Fall of Hyrule Herobuilder: Episode 1 Crusade - Part 2

Cold winds blow through the mountain valley.

The sun begins to set as night gathers upon the river Zora, on the border of the Gerudo Valley and Hyrule. The air is filled with the shrieking of arrows and soldiers in a protracted siege, as the great Hylian crusade against Gerudo continues. A group of Hylian soldiers are trapped on the otherside of the river, the bridge having been destroyed, separated from the main body of the army as Gerudo from the mountains rain arrows, spears, and javelins down below at them, desperately trying to stay alive.

The siege goes on through day and dusk, the sun setting upon another wretched dayas as endless arrows and projectiles fly above heads of hylian and gerudo alike. The Hylians on the otherside of the river die of arrows, wounds, and exhaustion though commanders and soldiers alike try to hold out to the best of their abilities. Trenches and makeshift roof's of shields have been made, even some bodies of the dead have been piled upon dirt to give just a little bit more cover.

The sun descends upon darkened hopes of men for quick relief, even as the bridge is built at as much an agonizing pace as they, yet still hope they cling to as the bridge is built nonetheless.

Suddenly, fire and flames appear upon the mountain! The fire wizard, he's joined the battle! The troops watch his awesome display of pyrotechnical might as he blasts and burns the gerudo away from their holes. His attack seems to have inspired the troops. . .some a little too much.

The Goron and a tall Hylian soldier have had enough. They rally other soldiers to charge up the mountain, despite angry and desperate calls by other commanders to stay behind the defenses. “Fools!” they were called “you make yourselves a target!” Ingoring their commanders, Lancel and the Goron convince several men to make a march up the hill “better to die fighting than killed by arrows!”

And...it works! The goron uses his massive rock body to block arrows, soldiers holding behind shields to either side, marching up the hill. Every now and then a Gerudo tries to hit the men behind him, and the goron picks up a big rock and flings it at them smashing a few, causing others nearby to duck for cover. He and the men behind march slowly up the steep stony cliff, climbing, getting close enough to see the white's of the eyes of three Gerudo.

Three Gerudo who then stand up tall, their hands raised displaying three bombs. Oh...

Dorbunga:

The Goron is lifted a few feet into the air before crashing back down and rolling down the mountain side like a giant smoking boulder, crashing through anything in its unfortunate path. He lands at the bottom of the hill, just barely avoiding falling over into the river. When he gets up, he see's a great cloud of dust and smoke covering the men as well as boulders fallinng into the river.

The Goron escaped more serious harm. The soldiers he left behind are not so lucky.

Lancel and his men are now defenseless. Archers in hidden positions all around, and no cover from the Goron. There's a stillness in the air as time freezes for him, watching the other gerudo raise and draw their bows almost in slow motion. His wounds hurt, his sword and body feel heavy. He can feel it, death rearing itself to sprint at him riding a hundred arrows. The men around him look to their makeshift leader, not knowing what to do.

LANCEL, CHOOSE:
>[Prisoner!] - Is there truly a fate worse than death? Perhaps not. (For you the war is over, but perhaps you might still see the war to its end, if you can survive the Prince's dungeons. Choose if you wish to transition into playing a prisoner, with moderate physical handicaps).
>[Revenge unfulfilled, the sin of the father] – The war has ended for you. Your hatred is strong enough ro cling only upon life, refusing to die at the hands of a hated foe but unable to bring the revenge you seek. But anger dies hard, perhaps your lineage may carry the fire in their veins. (Choose if you wish to play a descendant in a later episode. He or she may carry some of your traits as rolled by the GM. Your warriors time in the game is over, unless you wish to continue to play as a cripple.)
>[The stranger and the soldier's soul] – Death is but a window, through which the wind can blow both ways. Choose this if you wish your character to fight in another episode, somewhat changed. But the episode is over for him)
>[Ain't taking me!] Gods damned if you didn't get some Gerudo piece, but you ain't about to be no prisoner or go home empty handed. With your last breathe you are inspired to kill as many Gerudo as you can (death is assured).

Virini and his following enter underground, into an almost cave or tunnel like thing. The walls are carved with ancient runes, seemingly both Hylian and Gerudo, skeletons line the floor.

Virini in particular, fins a skeleton hunched over a wooden chest. Inside there seem to be some curious equipment.

The party travels on unimpeeded heading deeper into a long and dark tunnel, with nought but a torch upon them. They come upon their first obstacle. The tunnel appears to be blocked by a big cave in, boulders and great piles of dirt walling the rest of the tunnel. Words are engraved upon a stone in both Hylian and Gerudo.

“Brother Maynard, what does the inscription say” says the leader of the knights to a monk in the party.

“Hmm, it's in ancient Hylian. It reads 'here beyond these rocks lay the old tunnel built by the ancient robots of Lanayru the Dragon and the Lanaryu Corporation in the year ('hmm, the year is faded'). A great flood collapsed the tunnel. Travelers beware!”

“Look! Over there, doors. And another message upon the rock.”

