Wahh bitcoin is slow

>wahh bitcoin is slow
>wahh fees

So guys, how can I securely ship an ounce of gold to a person on other side of the world in a couple of hours for a mere $14 fee?

Bitcoin is to gold what email is to posting letters. This is literally a new paradigm.

But we could just use any other crypto instead and it will go through in seconds with a 2 cent fee.

>shitty transactions makes it similar to gold, but better because gold has worse transactions. Because it has shitty transactions like gold, it must be valuable like gold, only more valuable because less shitty transactions.

Fresh out from r/bitcoin I see.

The absolute state of buttcoiners attempting to rationalize Bitcoin being a dysfunctional, obsolete blockchain. The only valuable thing about Bitcoin is its brand recognition.

I want newfags who don't understand this technology to go

>creating a 250 byte transaction in the blockchain is comparable to shipping physical goods

but no other crypto has proven itself for as long as BTC has, it's just now starting to gain trust from normies.

Then you are sending shit, not gold.

>But wahh why would anyone value Bitcoin over my favourite shitcoin

The same reason people pay $450 million for a Da Vinci and $1 for a postcard with a nice painting on it.

Bitcoin is the first the original cryptocurrency. Itt will be written about in the history books hundreds of years from now and gain legendary mythical status. Nobody will remember your shitcoin.

newfags to crypto like u don't understand

>permanently storing data in the world's largest decentralized supercomputer network should be near-free

> The only valuable thing about Bitcoin is its brand recognition.

And brand is MASSIVE. No other coin will ever top Bitcoin in brand. It has mythical qualities for many people. The story of Satoshi and Bitcoin will be taught to kids in schools hundreds of years from now.

Again, why do people pay $450 mil for a Da Vinchi over $0 for a random art student's excellent painting?

The brand.

Bitcoin was meant to bank the unbanked, replace fiat, and replace banks. That was the mission for crypto and it still is. Bitcoin failed to accomplish that but there will be others to take its place.

>bitcoin is digital gold

>hold bitcoin
>wealth is safe because not inside the banking system
>government cant confiscate it
>can literally take $10 million over the border by simply remembering my seed phrase
>Race war breaks out, Ill fly to thailand and can survive for years even if bank account gets frozen

yes BTC is absolutely worthless
it has no value whatsoever

>No other coin will ever top Bitcoin in brand.

This sentiment is what leads to complacency. Things move quickly in tech. If you're not remaining at the cutting edge, you will be replaced. Technology doesn't work like art. Obsolete, outdated tech gets abandoned and forgotten. Historical works of art are timeless.

>decentralized supercomputer
>three centralized mining pools control almost 50% of total hashrate; six largest about 75%

Pick one.

>fleeing the race war
at least stay behind and either fight or fund the good side

>Technology doesn't work like art. Obsolete, outdated tech gets abandoned and forgotten

yeah thats why the internet still runs on the TCP/IP protocol
oh wait...

Why hasn't Litecoin replaced Bitcoin with its better tech? Why hasn't any coin replaced Bitcoin in 9 years?

Now, why are you using html to access this website? There are newer better languages.

You don't get it. Bitcoin was first. And Bitcoin is an asset that is not inflationary, so yes it is a store of value and digital gold. There is no reason it will not eclipse gold with $7 trillion marketcap.

Reminder almost all investors who "own" gold own some ticket saying that some gold is held for them in a vault somewhere. They can't actually "cash out" their gold.

Are there people that actually believe this?

Yeah "dumb money" people like Roger Ver and early adopters believe this.

What has more store of value ("store = for safekeeping / use the future") in 10 or 100 years time?

1 bitcoin - Accessible until the end of time until the last harddrive is lost.

Some digits on a bank's mainframe which say your account has $15,000 USD tokens. Bank may be insolvent in 100 years time. Inflation will have reduced your spending power to 1% of today's prices by then.

Implying the taxman and state have no interest in your shipment.
