What is the strangest thing you've ever done in a Star Wars game?

First for 6 (six) focus tokens.

Haven't we had enough Jedi Prince shit yet? I'm this close to "Hide all Moff threads"

...

desu, I was happy completing the trilogy (Moffrence, The Moffrence Strikes Back, Return of the Moffrence), and just wanted to use the last image I had on hand. Not sure what I'll do for the next thread, but I'll think of something when the time comes.

A-Wings are cute.

Okay then, /swg/, I've got a challenge for you.

I'm putting together some encounters for my EotE group to face in an upcoming session. One of them will involve them running into a group of poachers, carrying off some trophies/valuable parts, through the underbelly of Nar Shaddaa (don't ask where they got them).

I expect my party will likely light them up, rather than talk to them. What gear should I give these guys, and how should I stat them, in order to give a fair account of themselves? They'll be running into the party in a warren of tunnels, which aren't well maintained and are partially flooded.

Just watched the two episodes of Rebels S3. This series just keeps getting better all the time.

>Thrawn's sexy voice
>Ezra acting more and more like a F&D character
>more delicious Hondo action
>Kanan doing his blind warrior monk act, plus sexy beard
>Sabine' new hairdo and color
>Rex laying the smackdown on a clanker
>"Those Y-wings are for Dodonna's command", meaning the Y-wings are probably the Death Star run Y-wings before a few modification

All we need now is Soontir Fel and Wedge mouthing off at each other, Pellaeon showing up and maybe a Katana fleet reference or two and this will officially be the best shit ever.

I think there are big game hunter stats in F&D for a baseline. Sporting blasters (pistols probably, maybe carbines/rifles) and some armor will be fine. Pull the Vibro-machete from the Seeker book for melee. Give 'em a talent like Lethal Blows 1 or something so a fight might be memorable.

i read that as
>Why haven't we had a Jedi Prince ship yet?
and thought you meant for Armada or X-Wing.

Anyone know how big a Moffship is? Would a Imperial Raider be a good count-as model if i wanted to run it as a count-as in a X-Wing scenario?

Rebels really kind of surprised me. I didn't think much of it at first, but I've ended up really enjoying it. Especially around season 2 when Rex and Ahsoka start showing up

I was going to watch Season 3 after it finished airing but I don't think I can wait

At this point, Trioculus is basically the patron saint of /swg/.

In Imperial Assault, is it possible to deploy multiple units on single deployment point as imperial player? That way I can block the rebels from getting to their objective at all as they have to wade through troopers that I can just deploy again once they are done with the first wave.

I love this. Thank you Kevin Kiner.

youtu.be/tibrxtFn_Nk

Is there a Star Wars Mega Repository? the MediaFire links don't work for me

According to a friend of mine who hates rebels with a passion, this is because of Pablo Hidalgo.

If so, then we probably will get some Wedge, Fel, Pellaeon, and etc

>>Mfw the Interceptor commander from the Rebels Recon preview is Soontir Fel.

>>Mfw he is killed unceremoniously by Ezra or Sabine.

Christ, I hope it isn't Fel. He isn't nearly muscular enough or Corellian-sounding enough to be the Baron.

If it really is Soontir he won't die. Loose an eye maybe, but not outright die.

So now that Thrawn is back in the canon with a stupid sexy voice, I really want to watch Rebels now. But I feel like I should catch up with all the stuff from Clone Wars.
Where can I watch everything or download it in high quality? Just before it went down, I got the first five seasons of Clone Wars from Kickass, but the quality was complete ass.

Where can I watch everything or download it in high quality?

piratebay
walmart
netflix

I think all of the clone wars is on netflix

>piratebay
Only thing on Pirate Bay with a decent number of seeds is the same horrible quality Kickass had had.
Looks like I'll be reactivating my Netflix account.

I've gotten all my Rebels stuff from Piratebay. Most of is pretty decent 1024p and a good amount of seeders

If you have a Netflix account it's all on there

Once again trying to recruit for my IRC game of Imperial Remnant/Hutt abolitionist special forces.

I just need probably one more player at least, not totally sure on the timing though, it was Wednesday at 1:30PM but we can now move it.

Also on an image related note I love how Rebel Strike made the Storm Commandos something OTHER than black-painted scout troopers.

