Dark Blue Boat Axe in Denmark

Claiming the tribe inhabiting sparta
Mycenae Tribe

They're tribes and shit m8.
The cultural regions are mostly accurate, and have been modified in slight cases for simplicity
The individual tribal starts are bogus, yes, but try finding individual tribes that existed 5000 years ago...

Updated name with (non-existent) bonuses

... and now we wait

i have faith

I'll join you lot shortly, once my game wraps up. Claiming the Purple tribe in Egypt proper

ty m8
I'll keep playing that game till that one until its done

... sad man is sad

We just hope we are blessed by mother nature
>tfw Mount Vesuvius blows

Rule Britannia
Light Red in Britain
Hoping they are megalithic

Never played a risk game as complicated as this. Hope I made the right choice.

Actually can my name be the United Kingdom?

For sure bro
They are Megalithic tribes. (AKA builders of Stonehenge)

I seriously have no idea how to play this, so I'm thinking Megalithic is the right choice for me. Most of the times I just play risk games where you roll for area and get bonuses by controlling cities/resources/areas, adding them onto your roll.

Please have mercy on me

going to take a shite, be back soon

This will be the first time this map is played, you'll be fine.
Anything you need to know?

1) Is it possible to build more ships on a port?
2) Buildings cost population to maintain. Does something like a farm give an additional population to work with or is that population used to manage the farm?

>Kingdom of the Nile
>Purple tribe in upper Egypt

>Kingdom
... getting a little ahead of ourselves, eh?

I'm going to join to help players learn by example. So, Dark Blue Indo Europeans in Romania
They'll be the Theods
I have 4 Population (P) and 4 Gold in treasury (T) Income (I) is 2.
1) Ports are required to build ships, they do not increase your ship build per turn.
2) The farm increases your population by 1 so long as you control it. It does cost anything to maintain.

What do all the additional tags in your trip stand for.
[P] is for population, but what else?

FUCK THAT IS THE WRONG MAP.
LB Land Bonus
StLB Sea to Land
StSB Sea to Sea
RP Research Pool
RB Research Bonus

[P:4] = Population
[LB:0] = Land Bonus
[StLB:0] = Sea-to-Land Bonus
[StSB:0] = Sea-to-Sea Bonus
[T:4] = Treasury
[I:2] = Income
[RP:0] = Research Points
[RB:0] = Research Bonus

... is this the first turn with just the wrong map?

Rolled 30946 (1d99999)

OOC: Are we using dice. I'll use them just in case

Begin removing the Purple Boat Axes from Germany

Rolled 10304 (1d99999)

Mycenae>blue leaderless tribe north of me
>99
kek

Yes.
The Theods begin their Expansion into Russia.
I will research Herding, spending my 3 Research Points
I don't spend any money.
It won't really matter, our rolls are quite small right now

... wait. Do we start with 3 RP?

FUCK
That should be hunting
Also builds and tech happen at the end of the turn.

That makes more sense. Nevermind

Yes.

we research sailing then. RP now 0

Research Hunting

Ok I think I understand
Thanks dudes

so we start with a trade route that is just like 200 BC right?... just an imaginary trade partner that gives us base income?

Invade the red tribe to the south.

I research hunting. RP now 0

Rolled 84986 (1d99999)

Research Sailing
Begin Expansion across England

Also, how do we get research points?

everyone has a base of 3 per turn unless their culture permits more

You get 3 every turn and can increase that number if you build libraries or for some cultures temple(s)

You start with a trade route slot. You have to connect trade routes to factions with leaders through some manner
You also have a base income of 2 Gold

Ok we're off.
I can answer any questions that people have pop up.
Future mupdates should be faster, as I won't be eating.

cool, also make sure you change the attribution on the map to yourself

Continue the push into Russia, and get to the Black Sea?
?

Finish removing Purple from Germany. If I can use spills to sail, sail to Sweden and remove Purple from Sweden. If not, begin removing Red from Germany

Reseach Hunting (RP back to 0)
Build a Port (T=6-3=3 now)
Mycenae>keep attacking northward
>Rules created or edited by Wessex
not Caesar

Rolled 965622 (1d999999)

Take more of England
Research Hunting

Everyone should use dice because GETs are predictable on slower boards like Veeky Forums

>Build a Port
Need a city first, bro

yeah so predictable we all got shit rolls

Rolled 67008 (1d99999)

Continue to remove the reds.

