So, I decided to work a bit on Magicka 2...

Jumpers!

You've just won a hard fought, long odds victory. You've told me how you celebrate, but how is your end zone dance? How do you rub it in the noses of everyone who told you it couldn't be done?

Tell me your tales of smug and excess.

Pretend to pass out from my injuries so I don't have to deal with that crap.

...

More seriously though I'm going to start working on a jump soon. I'll probably reveal details at a later date.

>You've just won a hard fought, long odds victory. You've told me how you celebrate, but how is your end zone dance? How do you rub it in the noses of everyone who told you it couldn't be done?

I have a drop pod set up to unfold into a stage with pyrotechnics and a sound system with victory music and a microphone then I go full full on Freddie youtube.com/watch?v=C2NU98NZF8o

Are there any perks that would provide a way to nope out of a poorly cast Inheritance spell?

Outsider from Dresden Files probably.

Cardcaptor Sakura makes you immune to the effects of your own magic if you want to be.

Has a perk that*

Would that work for energy costs?

for Energy costs there is an item in overlord the series

It runs off of stamina and willpower, so just get Tireless from Overlord and True Name Will from... Lightbringer, I think?

That isn't entirely correct but still it isn't really what I'm asking, I need a way to cut myself loose from a spell that I improperly cast in the succeed or die fashion.

Maybe if you use toggle to shut down your ability to use Inheritance magic?

A one up perk?

More accurately it runs off magical energy drawn from your stamina and vitality, if you cast a spell the wrong way it will just keep converting your body's energy into magic fuel until you either succeed or die.

Could wordless magic offer a way to undo a spell since it wouldn't be bound by the rules of the ancient language?

No.

what are the roles for your companions?

I tend to generalize rather than specialize. There's only so many times you can take a better at swording perk before you can sword as good as anyone's ever sworded and anyone ever will sword.

It's also good to have people who can back you up when casting any kind of ritual spell, or serve as assistants for whatever technology you're making.

Morning

The thing is, during your talk with Spooks someone asked him on Twitter publicly if Hollows only need a Quincy cross to do Quincy stuff and he confirmed. No explosion. Perhaps it would be better to offer the new Sanrei Glove? In GHQ canon Letzt Stil is caused by using and breaking prototype glove, while Volstandig has the power of Letzt Stil, can be used many times... And is also caused by the glove. As cross is not worth 600, and even the battery but is iffy as Uryuu could fill the Reishi batteries Quincy use with hollow Reiryoku without issue. Maybe make it so it is one of items that we actually CAN link unique power to? I will think on it more

Yessss, finally I can achieve He-

>nothing will happen as you do it as its a drawback

Curse yo- wait... Because it's a drawback? Time to do it without the drawback!

I meant to say it would be more thematic to have Protag be drop-in while Auditor is 200. I don't think we ever seen any backstory for Hank. He just... Starts randomly fighting and then killing in Madness Combat 1. He does all he does because of vengeance for being killed for his no-reason-murder. Meanwhile Auditor is responsible for just about every single or most of events or world and is, like I said, the Final Boss. Being Auditor makes you immune to like 99% of setting due to its 100 cp perk

>More accurately it runs off magical energy drawn from your stamina and vitality, if you cast a spell the wrong way it will just keep converting your body's energy into magic fuel until you either succeed or die.
Is that magical energy internal as well or some kind ambient magic field that just uses your body as a conduit?

Monique: First Lady/chief advisor/mercy knife

mother box: main computer/court wizard/Moral advisor

Leonardo da Vinci:fabricator general/minister of culture.

Saitama:bodyguard/sparring partner/the muscle/mercy knife.

TJ:sniper/First successor.

Tina:demolitions/the wildcard.

RJ:head of the motor pool/Animal trainer/the biggest.

painwheel:Melee Specialist/Mundane liaison.

Korosensē:minister of education

dante: party animal/other sparring partner/supernatural advisor.

Waddle Dee Retainers: bodies to throw at a problem.

Tyrion: Gen. of the Army/drinking buddy

Pam:the face/the muscle/drinking buddy/Underworld liaison/spymaster

These are (planned) roles

Domon is the guy who fucking kills people (and does distraction shit) and Levin is the Wind Mage guy who also acts as the party face when I don't want to buy social perks

Decidueye and Whimsicott Gijinkas are the people who do sneaky stuff, although Decidueye is more of an assassin and Whimsicott is more a rogue and does tricky manuvers.

It is converted from your vitality pretty much as it is used, unless you store it in a gem stone for later.

>Saitama
That is one OP as fuck companion.

The Fighter:
>Dante
>Yang Xiao Long
>Charizard
>Nora Valkyrie
>Alucard
>Neliel
>Sif, the Great Grey Wolf
>Solaire of Astora

The Assassin:
>Ruby Rose

Jack of All Trades:
>Siri
>Crossbreed Priscilla

The Mage:
>Molly Carpenter

Yeah. A lot of our problems get solved with violence.

