Best

sith can't into darkside

First for NOT A TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE

Is there a more realistic looking, less /co/ art of the Seventh Sister?

nope. I guess you could chuck a filter on this or something.

Daily reminder that rebels are a superstitious cowardly lot.

Not Seventh Sister, but have a Mirialan.

1st for Armenian ace

Which of my fellow Armada players are hype for Imperial Squadrons 2? Devastators sound like they are gonna be betty gud. Plus those TIE Defender models look sexy.

I'm more hype for Star Wars Propaganda. Hype for lore.

what ships do your recommend buying for a carrier-based fleet for armada

something for destroying the enemy entirely without directly engaging them

If you're going Imps for the cheap fighters, then ISD1 for the two offensive slots, allowing you to give them Expanded Hangar Bays and Boosted Comms.

alright, I'll pass that on to my friend who plays imperial, what about for rebels?

MC80 Command Cruiser.

I don't know rebel ships as well, but probably the MC80 Command Cruiser. As for Imps, has the right idea. Don't forget some Gozantis for bomber support and such.

Can someone please post an alternate link to the description fill-in files for Oggdude's SW RPG character generator? The Bigtent link in the pastebin does not work in my country. Thanks!

You inspired me to build a carrier fleet. Here is the result.

So any thoughts on Endless Vigil? Seems pretty solid to me.

Reflex grip seems really good. especially if you combine it with a Lorrdian gemstone or Guard Shoto.

Did you mean /co/ or /pol/?

/co/.

oldenhammer.com/p/star-wars-imperial-assault-miniatures.html

Stumbled upon this collection of painted Imperial Assault minis. The workmanship is not very good, but if you think of them as cel-shaded vidya characters, they're actually pretty cool.

...and then I got to Leia.

Did FFG ever give stats for the Juggernaut? I have to know! because reasons!

That one's going in the reaction folder.

Ha ha, this is exactly what I'd hoped for.

Never try to paint pupils/irises.

No, and if they do it will probably be the A5 or the A5b rather than the "Turbo Tank" A6.

Shit, even TCW didn't use the full RotS size A6.

>if they do it will probably be the A5
I can live with that actually, I'd prefer the A5 but the short answer sounds like "no"...

...shit...

I like running Soontir Fel next to TIE Advanceds. Just because their Escort means the enemy can't shoot Fel, and Fel's special ability means anyone who shoots takes a point of damage.
If I can, throwing Dengar into the mix, giving everyone 1 die of Counter(and +1 die to Fel/Interceptors' counter) makes for a bad day for enemy squads.

Yavaris, a Nebulon-B title, is basically mandatory for a carrier fleet, and Flotillas are incredibly useful. I'm still pretty new to the game myself but the Assault Frigate and MC30 Command are both great, I'm not sure which one is better though as Gallant Haven looks really good for keeping your fighters alive but Independence really helps get your B-Wings into position faster.

Forgot about that lol.

My DM has been running Sagas for some time and the players are up to level 6, and for a long time he hasn't been able to throw something at them that would be considered challenging. Any tips? My suggestion was to give the attackers a better attack bonus.

More mooks is always the answer. A decent sized group of average baddies will chip away at them better than a couple of heavy hitters.

fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/10/25/swm-draw-their-fire/

Shara Brey gets her first appearance in an A-wing on tabletop and good god does she hit like a truck.

Are CAS, tanks, artillery, snipers, ysalamiri, and/or enemy Force-sensitives still options or have your PCs taken those things down with ease already?

Holy smokes that's strong.

Depends entirely on what's giving the enemies trouble. If they're failing to hit, give them a bigger attack bonus. If they're hitting but not dealing significant damage, give them more Strength, damage-enhancing feats, or better weapons. If "tough" enemies are dropping too fast, give them more HP (this was usually the problem I had GMing d20, though I've never done Saga).

>Launch Shara into 3 squadrons
Put a consistent 2 damage on everyone in range that bothers to shoot at you, possibly even survive thanks to scatter and brace
>Buddy Ten numb shows up with Torynn Farr to help dig for crits.