I'm back with yet another homemade starfighter. This time its a cooperation project between SoroSuub and Makeb Flight Technologies: the SM-1 "Thunderhead Hawk" Space/Planetary Defense Fighter.

Piggybacking on existing technology for the SoroSuub Planetary Defense Fighter and cooperating with a outer rim R&D studio, the SM-1 was designed to be a cheap and reliable alternative to having two different fighters for Space and Atmospheric defense. Although never explicitly stated, the primary target for the Thunderhead Hawk project was to edge out the Z-95 as the leading snubfighter for outer rim defense forces, a goal that was quickly regarded as overly optimistic as the SM-1 only managed to sell enough to draw even on the initial R&D cost. Production of the SM-1 was canceled after only a standard year.

Does Freedom In the Galaxy count as a star wars game?

What's a good binder to store upgrade cards for X-Wing in? Have one for my ship cards now I just need one for all my upgrade cards.

>good binder
How does one even differentiate binders? Picking one at random off the shelves of your local Staples should be good enough, right?

Here we go again...

a regular binder with pages sized for upgrade cards

Makes some good points. Lots of rambling and nit-picking, but that's Plinkett.

I'm trying to put together a Concord Dawn list, naturally backing up Fenn Rau with Old Teroch. I figure the best bet for backup is Manaroo but I'm trying to figure out the exact setup I want.

Rau and Teroch both have PTL, Autothrusters, and Concord Dawn Protector. I tried running Teroch with Bodyguard, like a true Wingman, but it didn't really work out.

Manaroo has Recon Specialist and R4 Agromech.

I did this setup the other day. I setup manaroo with recon specialist then fitted her out with the necessary cards for a contracted scout. Then I fitted old teroch and Fenn Rau with PTL and the title card.

The protectorates were focused down pretty easily and once they get ioned and stressed, it's all ogre.

I was not expecting Temura to show up

That's amazing and now I want to play Bounty Hunter again, or at least republic Commando.
Spoilers! But I'd have forgotten to watch it otherwise so thank you.

Goddamn.

> Bounty Hunter

Do it. That game gets so little attention, I feel, and really for a PS2-era game like that it's real solid. And it gives Jango some frickin' soul.

And then motherfuckin' Clancy Brown as Montross.

Well, there's another two hours down until my death. Thanks user.

Also toydarian old doting jewish grandma character was awesome.

Hi I'm the guy from a few threads ago who asked about Tie Punishers, Defenders, Decimaters, and such.

I bought the Decimater and used it with some of my buddies stuff and holy shit it was hilarious. I tried both Deathrain and Redline in games and they both killed well over their point values.

On Deathrain Cluster mines killed some high agility mofo and took off most of his Firesprays HP. Also the drop seismic charge in front, barrel roll, maneuver, boost combo fucked him up so bad by letting me get into really awkward positions for him to gun for.

Redline with the Fire Control System completely fucked everything it touched up beyond all recognition. Also spamming Ion Pule Missiles into an IG-88 was hilarious. It was forced it to stop on top of asteroids two turns in a row while I shot it up.

Overall very satisfied. In upper skill level games can Deathrain do well or is Redline the more consistent and safe choice?

Deathrain is the biggest menace, honestly.

Both suffer from "get focused to death" syndrome though.

Nice, I love it, it seems a bit flimsy tough, with those wings.

Yeah that's (probably) one of the reasons it didn't sell so well.

Forgot to add what i started out from. This time it was a pre-WWII Italian medium bomber/torpedo bomber

Dayum that's one of my favourites

Hey /swg/, I was thinking of running Star Wars FFG for the first time for two separate groups, one group being empire and the other being either rebellion or fringe elements. I have done multiple group games before, but never this system. Any good tips for a new GM for this game? Pic is the roll20 picture for the Empire group.

Starfighter combat is ridiculously lethal. If you want your players to survive, either put 'em in a transport or check some of the fix ideas people have come up with here before. Pretty sure they're in the OP.

Also, if you need an Imp, lemme know.

The only real thing I have heard about running Empire/On the Dark Side is to basically run Age of Rebellion, but switch around the black and white dots to narratively say that the light side is actually working against you. Somebody also made an imperial duty chart to help with character creation.