The monk reads again. Several doors lay before Virini, these are the inscriptions upon each door
>Enter here to the hot fiery fire place with fire
>Enter here to the place of dead robots (there's a new message scribbled over here in newer Hylian, it reads “DON'T ENTER”)
>Enter here to the calm, silent peaceful place
>Most dreadful mine-cart shortcut to the boss level of great pain and woe

Oh, and one last thing, one of the other knights has found a box. Not a chest, a box, buried in the dirt, its ancient transcription reads “do not open”

Lossin along with several other knights try to protect themselves and the horses, aiding in the digging and lifting shields against incoming arrows. Lossin's metal shield is heavy, heavier still with arrows, but survival compells him to raise his shield and keep it raised just like in training. All around him his fellow lancers do the same, and every so often he goes out to aid one who has fallen.

A trench is being dug, thank the gods, thanks to the work of levvies. And yet as night falls something else occurs. The flame wizard suddenly attacks the hills, and in a moment several levy men and other warriors mutiny disobeying orders and start charging up a hill along with an odd Goron. Only the knights have stayed their position, unwilling to disobey their captains orders.

During this chaos, something else happens. He hears a tremendous blast, and the Goron is sent rolling down the hill. But that isn't the worst of it. Following the Goron, great trails of dust start appearing on the mountain side...

The gerudo are causing a rock slide! Great big stones begin rolling down the hill, smashing through huddled soldiers and makeshift earthen defenses, scattering them, crushing man and horse alike. It's utter chaos. Worse still, the smoke from the fire and dust covers the hills. Suddenly the arrows stop, the Hylians unable to see into the smoke, and the Gerudo have mysteriously stopped firing.

The dust and smokes covers the men, separating them from each others vision in a thick haze. Lossin can't see his fellow knows but he can hear his captain roar when he recognizes what's going on. “They're going to attack through the smoke. Swords! Swords! Get ready men!”

1. Alas, although the armory by and large escaped much of the damage done do the supply depot, even weapons were somewhat short these days. Firem cannot seem to get a better bow.
2. Firem joins a line of fellow archers huddled behind makeshift wooden hoardings and pallisades propped up on the ground, firing off at enemies on the hills. It's incredibly difficult to spot some of the Gerudo firing positions, and arrows seem to just come up from behind the rocks. Firem gets to work though, trying his best to pick out a target.
All around him something seems to be happening, he and others notice it. Though most of the enemy fire is inaccurate, Hylian archers are hit at a steady, intervalled pace. Approximately spaced every 6-7 seconds apart, a Hylian archer dies or is wounded without fail.

An enemy sharpshooter! But where. Others have tried very hard to find but it's near impossible to do so. Firem himself tries to scan the hills for this deadly enemy. But it seems, he was found first.

The first thing Firem notices is half his vision is gone, the second thing he hears is a whooshing sound, and the last thing he senses is pain.
+Wounded (Left eye torn by arrow; bleeding)

1. Alweir has been given command of a group of Hylian Guard. These aren't mere levvies or conscripts but trained, professional, and disciplined soldiers with a balanced force of both swordsmen, spearmen, archers, crossbows, and a few armored knights. Trained professional. However, much to his dismay, Alweir has discovered he's been selected to lead. . .the other Wizzrobes! Who thus far, in their 'mysterious ways' have not elected to join the battle and still distrust Alweir. Even though he proved himself a true magician, their mistrust seems to have intensified now that he's been given command over them.

The Prince has made this order as well, that Alweir is to be considered “official advisor of war to the Prince, and to be listened to in counsel and wisdom by his generals and commanders.” The Prince has essentially thrust it upon Alweir to bring together several dozen nobles and officers into a coherent fighting force. However, this has simply earns the ire of the other nobles who wouldn't stoop so low as to be lead by some unknown wizard.
+Watched by Wizzrobes
+Distrust by other Commanders

2. Alweir then proceeds to do the only thing he can reasonably do to turn the tide of the battle. Attack! He flame jumps directly into the hills to start buring away the Gerudo from their dug in positions. And he is incredibly good at it. Fire and smoke erupt from a mere flick of his finger or a single breathe. Adding to this he takes out the mysterious red candle, magic instinctually telling him of its use. He holds the tip of it to his mouth, and exhales flame. Fire erupts from the candletip like a flamethrower and lands squarely on the ground. Unlike the other flames generated by him, these flames seem to “stick”, burning much longer as though they were fueled, creating pockets of hot burning fire that don't go out naturally.

On top of that, his mythril armor. It's not dragon scale, but arrows deflect on it with ease. It almost seems like he could turn the tide of battle alone!