Hey everyone,

I'm the relatively-new-to-Star-Wars-GM that showed up a bit ago. I talked to my player a bit more, and they're looking to be a neutral force user (neither Jedi nor Sith, no lightsaber), and it sounds like they want a story like the original trilogy, a bit - rather than the 'shady underworld politics' of Edge of the Empire, or the 'guerilla warfare' of Age of Rebellion. Judging from what they've said, I'm thinking they want a more classic-mythology style story - a big adventure, a sense of mystery and wonder and the fantastical, and a journey across the galaxy and inwards, exploring their motivations and confronting their weaknesses. As a neutral Force user, I also think it'd be good to really explore their character's relationship with the Force, and how they personally interpret it and use it - and why they are neither Jedi nor Sith.

Anyway... any tips on what to look into for reference, inspiration, etc.? I'm replaying KOTOR, and I just started watching Star Wars Rebels, but that's really all I've experienced of the expanded universe. Any recommendations on novels or comics that might serve as good inspirations for a campaign like what I'm describing? I heard about the Jedi Academy and New Jedi Order series, but they seem to have mixed reviews. The Darth Bane series sounds quite good, though.

Thanks for all the help you guys have offered so far.

>why they are neither Jedi nor Sith
How does that player define this? Jedi and Sith are organizations as well as systems of beliefs, with different sub-sects depending on the time period and continuity. Is it merely a lack of formal affiliation/membership, or is it a rejection/ignorance of both groups' beliefs?

For instance, based on the films alone, Luke has a very, very different outlook on life and morality than the prequels' Old Jedi Order. And that's before we get into the varied Force philosophies presented in Legends.

I'm pretty sure it's the latter. It's not established exactly when this story will take place, so it could be either, but it sounds like my player's character is going to be deliberately on a 'third path' away from Jedi and Sith, exploring a different relationship with the Force, and seeing it differently.

However, that's only from what they said and what I know of my player. They didn't say much, and I forgot to ask more.

I watched some of the Imperial Assault painting tutorial videos, bought some black wash, and got to work.

I shook the bottle for a good 30 seconds, but sometimes it's runny and liquidy like it's supposed to be, other times, it's thick and brown. What am I doing wrong?

What do you guys think of this list? I'm unsure of the Proton Rockets on the Bombers.

>a big adventure, a sense of mystery and wonder and the fantastical, and a journey across the galaxy and inwards, exploring their motivations and confronting their weaknesses

I'm assuming you're already read up on your preferred flavor of real-world mythology here.

>Dark Forces 2 and its novelization
>Farlander Papers and Stele Chronicles
>KOTOR comics
>Tales of the Jedi
>The Thrawn Trilogy, which captures the OT feel well
>Lord of the Rings
>The Hobbit
>Conan
>The Dune novels by Frank Herbert
>Asimov's Foundation series
>The Dark Tower
>The travel journal pages at the end of volume 2 of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic

Other possible non-novel, non-comic sources of inspiration include:
>Top Gear travel specials
>BBC and Discovery channel documentaries about Earth
>Dark Souls
>Dragon Ball (the original series, not Z)
>Morrowind
>Skyrim
>Shin Megami Tensei
>Phantasy Star IV
>Out of the Silent Planet
>Planescape: Torment
>Fistful of Dollars
>20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
>Indiana Jones
>Anton Chekhov's descriptions of scenery in any of his works. Seriously, he was fucking great at describing a scene.

,000 Leagues Under The Sea
>>Chekhov
>>Dragon Ball
>non-novel, non-comic
I fucked up there, but you get the point.

Ditch the proton rockets, grab cluster

Thanks, this is amazingly helpful!

Yes, I've been looking into some real world myth and some "plot structures" already for research, trying to find something that feels classical while also being different from Star Wars. (I could also just use different interpretations of the Hero's Journey, of course.)

I've heard good things about the Thrawn Trilogy, it's been on my list even before I started researching for this campaign. Planescape: Torment has also been on my list of things to look into.

I haven't heard about Tales of the Jedi, Farlander Papers / Stele Chronicles, Dark Forces 2, Out of the Silent Planet. Those look excellent, thank you.

Fistful of Dollars is an excellent mention. Westerns definitely could be a good source of reference for the introspection/confrontation parts.

HYPE FOR SNIPE

>Deadeye
>Proton Rockets

Swap them for prox mines or seismic charges to give you good game up close.

>planescape: torment
muh nigor

Excweeeeze me! But where is the character sheet for players for Saga?

so many interesting ships. I hope we get a ton of boxes like CC, because this could be a great way to keep the meta fresh without having to release a ton of new ships. Imagine if we just got some titles or alternate cards for nebulons and victories! Great way to keep ships in the meta.

