>Previously on JumpChain!

I like Generic Universal Monsters a lot for this.

Relatively safe spooks, an extra life option early on and an immunity to poison, disease, aging, dehydration and starvation.

Lot of the other options are pretty fun as well.

Jumpers! Post Archer builds.

Changelog:
Filled in the item section (Only goes up to 400 now.)
Leanbox can now set up communications infrastructure ridiculously well.
Hard Drive Divinity uses Shares instead of Stamina on account of V2 using that mechanic, and me liking it better than the previous games' Stamina usage.

Man of the Spiral, if you're still online.
You could, in theory, break into Autochithon's private dimension, though it would take a while due to the Seals that were put in place, but then the Alchemicals eventually break them to try to invade anyway so you could just wait.
After that you head to Auto-bot's World Body, do somethings for him(Like beat his Cancer into submission, it can't be killed), then go find his Fetich soul and ask a favor.

It would take a bit of cajoling since Auto-bot doesn't trust easily, not after how many times he's been burned, but it can be done.

Last Time on Restarted Chain!
The Jumper experienced the thrill of being clothing in Kill La Kill. Raven was not amused at just how much skin she was forced to reveal.

This Time!
WW2, Harem mode activated.

Jump 11: Ring of Red

Raven: What is this?
Jumper: It's an alternate history World War 2 era Jump based on a video game.
Wakana: Alternate history?
J: Yeah, they invented diesel-powered mecha instead of regular tanks.
R: This is starting to become a trend. It's always more fighting with you.

J: But... they're all...
> "Welcome to Project Valkyrie, an experimental unit testing the capabilities of a mostly all-female unit in the field during a crisis scenario."
J: You've turned this into a harem anime, haven't you?
> "I don't know what you're talking about. Now, go meet your commanding officer. She's /very/ interested in getting to know you better."
J: *Multidimensional curse words*
> "You're welcome!"

Story Time:

Don't look at me like that, I didn't ask for this. All I wanted to do was kick Hitler in the nuts a few dozen times and learn how to build and pilot giant, dissed-powered tanks. I mean, I knew it was going to come with all the horrors of war, but after Fallout and Imawabi No Dakini I was developing a thick skin to blood and battle. Besides, my interference could turn things for the better, maybe even prevent a lot of destruction. It was that last twist at the end that really got to me.

[2/?]

What about a drawback you against the world but diplomacy is not impossible after a few years

>Raven was not amused at just how much skin she was forced to reveal.
Wait, what?

Kill la Kill.

Nuuuuuudist Beeeeeach.

Anyone familiar with Jade Cocoon at all? The Silk Farm says you can't put in anything that's intelligent and you can't lobotomize them so they're not intelligent, but what if there wasn't anything to lobotomize? Clones can be grown without any sort of intellect, the manor in SMT summons monsters without any consciousness to begin with, and there's other methods like using E.V.O. to evolve something into a beast. So are those methods okay or is the Silk Farm not worth it?

Project Valkyrie was exactly what the Coordinator had promised. It was an a unit consisting mostly of females designed to test how they could hold up during the stresses of war. There hadn't been time to train an entirely female unit before D-Day, so a number of men had been added to fill in gaps. Mostly in support roles, though several pilots and soldier squads were also male. Still, I felt outnumbered in a way that had nothing to do with the Germans lining the shore as we sat hunkered down in the landing boats.

As one of the few members of the unit capable of completely rebuilding AFWs in the field, I was assigned to help crew Captain Silke's Mythic. The less experienced crews were placed closer to the battlefield. It made sense, in a cold, calculating sort of way. But as the voice crackling over the radio explained our strategy for the day, I came to understand that Major Lina was just such a woman. Our unit was smaller than most, but given a larger compliment of the newly developed American AFWs to help make up for that. The wide variety of those issued only served to accent how experimental Project Valkyrie really was.

Without spending hours pouring over all the details, taking the beach itself proved complicated. Yamato hit the field and immediately caused problems with his necromanctic tendencies. It frightened our own forces as much as the Germans to see the dead shamble back up and continue charging. We still managed to create a foothold on our section of the beach, in the end, but Yamato was told not to use those powers again in general battle.

[3/?]

It was a Punishment Jump for me, so the Coordinator thought it would be amusing to force me to take Sunday Best, then force Raven to wear me. The casual look was a nice, if emo-ish, style dress, but the battle mode was mostly a fishnet stocking body suit with plates of armor strapped at the shoulders and arms.

I'm aware of Kill la Kill, just the thought of Raven in either a Kamui or Nudist Beach clothing made by brain need to reboot.

