What is your current character's deepest darkest secret?
Come on, everyone has at least one so let's hear it.

To kick this thread off the ground I'll start with my current Shadow od the Demon Lord character, Maurena Llaostri, a female Human Magician. Her secret is that she knows forbidden demonic magic, dark knowledge that she "bought" from a dark entity that appears in her nightmares in exchange for a promise to, when the time is right, bear the offspring of the dark entity. This si something she is deathly afraid to reveal, as she is the acolyte of a very capricious inquisitor.

The fuck? I never seen that. I saved my pic from another thread here on Veeky Forums

The celestial being in my Aasimar's heritage is not an angel, it's a benevolent Great Old One.

Half-elven paladin. Very young, mostly brought up on knightly tales and lived his minor life span mostly as a castle servant, then got blessed by some possibly-puppeteering fae and went out to right wrongs and bring evil-doers to justice with great zeal.

The secret? Aside from the obvious "Fae are just using him as a pawn" angle, He's come to really, really enjoy fighting and is getting more and more of a taste for killing with each battle. He tries to stabilise as many enemies as he can as a "hero" would, but the urge to smite is always there...

My character's deepest darkest secret is that she has a crush on another PC. She's only 13 years old. What the fuck kind of deep dark secret would a 13 year old even have?

Who does she have a crush on, user? Tell us about him! Feed us juicy gossip like the middle schoolers we are.

He's a Human barbarian. He hasn't really done anything wrong, though. His secret is just that he once had an older brother, who was seemingly superior to him in almost every way, while my character inherited most bad traits his marauding psychopath of a father could give him. The older brother died, and my character was left with a hole in his life and a feeling of "it should have been me".

*rattles tits* BARNEY BARNEY BARNEY BARNEY BARNEY BARNEY

He's waaaaaaaaaaaaay dreamy, and, like, a total hunk, teeheehee.... We're gonna have sooooo many babies together, and I've already picked out all their names, and the dress I'm going to wear at our wedding, too!

And if any slut tries to get in the way of our love I'll shank her an a dark alleyway.

But in all seriousness I'm worried other players might be browsing and if they find out who I like by giving identifying details I'll be, like, so totally embarrassed!

We're playing a group of elder race folk who recently awoke from an age long slumber. The rest of the party were refugees who willingly went into that sleep to escape the war against the gods that the rest of their species had caused.

My characters deepest secret is that he wasn't a refugee. He was one of the tyrants who started the war, and he ran away from the final battle not because he believed that what they were doing was wrong, but because he was afraid of punishment. The fact that upon waking he learned that his race lost that battle doesn't do much to alleviate the guilt.

This still eats at him, and he still carries the same ideology that lead to the war, but he conceals it because he doesn't want to be alone. It will probably lead him to betray the others eventually, unless some serious character development happens.

She's an amnesiac and she doesn't have any recollection of her time before meeting the party.

the plane that he came from died because he unwittingly helped raise a avatar of death.

I hate them.

Imperial Exploration Corps survey specialist. He doesn't really care about his post, duties, superiors, or rank. Basically just joined up to see the galaxy and uses his job as a vehicle to do so. He puts on a good show for the captain, but is only really enthusiastic about things he actually wants to do, otherwise he just prefers to coast through things, keep his head down, and handle small problems before those over him really need to know there was a problem.

>dark secret

What you already know is that I'm travelling with your group in search of MacGuffins that can find the lost soul of my wife to bring her back.

What you don't know is that I summoned the BBEG responsible for the tpks in the previous games; and that theres a reason I'm always the sole survivor. You also didn't know that my wife didnt die by the hand of the BBEG, but by a bro and comrade of good standing who was trying to stop me from throwing them all under the bus to escape with my waifu. Spoiler alert, he failed, and Im getting anxious as time goes by because the BBEG is coming here too.

The cycle continues, oh, my lost love.

>plays a 13-year-old girl
Why don't you have a seat right over here.

Wait, did Barneyfag make an appearance?

But all the player characters are 13.....

What sort of game is it?
That's either really weird, or really fun, depending on the contest.

Not him, but...

you's a funnay man.

you go to prison last

What? Are they autistic?

Hobgoblin military veteran.

His first wife did not die in an accident. He killed her after she killed his daughter.

One of my favorite characters from a few games ago had a great secret that I had to fight to keep hidden. Unfortunately, it never fully came up because that game died after just a few session, but I'm going to bring her back for another game later.

She was an elf whose whole family was dedicated to the service of their lord. She and her brother had spend their whole lives training to be spies, swordsmen, and magicians. At some point, her family was cursed, and while the details of the curse are vague, and were never made public, her brother, who always seemed to be better than her at everything, left on a journey to discover the nature of the curse, and try to lift it.

30 years later, she remains in the service of the Emperor as a member of basically-fantasy-CIA, and her brother is still missing. However, even her superiors don't know that she is actually completely blind. She has been ever since her family was cursed. She gets by through years of training and practice fighting blind, and ample use of Detect Magic.

Guess you could say he was never seen again.

...

My AdEva character isn't very secretive for a cloned child soldier, but he's worried his fellow pilots are going to devolve into deranged, civilian-murdering psychopaths and he won't be able to talk them out of it. He's worried he'll be forced to choose between joining them or protecting humanity. He's pretty sure he'd join them, and he's not comfortable with that says about him.

My feudal world DH2 acolyte is essentially a sword-and-board, cleave and smite DnD paladin. He shouts "For the Emperor!" and things of that nature a lot. He's the Puritan who strives to keep the party on the straight and narrow. The zealotry and heroics are a thin cover for how tainted and vile he feels inside, however. His family was put to death for not paying their tithe to the planetary governess. As far as treason goes, there are worse crimes, but try telling him that. He was plucked from the ashes of his father's estate and grew up in the governess's royal guard, believing every lie they told him, believing his father was nearly as bad as the Arch-Traitor for his sins. He was told to fight and die for queen and country, Emperor and Throne. He will not falter. He will not waver. The Barsabbas debt will be repaid in blood.

Game is about kids growing up and getting stronger and achieving their dreams, duh. And it is really fun.

I'm playing a kind-hearted Eclipse caste gunslinger/doctor in my Exalted game. Used to be a pacifist, until his tyrannical uncle executed some men who he knew and was good friends with. Then he ended up killing his own uncle and cursing himself for not doing it sooner so those men would still be alive.

His darkest secret I suppose would be where he actually is. His brother and sister were really close to him before he exalted, but since he's from the Realm anyone who exalts as a solar like him is considered a demon in human flesh. His biggest fear is that his brother will come to hunt him down, thinking he's giving him peace. The last thing my character wants to do is fight his brother.

Other than that, he's honestly pretty open. The only thing he hides from most people is the fact that he's a solar, and the fact that he exalted by killing his tyrant uncle, which he still thinks is proof that he's not a good person. Not a demon, but not a good person.

Fucking die shitfuck

Found the horsefucker. Nice bait, OP, we got another one.

His donated bone marrow killed his brother, the implications of that split up his parents, and he isn't actually proud of it.

Playing a CSM who really, really wishes he'd died a long time ago and is sick and tired of killing but doesn't want to appear weak to anyone else
