Would being a Prototype allow me to do vid-related?

Outlaw Star jump version 3 completed. Basic changes, added companion imports, ship imports, a couple of new perks and upgrades, and improved the usability of a few of the ships upgrades. Changelog in the back.

Okay, so here's what's going on with Disgaea. The Mana Burst thing I showed off is a general perk. I've separated classes into Features, which basically give you a specialty in a particular area. You use these to effectively make your own 'Jumper' class, and you get at least two free, the rest costing 200 a piece. Vaguely contemplating a third freebie for specific origins/species or a conditional discount, but that depends on if I can make a huge number of Features or not.

Here's a sample.

Brawler – They have many names. Monks. Martial Artists. Street Fighters. Delinquents. They are masters of beating the crap out of things bigger than them just using their bare hands. And legs. Or tentacles. Point is, you know kung fu. Your experience will teach you new martial arts styles and make learning others faster, as well as letting you specialize into using mana as a sort of ‘ki’ to enhance your brawling attacks. Using this will make you stronger, faster, even punchier. With enough effort and training, you can punch an ordinary human into orbit, use mana to lift things WAY above your weight and move faster than the untrained, underleveled eye can follow.

Jumpers, tell me of your time traveling adventures!

is there a jump that gives a hot spring? because a hot spring seems like it would be nice

>Thread #1151
Long time, no see, jc. Glad to see the autism's still going strong.

>an ordinary human
So do your attacks do no damage or something?

The ride never ends.

My man! What's going on, my Cracker?

>Punching an ordinary human into orbit with raw strength alone
>Not impressive

That's bipolar extremism for you. If you can't kill jumpchan in one punch it's worthless.

How many Ctarl-Ctarl does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Depends on whether or not you took the Pheremones drawback (perk?).

Hey Cracker_Jack! What's up, man? Haven't seen you for more then a hundred threads, how have you been?

>looks at pile of notes for a random question.
Ok. Let's say we polymorph someone into a belt or something. Then we clear that belt's item world, fill it with relevant innocents, and turn restore them to animateness.

How much effort did we just waste?

To be fair, I do think that it only working on regular humans doesn't make a lot of sense. Like, what does it do to people outside of that? If they have the same weight/mass then it should also be capable of that feat, excepting any strength, durability, flight, or other powers they may have to prevent it.

I think they're implying that punching someone hard enough to send them into orbit would usually disintegrate them if they were an ordinary human. They're more complaining about how it's worded than the power level.

I shun them.

Tenchi.

I became my own grandpa....

>Crew (0/200+)
So a single 200cp purchase gets points for 8 companions correct?

>Small ships can be stored in the warehouse. All other ships are not available to access when in universes without FTL spaceflight, but will be found in a prepaid port when you decide to leave a planet for the first time in an FTL universe.
I thought you were going to remove this?

This is correct, though this user does make a good point, excepting that any durability (besides those based on KE absorption) should make it easier and strength wouldn't matter in terms of actually launching them.

I think it was less only working on ordinary humans and more of an example. Kind of like how Arcane magic from Overlord says you can cast fire balls and shit without mentioning that you can also stop time at high enough levels.

That's fair, I suppose.

Damn busy. Didn't even realize it'd been months since I'd been on.

What's the news here?

How the fuck do you get working on only humans?

Changed, I feel like a moron. Like, legit I feel stupid.

Uh... Okay, so. Wakfu and miib/OAA ragequit, Dirge and mib came back, and we got some new jumps.

Several jumps have been made in your absence, and right now Heavens is working on Disgaea, with a new jumpmaker called Skull Slime working on a Slime Rancher jump after he just finished a Skull Man jump. DeSu user also came back, if you weren't there for that. Also this .

So.......Keijo!!!!!!!! jump?

Red also quit.

No porn jumps. Keijo offers nothing outside of literally butt smashing each other.

We are men of action. Lies do not become us.

...

Isn't that the one with Gate of Buttylon?

Also boobs apparently.

>He says this while quoting the guy he's saying not to quote

Professor Paradox used to comment whenever I'd stop time in Ben 10. Like, he'd completely no sell it. No effect whatsoever.
It's a good thing he was a pacifist, or I'd get really paranoid about that.
But it really freaked me out the first time he did it. Because I was using it to dodge an attack, right? And he turns out of nowhere and asks, "Do you always take the time to pose like that before you return to normal time?"
And I just about had a heart attack.

