
-Another background: Immigrant, for the token alien of the team
-1/3/6 perks changed to 1/2/4/6
-Additional undiscounted perks
-More items
-Possibly a ship section
-Increased drawback cap
-If, IF people wanted it, change it from an SG-1 jump to a Stargate jump itself, in order to abuse Atlantis' setting for everything it's worth. It could still be its own jump, but if people wanted me to I could just make the Stargate jump that much bigger and do stuff like item budgets or whatever to let poeple rob the place dry.

I'm only toying with this because there's been complaints about the Stargate jump, and admittedly it could be brought up to snuff along with some bonuses. Plus this way something would happen, instead of waiting who knows how long for Black Crusade, which so far I'm still working on Part 1, it's just taking time with the rough change in my immediate surroundings.

Up to you guys.

Wait, Stargate was you?

...yes? And I'm offering to revamp the hell out of it like I did with Macross and Resident Evil, if you want an idea of what would happen to it.

>Shitposter begins pitching a bitch-fit over Stargate
>suddenly discussing a Stargate update

I feel like this keeps sending the message "be a little twat and you'll receive rewards," and while I personally would love to see Stargate get some more love - I'm not sure that's the right message to be sending.

Sounds fun.

>Ethically
user, demons are dicks. It's always ethical to melt them into chalcanth.

Unless it's a bottle bug. Those are innocent.

To be honest, I'm fine with Stargate as is, but that all sounds great. So if it's convenient for you, sure, that would be awesome.

Like Overdrive Charms? No I don't think it should as it enhances the 'Source' pools directly.

See above

Also, where to /JC?

All of my yes.

League of Legends

>hating on demons
>not letting them make you conquerors

>bottle bug.
What is that?

Cool.

It's pretty great stuff. But yeah, only non-sapient stuff on that level would be behemoths and so.

I'll take that as a compliment. Malfeas himself will probably get an evil overlord perk, but currently wondering how to make it fit with the Dance perk he has.

Sounds cool to me. Though I'm pretty excited for Black Crusade too.

Meant more stuff like Rising Tide Ascension. That charm just gives you an extra Peripheral pool of 10motes, which recharges in the presence of a sea.

Sesseljae. Second-best 1st circle demon.

Ah yeah that'd be enchanced as it is a part of the 'Source' pools.

The single worst thing to come from Garrosh going to an alternate timeline and crossing the timestreams.

Fucking Gul'dan.

Oh they can help me conquer. As my slaves.

Specifically, it's a type of demon that only wants to consume corruption and trash. They have a childish, friendly personality and like to beg people to give them alcohol. Which they then guzzle and act like confused, drunken children.

The only weird thing about them is that they can harmlessly swim through flesh.

Not all of them. True, there are lots of demon breeds that are dicks, but not every one of them deserves to be rendered into living wine and consumed.

Sesseljae, the Stomach-Bottle Bugs. They're parasites, but friendly ones. They just want to make a little house in your intestines, and in return they'll heal you off injury and disease. Very pleasant company, too, if you can get over your squeemishness you should definitely acquire one.

>Second-best
What's the first?

>Garrosh going to an alternate timeline and crossing the timestreams.

Fucking what?

youtube.com/watch?v=TLzhlsEFcVQ

>-Possible additional races like Asgard

Pls no.

You have invoked the lore ride user, be prepared for WoW's fuckery of its lore to begin

>Not all of them. True, there are lots of demon breeds that are dicks, but not every one of them deserves to be rendered into living wine and consumed.
You are correct, sir and or madam.

I personally would love to see an update to the Stargate jump and personally I think that the jump does just fine as a SG-1 jump and that Atlantis has enough stuff it could be made into its own (with some workarounds due to the timeline).

If you want to add more races you could always add a Replicator Race Option.

Awesome, thanks.

This, yeah.

Personally, I really like the Gilmyne, Dancers at the Saigoth Gates.

For being dancing columns of silver fire.

Have one more.

Terrible and Wonderful [400, probably Adorjan? Or general]
The Silent Wind abhors noise, so demons fill the streets of Hell with constant shouting, the clangor of gongs and bells, and the music of her progeny. But not all music in Hell is meant to keep the Silent Wind at bay. The Yozis themselves greatly love music. It is perhaps the only aspect of their being that remains untouched by the rage and spite they feel at their imprisonment.
The songs of the Demon Princes may consume those who listen to it in their wondrous perfection. The demons descended from them have inherited their passion, though not all their impossible skill. Those melodies created by the Unquestionable merely drive the listeners mad or transform their identity, and while those of the Second Circle rarely archieve even these heights of skill, even they may make stones dance for joy or mortals swoon for grief.
Amongst the First Circle, there are entire breeds and species of demons created solely for the purpose of music, and all demons love to hear music being played. Everything from percussives, horns, flutes, bagpipes, and rarely even the softer tones of string intruments is heard in the vast and endless melodies of Malfeas.
Most visitors from Creation have some difficulty adjusting to this ceaseless cacophony, but you are somewhat of an exception. Unconcerned with the many different voices in them, you can appreciate the grandure of the Demon City's musicians in full. And furthermore, you have gained perfection in the arts, able to play every instrument of Malfeas and Creation as a true master, your melodies and voice beautiful enough to rival even the greatest of the Second Circle... which will only improve with practice, never degrade. In time, you may sing as the Yozi do.

Right, where to start.

post-Siege of Orgrimmar, Garrosh is in chains and waiting for a trial in which he will be made to answer for his crimes of fucking up almost the entire world after eating the heart of an Old God.

Wrathion and a rogue Bronze Dragon abduct Garrosh from his prison cell and steal him away to an alternate timeline - to an alternate Draenor, years before Gul'dan can sell the orcs to the Burning Legion. Garrosh uses the slowly-gathering Horde at that time to inform the various Chiefs of Gul'dan's treachery and thus Grommash denies Gul'dan's offer, killing Mannoroth and beginning the conquest of Draenor under his new Horde: The Iron Horde.

However, construction on the Dark Portal still occurs, and Gul'dan and his Shadow Council are used as giant demonic fel batteries to open it. Where does the Dark Portal open? Prime Timeline-Azeroth, because Garrosh is a salty bitch and brings his Iron Horde from an alternate timeline to try and smackdown the people who whooped his bitch ass.

Who's alive and thus crossing over into the Prime Timeline? Grom Hellscream, Kilrogg Deadeye, Blackhand, Kargath Bladefist, Ner'zhul, every one of the most evil and cruel orcs to ever exist. But the one who's alive again to aid the Burning Legion and fuck over Azeroth?

Gul'dan.

And why are all of these fucks alive?

Because Garrosh had to go time-traveling.

Could we get those horny demonic lizard people pls?

Any chance of a 800 cp ascended option?

...yeah, I can see how it can be interpreted as that. Hell, I'd be lying if I said a small part of this wasn't me just wanting that to die down, it's why I've pretty much stopped posting builds and discussions. But at the same time, it really could use the touch-up and it might help me get some motivation back in these academic times, which would help out. However, it's up to thread.

... ...I'd have to think on that.

What, the Unas?

>mfw
