Well it has scouts

and it has an assault squad

Its pretty fun

Its scions.
help

Help? Stormtroopers seem perfect for a kill team.

Do you have atleast 2 plasma guns and 2 hot shot volley guns?

>few models
>3s
>carapace armor

apart from being perfect for customization and making them a whole kill team of your dudes they are quite terrible

KIll Teams according to lore arent the best ideas.

Like say 5 Death Watch veterans yeah you can kit them out with nasty gear but wounds will start adding up

Mine has 10 scouts, a missile launcher and a land speeder storm with assault cannon. Good times.

Got more NL pics like this?

Considering a Skitarii killteam with the new Peltasis. They can fuck up GEQs, MEQs, and TEQs all at once! What more could I ask for?

I'm paintin slowly a kill team of Red Talons.

Their generic backstory would be something along the lines of this select few of battle-brothers upset the company captain or chapter master, and have been formed into a forlorn-hope squad to deal with the most dangerous missions. With such little knowledge on what the 40K Red Talons are like, I'm just going on intuition on how they'd inherit Autek Mor's legacy and their arbitrary, unstable and tension-ridden character - captains/chapter master are despots who have total control over those under them, don't like to follow orders, etc.

When all of them are painted I'll come up with individual backstories for each.

Basically they are the edgiest of the edgiest Iron Hands clan who were so edgy they were allocated as the Legion's dumping ground for all edgy behaviourally-defective edgelords.

Heavy Bolter + Flamer
Sarge with PF + Storm Bolter

more of a fluff/fun list than anything desu

Skittarri Vanguard for the most part, with a few ranger mixed in.

6th tactical squad of raven guard 3rd company. "The Last" keep up the tradition of the moritat, often scorning their brothers in favor of the most dangerous, behind enemy lines missions they can volunteer for. But they thrive when left to recon and assassinate at their discretion.
They are rumored to repaint their armor and even salvage non anointed gear to fit in with renegade elements but of course this would lead to termination and being declared traitor so they think it best to just keep it rumors.

I currently bounce between 5 Tacs with Plasma and a Combi-plasma in a Rhino backed up by a Land Speeder Typhoon, or 5 Scouts with Camo, ML, Combi-Plasma in a Land Speeder Storm also backed by the Typhoon.

It's pretty fun.

4 thallax, one has a photon thruster

I wanted to do Kill Teams with friends at my local FLGS but they would rather do 500-1000 point games. Those are fine and all, but become a tad boring especially when you play all bikes with White Scars and win every time. I wanted to run Iron Warriors' Chosen, and even those friends of mine were okay with an Obliterator despite the 2+ save and multiple wounds.

IG
>Vets in Chimera with carapace, 2 plasmas, a heavy flamer, and an Autocannon

Spess mehreens
>Either a tac squad with Missile launcher (aka captain cross eyes, he never hits) and plasma
>Or 5 assault Marines with dual hand flamer sniper sarge and melta gun and 5 tacs with captain cross-eyed.

Skitarii
>Infiltrators, vanguard, or rangers. All seem really good and I just can't make up my mind.

Orks
>Warbiker nob with PK and 8 bikers
>tankbustas with shoota boyz

>all these fuckers running plasma
Do you want Gets Hot? Because that's how you Get Hot.

>he's not using preferred enemy

you're funny

I couldn't tell you, because I haven't figured out a fucking name for the little shits.

>Dark Angels successor
>Hates the little ones

pffffffff thats great.

Knight Sinsistral please

>DA successor
Big Green Faggots

>Foxhounds

But seriously, try mixing up a few of the names you've thought of. I like the sound of 'Jade Hawks' or 'Shining Blades,' or 'Storm Angels.'

Where is this from?

Blood angel succesors. Edgy name for them but they're called the blood wraiths. Still ocnverting them and painting them up.

Think warhammer fantasy vampire counts particularly the blood knights from it but now marines.

Still converting them up via kitbashes. Once they're done i'll build my kill team up.

1d4chan.org/wiki/Space_Marine_Chapter_Creation_Tables

I would normally go with Foxhounds, since we've got sort of a hunting motif, but I've never played MGS and everyone would take it as a MGS reference.

Best idea so far.

I could do something with it -- like, say, a quirk in the gene-seed leads to left-handedness. That might be cool.

It's on my shortlist.

Running pretty much the same thing.

You could go with Falcons? Or Boars?

How is Kill Team different from 40k?

well, my team is still in development as I'm in charge (nominally) of the Rogue Trader dev team.

Kind of Astra Militarum-like, but a bit more melee focussed.

Has anyone had any luck with Imperial Guard lists? Should I take a platoon of standard guardsmen or vets?

Every model is its own unit during the game.

Anything else? Is it closer to Mordheim/Necromunda?

Nope that's basically it. There's some extra missions and a couple special rules but its just a quick way to play 40k.

Conscript platoon instead.

>couple special rules

What sort of stuff?

>Imperial Guard list in Kill Team
>Please god tell me Colonel Schaeffers Last Chancers are an option.

You get to give special rules to three models, some army rules are disabled, such as KDK blood tithe and you can't summon.