I tend to be the party morals + jack of all trades+ face when Levin can't do stuff or he isn't around.

Colress is the smart guy who does magitek stuff

the deathmark: assassin.

Necron Tomb Spyder:Construction robot

Takeshi:pilot, gunner and day-to-day operations manager for the light of Terra.

I had a pod, the jump Has a perk that makes him your friend. why don't more people do this?

>I had a pod, the jump Has a perk that makes him your friend. why don't more people do this?
Because he's a shitty meme character?

Good to know you're dead even if you somehow made it through Pokémon. With your demeanor I give it two jumps at most before you do something bad enough to get punched to death.

I was looking at your JLD WIP and I'm just wondering what the Magic perk can do? Seems a little underwhelming for a capstone.

It gives you access to DC magic. That's not underwhelming at all.

When I did an 8 companion run I went with a bodyguard, a leader, a warrior, a thief, a priestess, a scientist, a witch and a monster. Worked pretty well as archetypes.

My current and main run has only one companion. Started off as a butler/bodyguard, ended up as a general go to "get shit done" kind of guy. Kind of an Alfred to Darth Vader trajectory (albeit if Darth Vader occasionally tidied up and without the inevitable betrayal).

How goes the mercenary origin?

I am trying to find all the good Lawyer and Bureaucracy perks I can find. I have to countersue Warhammer Dwarfs and wanna make sure I win. I have the ones from Dresden Files and Ace Attorney. What else do we have?

I'm trying to expand it beyond just a skill tree and adding a social perk

Breaking Bad has some good ones if you want to look

Zatanna's feats from JLD include stuff like rezzing someone who had been erased from existence with a tiny sliver of their soul, breaking through a barrier that the Phantom Stranger and Pandora together couldn't budge, forming two living mages with their own magical power from her delusions, and, with some assistance from two weaker mages, temporarily holding off the /cosmic personification of absolute nothingness which was in the process of devouring all of time/. I think you'll manage, user.

It kind of is when it's the capstone for an origin that should have it for free. But CJ has already said he's going to make magic free and have the Magician capstone amp your

How about a hero sense? It would help with being a big damn hero.

Beyond that, charisma perk, maybe an advanced class perk, and the ability to recruit people in a short amount of time?

Not the best ideas, but they're all I can think of.

See: The Magic capstone is fine as is. Like I said last night, you'll just need to find a way to qualify it so that you aren't constantly bombarded with "its underpowered, breh" comments.

I fill the role of Jack of all trades/paladin/heal bitch

Malefor:The Mage/Strategist
Deobora: The Warrior/Teacher
Zelious: The Mage/Politician
Charisma: The Scientist/Architect/Alchemist
Haley: The Spy/Detective
Alex: The Samurai/Technician
Classic!Spyro: Jack of all trades/the teenager
Matahari: The technician/Moral Compass

I generally am decent in all fields so I help out when asked. Which is often because I tend to get pulled along their adventures.

Because he's not only pretty boring as a character, he's also nowhere near as strong as he's memed to be.

Is the only way to get magic in the magic focused jump going to be buying a specific capstone? In the case of magician you might as well up the price of the origin and make it free for them because it is kind of mandatory if I read that right.

Have to admit, curious as to what sort of thing will be offered when you start giving physical boosts out in mythic jump if this is capstone material here. Damn that's ridiculously strong.

Check the old mystic WIP, he offered flaying brick abilities slightly below Shazam as a capstone.

*flying brick

What would be an appropriate weakness for a water-based Demolecularized? Freezing?

And I should be able to fly around as a cloud of water vapor with that, right?

Shazam as in...? Just saying a character's name doesn't really help when comics vary so much in power, particularly with older characters that have been in a bunch of different power levels.

>flaying brick abilities
That sounds both amazing and horrifying.

Yeah.

Like I said last night, I'll probably give lesser magical potential to Magicians and Guides for free.

To be fair, those are the upper end of her feats and that a specific set of circumstances led to holding off the void goddess.

What I had originally offered for the physical abilities in the Mythic jump that was tossing airline carriers. Basically upper Aquaman, lower Captain Marvel/Wonder Woman feats.

Billy Batson, he can hold his own against superman short term.

Superillithid?

>Specific set of circumstances
Maaaybe mention those instead (Or as well as) of just saying she needed the help of two weaker magicians next time? Because it really changes how impressive the feat is then. Goes from making you wonder if this is yet another magic gives more power jump to making it perfectly understandable.

>lower Captain Marvel/Wonder Woman
Great.
>upper Aquaman
Please no.

user. Not really what I meant. Shazam as in what the fuck does that actually mean for power levels considering comic power levels, particularly for old characters like Shazam, fluctuate so much over the years. You can say Shazam all you like but it doesn't tell me if this is the Shazam who can punch down a skyscraper or the Shazam who can one shot planets or stars.