>>Raven was not amused at just how much skin she was forced to reveal.
>Wait, what?
With great power comes great exhibitionism.

I had very little to do with concocting battle strategy, despite all the time I spent around Major Lina. I was the de factor Head Mechanic and she was always especially interested in getting details from me, personally. I was uncomfortable with all the attention, considering her personality, especially when she dropped hints that it could very easily turn unprofessional in nature. It did not help that two of the pilots and a squad leader waded into the fray, each of them urged on by my dedicated assistant and sassy gay black brother in arms, Jerald.

Raven, Wakana, and Yamato seemed content to watch the show unfold this time around, laughing and poking fun at me during our small windows of down time inside the Warehouse.

The war progressed steadily, but our unit performed no major heroics worthy of note until near the end of the war. I “intercepted” a vital piece of information about the location of Hitler and his secret underground bunker from a German courier found dead in the field. With this knowledge in hand, Major Lina wanted to strike a decisive blow to the German morale and assembled a small task force to sneak behind enemy lines to capture the dictator.

I was brought along because of my heavily Germanic looks and ability to speak the language fluently. Captain Silke and Olivia were also sent along, both able to pass for young men given a little disguising. Neither were very flattered by the roundabout mention of their lack of assets. I also insisted that Yamato and Raven came along, the former to act as another male officer and the latter because of her impressive stealth skills.

To the guy making the Hercules jump, will it include stuff from the TV series?

Canon was confusing, maybe as a drawback?

The five of us set out for Berlin, racing to reach it ahead of the Russian Forces. We made it just as the first shells were starting to fall on the city. We used the chaos as cover to infiltrate, only to have several shells land nearby. I woke up the next morning in a make-shift German triage tent among the dying, the screaming, and so much blood. The gash on my forehead was deep, but was just a flesh wound. Raven has taken a few pieces of shrapnel to the left shoulder, while Silke was sporting a patch over one eye and Olivia had a broken leg. Yamato was the only one of us to come out with just scrapes and bruises.

Getting out of the medical tent proved to be less difficult than I had assumed. Everyone was far too busy to pay much attention to those still able to move under their own power. A little bit of healing magic fixed up the worst of the damage. Silke's eye was beyond saving, but at least we could stop the pain. For some reasons, she maintained an impressive scar that ran from the middle of her forehead, over her eye, and ended in the middle of her cheek. I have no idea why the magic left her with a scar but we had very little time for questions.

Yamato was given full leave to “have fun”, in part as a distraction while we hunted for the bunker. Finding Hitler and Eva and sneaking them back out of town proved to be almost too easy once Raven and I flexed our magical powers a bit. Major Lina was less than thrilled at us having left Yamato behind, but given the radio chatter everyone was picking up from Berlin, the lovable necromancer dog spirit was still tearing armies on both sides of the conflict several new anuses.

He rejoined us a few weeks later, looking extremely pleased with himself. I yelled at him a bit to take it down a few notches, but I couldn't stay mad at him. His puppy dog eyes were a force to be envied across universes.

[5/?]

>CCDT is a fiat-immunity powerwanker
not surprising.

>an extra life option
See, I'm undecided on if this option is worth it for me.

Like, the fact that there's no telling how long it'll take for you to come back, potentially years at the extreme end, is kind of a deal-killer, and the "dread rituals" needed for you to come back faster send up red flags for a good person like me.

After the war in Europe was mostly solved, Project Valkyrie received fresh troops, a dozen or so more AFWs, and then was shipped off to Japan to take part in Operation Downfall. It was a bloody, brutal conflict, but Major Lina had a flare of tactics like no other. She knew our capabilities better than we did and used all of us to our maximum advantage. Surprisingly, she didn't ask too many questions about our extradimensional abilities, just rolled them into her strategy. Yamato was especially encouraged to flex his powers as the losses on all sides mounted.

Raven and I were mostly benched, as our teleportation and healing abilities were more useful on the back lines. My own mechanical expertise was key in keeping our AFWs functions after weeks of punishing battle. The Harem anime did get put on hold during our time in Japan. Just imagine how intense the fighting has to be for that to be the case. None of us had the additional energy to waste of shenanigans during our months there. Even Major Lina could be seen in the mechanics bay most nights, adding her own skills with a wrench wherever they were needed.

In the end, we were not able to prevent the stalemate I knew history had in store. Japan was divided into North and South. Soldiers on all sides gratefully took the time to set down their weapons for a moment and laugh again. Project Valkyrie was awarded a number of honors for bravery, valor, and unexpected skill where others faltered.

[6/7]

Question for anyone who grabbed Themed Powers from the Skullgirls jump, what themes did you all pick? I'm really curious to hear what other people where able to think of and how they manifested.

