/hr/ on suicide watch.

Also, I always wanted to know if Hiro is actually that bad at speaking english or it's just a gimmick he's using.

>/pol/ refugees flood other boards even more
pls no

>/pol/ refugees
It's like pottery.

>Close /pol/
>Unleash a plague upon every other board
>Now noone comes to Veeky Forums

BUILD A WALL
MAKE /pol/ PAY FOR IT

closing pol would probably have genuinely terrible consequenses for US politics and make the real world a measurably worse place.

That sentence felt pretty insane to type.

>never ever go to /hr/
>go to /hr/ to see what's up
>literally a 3D waifu board

>every board this is being discussed on wants to get rid of /pol/

Why are you posting a depressed face

I do not understand

In this case they'd be paying for Veeky Forums with their absence, lower traffic.

So yeah, you've got it.

I don't understand what most of this means.

Also, I can think of a handful of boards that no one would miss.

It's a containment board full of spergs. Practically a bomb that'll blow if deleted.

See

We can go bigger.

It'd force the /pol/lacks to go outside, plus it might just send them over the tipping points.

The week after it happens will contain at least three mass shootings.

because if the containment field is lifted, it will spawn new eye of terror

What do you think it will accomplish? The users won't suddenly pack up and leave Veeky Forums. They'll still be MYFAROG and SJWs ruining tabletop threads on Veeky Forums regardless.

/pol/ already doesn't function as a containment board at all though.

Unless Hiroshima just bans /pol/ism on all other boards and sends them to /trash/, but then Tumblr will start to flood us because they'll think we're accepting them or something.

Just delete the literally who boards and redundant shit.

/3/, /gd/, /i/, /ic/ and /p/ could all be merged.

Why are /hc/ and /gif/ seperate boards?

Why do we need seperate wallpapers (anime), wallpapers (general) and high resolution image boards?

/vp/ and /vr/ could be made into Veeky Forums generals.

If they really needed to trim we could merge /e/ and /h/.
And /eh/ would be a funny name for a board.

Personally I think /soc/, /b/, /trash/ and [s4s] are useless shit holes that contribute nothing. But I guess people use them.

every second they shitpost there to themselves is a second they don't shitpost everywhere else

I'm ready to turn of the adblock to keep that shitheap up and running

Yeah, but when /pol/ was deleted no less than three times before, it's members came and shat up the other boards because, as was described in a bretty good post by an user of ages past, /pol/ is the new furries and needs to shout their political beliefs about everything and call you a cuck if you say it's shit.

/pol/ keeps the very worst of that out, even if a few slip out and make threads on Veeky Forums shit.

Like they stay on /pol/ anyway?

The useless shitholes need to stay, at least some of them. /b/ being deleted would be worse than /pol/. Maybe he should just reduce file size on containment boards.

deleted /qst/, of course

You forgot that the small, niche boards with little to no traffic can be removed and no one would miss them.

For real, Veeky Forums, /m/ and /po/, among others can all be deleted.

Is it right wing opinions which people don't like or just /pol/? I don't like Muslims at all, but I don't really browse /pol/ that much.

how is merging big and deleting dwarf boards with no traffic going to trim the server load?

Here is an idea
every fucking picture that isn't a vector graphic (like fucking video game screencaps and naked women) will be jpeg format
period
boom, gigabytes of saved space daily
where is my reward?

>I'm ready to turn of the adblock to keep that shitheap up and running
Or buy a pass. It's 15-20 bux a year and it means no more shitty goddamn captcha bullshit, it actually is a good deal. Plus, it supports the site and helps keep it going, but mostly it makes your posting massively less frustrating. Inb4 I get accused of shilling

>I'm ready to turn of the adblock to keep that shitheap up and running
A bit late for that user.

You should've made an exception for Veeky Forums years ago.

/po/ could be added to /art/ along with /3/, /gd/, /i/, /ic/ and /p/.

Veeky Forums should just merge with /int/.

Fuck off.

I don't mind closing /b/. I haven't been there for years and don't miss that cesspool.

>/pol/ gets deleted
>containment breach
>fallout initially on Veeky Forums
>mods are gods
>mass banning to offset the memetic virus that is /pol/
>containment failure
>escapes to tertiary websites
>reddit
>political forums
>other chans

/pol/ is the Ringworld and it's users are the Flood.

Hiroyuki doesn't have the Index, he can only open the prison.

This was inevitable.

/pol/, because if people say stupid offensive shit on Veeky Forums, that's to be expected, because it's Veeky Forums.

Pic related for the general explanation.

It's the crossboarding. I'm practically a fascist but I don't come to Veeky Forums to rant about the fall of European birthrates.

>I don't use it anymore, therefore it can be removed
You're so fucking selfish.