And still there are issues. His armor is not completely protective, and every now and then an arrow strikes at a vulnerable joint, or an exposed hand, or somewhere inconvenient and painful. He tries very hard to use his flame jump to evade it but the sheer weight and number of archers /everywhere/ starts hitting him. It's painful, not as painful as the ice magic, but even his draconic strength is being sapped by the wounds and blood loss. One more arrow under the knee and he's had enough, and withdraws.
+Moderately Wounded

Tuvuma continues to lead the siege as the battle progresses. Much to her surprise, a fire wizard assaulted her forces and a group of Hylians attempt to push up the mountain and attack her forces. She desperately fought to maintain order as Gerudo were savagely burned to ashes, as the Goron blocked their arrows and threw rocks and boulders back at them, leading Hylian forces up the hill. After narrowly beating back the wizard at cost.
+Lightly Wounded (Slight Burns)

The wizard repulsed, she herself does something about the goron. Taking a racksack and some bombs she runs down the montain and gives some to several gerudo right in front of the Goron. Just as it is mere feet away she and her comrades stand up and lob the bombs at the Goron. The Goron is thrown back and rolls down the hill.

That's when she gets a brilliant idea. She roars a command to other Gerudo, who begin dispersing bombs to each other. When all is set, they light the bombs behind great stones and boulders. Huge stones and clouds of dust descended on the Hylian's, breaking apart their defensive formations and scattering them. The dust and smoke from the fire wizard also gave the Gerudo the cover they needed from enemy archers to mount an attack.

Under the cover of smoke and dust, Gerudo warriors rush down hill in a counter attack, ready to slaughter the Hylians.

>Tuvuma herself has the option of joining the charge, or maintaining her mountain top command position.

Pax continues to help his commander, both of them continuing to organize the frantic construction of trenches, earth banks, and generally keeping as many men alive as possible. Its working well, the abundance of shields from the dead and the soft sand (and ocassionally, the dead themselves) piling up a defense that does offer more and more cover to men. The sun sets to dusk as night begins to fall.

A fire wizard attacks the Gerudo positions on the mountain, much to the cheers and boosted spirits of the men. Chaos, however, follows as a group of men and some commanders break off to mount a counter attack. The force is polarized, some insisting that staying is the coures of action and a charge is suicide, others that the time was now to use the opening by the fire wizard. The Hyilans hide behind the cover of a large Goron who blocks arrows for them.

Just as it seems like they're about to reach the top of the hill there's a blast and the Goron is sent rolling back down the hill. Arrows then fall upon the hylians furiously, it looks to be a horrific slaughter! More explosions soon follow that. Boulders roll down the hill, crashing into the defenses and formations of defending Hylians, smashing some to pace or sending them flying, earth banks being undone, and a mess is made. Dust and smoke soon billow down the mountain, covering it, as the arrows stop firing from both sides.

Cries and alarms, a Gerudo charge is expected by some commanders. Now while the men are scattered and hurt and the arrows have ceased would be the perfect time. The dust blocks Pax vision from his captain as well as the rest of his men, the smoke suffocating. All pax can hear the chaos of men and cries of an incoming fight.

1-2. Leaving her charge behind, Silea decides to join the Prince's own personal guard, his elite group of fighters whom he, rather than act a spoiled boy in the saftey of his palace, takes the fight directly and personally to the enemy.

Already news of the recent theft of the Hylian supplies reach the fortress boosting the spirits of the warriors.

Silea is already known well among her sisters and is let into the palace courtyard. The Prince and his raiding party have yet to return, so the warriors he left behind can do little else but train. Silea does so against her sisters. Her speed is impressive indeed, allowing her to best many other able bodied warriors. However, she is still bested herself by the more skilled Gerudo warriors who know how to handle a foe that is merely fastr or stronger through superior swordplay. Thus, Silea still has more to learn and the other warriors are keen on teaching it. Gerudo training can often be as harsh and unforgiving as actual combat, so Silea's body does start to bear some bruises and a some scars. But with the enemy at the gates, skill is worth more than beauty.
>+3/6 Good Swordsman
>+Very Lightly Wounded

In time, the Prince does return, on a wagon filled with provisions and supplies (with more expected by river), to many cheers and shouts of the Gerudo people. The Prince nods acknowleding them, but all can see on his face his mind is busy thinking about the defense of the land.

Silea is proud when the Prince personally greets her and several other Gerudo to his own personal guard. She and other new recruits then swear their life and loyalty to him, to die for him if need be, and to protect the Gerudo people so long as they live.

He then goes to say to Silea that he remembers her and her speed, and is glad to have her. The Prince is already planning a new mission. Not one against the Hylians held at bridge but of equal importance. And he needs a good swordsman.

But then he also says this “I also need someone able to read ancient Hylian. Silea, I have heard it you 'claimed' a man in your house. A hylian male, who is a gifted reader and scholar. Is this true? I have need of such a person.”

Mutiny! Chaos on the pirate ship as it floats down the river. Harsh words and firebrand tongues fling insults at one another. Hatred begets hatred, dividing the Gerudo into polarized groups. Half the Gerudo agree with Noboru and want to slay the Hylians, the other half side with Captain Blackheart as the Prince DID specifically hire and charge him with the naval operation as part of the raid.

Captain Blackheart's last comment about 'Civilizing' the Gerudo sparks the powder keg, as did Noburu's challenge.