I mean. YES. But that's hardly any of your business, alright?!
Also, were you just pretending to be frozen the whole time?!
> "Well it seemed rude not to."
Fuck you, Professor Paradox.

...
I saved Zeal by showing up out of nowhere right at the part where Magus is supposed to get his powers drained and shoving him out of the way. Then me and Bass fought Lavos alongside him while I swore at him throughout the entire battle.
I called Magus a cum gargling leather bitch fuckboy to his face, purely so that his rapidly and exponentially increasing hatred for me would fuel his magic to greater heights and allow him to fight Lavos as we wailed against it.

After the battle there was a moment of smoldering silence, an acknowledgement of our joint victory between the two of us, and then we turned away from each other and never spoke to each other again.

>quoting the guy while replying to him

Yes that is a little counterproductive isn't it.

>Wakfu and miib/OAA ragequit,
Ah, that sucks. ...At least Wakfu won't have to stress about Fairy Tail when people start blowing up moons or something.

>Slime Rancher
...No idea what that is, but it kinda sounds lewd.

Oh, hey there, guy.

Just use the Sports jump. You can get all your generic football time in with other jumps.

>No porn jumps
*Looks at Senran Kagura jump*
*Looks at Keijo*
*Looks back at Senran Kagura jump*

Really?

It's actually not. You know how RPGs tend to have little slime creatures that you fight? It's like that, but you don't fight them, you raise them on a farm. So basically, instead of cows, pigs, etc. you have slimes.

First off, this is a message board not a chat room. Using star symbols is cringy. Secondly, I don't give a shit if you want to try and use Senran Kagura to pull that shit, it at least offers another world to use. You might as well have claimed MonMun as a viable jump and it would have worked just as well.

...

It's probably an SB-poster, user.

v0.96
Added Bakemono drawback
Tried to make the capstones seem a bit better.
Added part about knowing when Suspicion is going off and not your normal paranoia.
Clarified some stuff about companions importing.

I realise the capstones aren't amazing on a chain scale, but I think they're the best you're likely to find within the setting. If there are specific suggestions to improve anything I'll consider them.

Do you see any Alien updates in your future?

...

Oh. Huh.

>not your normal paranoia

Me and HeavensAnon accidentally dared a jump into existence
HeavensAnon was working on Captain N and since we both read Captain SNES I goaded him into making a Captain SNES drawback
Since it mentioned going directly into Captain SNES and I egged him on so I took responsiblity

So yeah we basically made a interconnected pair of jumps(one of which mindfucked ASA for a short amount of time) on a dare

Signs point to no. Mostly because the jump was more intended to capture the spirit of the movie, relative helplessness and fear. I should have just made it a full on gauntlet. I had fun with it, but I don't think it can really be improved without removing most of the danger.

It was the best day of my entire jumpmaking career, right next to the relief I felt when I finished Boktai.

Also, in light of the changes to Disgaea and the removal of classes, Main Character got a slight revision.

Main Character [500]* - You’re not just anyone, you’re a protagonist! The star! The shining beacon of hope or despair! The one people constantly complain about on the internet and wish one of your companions took the lead instead! Well, screw them. You’ve even got a unique portrait to show for it. Your weight and importance to this world gives you the ability to unlock the same potential within others – in exchange for a considerable but temporary decrease in your power and energy reserves, you may unlock the potential within others – effectively granting them the Level One perk as well as the free version of Mana Burst. They will have none of the skill or training available from beings in this world – but with a certain handsome Jumper training them hard enough, they can now reach greater heights of skill and power. It doesn’t completely remove their limitations – but that particular ceiling is now much, MUCH higher. This also unlocks the true potential of the various abilities of the realms, as follows…

This is really really good. All the stuff is great, fits the setting and visually it's great. Simple but does everything it needs and has good pics too. Thanks for the really good jump Myrm

That's unfortunate, user. But I can understand why.

Is what it is. If I figure out a way, I'll try to improve it. Most of my jumps after Transmet/Conquest seem to be much less, jumpier. I lost my jumpness.

>I lost my jumpness.
Is that a plot hook I see?

This and Symbiote make my life hard. Gotta avoid sharing my body with anything.

...

>Gotta avoid sharing my body with anything.
Why?

I feel like I'm the opposite. I've got Synergized Pair from Symbiote and bought five Parasytes for my Human Host body. I'm a fucking collective mind here.