What can mummies we make from shaman king do?

Most of us took the chance to retire from the unit, letting fresh faces slip into the spots of honor. Raven, Wakana, and I retired from combat back to the US, founding our own AFW research and development company. The American military was still throwing cash at anyone capable of developing new innovations on the technology and, believe me, I had a number of them. Yamato stayed in the military as a "Specialist", which meant the military at large knew of his necromantic talents and had no interest in letting him off the battlefield.

Captain Beverly and Silke also stayed with the military, but shifted into non-combat roles. Beverly turned out to make a highly capable intelligence officer and Silke settled on training Pilots. Both seemed quite happy with their new roles. We still talk occasionally and they visit on holidays. Jerald was given a cushy position in my new company, but turned it down to work on the floor as Head of Assembly. His practical jokes are all but legendary. He has been banned from the Christmas Party though, after that fiasco last year.

Major Lina? Oh, she stuck around. Got a degree in business and is now applying her skills at tactics to accounting and public relations, neither of which I excel at. She's the face of the Company while I'm the brain. She is /quite/ happy at the amount of time we get to spend together now. Late nights and long business trips.

That's all I'm going to say about that.

In the end, Major Lina decided to join our group. For how long is uncertain, but she makes a nice addition. At the very least she manages to keep Yamato and me in line.

Next Time on Restarted Chain!
Archer and company are in for a rude awakening when a talented new spy agency opens up across the street.

Punch people and then use their bandages to soak up the blood.

>new spy agency opens up across the street.
What's the cover? A competing Laundromat?

Actually, I was thinking of buying out that Irish Pub Archer and the gang always drink at and using /that/ as the cover. I may open up a regular Wash and Fold across the street and make them all think that's where the real spy agency is set up though.

Because if you don't go into Archer and do things like that, you're doing the Jump wrong.

Eh. Maybe? I feel like that'd have to be a CPU Only drawback, and I don't really like those.

I guess because I took the undead background I read it as being able to come back by merit of only being slightly deader than I was before but not quite dead enough to end the chain.

The "wank" part of powerwanking is the bit where you houserule, misinterpret or go against the spirit of a perk which I don't really think I'm doing here.

As I see it it's a relatively limited (as you have to wait to come back and could more easily be destroyed for that time) but appropriately fluffed extra life perk. I mean if the jumpmaker thinks I've gotten the wrong end of the stick and the perk really does leave you more than mostly dead then I'd love to hear it as I'd probably retcon the build.

Difficult to say really. Usually a few years between sequel and original but the Universal monster movies quite often had the sequel set almost immediately after the original.

Bride of Frankenstein more or less has the monster instantly popping up and choking a dude.

Probably varies.

It doesn't have to be cpu only

Nyx isn't canon per se, he's suggested in some books and negated in others, and a lot of the books give his powers to Luna. Basically he's either an idea they had but then abandoned, or one guy wrote about him in one book and nobody else agreed with him so they decided he didn't exist.

A) the guy calling you a wanker is bait. B) pretty sure off of his previous patterns that he's calling you a wanker for daring to say that the undead are immune to all those things. You know, the things that are only concerns for living beings.

I think he's off whatever probation they had him on, sadly. That or day mod is an idiot.

After you've built your sky spanning structure, after you've defeated your enemies, after you've uplifted whole species... when you've done all that, how do you relax afterward?

Jumpers: tell me your tales of rest, relaxation, and indulgence!

I mean, it wouldn't surprise me at all if that were the case. Exalted is anything but consistent. Just an odd bit of lore related to the question so I thought it worth including.

Nyx is definitely weird.

For those that don't know, Nyx's story is basically that his sisters tried to seduce him so he'd go over to their side (pulling a Luna basically), and when that failed they basically drove him insane, lobotomized him, then bound him to the loom to serve his function without being able to rat them out. Now he fucks fate up sometimes out of blind insanity.

But only one book involves him and most others contradict it so nobody has to let that be canon unless you really want to.

Parties are always a great way to celebrate and relax after a hard won fight/achievement. I invite all my friends and companions, and friendly enemies/rivals if I have those as well, and we all just have fun. Dancing, eating good food, listening to good music, hanging out with friends and family, just celebrating being alive.

If a Stand Arrow hits Anubis does he awaken or go Requiem

I think if it hits the sword it'll awaken and it has to hit the stand whilst active to go Requiem.

I'm a big fan of music, mostly live but canned works too. So putting on a show or going to see a show is great. Plus, show always put people in an ... adventurous mood, so your webm isn't all that inappropriate.

Waifu+perception filter=fun

I companion build.