I research Agriculture and don't spend any money.

Tribe of Ibers, that blue one in Spain/Portugal
I don't know which region that belongs in

fixed

Megalithic

fixing pop for next turn (and adding the RP for the hell of it)

Rolled 10322 (1d99999)

Attack the purple tribe
How does the population growth work? I don't think I see it here

Certain Techs, Buildings and Improvements increase your population

good shit
youtube.com/watch?v=zgE-hGNy2W0

That's part of why Farms, Pastures and Fishing boats are so good. At this point it can be greatly beneficial to start building up some farms to get some Pops

Research Advanced Sailing

Sail to Sweden and remove Purple

Research Herding now
Continue conquering Red around the Black Sea in Russia

Research Agriculture
Mycenae>keep at blue to the north (RP= 3-3=0)

Rolled 811183 (1d999999)

Research Agriculture
conquer england

Rolled 96728 (1d99999)

Keep attacking purple
Research hunting
RP: 6-3=3

Conquer the blue tribe in Sinai

Research sailing

RP:3-3+0
How much do farms cost to build?

>ship
dont you need a ship to sail

I start with one

look at the bottom right table for such questions
sweet, didnt look. doesnt that still need a port?

Some tribes get to begin with a boat.
4 Gold
Your ability makes them cost 2 Gold though.

No, it's my culture bonus. I'd need a port to make more though.

can i send a spy to burn it?
>^)
>tfw my culture bonus is useless in a gain with less than 10 players or at least someone to trade with early

Cool. In that case, I build 2 farms

T:8-4=4

*game

It'd take your spy months to get here but be my guest.

we send a spy in to the wilderness to one day burn the northman's ship

I'll start heading towards you so we can trade.
That ability is really nice later on though. Boat Axe scales really poorly, but seems like the most fun at the start. DESU they all have good scaling.
He gets eaten by a bear.

Poor bastard dies of exposure/starvation somewhere in present-day Austria

Rolled 38646 (1d99999)

Build 4 Fishing Boats

Sail to Sweden and remove Purple

Rolled 49266 (1d99999)

I move South, hearing word of trade to be established with the men of the South.

Rolled 11601 (1d99999)

I only gain the +1 pop this once right?

Kill the purple tribe, the Ibers race across the lands and club the men to death while taking the women

my point really is that early greek culture stemmed out of the earliest western sailing cultures... if anyone in 3000 BC should have a ship, its the greeks.
REEEEEEE
Mycenae>remove blue
>claims they all have good scaling
>map only played 4 rounds ever
:^)

Continue to conquer the Sinai tribe
I build another farm.

I research farming II (Since my ability makes it cost 6?)

It's a one time flat bonus
Hunting won't sustain a growing population.
I'll have to read up on that.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corded_Ware_culture#Swedish-Norwegian_Battle_Axe_culture
Culture that Boat Axe is based off of mentions lots of boats so...
Many of the tribes can still be modified.

look up the cycladic culture
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycladic_culture

I was irrationally disappointed the other day when I read up on them and discovered that the axes were ornamental and the tribe was largely non-confrontational

Build a farm
Continue English Expansion

Ya...
They're supposed to be Indo Europeans though, so they got there by raping and pillaging at least.
I can make those guys a mirror of Boat Axe.
One is trade (Maybe Boat Axe) and the other conquest

may just that we have sailing and a fishing boat, not a ship

Continued expansion, tiles are now being improved

Not all of your culture-mates have a coast

Rolled 48741 (1d99999)

Research Metal Working

Finish the removal of Purple

Do I gain their ship like on other maps?

Just die already, Purple!

Grab that tile, and Propose a trade route with the Mycenae.
Then push into Russia

Keep pushing into the Sinai and Goldberg (tribe in Israel).

I don't research anything or build anything.

Rolled 79713 (1d99999)

Kill the purple tribe, then conquer the pinks

Research sailing
And agriculture
9-6=3

Mycenae>dark green, dont attack Theod, but make our borders touch
Trade after?
yes, and take that green tile to the north please. the one i cant

fixing income, and presetting shit for next round
also if anyone say me jump from RP 0 to 6 its bc i didnt add it last round so i fixed that too

Fixing research

Claim England
Build another farm next to the first
Research advanced sailing

Trade works its wonders on the Theods and the Mycenae.

Mycenae>finish dark green, spill dark pink