No one is sure who threw the first blow. It could very much have been a Gerudo as it was a pirate charging at them in fear. But a massive brawl erupts on the deck of the Charlitne. Gerudo fight Gerudo, men fight men, unable to tell who is friend and who is foe. Hylians are free'd from their bonds, some immediately jump ship, while others pick up clubs and wood to fight with, still others watch. Some try to stop the violence, others simply add to it. The only clear thing is the duel that erupts in the center of the ship, between Captain Blackheart and Noboru. Her strength and endurance against his skill and experience, and the battle is evenly matched.

As the disordered fight rages on all around, one of the Hylians prisoners fights with a flaming torch and club. Facing down an angry gerudo, he lobs it at her only for her to duck and miss. The flamng torch rolls around the deck. The Gerudo who see's it then realizes something and makes a lunge, but too late! It falls down the stairs leading into the ships hull, and in a bit smoke starts to come up along with the smell of burning rum.

The fight is killed there. The raccous noise is replaced by silence. In moments, a shout and a curse comes from the gerudo pointing to the Hylian.

“YOU FOOL! YOU'VE KILLED US ALL!”

“The bombs!”

“A-abandon ship!”

“Run!”

Gerudo, Pirate, and Hylian scatter, leaping from the deck of the Charlitne and into the river. Blackheart see's the fire start to rise from within his ship. He's only able to take the very first step to react, before Noboru's body is thrown at him by the blast. Then darkness.

---

>Captain Blackheart and Noboru, roll 1d100 for the outcome of the blast as you both float down river and wait before posting your turns. Alternatively, you may roll a single action this to boost your health outcome or attempt to rescue some supplies/people as you swim down the river as your current turn.

At first, the Hylian seemingly refuses this ploy too. Even as you travel up along the lake side following him. It's like he knows where he's going a little too well.

The Hylian leads Zwilli to a nearby farm, where he tells her to be quiet and wait. Zwilli is suspicious, how can he prove he won't just call the town guard on her. He retorts that if he wanted to make her a prisoner and turn her in he wouldn't have left her untied or left her weapons on her person. If he tries to leave the house, she'll know.

The Hylian approaches the house and knocks inside. The door opens, and an hunched elderly woman with a cane steps out. She hugs her. He hugs her back and enters inside. Hours pass by, and Zwilli grows bored. She decides to spy on the window. Inside she see's him eating a meal with an elderly man and woman.

It isn't until much later that night that he sneaks out of the house, with several items in hand. Zwilli steps out of the shadows to meet him. He knows what she's going to ask, so she tells her.

“I was a farmer's son when my best friend the local Lord's younger son and I were sent to the academy. My Lord offered to pay my parent's debt and give their own farm if I became an officer in his army and fight by his son. That's why I joined this war. And then my Lord died, and his elder son refuses to keep the deal that was promised. That's why I must go back and earn my pay as an officer.

But I see were this war is going. The prince of Hyrule has become greedy. When Ganon refused to bow and pay him the great tribute as summoned, he doomed his people. Hyrule will march on Gerudo, and when they will, death will follow.

I know who you are too. Your cloak, your knives, the raid; the way you knew to capture and take an officer. You're no hapless Gerudo, you're a thief or a spy. You know how to hide from an army and take what you need to live. Your the kind of person I'm trained to stop. Simple villagers will not catch you.

This is what I'm giving you. No more.”

“Follow the lake until you see the first road, then head north. The map will let you avoid the major towns and guide you to a ferry run by outsiders with no afiliation to Hyrule who can take you across the river. Then just head through the mountains and you'll reach the Gerudo Valley.

I'm heading to town in the morning. I don't know who you are or why you fight, but if you can, stay out of this war. Get out while you can and find a life anywhere else. I hope to the gods, we don't meet again in this war.”

---
>Kill him now! He might still be lying and the map could be a trap!
>Tackle him and tie him up. You have the map, but you still need a prisoner to take to the Prince.
>Sneak and follow him into town in the morning. Just to watch make sure he's not going to call a patrols on you or something
>Head off and follow the map
>Pay a surprise visit to his parents. Gods know why on earth you would want to do that.

1. Ash starts making drawings on the Gerudo fashion, and goes into great depth. A bit too much depth actually. He starts off drawing Gerudo warriors in armor, then in every day garments. But he also draws Silea in some very revealing fashion too. Perhaps he really shouldn't have gone through her stuff.

2. As Ash draws, suddenly the book is lifted up from his lap. He looks up to see two Gerudo women staring down at him.
“What do we have here, Tusuma.”
“A Hylian spy perhaps?”
“No. It's that welp that clings to Silea like a parasite.”
“Look at this! Do you see how indecently he draws us!”
“Are these her undergarments?”
“I think it's time we taught him a lesson.”
“Won't Silea be mad we beat up her claim?”
“No, she won't. He won't tell her because she'll find out what he's been up to.”
Before Ash can do anything the two gerudo rip out several pages from his book and drag him into an alley and savagely kick and beat him. They leave him hurt and spit on him, tossng the torn pages of his book at him. “fucking Hylian scum.”