Pretty much, the system's surprisingly versatile. The only thing (In my opinion) FFG dun goof'd in is space combat, specifically in that there isn't any real skill for dodging.

Ultra-pro makes sleeves specifically to fit small cards like X-wing's.

Yeah, you can deploy a bunch of stuff to a single deployment point. Remember that you have to deploy things as close as possible to the deployment point, though. You can't deploy adjacent to the point unless something is occupying the point, and you can't deploy two spaces away unless the point and all adjacent spaces are filled.

Watching Plinkett's TFA review and man I'd love to see a film about Poe Dameron as a pilot and just that.

Oscar Isaac has the screen presence to pull it off too.

We would all like to se Top Blaster.

Is the Poe Dameron comic series any good?

Hi Veeky Forums i have a few questions and i hope you can help me,
Im thinking of getting into x-wing, i have watched the tutorial videos and seems pretty fun, now, what i would like to know is, how many ships/points would i need for an average game? Like how many ships after buying the starter box are good to begin playing, is there a way or a page to have trial games? And finally, is it viable to have a squad with as many tie fighters as i can and not lose horribly?

A standard game of X-wing is 100 points. This is normally about 3-4 ships, but you can build successful lists of only two expensive big ships or a ton of cheap small ships (Yes, TIE-swarm is a legit strategy). How many ships you need? Depends on what ships you want.

The Tie Swarm had been a top list for a long time. It's still good, but ace lists have been giving it a run for it's money... And then Crackshot came out, a cheap pilot talent that allows your ship to mitigate one of it's target's evade results, for one time only. With that, Tie swarms bumped back up with the Black Squadron (or Tie/FO Omega Squadron), outfitted with Crackshot. A-Wings can do it as well, but they only get about 5 ships (Crackshot Black Squadrons can run about 6).

Well, i want a bunch of tie fighters to start with, in the store i saw interceptors, bombers, phantom and one named inquisitor, oddly i didnt saw regular tie fighters, i was thinking of buying 2 starter sets to have 4 and maybe a bomber or interceptor, would that be ok?

The regular TIE blister exists and you should get at least one if you can, otherwise buying multiple starters is an easy way to get a lot of TIE Fighters quickly. Keep an eye on eBay as well: people sell the two fighters from the starter kit/two fights from the Gozanti for a pretty good price.

I make this recommendation to every beginner: buy Imperial Aces. It has a lot of good stuff.

All of that? That will give you some nice options for 100 point lists, I think. I really recommend looking for standalone TIE-Fighters, they come with some good pilots not included in the core set and should be cheaper than buying a new core just for the TIEs.

Four ties and an interceptor or bomber is a bit meager. You MIGHT be able to get it up to 100 points, but that would require you to overspend point-wise and would not result in a good list. If you want to go cheap, three TIE-fighters, and interceptor and a bomber might be a better deal.

Yes. More TIE Fighters is always better, and the Core Sets are a great source for 'em if you can find them below MSRP. If you want Interceptors, my suggestion is to go for the Imperial Aces set first. That'll net you a pair of them, as well as new pilots and gear to improve them.

The Inquisitor is basically a TIE Advanced Lite, though that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad ship either.

Tie Advanced Lite is a somewhat inaccurate assessment of it... It's more like the cross between a Tie Interceptor, and a Tie Advanced. It trades Evade for Target Lock (and gets an Evade when it Locks), but it still has the repositioning of the Interceptor with green 1 turns. It's a brutal little knife fighter, and the Inquisitor allows it to ignore the problem 2 attack die ships have at ranges 2 and 3.

>What is the strangest thing you've ever done in a Star Wars game?
got banned from playing an Ewok ever again.
because i played it too well

Happy ROSH Hashanah swg.

Allston, how are you typing with your ghost hands?

Model 38 slugthrowers.

Starts a little weak in my opinion but its been getting pretty good. Got to see old Muscle the Hutt.

Stealth checks and high weapon skills.
Disadvantage because of the environment as well.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/.48-caliber_Enforcer_pistol

Also this with the full trickouts that let it shoot down TIE fighters in the old WEG game.

