/bbg/ Blood Bowl General - MauledbytheTigers Sleeps Tonight

Secret League Playoffs have started.

Mauled is back from his annual visit to his ladyboys in Thailand but immediately fell into a coma upon his return.

Season V hype!

First for scattering into a touchback.

Second for scattering into badly hurting your own blitzer with the spiked ball you played.

Best mini's for slave girl cheerleaders?

Does anyone actually sell nude slave girl mini's in stores these days?

I'm actually looking for nude, but wearing a cowl/hood.

Literally Zara the Slayer. Just sand that club to a stake and perfect.

This studio actually has a lot of good minis. Even some fallout ones.

Don't go into the light, thread!

Dice calculators. Second one specifically for bloodbowl. First one has scripting.

Don't be silly.

Very good proportions and quality, but lacks bondage. All the exposed poses are just standing there like prostitutes.

There better be some top tier rigging going on if this is allowed.

Chopa hasn't replied to my pm so don't look at me

...

Cows vs Hungry Squigs will probably happen at 20:00 tomorrow or on thursday.

Found my old bloodbowl stuff in a box in the garage. have a full orc, goblin, and high elf roster from years ago

are they still good teams?

>still

There hasn't been a rules change since like 1994.

>bbg is doomed to be a page 11 general for 364 days out of the year
>no one is interested in the setting, or the characters, or the mechanics
>just post scheduled events for 3 or 4 people to watch
>return to dust

I dig the setting, but there really isn't a way to run Blood Bowl RPG

>no way to run a BB rpg
You're not even trying.

If you mean mechanically, a 3hp party that rolls to hit, to armor break, and successes subtract an hp. Dodges and tackle zones can be transposed to attacks of opportunity.

If you mean thematically, it'd be magic is technology shadowrun with 'the next big game' being the plot point. Have to round up half a dozen sacrifices to get a star player to play. Have to be the bodyguard for the sponsor/mob's chosen team. There's 2 billion gold coins on the line of tomorrow's game and you need to rig the field, start a riot, invoke the weather, etc. The dragon of the east is in town and has agreed to spare our village if his whelpling gets to meet Morg n Thorg.

I think the setting is actually criminally under illustrated for how vibrant it is next to things like future grim dark, and Bright and Shiny Good v Evil.

Sounds like someone should run a BB themed game for people. Question is what system.

A system that mirrors the blood bowl mechanics as much as possible. And keeps in mind that almost everything is tongue-in-cheek. People can/will/do lie/cheat/steal/enslave all for the purpose of blood bowl success. I see families selling their kids into slavery so they can get season tickets to the Reikland Raiders games.

Players should be statted with mv, st, ag, and av. And acquire traits from successful jobs. Charisma is literally your billfold or what you can promise for someone else's billfold.

Using only d6's and d8's to resolve checks.

>charisma
Allegorical to fame/fan factor. Cheerleaders being your 'network' that increase the odds of your success. Or you can pay a premium from your treasury to improve the odds. A bribe.

All the parts are there, they just need to be explained the right way.

Something tells me Dirty Player would be very important in BBRPG with all this conniving.

Perhaps it's a default common among all bbrpg players and thus the background for players is that they're all permanently banned from re-entering the field.

Or all ex-blood bowl positionals that have to roll for an injury upon creation that forced them to retire.

Rolled 1 (1d6)

Crab rolls to rig outcome. Add 1 for tournament organizer.

Crab won't be playing in any more BBRPG

Honestly this is going to depend more on what you want the PCs to be doing. Are they team managers? Are they players?

Either way the game seems a good fit for narrative-style games that work best in "episodic" formats; FATE comes to mind. Maybe even a highly reworked MAID.

It could also be run something like a Battletech campaign, where each episode's climax is an actual game of Blood Bowl but the players spend time with another ruleset doing everything they can to rig the game.

>battletech campaign
If you can get a group of 7 people, and someone agrees to be the commissioner for a league, you could have an RP week, and a game week alternating. RP week is spent where the people play an operative associated with their team and they can work together/against eachother as members of the same league.

Basically choose inducements/weather/injuries between the ready to play phase and game start on RP night through RP means instead of a dice roll.

Or members of a goblin team that knows they can't ball for shit, so they have to do all kinds of RP stuff before the game to make it possible for them to beat a team of star players in a show match at the end of the week.

Into the end zone!

Never GFI into the end zone, dammit.

Is there actually a standard notation for BB squares?

-6, 0, 6 for in and out
a-z for end zone to end zone?

I saw an article on bbtactics involving some push puzzle and happened to notice how he was labeling each square.

Rolled 1 (1d6)

Going to make a casino feel clean pitch. Then make wooden/plastic chips with jersey numbers stenciled on them and the stands will have slots for holding player cards. All teams represented in decks.

I've seen a lot of really cool field conversions, but they all look really unwieldy to play on so I wanted something really low clearance that could be made for cheap. And wasn't a roll up table cloth. The first one will just be squared with painted tiles on the field and green felt surrounding it. Then I'll know just how much it'll cost to make with locally available materials.

If my normie friends see it sitting in the side of the room, they can say it's a cool looking football board, then mention fantasy football. And then explain it's not the mainstream fantasy football.

Then they're stuck and have to discuss the intricacies of drow vaginas vs tau throat circumference. Then they grow beards and guts and the curse spreads.

is there a new BB edition coming out? I thought I saw something about a new box from GW or FW

Yes. It'll include Orcs and Humans. All we know of the rules as that they'll be adding optional expansion scenarios and star players but otherwise leave everything the way it's been for the last 20ish years. They may adjust some player costs.