Most of the reason I do this is because I can't do everything and division of labor just makes sense, I enjoy having a group of people dedicated to enacting my will, and I enjoy being in charge of a highly skills group. Those reasons also apply for less work related activities as well.

My most recent casual escapade involved taking one of my alt forms and just roaming around the deep ocean doing whatever the fuck I want.

Also fucking with marine biologists by reenacting the Bloop and appearing just enough for a couple guys to get really blurry pictures of me. I couldn't resist.

What would he even get in either case?

Perhaps as Awaken ability he can manifest a body to wield himself with?

No clue it's got one of the most powerful abilities already.

If a Stand Arrow hits a zanpakutou, does it unlock Bankai?

So, in place of studying for exams, I'm going to start working on my next jump.

Now, when I posted the WIP before, some discussion led to me deciding to split the DC Mystic jump in half. The question is, should I make the Occult half a Justice League Dark jump or a more general DC Occult one?

Thoughts?

JLD sounds good, mane.

Could you explain exactly what the differences would be between Generic DC Occult and JLD, though? Is JLD not already that?

JLD is only new 52 and is nowhere near close to covering all of DC's magic shit. So it'll be easier to have a more cohesive jump, but there'll be a ton of stuff from the greater mystic side of DC that won't really be offered or represented.

Ah. In that case, I'd rather have a more cohesive jump than something that dips into everything, senpai.

A more general occult one would be my preference, that is what the occult options in the WIP looked like anyway.

No it gets it's stand dude. Hopefully the spirit within the sword has enough fighting spirit.

JLD sounds my style.

Yeah, I would prefer specific over General. Maybe an option to put you in Pre-New52 DC, for people that just want to muck around with Plots and Characters from that setting? Up until we get a proper Jump for that part of DC (if we get one at all)?

Isn't New 52 got Batgod and other various big bads running around in it? Can't remember.

A Generic occult, I'd say, given that the other half is a generic mythic.

Question, would the magic based Green Lantern ring be in the Mythic or the Occult/JLD? Because that was really fucking cool.

Jumpers! When was the last time your companions embarrassed you in public, because of a misunderstanding about the culture of the current jump you're in?

The star heart? ...I want that now.

JLD please

So, wait. Now my Zanpakutou has a stand and I have a stand are they the same stand? Cause my Zanpakutou is just my own powers actualized through the unique 'blank Hollow' that is the Zanpakutou's original state. So it's my power... how does this work?

I haven't really kept up with most of New 52. I think the Big 3 accidentally tapped into the Source and became New Gods or something?

The Star Heart would be in the Occult jump. Probably won't be in JLD. I'm not even sure the Starheart exists the New 52. I think the only time Alan Scott appeared was as a gay guy on Earth Two who tapped into the earth's life force or something.

It wasn't the /full/ Starheart. That would be crazy powerful, since that's essentially an entire universe's worth of magic and can put you on par with Skyfathers if you can control it. But yeah, I had offered a "Starheart Shard".

Your Zanpakutou might be a part of your soul, but it is it's own being with it's own personality, which is why some Shinigami and their Zanpakutou really don't get along.
Makes sense that the sword could have it's own separate, though related, Stand.

Ah that'd be cool. Kinda like how the World and Star Platinum were similar because of Dio being in Jojo's body?

>The Star Heart would be in the Occult jump. Probably won't be in JLD.
Definitely want a general Occult jump then.

The World is Dio's Stand, Jonathan's Stand is a better version of Purple Hermit, Joseph's Stand.

I'm and I'm with changing my vote to Occult. Mostly because New 52 is bad news for me, now that I think of it.

Ah okay then. Didn't know that.

...fug.

I'm gonna say Occult DC too.

...what's the context of this image?

Occult jump, please.

What is the best jump to learn how to conjure a horde of servants? Something like summoning out of D&D, but more permanent

>New 52 is bad news for me, now that I think of it.
Why is that?

Guy asks girl on date, girl has never been on date, girl asks sister for advice, sister is....not used to normal social interactions and tells her "after dates comes breeding" and gives her that shirt, he makes he go change into normal clothing.

Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap has "A Chest Full of Demons" discounted to the Mage origin.

Kirby and Captain N have vague 'create minions'.

I like the Kirby version, but they dont have any extraordinary powers/strengths and I just like having the extra hands for maintaining my properties and are non-threatening to my guests.

I guess I could do both. JLD could focus on New 52 since a lot of things are significantly different there. The Occult jump could focus more on the big crossovers of the past like Books of Magic, Day of Vengeance, that sort of thing.

I'm sure there's more than enough content to make then distinct. If the thread is cool with it.