Nas tries to paint! Already he heads off to go paint it, when he suddenly gets distracted by a scene before him.

He watches as four prisoners are surrounded by a rough and brutish mob of soldiers. Gerudo captives caught and tied up. From their shouts and from the scene of Hylian men pulling off their armor before them, it's very obvious what is about to happen.

In particular, the face and body of one catches his attention. And the eyes. She stares directly at him, and the gaze from her eyes burns itself into his memory.

Later that day, overcome by it, he paints it by memory.

His painting, is the most accurate depiction of the fate of Gerudo prisoners. About to be brutalized by an obscene mob, and yet their faces display the emotions of pride and sorrow, anger and sadness, putting the Gerudo in the light as the victims of Hylian aggression. Some might say, it is an accurate image of what will befall the Gerudo as a whole. This is a dangerous painting! Better not let anyone see it!
+1 Painting – Fate of the Gerudo

Meilouru uses the dust on the officer, who listens to her.
“What? Are you serious? Why the fuck are you telling this to me now. You should have said this hours ago! Gods damit. Alright, we'll organize a search party.

Now are you going to join in, there's other men waiting in line? No? Then get the fuck out of my sight.”

Meilouru manages to slip away from the scene just in time, avoiding revealing herself. Just barely. She wonders if that officer will even remember what she said. Especially since that ship would have long sailed far away by now, taking with it the food.

"No it doesn't."
"Look. Can't we just come back out if it isn't nice then?"
"These doors tend to lock themselves behind you."

"Why would you design a door like this. It's rubbish that's what it is."

--Actions-----
1. Alweir heads back to the camp to get his injury treated. Maybe there is some red mixture left in the bottle -- although he doubts it. Alweir dislikes all of this combat, but he doesn't really see another option at this point. It's the only way to get to the items he needs. [Injury Treatment]
2. After some thought and medical attention Alweir decides to draw up a better plan for the army while his arm and hand heal. Hopefully it will be sufficient quality to win over the wizzrobes and generally resolve the current calamity he is in. Periodically he seeks the advice of some of his new subordinates, as he has never led a troop before.

The plan is, in all honesty, the best he can come up with. Alweir appreciates the speed and efficiency of the wizzrobes, and so devises a plan based around them: quick movement with the wizzrobes to throw the enemy off balance, and then hitting the Gerudo with proper army elements while the enemy us off balance. It looks good on paper, admittedly, but all plans do. [Constructing a plan]

"Well then. Would you rather fight robots, whatever those are, suffer through heat possibly unbearable, or go through the area of peace and possibly find nothing?

The Knights start deliberating among themselves, and just as they are about to come to a decision the monk grabs everyone's attention.

"Look! I found something. It's a scroll."

"A scroll. What is on it then, good brother?"

"It is written: 'Only Virini can choose the door'"

"Is that what it really says?"

"Yes. I'm not paraphrasing."

"Well, that's very specific then isn't it? Alright, sir. Which door shall we go?"

Fate is some shit. "Get your weapons ready then, we're going through the robot door."

Though not particularly swift and dextrous as those who are gifted at melee combat, he is very agile. It's quite easy for him to maintain his balance and recover from falls from tall places, as well as giving him a good advantage when it comes to archery skills]

--Wounded (Left eye torn by arrow; bleeding)

Firem had felt his heart race in a way he never had before. He didn't know if his face showed it, but inside he felt--well, he didn't know what exactly. What was happening around him terrified, the blood and death sickened, the danger tangibly real. But it enlivened him.

Then the sharpshooter's arrow came. Firem screamed as he fell with his back against the palisade, clutched at his face near his left eye, and by slim chance he did not find an arrow. It took him a while to reason what to do.

>1. Firem grabbed his blade and, reaching for any available cloth from another archer or from his own clothes, tried to cut off and tear the clothes to fashion a bandage to tie around his head to cover his left eye, if at least to keep blood out of the other one.

His back to the palisade, he felt the occasional thunk thunk of arrows hitting the wood ever more. Until he didn't. This, he thought, had to be a chance.

>2. Firem scooted along the palisade to the right, keeping his head low, before he chanced peeking above the palisade and scanning for the sharpshooter or, if he could not find them, attacking any target of opportunity, before scooting off to repeat.

Nas sits alone in his personal tent, staring at the piece he has just created. He cannot help but mutter to himself. “What have I gotten myself into”. He just wanted to paint the excitement and action of a war, but, this.
Nas looks at the painting again.
This is far too real. The anguish, the sorrow, the rage, the evil. It is all present here and now. Nas for a moment, considers leaving and returning home, but immediately discards that notion. The Prince would never allow it. No, he’s stuck here painting not just the prince, but history, into something they are not.
Nas again looks to his newest painting and cannot help but sigh.
he is stuck here, for better or worse until the war is over. If that is so, then he must simply do as he can so what happens during the war shall not be forgotten.