It's just /pol/. I don't give a fuck about your right wing opinions or you left wing opinions, I just don't want you shitting up Veeky Forums with them.

I would buy it this second but I could never actually go through with a transatlantic online payment.
It never lets me buy anything from US.
But I'm gonna try.

Anons, you may hate it (I certainly do), but /b/ and /v/ are the lifeblood of the site. 90% of newfags find Veeky Forums and settle in /b/ and /v/ being terrible and running threads into the ground inside a couple hours instead of days like on Veeky Forums. They are the fastest, most populated boards, they're not going anywhere.

>You're so fucking selfish.
Nah, we all know how horrible /b/ is. Closing it will slightly improve humanity.

That's reasonable. I like this place for stories and getting away from all the bullshit for a while.

This.

Right wing opinions.

/pol/ is a great boogeyman for left leaning people on other boards.

Whatever the topic, if it is video games, board games or cinema, there can be elements in it that can be discussed from politics.

Usually what happens is that a liberal starts bringing politics into a thread like that, and then the people in the thread who previously just discussed the topic without referencing their politics, feel the need to jump in and counter the liberals statement.
The liberal sees this as an invasion, since they couldn't spout their liberal beliefs unchallenged.

There is a rule to keep /pol/ in /pol/.

Because all those people there are just going to fucking vanish...

I might hate the far progressive left, but when I go to Veeky Forums I want to discuss traditional games, not why whites are the superior race.

Just start shaking users down for donations. if that's enough to keep fucking Wikipedia alive it could work for Veeky Forums.

And that's why we need /pol/, /b/, and /v/ up, because it's containment against the absolute flood of what would happen if any of those boards broke containment. Like you see threads about people being "le Marxism" about a story about an old ass necromancer, or "muh racial purity" when it comes to threads about half-orcs or half-elves, like... maybe twice, three times in the archive. Every other thread is mostly on it's topic.

Imagine what would happen if /pol/tards suddenly had no place to go.

>confirmation bias

I never used /b/. I came to Veeky Forums for /mlp/ like five years ago

Even at age 13 I thought /b/ was a useless, unfunny waste of resources shit hole.

See >A /pol/ spotted it, and feels the need to spout their political rhetoric.

These guys have their political opinions, but don't feel the need to spout about it.

tl;dr: /pol/ really is the new furries.

I don't really hate it. In my experience, /b/ trash usually stays on /b/. If it was gone, /b/ would flood the board and utterly destroy everything in it's path. A necessary evil.

Merging some of these boards will literally cut the load those two boards make in half. Because now there's only ONE board, with the same file and thread limits as any other board.

>/pol/ gets deleted
>they move to /news/

Someone mentioned in /qa/ that all the porn boards should be deleted and I approve.

No it will be just one board with double the traffic

Why don't we temporarily make the site fucking shitty to use, right? Long post timers, draconian image size limits.

All the fags will leave and the dedicated user base will stay.

Then we can open things back up after the purge.

>people use /news/

A lot of the /pol/ population will just leave. Most of them don't care enough to move, they just like to shitpost, just like /b/

You could cut the number of pages on some boards.

What would happen if /gif/ and /wsg/ were merged? Or maybe /r/ and /wsr/?

/news/ seems like a /pol/ echobox desu

Remove the archive.

We can start by removing the normie boards. Who the fuck comes to Veeky Forums for a discussion on business and finance?

This is one of the few all around good ideas.
There's external archives for all the main boards anyways.

Oh, they will leave. Sure there will be a painful year of crying before the ashes settle, but then they'll left for greener pastures (or well, echochambers).

Because this is not the Veeky Forums before Nazimod happened. That already purged a lot of the old veterans from the boards, and left us with this nu-chan base.

Also Veeky Forums was always shit, it's just a lot of vets have either packed up and left after getting bored or got banned.

I, for one, miss when Veeky Forums was apolitical and just did shit to mess with people (Habbo Hotel raids, Project Chanology, that one time FOX News found out about us) instead of people trying to make it some weird, neo-conservative Christian machine. We were shit, but it was being shit for the lulz.

I remember when you could post about monstergirls on Veeky Forums without being called a "degenerate" for example.

How many left in the wake of the cuckening?

I agree with merging some of the porn boards. Especially the 3D ones because there's the entire rest of the internet for that shit.

Also merging or deleting /c/ and /cm/, deleting or merging /w/ and /wg/.

/gif/ would be 90% porn with an occasional YLYL thread, like how it was before /wsg/ became a thing.

This too. Remove Veeky Forums, /adv/, and /diy/. Does anyone even go here to these boards for serious advice anyway? It seems like asking Veeky Forums for actual advice is a good way to get trolled.