Im glad i stabbed him

Yoda lies a lot

I applaud the makers for making a Dark Side choice that was actually difficult to not make. It's like if Anakin became Vader by killing Jar Jar Binks. Thinking about it I think Lucas might have been angling for that, and changed it because of... certain reactions.

This was the most difficult choice I've made in vidya.

I ended up letting the poor sap live.

No one expects the imperial inquisition.

I'm gonna be rolling a list of Protectorates in the week. I have a question about Fenn Rau and his ability.

I've kitted him as such:
Fenn Rau
Fearlessness
Concord Dawn Protector
Stealth Device
Advanced Proton Torpedoes

Now, the question I have is, does the APT get affected by Fenn's ability as well as the Fearlessness? Would I, when attacking with the APT at the range 1 mark, roll a total of 6 dice and add one automatic hit to it? If so, that, with a Focus on Fenn, will make him lethal as all hell at Range 1.

Wasn't nearly as entertaining as the prequel ones. Though I liked the George impersonation

To me it seemed like he was forced to do it because the fans demanded it, but he couldn't come up with anything substantial like the Prequels because like he said it's not a bad movie. So instead he did the Ring Theory bit, and talked more about corporate cashcow Disney than the actual film.

Yes. But that's just for one attack, and leaves you with a Fenn that can't really make good use of his arc dodging abilities. 38pts for a 6 dice attack seems good on paper, but afterwards what then?

Back to Knife Fighting at Range 1. Why would you want to arc dodge with Fenn?

I liked his prequel Disney funding theory but other than that I thought it was boring. Even if I disagreed with parts of the other reviews I was entertained the whole way through. It almost felt like he wasn't trying to criticize it as well

So I've noticed that at least once per thread, sometimes two or three times, someone comes for "I'm just starting X-wing" advice, and then we all give him basically the same advice.

That got to me to thinking: on other boards, when someone says 'where do I start with...' there's usually an image ready to go. Why not have one for X-wing too?

I'm totally open to changing the choices I've made here. I know one of them (HoR) will be rather controversial, but I think it's a stronger choice than Rebel Aces for a beginner - it gets them enhancements for their Core Set T-70 or X-wing, it gets them the Falcon, and it has a wide range of general upgrades; Rebel Aces really only gets you upgrades for A-wings/B-wings.

This should be read as a "What should my first two or three purchases be?" kind of image, something for beginners, to introduce them to a wide variety of X-wing playstyles while dabbling with the current meta. It should not be read as a "This is how you win the game" or "Doing anything but this is wrong" kind of image.

These things are usually community built, so suggestions? I'm going to bed, but I'll check the thread tomorrow and update based on feedback (if there is any.)

Reading Lost Stars and am surprised they mentioned and had sex. Also liked the humanizing of the Empire but I wish they should them doing good things too not just misguided individuals as part of a stupid evil organization

Lost Stars is the best. I have no idea who thought it should be labeled "Young Adult" when shit like Aftermath isn't.

Because he isn't as durable as an interceptor and will die if you run headlong into things?

Haven't read Aftermath but I imagine its because we moved from
>sharing a bunk
to
>we had sex
>her body only covered by a sheet corner
>getting drunk

Apparently Katee Sackhoff has confirmed Bo-Katan for rebels.

Pretty cool.

>am surprised they mentioned and had sex
Ah shit.
This isn't going to be good

Yeah it has a romance angle that they actually consummate. Like a sentence overall but they kiss and shit too

Interceptors aren't really that durable. They survive by not getting hit, relying on turtling-up (focus+evade), and Palpatine to cover their ass. Durability is the ability to take a hit and keep going. Usually the first hit that gets through on an Interceptor, is a crit that cripples it and signifies the beginning of it's death, provided it doesn't die that round.

What we really need is a link on the general-thread copy-pasta, that has the basics for "how do I start X-Wing!?"

Oh, it's not as bad as I thought, then.
I really was only worried that something might set a precedent and we'd have to deal with chuck wingdings trying to write sex scenes since he still has one book left in the deal

Wait, the fang has the same agility as an interceptor and one more hull, how do you mean it's not as durable?

A starter guide for Armada and maybe a recommended Legends reading list (if it isn't there already) would also probably be helpful.

>worried that something might set a precedent and we'd have to deal with chuck wingdings trying to write sex scenes
user....