Rolled 38, 17 = 55 (2d100)

1-2. Nas hides his newest painting in his room, for he cannot bear to dispose of it. Next, he will get to work on the Prince’s commission, only now, there will be a few edits. The Gerudo raid scene in the beginning will show the raiders wearing different uniforms from the Gerudo in the latter part of the picture. Showing, to those who examine the picture closely enough, the different affiliation between the Raiders and the Gerudo defending their homeland.

The Scene where the prince is supposed to have felt the great determination to protect his people and defend against the Gerudo threat will largely remain the same, but the princes face will have subtle differences that, while showing a powerful visage, also show an undertone of arrogance and cruelty.

The scene where the prince rallies the troops and his people to victory will have the changes of small, yet detailed people in the background. These people will have dissatisfied expressions, yet the work is so fine and small that it would require either sagely perception, or a magnifying glass to see the underlying dissatisfaction of the people. The soldiers, while full of determination, will also showcase one out of every five of the soldiers with the hints of a cruel and eager expression, these soldiers will be modeled after he ones he witnessed committing the brutality.

The final climactic scene will remain largely the same as well. The differences being that the Gerudo will be made to look less savage and more determined to defend themselves from invasion, and again, the uniforms they wear will look noticeably different from the Gerudo raiders in the first scene. The prince will still be the center of attention, filled with determination, power, and an underlying hint of utter arrogance.

Lancel.

His parents, his village, slaughtered by Gerudo pirates.

He is going to meet his clan again. But not before avenging just a few more. Filled with despair and rage, he and what is left of his comrade flings themself at the enemy.

With reckless abandon he swings his sword shouting and cursing at anything it can bite. His vision fades, just as he senses he's about to fall he jumps at the nearest gerudo impaling her with his sword, even as halberds and scimitars fell him from all sides.

He dies, as his namesake, having “piked” one last gerudo. He takes with him 20 good men, and through this war they took with them 44 Gerudo warriors.

The knights follow Virini who valiantly takes the first step into the door of dead robots. The moment the last night enters, the door shuts behind em. Metal bars descend from the ceiling, blocking the door. That's when they notice the torn skeletons hudled against it.

“What did I tell you! Closed right up behind us it did.”

“I still think we should have gone to the fire place.”

“Oh, hush you.”

The group walks on, in quiet, perturbed by the amount of skeletons around in strange garb. Suddenly one of them spots something different.

“What is that”

“It looks like a face. And look a body.”

You find the still, static bodies of strange beings made of stone and metal, still as the skeletons that surround them. Are these the so called “robots”?

“Hey, I think found something.” one of the knights says, and everyone looks where he's pointing at.

It's a corpse. Not like the ancient bones and skeletons, but decrepit flesh. “This one looks different. Like it's been here for a short while eh? Not like the rest of this lot. I'm going to take a closer look.”

The knight walks up to the corpse, it sits right in the center of the hallway crouched over, as though it were taking a nap. The knight gets a few steps closer, and then the corpses eyes turn red.

There's a scream, a scream that chills your bones and freezes your muscles, horrifying to hear as the corpses jaw drops into an impossible and horrific gape, wide enough to swallow a man whole. And it does! Devouring the knight who stains his pants before death.

The corpse then starts lumbering its way slowly, slowly toward the rest of you. From deep within the bowels of the tunnels, far off yet perhaps even more terrifying, you hear more of the same kind of scream.

The Knight's leader finally gains his bearings and yells this:

“RUN AWAY!”

Followed by the rest of his knights.

“RUN AWAAY!”

“RUN AWAAAAAAAAAAY!”

Virini can't be help agree, especially when he turns to see more red eyes appear in the dark behind them. As the Knights run, they almost don't know where /to/ run, until another voice is heard from nowhere.

“Follow me if you want to live.”

Indeed, although it was generally agree'd that once the bridge was completed an attempt would be made to sally forth and rescue the force, very little was done to plan /how/ this would be carried out. It seems to be a repetitive them for Hylian's to believe their numbers and assets guarantee them any sort of head on engagement through numbers.
This is probably true, but even then at what cost? And so Alweir gets them to sit on the table and make even some modicum of unified strategy, and incorporates the Wizzrobes into it. 1. One thing for sure, living in the Gerudo as a male was no where near the endless bouts of orgies at the hands of flesh starved horny warrior women as the outdated book procalimed. The Hylian takes Zwilli's hand. Suddenly he grips her hand and pulls her close, his other arm wrapped around her hip. His face is inches away from the hers, and she stares into his blue eyes “my name?” Before Zwilli can do anything else, he pulls her close and draws her in a kiss.

The surprised Gerudo is let go, and with a smirk he tells his name: “Tancred.

Thank you Zwilli, I got to steal a kiss from a pretty thief.”

He turns walks away back into the house, leaving behind a red faced Gerudo. . .

The road as it turns out, isn't very far away from the farm at all. From it Zwilli is able to see a ways off, and spots an inn on the river bank with a ferry on one side. There are some horses and other odd beasts stabled outside, but none of them appear to be Hylian in nature.