Why does /mlp/ even still exist? Is the show even still on the air? What's there to discuss anymore except which horse you want to fuck?

It's outlived its purpose.

Leave /wsg/ alone. Allow sound webms on all boards and delete /gif/. /hc/ makes it redundant.

Its still airing, they have a legit movie out next year.

Show is still going strong. It has like four movies and a fifth on the way. I stopped watching it years ago, and don't use the board anymore, but it's still a thing.

I don't know why it can't just be discussed on /co/.

>that one time FOX News found out about us
explodingvan.webm

Do you autists solely use Veeky Forums? Why would I quit Veeky Forums if /pol/ was deleted when I frequent half a dozen other boards?

The problem is bandwidth, not storage. Merging or deleting boards does not address bandwidth because it doesn't remove the users from those boards. They will post elsewhere, causing more problems for those boards.

In reality, Hiro is either:
Trolling, but its hard to tell because he is retarded
or
Just begging for money and will do fucking nothing other than scare people into buying Veeky Forums passes.

Yeah, it's not a bad idea. The porn boards beside /d/ don't really have a community to speak off.

No. Less boards bottlenecks bandwidth.

If we merged [s4s], /trash/ and /b/ then we would have what is normally three full boards of shit compressed into one. Less potential posts.

Because, user, MLP broke it's containment general more than once and made /co/ into a shithole for a good while in internet terms.

It's the same reason Steven Universe and Adventure Time got such backlash against it; broke it's general to shit up the board with multiple threads about the same subject.

Because both the Bronies and the anti Bronies havbe dug into camps so bitter and autistic that it would make CWC's cum taste like an ambrosia.

The horse fuckers were flooding and spamming every board with their bullshit a few years back. /mlp/ was set up as a containment board.

We can't get rid of /d/.

>Do you autists solely use Veeky Forums?

Pretty much. And /co/ on Wednesdays for storytimes. They're the only things I care enough about to discuss. Without Veeky Forums, I wouldn't be here.

>containment

>The problem is bandwidth, not storage
literally same fucking thing when it comes to uploading stuff
he wants to cut the costs he pays for data usage, doesn't matter if it's cable or HDD

I go onto /gif/ for porn, and even then it's just the same shit posted over and over. It's not even a chan culture there, really. It's more like an extended porn video comment section, with all that implies.

Seriously, here I can get at least a minimum of grammar competency. There, it's like reading a teenager's text messages.

/gif/ needs to go though; it's 90% tumblr reposts anyway.
And the other 10% is just reposts from threads that fell off the board a day or two earlier.

No. That isn't how the internet works.

If we merged [s4s], /trash/ and /b/ then we would have what is normally three full boards of shit compressed into one. All the user base of all 3 of those boards would still be posting at the rate that they do all on one board. All of them would be uploading images at the same rate, all of them would be requesting images at the same rate. All you have done is make the front page of /b/ move at twice the rate.

Veeky Forums, /v/, Veeky Forums.
/tv/ and /co/ to lesser extents.

I visit a lot of other boards for short periods of time. Like /an/, Veeky Forums.

If all of those boards were removed I think I would still pop in on Veeky Forums every now and then or something. Even /soc/:

The Veeky Forums pass signature is more likely to push me away from the site than board removal.

and most of it is just dicks
just like /d/

Not to mention no one ever actually tries to look for sauce before asking for it.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people asking for sauce when they could have just expended the minimum amount of effort required to just check the fucking archive.

Then there's the people asking for sauce when it's in the filename. I can never tell if they're serious or not.

"containment" boards have always been a mistake

either ban that shit or force them to live in the wilds of /b/ like loli and furry shit has to now

... It may have double the traffic, but it will still be limited to so many threads. Threads will still be limited to 300 posts before autosaging, only allow 150 images to be posted. So let's say there's a limit of... 100 threads for a board. Instead of 200 separate boards, with 600+ posts and 300+ images between them for each thread, you have just completely halved traffic for that broad subject, give or take for some boards having more and some having less traffic.

So if we took, say /c/ and /cm/ and merged them, you'd have more traffic on one board... But that doesn't matter because there would be less stress from images, which alone is a huge part of Veeky Forums's bandwidth.

i've helped a few people fix their stuff on /diy/.
like the guy with an unintended feedback loop between an anti-scald valve and an on-demand gas boiler (solution: turn the flame down and the shower gets hotter). he'd still be taking cold showers if /diy/ wasn't there.

And it's not archived, it moves through and disappears.

I support this. Who doesn't just go to sup/tg/ like normal faggots?

What about boards whose threads last for weeks? Like that drawing board.

Still better than the SJWs hanging around Veeky Forums and /co/