That was indeed a good day, I was downright spooked that that even happened. You two are downright absolute madmen.

Speaking of spook, and we're that at time of season this weekend: Favorite type monster and why? Bonus: did one of your companions turn into that monster through a jump?

Oi Heavens, I got a question for you. I remember you mentioning a Baal scenario some time before. What will that involve? Will we have to fight Prinny Baal along with regular Baal? Also, will we get Baal as a companion or something? Really, I'd be fine with just getting his armor and the title of Tyrant Overlord.

It feels wrong.

Nothing wrong with that.

It's actually a drawback made specifically for Jumpers who decide to go straight for Baal's room at the jump start via taking advantage of the free reign the benefactor gives.

Turns out Baal is expecting you. Shenanigans ensue, involving Baal being a jackass and screwing with your freebies from the jump, a temporary powerlock/reduction, a race against time, quirky allies, and finally restoring yourself to full strength and having a showdown with Baal.

That's subject to change, but that's the idea. Rewards, I haven't decided on, but I honestly doubt I'm making Baal a companion option. The armor and title is a teeny bit more reasonable, but I'm undecided on it.

That should be 'scenario', not 'drawback'. Ugh. Sleepy.

Since that jump seems focused on that particular movie would you have anything against other people making jumps about other things set in that universe?

>It feels wrong.
I kind of feel that way too, but it's not really a problem for me if it's not permanent. Also, I tend to see Synergized pair at least as one mind rather than sharing.

Man, what a cheat. I guess you could say he's not willing to play Baal.

Look, you're bustin his Baals he may as well bust your Baals in responce

Hmm, one ctarl-ctarl is about 6' tall... how big is the light bulb?

The little tentacles? Definitely. Heller and Mercer both sprouted little tentacles whenever they consumed anything.
But the mouth chest? The head sprouting legs to live on it's own and escape? Prototypes never show they level of horror/fuck you to nature.

They can shapeshift at least their arms into weapons, and can mimic people they've eaten, as well as the clothing they wore, but despite their power, they've got nothing on the Thing in terms of spur of the moment, ace up the sleeve bullshit.

Vampire. Because I'm a dork. And yes. And yes.

How long does it take Secret to hunt you down in the Mortal Hero Gauntlet?

I'd figure she emerges from the underworld somewhere within her patron's holdings near Gem. But I could be wrong?

Whatever happened to TremorsAnon? Wasn't he working on a Thing gauntlet?

Of course, it probably wouldn't straight-up offer that shit, but maybe inert samples?

Personally, I'm less concerned with the Thing's physiology, and more concerned with their/it's tech.
That spaceship gave no fucks about being completely locked in ice for millennia.

I might be mis-remembering things, but if she's got good Whispers and Survival she might be able to navigate through the Labyrinth and possibly emerge from pretty much any Shadowlands.
So if you're on the other side of Creation expecting her to take six months to a year to show up, she could show up much sooner than you expect.

Not subscribing to the theory that another species was keeping The Thing prisoner?

So we've got four Kamen Rider Jumps, Chroma Squad, Skull Man very recently, and apparently Disgaea as well. /jc/, where else can I purchase a Driver Belt?

...are you trying to make an entire outfit out of transformation belts?

One more for the road. I give to you, anons...fluffy tail.

Beast Soul – Werewolf. Beastmaster. Catgirl. These are but many manifestations of one with the soul of a Beast. Whether from demonic heritage, a freak lab accident, or really dedicated cosplay – you have the features and some of the physical abilities of a single Earthborn mammal. The agility and claws of a cat, the senses and teeth of a dog, and so forth. And of course, you have the fluffy tail to show for it. The real meat of this form doesn’t come from the physical boosts and appeal, however. First, you can enter a frenzied state of animalistic rage for an increase in physical strength, speed, and durability, those it will be difficult to control yourself while in this state. Second, you can impose your will onto non-sapient animals not being directly controlled by a stronger will, potentially taming them and bringing them to your side as minions or turncoats. Things with human-level intelligence or above don’t count, but it can make for an excellent intimidation boost as a consolation. Howl with the soul of the wild, Jumper.