I just threw in the couple models I haven't painted yet and messed around with them a bit to get them up to 200 points.

>Boss Mek with 1 additional Stikkbomb, Kombi-Skorcha, Cybork, 'eavy armor, meaner an' greener and a mega rumblah

>2x Burna Boyz, no additions

>2x Lootas, no additions

>Deffkopta with Choppa and Twin-linked big shoota

>Painboy w/ Thudbomb

I have almost no clue as to what I'm doing because this is my first real game, but it seems like it'll at least be fun to mess around with

No HQ or flyers allowed. Only troops 0-2, elites 0-1, FA 0-1

Alrighty, thanks. I'll shift things around a bit.

grenadier vets with Chimera are fun. Gonna try a platoon next and see how they dow

Sounds like shitters that need to be tank shocked.

Fuckin muhreens, have the gall to talk shit to actual humans

My killteam consists of:

Shas'Vre Olu'Noh a battle suit armed with a plasma rifle and burst cannon. And due to being the only one left alive in a big battle long ago he feels that he has brought shame on the fire caste, so he had a failsafe detonator installed.

Firewarrior Shas'Saal Jai'Vesa an expert when it comes to handling his pulse rifle (he has eagle eye)

Gun drone DTX-472, this gun drone has received a targeting upgrade circuit in order to improve its accuracy.

Pathfinder Shas'Saal N'Eoi'Kaar is known for being able to aim his markerlight even when moving, running or being under sever stress. This makes him a valuable addition to the team (he has the relentless special rule)

Those are all the models I bothered to name so far. The rest are just 6 regular fire warriors, 3 pathfinders and one drone)

>45" range pulse rifle

holy overkill batman

...

>10 Kroot with sniper rounds
>20 regular Kroot + 2 Hounds

GG

Infiltrator Princeps as my leader
Specialists Infiltrators
Killer Instinct
Murderous Blows
Warrior Adept

Flechettes and Taser Goads
Spread out that Neurostatic Aura and no one gets to have fun.

Carapace armored vets with flamers, auspices, and the odd shotgun here and there.

Found someone who makes 28mm scaled M41a pulse rifles and M56 smartguns on shapeways.

Literally a team of these guys.

Kit bashed with catachan arms and legs with cadian torsos and a lot of greenstuffing.

Will post pics when I finish them up.

I'm looking at infiltrators too, how do you plan to deal with hordes?

I figured one with reaping volley would be nice to thin out the ranks of the enemy since with only 5 models you're pretty much guaranteed to be outnumbered.

Played harlequins yesterday and got annihilated on the 3rd turn. They imperial guard player had a chimera, a sentinel, a mortar and some veteran dudes. He had good throws with his mortar, but the multilasers teally fucked me up.
We basically had terrain everywhere, but not that much really los-blocking.
My tactic was pretty shit and I played for the first time.
We wondered why the game was so one-sided. Was his force too strong? Was there not enough los blocking stuff? Are Harlequines shit? Was my tactic just shit (I split my force to get to two of the 3 objectives).

lucky for me Hordes are in my local meta, its mostly MEQ and Tau so its all low numbers.
I mean best bet, charge in, kill them and consolidate into cover rinse and repeat, try and keep yourself only meleeing one model since horde armies don't have a save to survive against Infiltrators

aren't in my local meta, way to be contradictory myself.

Got a bunch, pic related is the first. 6 tacticals (one with the plasma gun), two veterans (plasma cannon and chainsword), ravenwing bikers and a lexicanum leading them. Have got a few other models painted, but that's the baseline.

On top of that I've got a melee focused CSM force, based on the DV box again, that I'm slowly adding cultists and some heavy weapons to, a bunch of Tyranids that can go really warrior heavy or diversify with gaunts and genestealers, and a boatload of Imperial Guard. With them I tend to go for infantry spam supported by heavy weapons and a vet squad or two with the better special weapons, but I've recently grabbed a sentinel and am looking at running a smaller, more elite force with an interrogator and deathwatch marine allied in.

I bought a box of Skitarii Rangers. They're the only 40k I own.

I was going to run them as proxies in Infinity (they'd fit right in as Nomads) but Kill Team really sealed the purchase.

Sadly, the only place doing Kill Team is the GW store and they don't allow outside models, so I can't run my Haqqislam as guardsmen.

Okay but with all the good shit I've heard about Mordheim and Necromunda, how do I play something like that but with a gang of Skitarii and/or Mechanicus servitors and techpriests?

Heralds of Ruin

>We basically had terrain everywhere, but not that much really los-blocking.
Next time it should be set up to block more LOS, kill team needs terrain dense boards.

Not played 40k for years but I was looking at doing an IG veterans list for HoR. I threw this together but its a bit over 250, I am wondering whether its best to just drop the sergeant and upgrade the team leader a bit.