I completely forgot about that perk. Yeah, that might just be perfect, thanks!

So, this was an...interesting ten years. After I got situated, I decided to sign up with the Italian navy as a explorer/colonist carrier, finding sites for colonization, and, upon returning to Italy and coming back, leaving the colonists there to found the colony. We scouted out a couple sites in America, but the government didn't seem that interested in the New World. They re-assigned me to their colonial assets in Africa, but that didn't turn out too well. The colonies would always get burned down, and the colonists chased off or killed. Apparently, niggers don't like it when white men come steal all their land, place them in chains, and ship them off to far away continents. Who knew?

I was reassigned almost immediately after the fourth attempt, and told to go to Asia. Italy's attempts at colonization there went well. All too well. Towns flying the Italian flag were popping up all over, with me responsible for carrying most of the colonists there. This made the other major colonial player in the Asia region more then a little antsy and paranoid. The fucking British Empire.

...

Soon enough, the tension had reached a boiling point. Then, there was an incident in India. Some dumbass Italian captain thought it would be a good idea to take his men out for a night on the town. One of the sailors started a fight in the pub, which evolved into a riot, that ended with half the town burned down, a lot of its population dead, and enough survivors were left to let everyone know who was responsible.

Almost over night, the world exploded into war. We were at a port in Italy when the first shots were fired. The British Army had invaded and conquered the town of Como, and were splitting up to take over other towns in the region. The army was sent out to repel the invaders, and I had no doubt to whether they would succeed. I had been feeding upgrades to the Italian government for years, so by this point, the army had rifled muskets. We were charged with ferrying supplies and ammunition where it was needed. I would have loved to see it through to the end but we left before the war could end.

>More jumps
Yes please.

Pretty sure the individuals you can create using the Elemental Monarch Perk from Adventure Time don't expire.

Do they count as your children or something?

I think generic would be the way to go. It would let the origins and perks be based on all kinds of magical beings and characters, whereas JLD would have to stick within the bounds of it's own canon, for the most part.

Which one do you think you'll get out first; Occult or Mythic?

But generics are bland and boring with very few exceptions like Sword and Sorcery.

Creppypasta was fun...

It's not /actually/ a generic, though. Unless the other generics that allow you to visit a bland world, you're actually going to a setting with decades of development behind it. There's no reason a generic DC Occult Jump couldn't capture the flavor and history of what it's based on.

Mythic will most likely be the last out. I'll need to catch up on some stuff and reread some stuff before I'm confident enough to get it right.

It's true, kamui aside clothes do tend to blow apart once you start releasing enough cosmic energy.

Also what's with the wonky devil horns?

Well, shit. By the sound of things trying to make your own entirely unrelated fate-spiders would be easier then.

Or maybe some kind of fate parasitic wasp, that lays eggs inside the spiders.

Hmm.

Oh, right, that thing. And by extention Canopus too technically, I suppose.

Exalted! Where design by committee is an in-universe recipe for failure, which nobody out of universe acted on until it was too late!

Yiss

Exactly. DC's magic side is REALLY damn extensive. It has a ton of stuff that wouldn't really work as their own jump, but I think would be neat to be represented.

Like Sandman.

Please include a canon companion Wonder Woman option when you get to that one.

Cool. I look forward to the Occult jump then.

If I'm being completely honest, I've never read all of Sandman or Lucifer.

Good taste, user.

Hero BBS has Demon Spawn. It allows you to create large numbers of demons if you're strong enough. If you're really strong you could churn out armies of thousands on a daily basis.

>Canopus
...I don't remember what that is in Exalted? The only thing it brings to mind is the Devil Survivor one.

It's related the mech-dragons of stupid doom?

>Well, shit. By the sound of things trying to make your own entirely unrelated fate-spiders would be easier then.
>Or maybe some kind of fate parasitic wasp, that lays eggs inside the spiders.
>Hmm.
Probably easier, but then you'd still need a Loom for them to work.

Though you may or may not need have to wait for Infernals and do horrible self-surgery on yourself and your demons/deva to get something similar to them.

So GHQ is in its Item phase. Drop-In Items unknown right now, Suggestions?. Soldier Items include a Trophy Collection and a location based on the MC's place. Scientist is going to get a device that can make things out of spirit particles, devices that can observe spirit particles, and a dimensional locking device currently. Survivor is also up for suggestions.

Would /JC want to look at the current WIP?

Nice to see ya Garlock!

>Or maybe some kind of fate parasitic wasp, that lays eggs inside the spiders.

Because what Creation needs is to get even more righteously fucked. Although it'd give the Sidereals finally something to worry about.