Yes.

sweet! thanks for the info

always wanted to get into BB but it seemed too complicated with rules scattered everywhere

Check the OP. CRP, aka LRB6 is all you need. You need to know less than it looks.

If you don't want to read any of that still, you can play blood bowl on steam and it'll handle all that for you.

Wake up Mauled!

Don't forget the Slaan / chaos Pact / Underworld Scrambler PDF!

bloodbowl.krokodille.com/files/Chaos_Pact_Slann_and_Underworld_teams.pdf

>people actually endorse the animosity teams
Slaan is ok, but cp and underworld are mary sues.

Shut your whore mouth

Make me, bitch.

Don't go throwing around words you don't understand, kiddo.

>Mauled still dead except that "lol I'm back but was drunk af" post
>still no votes/polls for season 5 as Mauled announced
>league in a limbo over weeks for non-playoff coaches

truly the worst of seasons

There are usually multi week breaks between seasons. But the other stuff is right.

Dead

Not while I am here and attempting to get started on the Veeky Forums Secret League page. Don't expect it to have as much fancy shit put into that as with the main league's page.

Not at all, just something is better than nothing.

Alright, I got something going for the Secret League at fumbbl.com/p/notes?op=view&id=3426

Thankfully, it is only siting at a tiny 281 lines of code, but I still need to wait for the playoffs to end so I can finish this page.

Looks great

Thanks. I figured I tried to do something minimalistic and with less sloppy coding compared to the main league's page.

Obituary still needs player icons.

Secret Players don't have icons for BBCode

What am I not understanding here?

That Pizza had to rip those from team pages and put those in by himself.

Sounds like he's a good guy and that's what I assumed had to be done regardless.

All they are image embeds linking to the icon in the fumbbl directory, yes? All you'd need is the name and location of the icons. At the very least of the first variation of each of the positions.

Custom pitches and icons back when?

Squigs vs Cattles soon at 20.00 server time

Soon...

Those images were made from Shraaaag's scripts. which get the source from something like picon=486408. However, I can't get every individual sprite for the Secret League like I could with CRP and Stunty (for example, go to the Chaos team page, then right click and click Copy Image Location on the Beastman sprite. Paste it into something like Notepad and you will get something like fumbbl.com/FUMBBL/Images/PlayerIcons/cbeastman2.gif. Another example is th High Elf lineman's sprite location is fumbbl.com/i/466058).

I guess I could look around and/or ask, but I don't have time for that and I don't feel like bothering people right now. I'm going to bed, so I'll likely see you all tomorrow.

Even Crab doesn't do that

Too late, the esports bus has already left the station.

When asked, Day9 said: "Blood bowl is too big for me. I don't think I can handle it." as well as Husky saying 'If I werent such a failure as a human being, I'd ask secret league if I could commentate their games."

Yog! Where did you go? REEEE

fumbbl league is crp only and secret is everything else, right?

Not dead yet. Came back off holiday a little ill, seemed to get worse, drank a lot at weekend as it was my mate's housewarming, got a lot more ill.

/blog

Anyway, a questionnaire will be up within the day.

Better be in a few hours a gotta work a close into open tonight.

>Yog's team after the game

The after action report makes it look much less severe than it was.

Cinnabar wins 3-0 + 2 kills and a niggle.

Drux Darmanitan putting all the goblins on his back.

Yea but he got slammed the match before with 3 serious injuries.

/eww when?

Well it's starting.

Apparently my Slaan and I have a game against a starting Norse Team with 2 Runners, Berzerks, Ulfs, 4 Linos and a Thrower + 2 RRs.

Any tips?

I'm going for a starting Krox lineup BTW.

You're a team with no safety skills against a team with a whole bunch of safety skills.

Preserve rerolls, avoid allowing blocks.

>start with krox
Not necessary.

dead

It was almost 3 p.m. at that time, and I had to wake up at 9 p.m. for work. I didn't want to be fucking miserable by getting less than 6 hours of sleep (I get little sleep as is).

At least I have tonight, tomorrow night, and Monday night off, which allows me to reconnect with other projects I have abandoned due to not having time.

Ag1 pickup roll

Are interceptions needlessly convoluted?

Even in the rule book it seems like the only time you're going to intercept is if you roll a 6. And even if you're agi for with very long legs and such, you're going to fail on a 1. As stated by the rules, 1 will always fail, and 6 will always succeed regardless of traits/stats.

Why not just make every attempt to intercept roll a 6 or fail?

What combination of skills and agi would you need to make an interception just a 4+/3+/2+?

>What combination of skills and agi would you need to make an interception just a 4+/3+/2+?

Well, Slaan catchers get 4+ out of the bag.

Really Long Legs is +1
Extra Arms is +1

So, a Gutter Runner with RLL and Extra Arms is intercepting on a 3+. Anything beyond that requires 5 Agility.
To be honest, a Gutter Runner with Extra Arms, Leap and Really Long legs isn't THAT bad of a build even if you weren't trying to make him an interception machine. Unorthodox, but not totally illogical.

>GR with ea, leap, and rll
Sounds expensive. But would certainly ruin an elf's day and therefore has a place on the bench.

Then a pombc storm vermin for dorfs.

Skaven look appealing.

don't be touching opposing players if you want to intercept. being in contact fucks you over