So swapping the proton rockes to proximity mines then?

Does the list work?

I was thinking that Proton Rockets would work well for ensuring that my range 1 is not an option for people to range dodge.

Generally speaking, Proton Rockets are only ever worth puting on something with 3 Agility. Things like Z-95s, Khyraxxz, or Bombers, will always get more usage out of a Concussion Missile, Homing Missile, or Cluster Missile. Even with the need for a Target Lock.

The problem there is that Cluster Missiles will give you two swings for a point more, and will cover your Range 2 as well. Rockets really are best for quick, 3-agility ships that plan on utilizing that 5-die attack with just a Focus modification and autothrusters instead of Guidance Chips (although you can do Chips). You *can* do something like a Z-95 with a Proton Rocket and Guidance Chip, but I'd still just take Cluster Missiles or Concussion Missiles instwad.

5 seconds in google got me this

So uh im reading Jedi Academy for the first time and Im on Dark Apprentice. And i dont know why but i feel really bad each time Daala fails. S-she has a victory soon right?

AAahahahahahaha. Not till fucking Darksaber and that's followed by an absurd defeat.

:^(

I agree. Only needing new squadron cards/dials to use the older models is a really good move on FFG's part.

upon reading her bio online, this feels like an adequate representation of her military career
youtube.com/watch?v=5EXC_rjs7tg

She never has a chance.
Honestly, she actually feels more pathetic than villainous.
The fact that Genocide Kyp is also in the same books really drives it home

Was in a Barnes & Noble today and they had some Rogue One two-packs. The Death Troopers are described as being part of Imperial Intelligence, and they wear all-black like the Blackhole Troopers & Shadow Troopers of Legends, who were also associated with the Ubiqtorate. Which is a neat touch.

They're also more heavily equipped than the ISB agents we've seen in NuCanon, which makes sense considering Imperial Intelligence is more associated with military activities and installations while the ISB is more about rooting out sedition and spies within more civilian sectors.

The thing with Daala in Dark Apprentice is that her failures are partially her own fault because she's blindly lashing out in rage and pride. That and sheer bad luck. She could have won at Mon Calamari if Ackbar hadn't been there and hadn't also studied Tarkin's "stalking horse" strategy. And her proposed suicide run at Coruscant would have caused major damage by ramming a Star Destroyer into the New Republic capital.

Well damn...

I think another part of it is that she actually seems to care when the people under her command get killed

>They're also more heavily equipped than the ISB agents we've seen in NuCanon, which makes sense considering Imperial Intelligence is more associated with military activities and installations while the ISB is more about rooting out sedition and spies within more civilian sectors.
Sadly the Tarkin novel really botched the Imp-Int/ISB rivalry by making Isard Sr. head of both COMNOR and Imp-Int

How long till Scum get these?

Park Benches?

My point of contention is that 2x 3 dice attacks with no mods aside from 1 chips change isn't very hard hitting. a 4 die attack with focus and chips is really painful though.

...Isn't this Fallout?

Looks like a New Vegas mod.

I never liked the design of that ship.

Where are the rules on concealing weapons located? My bounty hunter may avail herself of a stripped down backup blaster, just in case.

I don't think it's ever really spelled out, other than Skullduggery being mentioned as the skill to conceal an item on your person.

How does someone even GET these checks upgraded? how is a despair even possible?

GM can upgrade your check whenever he feels like. Either with destiny points, or just because the situation for you might be despair worthy. Or you might be suffering from a Critical Injury or other mechanical penalty which upgrades your check.

Scullduggery opposing perception. If a npc is trying to spot a pc. Difficulty 2 or 3 depending on the blaster if you are spotting a npc

Inappropriate/lack of decent tools, shortage of materials, maybe they need a specialist machineshop, high temp space furnace or basically working under horrendous conditions- power outages, knee deep in water, hoojib infestations etc
I'd even look at something like the cargo area of a freighter to be 'inappropriate' due to risk of breaking the ship, trying to melt metals with a lack of ventilation and maybe there isn't enough power outlets to run tools or its the wrong voltage.

Think back to WW2 when the krauts where trying to make complicated combat tanks and weapons systems, they had some ok designs, but they where being bombed into the stone age, the gear didn't get tested very well, ran out of specialist tooling, raw materials in some cases and parts where assembled by people who didn't give a fuck in some dank bunker. So as an end result, some just didn't work to the point they lost more to mechanical failure and breakdowns than enemy hits.