The creator answered in the meantime however.

>upper Aquaman
Will it come with a sweet ass mullet?

The con man capstone is dependent on being able to use magic. Not to mention being based on John Constantine. Yesterday you even said that almost everyone can use magic.

Being a super mage is capstone worthy, a basic ability fundamental to the series and several origins isn't.

>Like I said last night, I'll probably give lesser magical potential to Magicians and Guides for free.

Those are some good suggestions, I like them

Well the examples were still freezing the heart of time except from a small bubble she was in and then enchanting as a house to hold her off after she had destroyed the rest of the universe. It's kind of complicated. Still nothing to sneeze at instead, but maybe not as impressive as I made it sound.

I'll try to be more clear describing the more convoluted feats from now on.

It's...really convoluted yeah. One moment it sounds like this perk is going to give potentially universal scale power and the next it's not really that but much much less?

Aquaman is fuckin swole.

Up to you, mang.

Yeah, sorry about that. In class right now, so I'm kind of splitting attention.

My last chain was a little hedonistic, so while I have some great stories bout them, they can't really be shared on a blue board.

I don't quite have my eight Companions yet in the new chain, but I do tend to give them roles to help them feel useful and fill in my own gaps.

Raven: Second-in-Command.
===She's in charge of making sure I don't go too mad with power or sink too deeply into any given setting. Archer was a good example of the latter.

Wakana: Jack-of-all-Trades
===It's hard to get a Crow spirit to settle on one thing, but she seems happy like that.

Yamato: Necromancer
===Not a role I ever thought I would have on my team, but give a Dog spirit a bone and all that. I wouldn't mind so much if he didn't occasionally channel Moon Moon and derp out.

Major Lina: Strategist/Support
===She's not much for the front lines. She can still crack skulls when she wants to but he much prefers to lead from the rear. For someone who can from WW2 era Earth, she accepted Jumping as a concept pretty quickly which has helped.

Not quite sure who I'm filling the other slots with yet. Probably Canon Companions. Midna from Twilight Princess perhaps. Balalaika from Black Lagoon if she's willing. Probably the unbroken Deadlight Choir from LoT. As much as I would like the bunny, she's a little high energy for me.

Yeah, see that strength feat? That's cool and all but it doesn't feel close at all to what you're talking up that magic capstone to be.

Focus mainly on crafting, but we can certainly fight when we are needed.

The Main Team
Me/The Tailor - General Support (Heals, buffs, shields, etc)
The Jewelcrafter - Weapons master
The Florist - Archer and crowd control

The Recon Team
The Carver - Assassin
The Writer - Infiltration and Sabotage
The Pianist - Mission control

The Next Generation
The Painter - Rogue
The Sculptor - Shield Master
The Engineer - Cleric

>Aquaman is fuckin swole.
Captain Marvel is weaker than but comparable to Superman, Wonder Woman has contended with both on several occasions, and Aquaman tops out at 25 tons which is far below even the lower powered interpretations of the others mentioned.

You should probably change I Cheat to something else then. Otherwise the Con Man has to buy another origin's perk to use their own capstone.

New 52 Aquaman is hilariously stronger than 25 tons. And CJ could keep shit vague given the mercurial nature of comicshit. Just say 'comparable to but weaker than Wonder Woman/Shazam'.

>Aquaman tops out at 25 tons
>[citation needed]

Zatanna isn't constantly throwing about epic D&D magic.

That's kind of irrelevant, though. The strength perk will be in an entirely different jump and will have affect all your physical abilities, not just strength.

Don't base your assumptions off of the wiki, user. Aquaman is way stronger, especially in the New 52.

I have no problem with offering higher strength, but I don't know if the thread would go for it.

I can do that or give Con Man the potential perk for free. Like I said, it's all subject to change.

As long as it's balanced with everything else in the jump, the thread will probably be fine with it.

>I have no problem with offering higher strength, but I don't know if the thread would go for it.
I think equal to or slightly below the two most relevant magic based flying bricks is a good capstone.

We do tend to be rather conservative when it comes to Strength/durability perks here, it's often easier to get high level physical abilities as a tangential benefit of other perks than it is to get them from a perk dedicated to said physical abilities.

Spider-Man Trilogy:

17 years old
Businessman
Human Resources
Sell, Sell, Sell 150
Cut-Throat Business 450
Costume
Secret Identity 500
Daily Jumper 800
Rolodex
PhD 900
Spider Bite 1500
Emotional Powers 1300
The Amazing Target! 1000

Well apparently there was a Raimi's Spider-Man jump dropped towards the end of last thread. It's pretty sweet too.