The road also branches off to two more places. One road seems to head into an actual Hylian town, presumably the one Tancred mentoined. Another road leads off into a manor on a hill. It looks rather extravagant, with well trimmed hedges and decour on the outside, and walled. Indeed, a very fine looking carriage towed by white horses and driven by a man in fine clothes enters its gates.

Captain Blackheart floats down the river, his mind filled with two things: Rage, at the loss of his ship and the utter disaster this entire affair was, and Care, about the fate of his crew.
He doesn't notice yet that his leg is gone as well, a serious wound, but one which would not kill him. Indeed, he would eventually find use for a wooden spoke from the wheel of his deceased ship.

CHOOSE:
[A Pirate's life fer me] – Captain Blackheart, the infamous pirate, after the horrid affair with the Gerudo and Hylian, decides these sea's are no friend to a true pirate. Taking what remains of his crew, and finding a new ship, sails off east, into the Zora Sea's, his back to Hyrule forever, wind in his sail, to new adventure. His stories would still reach Hyrule, but, as with all pirates tales, he would meet his end. Some say, he was hanged. Others that he fought to the last on his next ship after being surrounded by sailors. His death was, however, confirmed, his loot plundered, and his men in chains. But he established a reputation that would give no small mark annals of history.
[Lost at sea?] – Captain Blackheart. Few knew what became of him or his crew after the Hylian Crusade. Most logically presume he was killed in the blast, any survivors of his crew scattered. But his story, while on Hiatus, has not ended. Not nearly yet. There are more things between heaven and hell than dreamt of in the philosophy of man.
[A fire greater than the spark] – Captain Blackheart's bones ached at the loss of his ship and so many men, and at the bloodshed and carnage he had seen. He sought a momentary relief, in the form of a woman, whom he made his wife. They had a son. Captain Blackheart entered an early retirement, but in doing so, spawned a seed far greater than anything even he could have imagined. Through him, in times to come, the Blackheart name would strike fear, not in the mere sailors or even any sea, but throughout the whole world.

There is difficulty in this current course of action. The biggest thing is the dust. It covers the view of commanders from both sides, who are unable to properly visualize and assess the situation. All Tuvuma can do is rely on word of runner, the sound of the fight, and the will of the Sand Goddess. Indeed, already one of her predictions was true, the Goron did prove to be a major thorn in the Gerudo's ass. The warriors were instructed to throw bombs and try to kill it with bombs whenever possible, but all she could see was what looked like a whirlind of sand, rock, and sword spinning around and bombs deflecting off it. Realizing the futility she tells the Gerudo to ignore the goron and go for the men who can actually be killed.

The Goron is proving a major obstacle throughout this entire thing. Not only before when it knocked her and a good number of Gerudo off the bridge, nearly lead a charge up the mountain, and now this. What to be done.

One of the Gerudo reports setting a few scratches and marks on its belly, and that its belly seems to be less rocky than the rest of its body. But it spins so fast that archers and javelins can't even spit at it. If only there were a way to subdue it somehow.

Thus far the Slaughter is effective, even with her limited command ability due to circumstance, but whether this momentum is maintained or how long the dust screen lasts Tuvuma watches with great intent. The Gerudo would need to be sure to leave before the dust fully settles, or they might get caught in enemy archer fire.

One thing to note is that her major effort to commanding troops hasn't just helped sharpen her skill, but also her leadership skill and a repetoire among her sisters as a leader.

Bob has already begun to heal, and there are no more free medical supplies. With little else to do, feels the magic bag of clay is heavy again, and his mind turns to his art, if only to get away from the pain of his wounds.

He bakes a mortar and a pestle, like a doctor would for grinding up herbs for medicines. Perhaps he wishes the camp had some. It's a fine thing, he even tests it out with some grass.

To his great surprise, the color of the grass. . .changes. Into a thick, red powder. He gives it a taste, and spits it out. Ugh it's awful, but it. . .tastes just like Red Potion! By the gods. . .it IS red potion.

Nas paints his paintings as the Prince stands perfectly still for several hours at a time, interspersed with snacks and refreshments. He makes his sly adjustmenets to the paintings, subtle things, not easily seen, but leaving the clues that he wished to leave behind. In a bold yet subvertive mood, he invites the nobles to dinner in the Prince's tent to unveil the paintings.

He removes the white tarp from it, and there is silence. Neither the prince, nor his nobles, are entirely sure what to make of it. It's clear some of them are thinking on it, perhaps even some of them have a critique on the art, but not one dare say a word.

Finally one noble stands up.

“To Prince Nohan!” he says, lifting up a goblet of wine.

A short while later, the others follow standing up in the toast “To the Prince!”

Prince Nohan, flattered, accepts this as the gathering starts commending Nas on his “capture of the Prince's greet deeds in this noble war.” As the Nobles nod their heads and agree on the merit of the art, showering him with compliments, as the Prince starts taking pride Nas' work. He says he will hang them upon the palace walls when he takes his rightful place as king.

