Repost from the last thread because i want more attention

Today is the day my Commissar executed Marneus Augustus Calgar.
My Commissar joined a squad of recruits.
Calgar joined some Vanguards/Sternguards ( i always forget which one is which )
Calgars friends all die due to Eldar shenanigans, but my recruits are nearby, so he joins them,so that he has a meatshield protecting him.
Then, in the next round my enemy shot at the recruits, killed many and made them fail their moral ( i rolled a double 6 ), so i let my commissar shoot one of them. I rolled a d6 and rolled another 6, so my enemy gets to decide which model gets shot.
Of course he decides that Calgar gets shot to improve the moral.

TL;DR Shooting the Chaptermaster of the Ultramarines improves the moral

Some do, and they are awesome. They have S4AP4 Haywire in melee, and haywire bolt pistols at range. A min squad of 10 shred Knights like it's their job (it is).

Putting together the Captain for my Black Templars right now, not sure if I should go with a Chapter Master + Artificer armour or a captain and a Chapter Relic (and potentially Artificer Armor).

Any suggestions? Will probably stick him in either a 10-man Crusader squad or a command squad.

That's the reason 99% of DE players play DE. The new models are fucking gorgeous and look exactly like evil space pirates should look.

Friends want to play kill team Not HOR version. Why are there so few resources on the official version? Cause it sucks? I'm looking to see what would be fun to play with what ive got an there isnt much for vanilla kill team

DE jetbikes don't get the CWE 3+ though, they're 5+ normal save.

The reason is that GW hates DEldar players and guys who spend literally 100% of their time killing each other in arenas and learning to avoid getting killed should be less competent on a bike than guys who spend 99% of their time as bakers, potters, and farmers but hop on a bike once in a while to go shoot some Space Marines or whatever.

This one time I shot a Dark Lance at an AV14 vehicle, but it only counted as AV12.

OOHH your talking about the save, not the actual rules for eldar jet bikes which are the same for both units. yes that is bullshit if anything it should be the other way around.

When I first started playing in third edition, we had a DEldar player in our group who bought a dark lance EVERYWHERE where it was an option. He took out a Land Raider and all the terminators it was carrying in one turn.

That was the first time I thought something was overpowered in this game (lol)

You seem like a well adjusted guy who doesnt take his hobby to the extreme. You were willing to compromise by downsizing your collection and she wasn't willing to make any similar compromises at all and instead issued you an ultimatum.

You don't need toxic people like that in your life, even if you are getting sex regularly it isn't worth it. Warhammer is a fine hobby and if she can't realize that are you really going to be happy with a SO you can't even appreciate something you are passionate about?

Put your foot down, you are in control of your own life and if she can't be seen living with someone that has a display case for their favourite hobby then she needs an attitude check.

Anyone have experience home brewing some basic rules? I ended up making a battering ram out of a knight chain sword and brewed some basic rules for shenanigans and would like help.

30-5 points, upgrade to one of my cultist squads T W2 Sv 3+. Grants one attack at S D, I 1 for the squad. Saves would work like with gun emplacements so it's targetable and is dropped on squad death and can be picked up by anyone

A battering ram? Maybe make it hit like a Thanatar melee weapon from 30k? Normally that 1 attack is S10 AP2, but when hitting fortifications it becomes S:D.

I did a full homebrew Psyker rewrite.

-Psyker Powers are chosen at army creation rather than rolled pregame.
-All disciplines only have 6 powers. 4 basic, 2 advanced. To take an advanced power, you must take 2 basic from the same discipline.
-2 powers/ML. 2 Warp Charge/ML, but a Psyker can only use their own WC (no "batteries")
-Most Psychic powers are a lot weaker by default. Rather, powers become stronger the more successes you get (bonuses cap at 4 Successes). So Scouring Flame is S5 AP 4, 2 successes is S6 AP 3, 4 successes is S8 AP 1.
-Deny the Witch is not "all or nothing" but subtracts successes from a successful power. So if a Sorcerer hits your Terminators with Scouring Flame, and gets 3 successes, but you deny once, the attack is S6 AP 3 instead of S7 AP 2.
-Deny is based on proximity to the psychic powers target, but works on a 4+ by default.

Knights because moving 3 dudes is way easier than moving 30+, and your only tactical decision is "where do I point my 3 cannons and what do I charge at?" Comfy af.

Can work. Depending on the meta.

They're multi-wound, low Toughness models.

They're "melee" specialists, but lose to real melee units (Wulfen, Custodes, Genestealers, etc.)

They have no option to an improved invulnerable save (no storm shields)

They have no option for AP2 at Initiative

What they do have are some sweet powers. S6 AP3 / S4 Instant Death is pretty good.

2 special weapons per 5

Access to FNP through Apothecary.

Run them the same way you run GK Terminators and you'll be fine, but personally I prefer an GK Terminators over Paladins. (More models, more attacks, more shooting vs better melee accuracy (WS5 vs WS4), more Wounds (assuming no ID)

Summoned should have some disadvantages, like wors perils of the warp, and there should be a chance that summoned units disapear . The more you summon, the more likely you are to have perils and more summoned units will simply disapear

Not him, but:
At the beginning of your Psychic phase you may choose to dispell any summoned unit. Dispelling the unit automatically removes it from the table. No VPs are awarded for dispelling.

Otherwise the Psyker who summoned a unit counts as being 1 level lower than normal (to PM 0).

Does anyone have any fun stories of calling out cheaters?

We recently called someone out on using a 30k relic. He claimed it let him turn any die into a 6, and it was once per turn. Not knowing much of 30k, we thought it was right, until we actually looked it up. Spent 10 minutes arguing about it.

He later started to rules lawyer pretty hard, even claimed marine backpacks are 'decorative'.

So essentially Heresy rotor cannon with Shred? Got some, played against some. Good but not OP, since they are essentially better Infiltrators with no melee ability.
Sounds good, maybe with 2 Ironstriders and some Ruststalkers as well, since then you can easily expand into the War Convocation with a Knight and 2 Kataphron Destroyer grav squads.

An optimized Eldar list with a competent player will wipe the floor with any pure Tau or Skiitarii list.

Seems like the entire game is about deathstars recently.

They can put it on alone but they never do because it's a ritual and they have helpers. Custodes always put on armor alone.

It's like comparing a knight having his armor put on vs. a loner ex special forces movie hero putting on his gear alone in his apartment.

Chapters that have low manpower or are more secluded probably put on armor alone.

Hmm. You could play Imperial Fists/Successors. Bolters still aren't great. But rerolls do help.

And their Devastators do their job well.

Blast mode is cool, yeah, but bolter mode is outclassed against all targets but AV 10-13 by Flechettes, and the Hoplites or Arc Rifles should be the ones killing vehicles.

I started building up my ork army I wanted know exactly how best to set them up and how many of certain units to buy. I already have an HQ in the from of Grukk Face-Rippa and a warboss for other things.

I don't play them, but I think Craftworld Eldar are perfectly balanced WITHIN THEIR CODEX. Every unit has synergy with another and there is no true "useless" unit. It is when they're introduced to the environment on the table along side these other odd codexes that they seem OP because other armies have glaring weaknesses and design flaws. Have you ever seen an Eldar vs Eldar match? Shit is fucking entertaining to watch.

A friend offered me the Kill Team box since I'm slowly getting back into 40k.

Now, the content of the box is all fine and all, but there is 190pts of Space Marines and only 134pts of Tau in the lists they show in the book. Any way I can make a beefier tau list with the sprews I have in the box?