Team Commander with carapace armour and auspex - 20 points
Veteran Sergeant with carapace armour and melta bomb - 14 points
Medic with carapace armour - 22 points

Two veteran squads with carapace armour, lasguns and flamers or grenade launchers - 90 points
Two veteran squads with carapace armour, shotguns, krak grenades and meltaguns - 110 points

Crisis suit with missile pod, fusion blaster and BS2 overwatch doodad as leader.
2 Pathfinders
2 Pathfinders with rail rifles, one as a sharp shooter.
5 Breachers, one with FnP, one with Infiltrate. There's also a missile pod turret available.

>BS4
>AP3
>Ability to get a S4 Heavy 10 + twin-linked VG and still have 10 AP3 shots from the infantry

How's this sound, haven't played kill team before.
>dark angels

Would it be fair to play renegades and heretics in kill team? All those bodies...

Odd, I would've figured jetbikes count as fliers if Deffkoptas do.

Schaeffers hits about 200 points if you make them Inquisitorial Warband + Rhino + las = hot-shot

Those marines are fucking gorgeously painted, user!

Would be a killer if CSM cultists could upgrade their champions to psykers D:

Someone ran 4 wraiths in my shop and everything went to shit pretty fast.

That's a very crisp paintjob, well done.

Any good suggestion for a Grey Knights Kill Team (HoR)?

Would Black Templars be viable for KT?
And where can I find the rules? Don't reamly want to buy the box just for that.

Buy it blacklibrary.com/all-products/kill-team-2016.html
Or look online for a scan/download

Check the archives, it's been posted in at least every other 40k general you lazy git.

All terminators. All teleporters. Even if you can't assault. Tactically position yourself in concealed places then charge on the next turn.

Or a few interceptors + shooty termies. Those are the two that have worked for me, it depends on how much AP2 your opponent can muster.

Thanks you guys.

I've got all mine packed away at the moment(fucking moving) But I've got an almost total Ranger based eldar kill team with a war walker and a some striking scorpions thrown in for the choppy/mandiblaster fun.

Should I make a Haemonculus coven with wracks, or a Wych Cult?

aww man.. I got those gun sounds in my head now.
>Let's ROOOCK!!

>Playing Orks in Kill Team tournament
>Call them "The Krumpin Krew"
>Specialists: Squig-Eye Sam, Donald Krump & Bigoted Big-Jaw
>All painted
>Everybody else is running unpainted models
>No names
>No forging the narrative
>Still lose every single game to scouts

Where were you when Gork & Mork abandoned their children?

Have anyone here played the mission where you face a superheavy?

EVERY

FUCKING

TIME user

From the look of it, KT is oretty successful, I might get into it then.
What are the DOs and DON'Ts?

'ere ya go

Thanks user, just got it from the 40k general, which I'm guessing was from you.

Kill Team: Radient Mote
Adepta Soroitas 200pts
An assortment of outspoken, borderline defiant Sisters, treading the line for too long. For every mission they take, a little part of their Canoness really wishes they don't come the fuck back.

CELESTIANS
x 2 Celestians
x 1 w/ Flamer
x 1 w/ Storm Bolter
Superior w/ Storm Bolter

SERAPHIMS
x 2 Seras (×4 bolt pistols)
x 2 w/ Hand Flamers (x4) inc. Superior

Names:

Klista
Brenna
Helena
Beatrice
Saris
Maddison
Lalika
Sunnil

Yeah, that was also me.

Boys over toys is a good place to start. You need bodies on the table.

was this in adelaide?

their kyropatris and doctrinas don't work

No 2+ saves in killteam

Which rules go well for a Stealth Team + Shaper and his Kroot?

Does "Mocking Wind" sound good for a Tau Team?

If I take wyches as my kill team, what are my odds of even making it into combat?

>Hi user do you want to join our new player kill team campaign?
>Sure, pay entry fee, do a 180 and leave, only to get back 5 min to check the list people left already
>eldar
>eldar
>eldar
>tau
>tau
> that feel of wasted money.

I have had a few ideas for kill teams:

"Tunnel Rats" Titan Guard strike force:

10× Skitarii Peltasts
Alpha has Conversion field and Phase Taser
1× Sydonian Dragoon.
200pts.
Specialists are probably just various shooty buffs.

Unnamed Inquisition Kill Team:
Inquisitor Henchmen Warband:

4× Storm Bolter Acolytes
3× Meltagun Acolytes
3× Crusader
2× Heavy Bolters Servitors

Chimera w/ Dozer Blades, double Heavy Bolter and Psybolt ammo.
200pts.

Meltagun Acolytes get one eagle eye, one preferred enemy.
Crusaders get one "Wound on 2+"
Meltagun Acolytes stay in the Chimera.

>Entry fee

What the fuck?

>buy krieg grenadiers to put in a storm chimera in a kill team friendly torunament (free access, you get a shirt or some shit for winning)
>get called waacfag and get ostracized by people with deathwatch using those auto grenade launcher/flamers and tau using those small transport that drops drones

>tau using those small transport that drops drones

Never heard of those before? Is it a forge world thing for Tau?

I dont think so, i really know jackshit about taus, its some kind of small grav thing that is about the size of a land speeder and has two drones that can be detached from the front.
its a trasport or a fast attack i dont know

pretty cool but it looks quite op in kill team