My group played through the FaD Beginner Box today to test the system out and now we're looking to start a campaign. Is there a tier list for the published adventurers? Or do people generally run homebrew?

We thought the Beginner Box content was pretty garbage, but enjoyed the system.

my GM upgraded a craft check when I was building a cybernetic leg.

It was for myself

What didnt you like about the starter content?

She is an absolute murder machine, and I love it.

For the Age of Rebellion line, there is Onslaught at Arda I, and Friends Like These has been announced. Edge of the Empire has Beyond the Rim, The Jewel of Yavin, Mask of the Pirate Queen. Force and Destiny has Chronicles of the Gatekeeper and is getting Ghosts of Dathomir. There is also Rescue at Glare Peak, which was for some sort of game day, but I don't know exactly where to find a copy.

Not the guy you're replying to, but the Force stuff seems really bad to base a starter set around. It takes a lot more investment than basically any other kind of character. And I seem to remember the adventure is kind of goofy.

>subscribe for fillable version.

The Beginner Box is billed as a "learn-as-you-go adventure" but it's very clunky if you play it that way. Having to flip back and forth for blocks of rulings that weren't relevant for the page the were on or if the party wanted to do something that wasn't scripted, there wasn't much in the way of information to give them. After the ruin encounter, we realized that the party had gone by the hunter's camp (one of the only places that had loot) with no mention of it until the fifth to last page. They took the boat out to the lake with the island and the underwater ruin and wanted to explore, but I had to tell them that there wasn't anything there. The village and the icewolf den were red herrings too. So, I felt I had to railroad them into the temple to deal with Malefax. Even then, it felt like more of the same: a nicely drawn map of a temple to explore, but there's only 2 grunts and the boss and no reason to do anything other than kill them. And the conclusion is saving an old lady that the PCs have met maybe once.

Given some more preparation and information this adventure could have been a lot better, but it's supposed to be "open and play" and it felt lacking.

Thanks, but I was more asking if any of the published adventures are objectively better than the others. Coming from 5e, the latest WotC adventures are generally regarded as better than the first ones that were released.

>I was more asking if any of the published adventures are objectively better than the others.
Oh, my bad. I haven't played through any of them. I think the consensus is that Jewel of Yavin is among the better ones, at least.

>tfw your feet hurt and you wish you were allowed to ride the tank for a few minutes.

Seconded, Jewel of Yavin is bretty gud

Jewel of Yavin is great.

Beyond the Rim is good.

Mask of the pirate queen, Chronicle of the Gatekeeper, Onslaught at Arda are all so-so

>tfw no proper turret with fuckhuge gun
>tfw no anti-infantry pintle mount or CROWS
>tfw no smoke grenade launchers
>tfw main armament is side-mounted so can't even fight when going hull-down
>tfw wearing all that armor and a full face-concealing helmet inside that fucking thing
>tfw probably no air conditioning either
If that thing is classified and meant to be used as an MBT, then I feel really, really sorry for the crew.

Welcome to Star Wars vehicle design. When the demilitarised volunteer guard forces of the peaceful Naboo had the most practical land vehicles in the setting you've got to rethink your design philosophy.

What page of each core has the starting credits?

Should be the first few paragraphs of the "Gear and appearance" or whatever section of the character creation chapter. Regardless, it's 500 credits for everyone before applying things like obligation/morality/duty or the bonus credits from starting in a base if you're AoR.

You'd think that artists would at least see the problems of side-mounted, forward-facing main armaments on conventional AFVs. Are hover-Stug and hover-Hetzer props too much to ask for?

Especially with the Empire's massive 20th Century German aesthetic, is a hovering A7V too much to ask for?

That's a truck, notice the supplies on the bed behind it.

>Stormies as 'ablative armour'
Brilliant!

Sort of a weird mix of Mk1 tank and APC/truck I guess. Not that you'd want to be in a WW1 tank either, being gassed by the engine and shot at by artillery

Looks like the imperial engineers never got the message that spaced armor goes on the vehicles, not on the helmets.

I'd like to add Casablanca

The TIE bomber has its lasers on the wings.

Also how does that thing power all four cannons?

Anyone else have a huge hard-on for the Sith Infiltrator? 1. It's the ship that started it all, the unofficial first TIE since it also predates the Eta 2. And 2. I'm pretty sure those Inquisitor TIE Advanced X1's are meant to be low-rent versions of this.