>Skill Transference looks cool, but in mentions needing slots. What exactly are slots, how many do you start with and how/can you get more? If you can't then can you replace old ones with new effects or are you stuck with your first loadout?
Ack. It's supposed to use the 4 slots from Skill Linking, but I just realized that since it's possible to buy them seperately, I need to split them up, so each of those two perks now give two slots each. The description of how you get more is in Skill Linking
>Roughly how long would it take someone with Master Caster to learn/replicate a spell they saw? Would it being from another magic system make it take longer?
It really depends on how complex the spell is, but even one casting witnessed will give a Master Caster a good idea of how to replicate it. I'd say anything from instantanteous for minor effects like a D&D cantrip to a week of practice or so for something like a 9th level spell. Initially, being from a different system might slow you down, but the more systems you know, the faster you'd be able to make the adjustment.
>Is Composite Magic an 'on the fly' type of ability, or do you have to figure it out ahead of time?
You must figure it out before had. I'll add a note to that effect.

>Can I put the name plate on something that has certain criteria to be met, and then use it? Sorta like Use Any Item perks.
If the only requirement was ownership, yes. If you're the wrong species or don't have the right genome... no.

>One thing I feel could maybe be further clarified is the "skill transference" perk. I'm assuming that it doesn't let you do things like, say, internalise the Staff of Ultimate Death Rays so you can fire off destructive magic at will, but you COULD internalise the Amulet of Protection Against Death Rays).
Correct. I have used your suggested language. Thank you.

I mean for a benchmark as to what you are eventually able to do in a high powered setting like Disgaea, specifying ordinary human IS somewhat underwelming. Though that could be easily fixed just by changing 'ordinary human' to 'person/ogre/battleship'. Powerlevels are to pretty vague anyways. Seems like he may just be nitpicking to start shit though.

And I realized I forgot to post the revision. God 60 hour work weeks suck. I'm to bed.

Wait please, I have a question: Does Auto-mode draw from resources (you address continuously, but not initially)? Like, if I had a spells-per-day limit, would Auto-mode decrease my daily spells by one?

>spoiler
I didn't even know that was a theory. Never occurred to me.
That said, I still don't buy into it.
The ship seemed to have organic aesthetics – very much like the kind of decor a sapient puddle of flesh would go for, I think.
However, I just checked online and it turns out that the director's original idea was for there to be an alien pilot that the Thing imitates, but they cut it out and replaced it with that weird Tetris cylinder.
The 'Pilot' aliens were apparently supposed to be researchers collecting lifeforms from every planet they came across, accidentally picked up the Thing, and shenanigans ensued. It tried to eat everything, and they killed themselves and crashed the ship on purpose in an attempt to destroy it.

Personally, I like that they cut that part out. It's overly complicated.

Thanks, it looks pretty nice all things considered.
Good luck with the work week.

I use the phoenix gate to travel back in time to all those 'lost age of wonders' time periods that so many settings have.

Then I loot the place while dodging angry natives.

Does slapping people into next week count? What about last week?

Anyone got plans for Senran Kagura? Pic related for me.

Immortals lose even out of Jump memories and skills?

It's more like: "They keep only in-jump memories and skills."

Am I reading this right, that Immortal costs a jumper 200cp and ten years of amnesia in exchange for for turning perks worth 1200cp into freebies?

To add: what am I missing? Are the perks over-valued? Is there another really nasty hidden catch to being Immortal?

>Are the perks over-valued?
They are specific to Immortals and therefore rather overpriced unless you get them for free as an immortal.

>Is there another really nasty hidden catch to being Immortal?
Yes though it's not exactly hidden; read every part of of being Immortal again, it's worse than just amnesia.

I made that jump knowing what jumpers would do there. I can't say I have no regrets, but I have made my peace.

No. It wouldn't.

I want to say im surprised diggy, but I can't
Just do that at home though

As points out, the Immortal perks are in general a little over priced for those who don't get them free. But I priced them that way because the 200 CP cost of the Race plus the 300 CP value of the Drawback makes the whole package worth 700 CP, which is about what you'd get in discounts from backgrounds. Add to that the inherent problems with being an Immortal (inability to learn things in jump, fail state on being sealed away...) I tried to balance it all out.

Why can't I sleep? I'm so tired.

Where's my Captain SNES build, boy?

I don't have nearly enough pods to do it at home

Its a relative concept of home

Does being Immortal give you a healing factor for non-fatal ailments, Highlander-style, or does the "magic" only kick in when a fatal wound is received?

>can't sleep
I find playing rainfall clips on my phone next to my bed helps?