Nas breathes a sign of relief. Saved by that old fabel that no would tell an emperor he has no clothes.

He had better not try that again anytime soon. . .or will he?

You are Lord Janus Amberlain. You and your kin have defended the northern reaches of Hyrule from things most Hylians don't even dream of in their nightmares. Alone and separated by great distance from the capital, several times your noble line has had to quell the thought of independance and freedom from its taxes. You and your family have remained utterly loyal, and for this reason you now find yourself in a place as strange and different to you and your men as your own home from Hyrule.

The desert burns like a fire by day, but freezes by night, sweapt by sand. You have yet to see it, but where the other lords dream of victory you had some loyal men scout it out and return, and they have spoken it is thus.

It is an unforgiving wilderness, but it is still a widlerness, to be learned, respected, and if these are done, survived.

You bring with you perhaps the most loyal cadre of over a hundred hardened fighters of any lord, grizzled fighters of many winters and many fights against man and beast, each and everyone ready to die for you.

The Prince notices Silea's bruises, along with those of your sisters in training, and draws from a bag a large number of red potions.
“I want everyone well rested, and at top condition. This is going to be a fight against a foe worse than even the Hylians. Silea, ready your Hylian. We move in the early morn before the sun rises.”
+5 Red Potion

Silea returns home, to prepare again. She finds her claim cleaning house and. . .bruised again. He says he fell down the stairs. . .again.

She has him drink a Red potion and tells him to get some rest.

>You have been healed

In the morning, Silea wakes up Ash and the both of them muster to the courtyard. Even the royal witchmothers Koume and Kotake are there. He leads them through the desert, south, away from the bridge, and before a cave.

There, inside the cave, a great door with ancient runes.

“Ash. Read to me what the door says.”

“Yes my lord. It says, 'To ope-”

“No. Ash. Read it to me in ancient Hylian. I need to hear the words.”

Ash obeys, reading the inscription on the door. The Prince listens intently, and then, from his bag, pulls out a strange green device. It's a curious thing, with several small buttons and a long springy stalk at it's end. He presses something, and then repeats the words himself in ancient Hylian, as the device glows.

Suddenly the door itself begins to glow, and opens. A gust of dust from deep within breathes out, like a ghostly wail, revealing a tunnel that leads into darkness.

The young Gerudo prince calls on Silea and another warrior, who are to take point as the group travels within. Deep inside these ruins, he says, is an ancient power that could help fight the Hyilan horde. But there is also an ancient evil buried. Have your swords ready.

1.Meiloru is about to head to the armory, when turning a corner she bumps into someone. Her heart freezes, as she looks up and stares into the inhuman eyes of a Wizzrobe staring back down at her. Petrified with fear, the Wizzrobe stares at her puzzlingly, then . . . it realizes something.
Oh gods, it can smell the magic powder on her! It starts a shriek, a terrible shriek, and raises a wand at her. Meiloru barely pulls out a scoot fruit in her mouth to avoid whatever the Wizzrobe was doing, and suddenly she finds herself just outside the camp.

She runs for her life and doesn't look back.

You are Bajoc Elw. Having risen from humble beginnings to the rank of "Imperial Administrator" you have, through a silver tongue, cunning, and absolute ruthelessness, made your way into this position all in the prospect of life's most potent tool and weapon: Wealth.

Wealth is power. Not satisfied with a small fortune, you seek the real thing. And this war is just the answer to it.

You remember the cause of this war. The Prince's greed rivals your own. He did not only order Prince Ganon to come to the capital and bow himself to himiliate him, but also placed upon the Gerudo an exuberant tribute to be paid. And he knew the Gerudo prince would never submit to such an outrageous request, guaranteeing war and the chance to take it by force.

For this reason you know the Prince is ill to trust you. He seeks the very same wealth and prestige as you do and he intend to take it by the force of all Hyrule.

Of yet other concern is word from afar that the great the great Alsov family is also on the move, having heard rumors that the army is in desperate need of supply. You yourself have no such wealthy family or supplies to back you.

But these do not daunt you. You started life from nothing, were willing to do anything for wealth and power, eliminated anyonethat got in your way, and don't intend to stop now.

Name: Lord Janus Amberlain
Faction: Hyrulian
Race: Hylian
Fluff: To say Lord Amberlain is a hard man would be an understatement. The Amberlain estates border on the edge of civilization with nought but dark forests and monsters by it’s side. The Amberlain family has served the Hylian kings for as long as can be remembered as faithful guards against the monsters that stalk the forests and lurk in the darkness of caves. Janus has taken this duty to a new level ranging out into the wilderness culling the monsters before they can threaten the kingdom. A stoic humorless man he is often said to have “a fist of iron and a heart to match” though few would dare say it to his face. When the crusade was called Lord Janus set out from his remote domain with his cadre of loyal troopers to aid his kingdom and the call of his prince, even if he had his own reservations about the the “threat” the Gerudo posed.