Went in as a 17 year old Businessman as that was allowed, I rolled low. Figure this makes me still at school albeit occasionally popping in to my newspaper offices.

Human Resources is a great freebie, lets you get talented staff when they're cheap.

Sell, Sell, Sell means there'll always someone somewhere who will buy my products even if they're sort of shitty. And I went, “This is news to me, sweetheart. I made this show, with my sweat and blood… I spent the last 4 weeks of my life making this show! Do you want it?” No, they say. So I’m, y’know, caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, having to sell 40 episodes of a medical-based, horror show… um, with no one buying it. That’s why we had to put it out in Peru. Thank god for the Peruvian market.

Cut-Throat Business gives you a 6th sense for knowing what bit of skullduggery will make you money in a given situation which is handy.

Not entirely sure what Secret Identity does other than provide you with a bag nobody looks in but I had a leftover 50 CP.

Daily Jumper gives me a newspaper which is guaranteed readers which I can lean on to print my own mad stuff. Good for propaganda-ing and printing nonsense and getting it read.

Rolodex gives me some contact details for people. Could be handy.

PhD gives me a PhD that people will think is real in something. Sort of another leftover CP one but figured it'd be useful. Not sure what I'd take it in.

Spider Bite is the main draw for me. The much maligned organic webshooters are pretty damn handy.

Emotional Powers don't matter too much. The Amazing Target! gives me something to do.

Beyond that, try looking at your general perks. Surely at least one of them will fit?

Oh, and another item suggestion. A horse that doesnt need to eat or something.

>A horse that doesnt need to eat or something.
That's a good item, horses have substantial appetites.

They keep trying to make Aquaman super badass by upping his power. Like back when his fish telepathy could also effect anything descended from fish, but since they had evolved it didn't work right and he could explode their heads.

I want magic cocaine powers.

So, how many jumps can you grab centaur alt forms or centaur companions?

It's because he kind of sucks compared to the other 'main' leaguers. Superman and Wonder Woman are physical powerhouses, Green Lantern has a superweapon on his finger, Flash is so fast that he can outrun death, etc.

Logically, Batman would have this same issue since he doesn't even have super intelligence, but being the primary self insert cool guy guarantees him somehow being more 'dangerous' than the rest of them because lolpreptime/money.

>That time Martian Manhunter awoke his full powers and his race's innate psychopathy and could defeat even Superman within seconds, but somehow fucking BATMAN escapes and manages to stop him.

My brother. Auralnauts has you covered.

youtu.be/gI8aSJBC9u0?t=489

That was one thing I liked about the DC generic, in that it kind of reflects how bizzarely viable normal humans are in a world of superhumans. Batman really is the most powerful Superhero when you get down to the brass tacks.

>Batman
>normal human
Yeah, okay, user.

Not the MC, but I used the canon companion options to take Dagger as my partner.

Cloak became a bad guy without her. So...ooops?

To be fair he won by finding a guy who magically hardcountered Burning Martians and threw him at the fight. He didn't somehow 1v1 the colossal pile of murderfuck that is a Burning Martian.

Okay then. Some bizarre probability warping preptime-in-human-form creature who writers insist is a normal human. Sound better.

Yes.

He is a normal human, a normal human who made some form of deal with the the presence to get John Constantine's Plot armor without the "fueled by the souls of everyone he meets" aspect.

Have Batman and Constantine gone up against each other? I'd read that.

So if we're getting a pseudo-Vertigo jump, I wonder if we'll get a Windstorm one, too.

I can't recall if they've ever fought, but they do know each other through Zatanna.

Basic Procedure has been moved to the Pirate tree, as either another capstone or bumped down to 400. Not sure yet.

Here's the replacement.

And What Would This ‘Jumper’ Advise You To Do Now? [600, Discount for Galactic Federation] – You know that some must live and some must die. Hard choices have to be made on the battlefield, and entire platoons have to be coordinated properly to be used to their full effectiveness. You are now a master of both of these. You can quickly calculate the results of a choice in terms of strategy and tactics within seconds, and while you can’t see into the future, you’ll find your math tends to be spot on. You are also a capable leader at both the squad and the General level, able to coordinate small teams to large armies effectively, being a master tactician and strategist...and you will only perform even better with forces that admire or trust you in a strong capacity.

I couldn't call it 'Perfect Mind' or 'Perfect Military Mind' without cringing, so I took a more dignified quote.

>Good to know you're dead even if you somehow made it through Pokémon. With your demeanor I give it two jumps at most before you do something bad enough to get punched to death.

Do you really think the guy who is "a hero for fun" And brutally murders people for being annoying is going to look that far down on the guy actually trying to make the world a better place by brutally murdering people?

warhammer fantasy has a great one.

>brutally murders people for being annoying
No he fucking doesn't!

Did you read the house of Evolution arc? because what do you think was his motivation for the fight scenes in the house of Evolution arc?
